We spent the morning at the tar pits and needed lunch before heading back to Orange County. The food was serviceable and seemed pretty healthy but definitely not a gourmet joint Come here if you need sustenance without any frills and you will be glad you did. They also have a freezer filled with lots of ice cream goodies for dessert and while we were there lots of kids had a look and plotted to get their parents to buy them one. Very deceitful people. The pizza is decent. (very greasy pizza) and the Nachos are actually really good but the fact that they are extremely rude and untrustworthy people kills it. They overcharge on almost every bill, i was told to not worry about the delivery within 2 miles, and they still charged me 5 dollars. They also included gratuity on the check but didn't inform me so i double tipped. The worst one yet was was they had a coupon on a website called Jewpon (a groupon styled website for kosher places) for a Large Pizza and fries and a coke. I ordered and told them i had the coupon, they said it will be ready in 15, i show up and pick up the pizza and the pizza looks like a small and the bag of fries was lacking. I order again later but after last time i didn't tell them i had the coupon. No surprise the Pizza was actually a large and the fries were a full order. Its sad that these people are like this. It gives a bad names to Jews. They now have a burrito challenge, 8 pound burrito that must be finished in 30 minutes. Seems slightly impossible, no challenge on Man V. Food is like this. However, they don't serve meat on pizza, so don't expect to get a pepperoni and sausage combo (unless you want veggie pepperoni). Even if you're a carnivore, give this place a try. It's tasty. This is a KOSHER dairy restaurant. What that means is that there are no meat items on the menu - everything is made with flour and cheese and vegetables. I come here with my boss, who eats Kosher, and he swears by the pizza. It's not bad. This place is perfect for vegetarians! The place is decorated like a cafeteria with odd 'kid friendly' decorations scattered around. You order at the counter from a large, colorful, hand drawn menu board. You can get Nachos, Falafel, Tuna Melts, Veggie Fajitas, Pizza... stuff like that. I've had the tuna melt and it's not bad. The pizza is also decent. It's also interesting people watching, as you'll mostly see orthodox jews eating in here (L.A.'s version of the Amish). People are friendly, the food is healthy if not inspired, and the prices are fair. Wildly underwhelmed by the salmon fettuccine. It was borderline gross. It may have been my own fault for ordering pasta from a place called Pizza World and, admittedly, the pizza was not bad at all. But, ugh, that salmon fettuccine... That was just offensive. On a happier note, they have a burrito challenge of a 6 or 7 lb burrito which is free if you eat it all. We eat here frequently, and even order delivery. Lately, their portions have been getting ridiculously smaller & smaller. The prices were alright for a Kosher place (kosher places are usually a bit pricier), but with the smaller portions it's actually really pricey now. Portion size aside... The burrito is excellent. The Eggplant parmesan is excellent. The avocado salad is good & refreshing - and the CREAMY ITALIAN DRESSING is REALLY GOOD. Stay away from the vegetable meatballs (including the sandwich), and the mozzarella sticks (way too greasy). They don't mention it on the phone, but they charge a delivery fee of $5 which is pretty high in my opinion. We are not going to order from Pizza World anymore. Every time, the bill is $2-$4 more and we weren't told, they're sneaky and just generally dishonest with money. We felt bad to complain about a couple of dollars (the chips, the this, the that) and we love the food so we just didn't say anything each time, but it happens EVERY TIME and it adds up... It just gives this bad feeling that they aren't decent. (What's the point of Kosher without decency?) I finally had enough & decided to speak up about it, so, the delivery guy called the girl at the restaurant and she spoke not nicely to me and pretty much told me I can just not order from there anymore. She didn't care about our business, so that's that. It is one of the worst kosher restaurant that I have ever been in to. I ordered pizza, falafel and taco salad for pick up. When I got home the pizza was crushed because they put it between two paper plates instead of a box. The falafel came with the fries which I am pretty sure the oil was too old because you could smell the old oil from French fries. The Pizza was good. We all ate the pizza and complained how bad the food was. Includes one small pitcher of soda ("take a pitcher and pore the water out"). Went once before and had the Mexican. Also, they probably have the best dressings ever.. their thousand Island and creamy Italian is unbelievable.. I go there often and have probably sampled the whole menu.. and I cant say there isn't anything I don't like.. But I would stay away on Saturday nights or proceed with caution its insane there, fully packed and cant move.
