When we walked into Pizza Mind, it was clear that it's a great spot for families. Almost every table had kids who were enjoying the pizza. My table ordered three pizzas- a gluten free margherita, a regular margherita, and a taco pizza. The margherita pizzas were both delightfully cheesy. The taco pizza was really a let down. It was topped with tough lettuce and the refried beans made it really bland. It would've been helped by a sour cream drizzle or some bright salsa added after baking, but overall it was just blah. The small pizzas are probably good for one very hungry person, but you might consider splitting it if you aren't a big eater. The broccoli side was also just okay. read more

I just got carryout here, so keep that in mind. The pizza was really good. I had the caprese and Carolina bbq. Both were really good, especially the bbq. Also got the breadsticks, which were ok, but maybe a bit too chewy. The customer service for carryout was good as well. I ordered online, got an email telling me when it would be ready. It was ready when promised, they grabbed it quickly and opened the boxes to confirm everything was right. All over very good. read more

Pizza Mind is by far my favorite place to get pizza in West Asheville. The pizza was delicious. It wasn't greasy. The cheese didn't fall off the crust. The crust wasn't burnt. It was cooked just right. However, I wasn't impressed with the service. When I initially got there, the some guy (bartender) seemed like he was in a pissy mood when I asked him "how he was doing?". Other than that, our waitress wasn't bad. The atmosphere was pleasant and fits in very well with the West Asheville vibe. I personally didn't like the music (seemed a little depressing to me) but I didn't take that minor thing into consideration when scoring this pizza restaurant/bar. Pizza Mind will blow your mind. Make your own pizza for the kids! The crust is flaky and chewy and the toppings are legit. The mKe your own deal is perfect for the kids cause they choose their toppings, they get their crust, and they go to town until the sever comes back to pop em in the oven. We had the garlic sticks to start and dipped them in pimiento, marinara, and pesto sauce. I could have had the pesto cheese sauce for dipping. We also had the friend green beans and they were crispy and fresh. The salads are huge! Service was exceptional. Our sever was attentive and patient even after our kid spilled water on her dough and had to get it replaced. Our umbrella almost flew away from the wind and he did a Jackie Chan and grabbed the pole with haste. Fresh cookies and mini cannolis for dessert. Will be coming back for sure! read more

What a welcome edition to the east side of Haywood Rd! There hasn't been much beyond the admiral in the way of food. (Yes, OWL bakery is there, but I'm not going to eat an entire meal of delicious perfectly prepared pastries) Pizza Mind changes all of that! This place seemed to appear over night, but feels right at home. A fresh interior featuring break and woodworking, ample amount of taps, and PIZZA! The pizza is quite good. It's not EXACTLY my style... a bit doughy, but I'm looking forward to trying this spot out again and asking for my pie to be well done. Hopefully that will provide me with the crispiness and touch of char that I adore in my pizza. The biggest drawback is the fact that they don't offer slices. Personal pizzas, yes, but if you're looking for pizza by the slice, you're SOL. Still, I commend them, to hit the ground running so quickly? I'm impressed. I'm giving them 4 stars as a place holder for my eventual 5 star review once I master the menu and find that pie that makes my heart melt like mozzarella. read more

There is a lot of hype on this place since it's the big new shiny joint in West Asheville! My boyfriend and I came here for a last minute dinner recently. We were slightly sticker shocked as it's pizza and pizza should be cheap. Wither way, we tried a lot of things. The pizza wontons were, for sure, the highlight of the meal. We had half pepperoni and half broccoli. To my surprise, I liked the broccoli more than the pepperoni! Weird. The sauces for dipping were also good. They were a classic marinara and a pesto aioli. I just ordered a salad after that but my boyfriend went all out by ordering a BBQ pizza and a philly cheese steak sammy. I am not a fan of BBQ pizza but it was alright for what it is. The philly cheese steak had a weird flavor that I can't point out. Meh. The second time we ordered it was take out. Once it was home, the crust on the pizza was undercooked and they were slack on the toppings. That was a bit disappointing considering the price. The service was great! 3/5 October 2017. We stopped here for dinner between tastings and overall were fairly happy with the results. It definitely falls into the pizzeria class of restaurant. But the service was good, in fact better than is usual in this style of restaurant where service is not always offered. The pizza and garlic knots were quite good but not exceptional. This place is great. I've only been here for beer and wings but it's got all the trimmings of a hometown pizza joint (including a claw machine!). Good beer selection and nice location. You can park at the brewery next door if you get your pizza / food to go and eat at the brewery. Plenty of TVs inside if you're trying to watch a sports game. Sadly, Pizza Mind totally disappointed my wife and I tonight. We decided to go there and order an appetizer or two and share a pizza. Our waiter greeted us very quickly and we did not know yet what we wanted to drink so asked for waters and said we would order shortly. His next time by, we ordered our dinners. After 35 minutes, we never saw this guy again. In addition, every table around us had their food delivered.......even the ones who came in 20-25 minutes after us. Our waiter disappeared. No chance to order a beer or ask where our food was. He never brought a pizza stand or anything. No water refreshes either. We ended up leaving after 40 minutes and never did get served or see our waiter. I have been here before and really liked the food and drink menu. I went to Pizza Mind for dinner on 10/12/17 while checking out some breweries in the area (i.e. Wedge, New Belgium and Archetype). The restaurant is not super big and as result, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for a large group. I was very impressed with their service. I never felt ignored and our food came out quickly. The pizza was average. The garlic knots were fantastic. In a nutshell the food is average to good but if you're craving Italian I wouldn't call it authentic. read more

