I stopped at Pita's on a whim, ordered the "family meal #2, and hoped for the best. It exceeded all expectations!!!! OMGOSH!!!! Came in for lunch and got the salad with chicken kabobs. The salad was fresh, huge , and delicious. I was surprised there was no one there. The salad was fresh, lettuce crisp, onions and tomatoes delicious, and the feta to die for. The chicken was flavorful. This salad was so big I saved half! I've ordered from them almost 3 days in a row, and I have noticed the lack of customer service. The first time, my order is in a proper to-go container with extra sauce that I didn't even order. Second order, the food is in a proper to-go container, no sauce. Third order my food is wrapped in thin aluminum foil, no container, and placed in a plastic bag. Following an exhausting day of disc golf, a frosty IPA and a luxurious steam-shower (probably in that order) I sported one'a those hungry bear kinda appetites. I ordered the LAMB SHAWARMA PLATE which came with delicious slightly sticky white rice, a Mediterranean Salad, Hummus & their made-fresh pita bread. I also ordered a 1/2 size Pita CHIPS & Hummus for good measure. The plate alone was more than enough to handle my appetite - but I'm glad I ordered the chips; they were crunchy fresh tasty. Super quick and very attentive service! Very nice employees! Great location close to Costco and Walmart. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad with Falafels! It was fresh and delicious and a great serving size! The falafels were just the right amount of crispy and all the ingredients tasted great! I will be back to try something new! I was around the area and I happened to stumble on this place before going to class and they let me sample a couple of meats I ended up choosing the Tri Tip sandwich I would definitely recommend I ended up eating way to fast and didn't get to take the best pictures. Also came with delicious pita chips and some sauces. If you love spices make sure to get it spicy that's what I did! It's awful. I ordered the tri-tip Pita sandwich. The meat was cold. They didn't heat it up fully. The veggies were soggy, wet, and gross. Not fresh at all. The tomato was probably the grossest of all the veggies. The proportions were not balanced. It's was 95% coldish meat, and 5% soggy veggies. Overflowing with meat. The meat was mostly fat and gristle, had to dispose much of it out. This place is an insult to good Mediterranean. How does a Mediterranean restaurant not have meat hot off the grill and fresh veggies? That's the staple of mediterranean food. This place is terrible and I'll never be back. Message to the owner. Take a trip to good mediterranean restaurant. Learn how it's done correctly. Do it the right way. read more

Before going to Costco, my hubby and I were looking for a quick lunch place to eat. We decided to come here since some of the places we wanted to eat were closed due to MLK holiday. Came in and I immediately took menus for us to look at. This was my hubby's first time eating Mediterranean food so we looked at the menu for awhile. The cashier/staff was nice and told us if we had any questions just to ask her. So from the pic, we ordered a Chicken Kabob ala carte, 2 Baklavas and a Tri-tip Kabob bowl. The food took awhile as it was being cooked. My hubby liked the Chicken Kabob. It had a good flavor. I had the Tri-tip Kabob bowl and it had white rice with Cucumber, Kalamata Olives and Onions. As for the sauces, I asked for garlic and cucumber yogurt. The meat was interesting. It looked chewy but I was able to grind it down. The marination I think had a lot of vinegar. The meat were tangy/sour. The Baklavas on the other hand were a great ending to the meal! It was fresh. We'll try this place again in the future. Maybe the owners could fix up little things like water marks on the ceiling tiles,, etc. read more

My husband and I have been loving this little spot since we moved to SM. Our first visit was random to say the least, just hungry and wanted to support a local joint. We met the owner who was very friendly and wonderful, he bragged about his spicy tahini, well within his right I must add. We never ordered anything without adding spicy tahini since then. We've ordered a few things from this place before and I have always had a party in my mouth for the most part. Their chicken kabobs tend to come out more in the overcooked and dry side, but there are some consistent winners- like their almond rice! I don't know what magical concoction of flavoring they have in that rice, but it makes my heart sing. Their plates are always loaded with so much food and they never hold back on the protein if you chose the shawarma. I had their tri-tip shawarma plate and I HIGHLY recommend it. Don't forget the spicy tahini! My husband got the chicken shawarma plate and he thought he made an excellent choice until he had some of my tri-tip steak. We absolutely love their food. It's different from other Mediterranean places I've tried. Don't take that as a credit to authenticity though, I'm just talking about flavors here. We have seen build-a-bowl concepts at almost every restaurant these days. So while it's nothing new, Pita's version of build-a-bowl is really cool because there are so many options. I love that there are so many different ways you can jazz it/change it up. The servings are pretty generous, too, so if you're watching your portion control you can def have two meals out of one bowl. With that being said, the standout here (in my opinion), is their chicken shawarma sandwich. It's wrapped in a pita and filled generously with chicken schawarma, pickles, red onion, and tahini sauce. It IS DIVINE. The accompanying pita chips w/ tzatziki and a spicy dip are an added plus. The pita chips are so crunchy and pair wonderfully with hummus, should you want a heartier dip. This is a casual sit-down, order at the counter type of restaurant. Price point is fair, staff is friendly, and the food is delicious! I am a fan. read more

