The unfortunate reason for not a 5-star is because the car interior mats are light grey and someone stepped into it a couple of times without any mat covers so now I gotta get it washed. Drop by for oil change and end up with major job on my Volvo SUV. They did free 60 point inspection and found out strut and control arm having problems due to milage and age of the car. Worst of all, they found leaking(?) fuel tank. I been noticing gasoline smell in my garage and was suspecting maybe ground was former fuel tank deposit area. ( later googled and found it was former vegetable farming area ) The technician provided many different scenarios from fuel pump to fuel tank leaking. After looking at worst possible scenario I was freaking out and took it to one of church member's garage for second opinion. I send (multiple) email to PSS for rough estimation and PSS service manager replied patiently to multiple emails explain and calm me down about the repair cost and not having worst case scenario. So I brought car in and took about 2 days to repair / replace fuel pump and fuel tank. The cost wasn't high as I thought and their service fee is very competitive as I compared against service center my sibling use for decade, and compared against what church member told me about repair cost. Now I have one repair down and two major repairs to go on my volvo. I'm so glad I found the PSS accidently from Yelp and Google. Close to my home and I really love their drop-off / pick-up service. Not every day you can ask friends and family for ride, and uber is bit expensive. Their service center is toe to toe with major dealership when it comes to cleanness and amenities provided to the customers. Their repair process also same level as the dealership where all issues are discussed with pictures for the record for customers to review and keep for record. Some places definitely deserve 5 stars and harmonious praise. PSS is such business for that. read more

The staff is exceptionally courteous, knowledgeable and helpful, texting me on the repair progress, what an awesome experience compared to the dealership I usually go to. So glad to have found a trustworthy mechanic nearby! My husband was able to make an appointment for an oil change easily online, we were greeted in the clean lobby and the services were explained to us clearly. We decided to walk to a cafe up the street for a breakfast date but the waiting area looked stocked with a TV, a full mini fridge and even a popcorn machine. After the inspection, you receive a text with photos and recommended repairs (totally expected given our car is almost 20 years old) but pretty high tech for an auto shop! I hate car stuff but will definitely be coming back due to the easy breezy operations at Placentia Super Service. read more

My car was towed to Placentia Super Service with a broken ignition switch. I wasn't sure what ignition switch replacements usually cost, but they charged me $2,000. I had no way to verify if this was reasonable or not. When I got the car back, I noticed that second gear was slipping--something that wasn't an issue when I initially brought it in. I turned around and took the car back, thinking it might be related to the repair, though I couldn't be sure. It took them over two weeks to replace the clutch, and they charged me $4,000 for it--a job that usually costs around $1,200. I was shocked to be charged four times the standard rate! Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. After getting the car back, I noticed a major oil leak between the engine and transmission, which I'm now getting fixed at another garage. Overall, my experience with Placentia Super Service was disappointing. They were extremely overpriced, slow, and left my car with additional issues. While the clutch and ignition switch work well, I would not recommend Placentia Super Service. read more

Booked an appoint for Sat at 8am for an Oil Change. They text me stating they had an opening for Friday at 330pm. When I arrived, they checked me in right away and got started on the car. I waited while they did the service. The place is super nice and clean. They offer water, coffee, all sorts of snacks and candy, soda, and other treats. 30 mins later my car was done. I told him no thank you and went on with my day, I then get a text via yelp saying I have made my appointment with them which is not true.