After weeks of driving pass this brand spankin' new addition to West Avl, I finally had a chance to try it for myself. The verdict? Delicious!! There's A LOT of pizza places in Asheville, but this is one of my new favorites. The menu is predominantly pizza (duh), but there are many other great choices as well. I'm partial to the cauliflower and beet pizza; the saltiness of the goat cheese and pesto paired with the sweet beets is AMAZING! The space is also amazing. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the dining area is a combination of both modern and industrial. I definitely recommend checking out this new pizza joint. read more

This will not be a comprehensive review as we only tried one menu item and a few drinks, but what we did try and the service were all awesome. Food/drinks: We ordered the breadsticks and they were delicious, but what you NEED to get is the pesto aioli, because it was outstanding. My critique would be that there was waaaay too much seasoning on the breadsticks, but it was easy to shake off. Drinks were good and decently priced. Service: Our server was named Dara and she was awesome. Super cheerful for a waitress at 11:30 at night and brought our table multiple drink samples to help us decide. Atmosphere: Really cool decor, clean and at 11:30 we had no trouble finding a seat. Price: My drink was $4.50 and the garlic sticks were $6 and there were plenty to go around. read more

This place has an amazing chicken Parm sandwich. I picked one up to go, drove half an hour home, stuck it in the oven for 15 minutes, and it was perfect. The bread was not the least bit soggy, the white meat breaded chicken was perfect, and the tomato sauce had just the right amount of spice. read more

I am so disappointed!...Decided to try this place for take out on New Years Eve, a large pepperoni pizza. There is rarely a pizza I dont like however what we got was so so overly salty I couldn't even eat it. In my 59 years I've never had an issue with salty pizza, didn't even know it could be a problem. Dough was too thick at the crust, pretty thin in the middle which I like, but the dough had no flavor or taste, like the pizza. Not sure why all the good reviews unless it was just a bad night?? We ordered out food off of yelp and waited two hours and after 20 minutes AFTER we were suppose to have our food I was told that they told the driver to cancel our order because they didn't have the ingredients. Love this place for a couple reasons. First, fantastic pizzas. I usually do a build your own with portobello mushrooms, roasted peppers and fresh garlic. So good! Second, the location. They are conveniently located off of Haywood and even better next door to Archetype Brewing. Archetype doesn't have food service so you can order at Pizza Mind, wait at the brewery enjoying one of their many tasty beverages then pick up your pizza in about twenty minutes and take it back to try your hand at Tuesday night trivia. The pizza, atmosphere, service, draft list were awesome. Really love almost everything about this place. Only complaint is there was no changing table in either gender bathroom, so we had to change our daughter's diaper on the floor. This isn't a cheap date night joint. It's in a happening side of the hipster area of Asheville. It's big and shiny and has a beautiful interior. The service was ok. It wasn't that busy and we had to wait on our server several times. My tea glass ran dry. We walked across from work and had lunch. We tried the cauliflower buffalo appetizer which tasted like some hot sauce on cauliflower. I've had that appetizer elsewhere and it was much better. The pizza was tasty. The crust was spot on from the pizza oven. I love that wood fired crust. We both made our own personal sized pies - mine was Italian Sausage and Mushroom and the flavors were perfect with the four blend cheese. I think it is a little over priced and I think they need to refine their menu, but overall it should be a good addition to the West Asheville scene. read more

My friends and I were at a conference from out of town, we were getting pretty hungry and EVERYWHERE was closed. We ended up ordering Pizza Mind since it was on the way to the hotel and we were starving. The breadsticks were not good, but the margarita pizza, Greek salad and Caesar salads were great! Best gluten free crust I've ever had-- not thin at all, very fluffy and thick. They also offer vegan cheese! Inside is so dope and the seating is comfortable. Located in a cool spot of town too.