12:19 ordered and were seated. Drink cups were given at our order, so we already had those as well. I was disappointed to see that there was not a plain sugar free option, such as plain iced tea (without fruit) but we continued on with our salt filled fruity drinks. At 12:35 our food was called. It's a small place, but offer both indoor and outdoor seating. (But only a few tables) Things I noticed right away were that the clerk missed my order to change the salad for tabouli on one plate, but he did get the other. (So far, simple mistake) the hummus was very creamy and not heavily spiced or salted, I may have been disappointed at first, but after a bite of the overly salted kabobs, I was glad for it. The kabobs, though extremely salted, were cooked perfectly and went well with the rice and almonds it was served upon. The tabouli salad was pretty good, though I would have preferred more lemon, the regular salad however, had tomatoes that were just a bit too translucent for my liking and went un eaten. The lamb was delicious, and we were disappointed that we could not take it with us on our journey. We left at 12:56 not a bad place and would eat here again. read more

First time trying this place out, in the shopping center off nordahl with the Kohls and Walmart. Small little joint, prices are very affordable and their sandwiches are soooo good! They really pack the pita bread and it's full of flavor! My bf got the spicy garlic chicken schwarma and I got the bbq tri tip schwarma. The pita chips were hard to stop eating and wish I ordered a separate side of them. You could tell this is def a family mom and pop shop with the dynamic in the kitchen. Post Costco-run, a craving for Mediterranean food came over me. Luckily, we found a spot a few feet away from us in the same shopping center at Pita's Mediterranean Grill. We hadn't ordered ahead of time, since it was spontaneous. Consequently our wait was on the longer side, about 30 min, which I understand. Things are made to order, now during COVID. I would suggest calling ahead of time! The quality was great! The lamb was a little tough to chew on, but the flavors were just what I was expecting. The service was also phenomenal. The gentleman that took my order was friendly and gave me great recommendations on what sauces to use. My brother ordered a gyro, and I ordered a bowl. Both were priced at around $9.50. My brother complained that the serving on the gyro was too small for his liking. On the other hand, my bowl lasted me two meals, which I was happy about! PHENOMENAL!!! We were in the area for a doctor appt and stopped here at about 12:30pm on a Wednesday. We were greeted and asked if it was our first time and were offered a sample of chicken and lamb. Service was excellent and friendly and accommodating. We ended up ordering two chicken shawarma sandwiches for my husband and I and got our daughter a Tri-tip kebob and a warmed pita. The flavors are excellent, husband says it's the best pita sandwich he has ever had and I agree, our daughter says the trip tip is her favorite. Prices are good for the outstanding quality and portions. If we lived closer we would frequent this establishment which appears to be family owned very often! Drove all the way across town because their website said they were open until 9pm but when I got there the doors were locked and the guy inside wouldn't come open the door to explain why their open sign was lit and it said open until 9pm. Ordered the #1 family combo. After reading all these 5 star reviews I was expecting something great. I was extremely underwhemled. Bland hummus, dry chicken, off putting steak, and steamed rice with toasted almonds. The rice is short grain Japanese style rice and literally steamed with sliced almonds. The salad dressing is a couple tablespoons of balsamic vinegar. The pita bread that came with the meal is a bag of stale cold bread you can get at the market. I mean really?! I have to warm my own pita at home?! Lastly, the falafel was soggy and tasted like they came out of a freezer bag. I am really bummed because we just moved to SM from San Diego. I always consult Yelp when dining at new places but these reviews are completely misleading. If you're a broke college kid and used to eating meal plan cafeteria food then this is may be a small step up. Otherwise look for a food court with Daphnes and you'll be much happier. If it weren't for the current pandemic environment I would be calling to get my money back. I don't have the heart to take money from a small biz in these times even though my wife really wants me to. I don't eat out frequently but when I do I always try to be a good customer, always tip even to go, smile say thank you, wait patiently. Today I spent $20 on food, and asked for the yogurt sauce politely TWICE. She forgot and said I could come back to get it. I don't have the time to drive back and fix their mistake. Was in the area, and was looking for something that was local instead of eating at a chain type place that I can find back home. Decided to give this place a try. Completely empty when I walked in. Looks like a family owned place. Simple decor, music in the background, 1 tv with the baseball game on. 2 people working the kitchen. I ordered their half and half meal which was half chicken and half lamb. Came out to around $14 or so. Food came out quickly. About 10 min or so. Good amount of meats was included. Heaping mounds of lamb and chicken on a bed of white rice. 2 different sauces included. Also had some pita bread and humus as well. It was really good. Flavors on point. The white sauce was cool and refreshing. The other one was a bit spicy. But added multiple layers of flavor. Left me full and sleepy for my long 2 hr drive back home stuck in traffic. Maybe not the best idea in the world... But this is a good little hole in the wall. Decor is confused. Customer service is so so. But food comes out fast. The main plus is that they're open on Sundays. Otherwise, you should be eating at Pita Guys instead. They are different parts of the same family, so you don't have to feel too badly about the preference toward PG. I've been several times now, always on a Sunday or Holiday, when Pita Guys is closed. I think that the food isn't nearly as large a portion (they use a smaller size container for the bowls), and doesn't seem to have as many options for toppings. When I came recently, they were seriously backed up getting orders out. The cashier was warning customers ahead of time that their food would take 15-20 minutes to be ready, whether they were eating in or taking out. They also messed up the order of the guy in front of me. The food is fine, but the chipotle-style setup of PG gives the customer more choices for toppings, as opposed to picking everything they want from a small list. (And not everything is even on the list, you have to ask.) I haven't tried the desserts, because I'm not sure they'd be up to the quality standards.
