I cannot speak positively enough about Placentia Super Service. My first experience was after dealing with Pep Boys with several issues with my sons car and no resolve. After 1 visit, the car was in perfect running condition with no issues which continued until my son sold it over a year later. As a result, I recently paid off my Mini Cooper and thought it would be a good idea to get a complete diagnostic done. Again, I was extremely happy with the result and the car runs and performs excellent. Today, with only a few hours notice, I took a car that my son had purchased the night before to have checked into Placentia Super Service. Both Paul and Joe were honest, took the time to explain all issues, and provided great insight on how to proceed. I have a 2020 Corolla and took it in on a Friday because a noise was coming from my engine. I was then told to leave it overnight because it could be a dangerous issue (which turned into 3 days) so I requested a loaner vehicle because they said the master mechanic doesn't work weekends so my car couldn't be inspected until Monday. On Saturday after I went to pick up the loaner vehicle I received a price estimate (HOW IF THEY SAID MY CAR COULDN'T BE INSPECTED UNTIL MONDAY?) The price estimate listed a bunch of things that were supposedly wrong with my car and came out to $4,000! When I spoke with the mechanic and was hesitant about the price he then said "oh wait my manager is behind me and said we can do it for $3600" total scammer. I declined services and was planning to pick it up on Monday evening. I received a text message Monday morning while at work saying loaner vehicles are for customers only so I need to return it before 9:30am or they will start charging me fees. So I had to leave work to return it. To top it off I was charged a $50 holding fee and when I contacted them to reverse the fee they kept changing their story from 3 days to 7 business days and in the end I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. I ended up going elsewhere and got my car fixed for $500 for the one issue that needed repair and my car runs fine. read more

Great place to get an oil change (the first time). Regular prices seemed a bit high to me. (Over $100 for a Honda accord oil change). With a coupon I got it for $72. I happened to be in so cal visiting family when my oil change notification popped up. It was low enough that driving back up north would pose a problem or damage to the vehicle. I checked yelp for places late Sunday night. Placentia Super Service's (PSS) website allowed for easy appointment booking. My appointment was confirmed the next day, Monday morning. I arrived 10 min early to my 830a appointment. Ben (per the business card on the counter, no introduction given) checked me in. He informed me that it would be about an hour and half. I decided to wait in the lobby. They have a fully stocked fridge, popcorn and coffee. The waiting area is clean, ac running and nice to see there are plenty of charging cords available. I knew since my booking was last minute it would take some time. Boy did it take time. My car was pulled into the bay 3 hrs later (I was able to view it through the window in their lobby). At 1135a, I received a text about approval for the inspection and install of an air filter. I approved the work via my phone, which was really convenient. 25 minutes passed, I haven't received any word on completion of my vehicle. I checked with the staff in front and was told they were waiting on air filters because they ran out. I informed them I will install it myself and to cancel that repair. I received my keys at 1153a. I'm lucky that I was free and had time to wait because a 3.5 hrs oil change appointment is not something I've ever experienced. Communication would have been appreciated with what was going on while I waited in the waiting area. read more

Run, don't walk, away from this place!! I've waited quite a while from my oil change because I wanted to make sure my gut feeling was right before bashing a business. They quoted me some ridiculous amount of money (over $4k) in repairs needed "for the safety of my family" (yes they used those words) because my Range Rover was a dangerous to drive around in its condition which they discovered during a routine oil change. I thought it was a little weird because I literally just had major work done on the car by the dealership (on things that has nothing to do with what needed supposed fixing) a few weeks before that and was fully inspected by the dealership - why wouldn't they have told me my car was in such dangerous condition to drive?? But at the same time I didn't want to risk my kids lives either- what mom does? I felt very pressured and spent a loooong time there contemplating what to do. Finally, I decided I'll have the dealership look over my car again and decide there. They made me feel very guilty about endangering my family leaving the place with my car. I ended up showing the estimate to my husband at home who laughed and called them complete con artists. I still wanted to be sure though. The car was inspected again thoroughly by the dealership (took hours for a full inspection) and they said it was completely fine. It's been 7 months and the car drives great. The only thing that did happen right after leaving their place was that a nail was in my tire. I can't say for sure it was from their place, of course, but just by narrowing down possible places in my head, this place seems like the most likely place I picked that nail up. I hate doing this to a business but if this saves even one person from recklessly losing thousands of dollars I guess it's worth it. I ended up going here for an oil change because of all the great Yelp reviews. If I saw some more real reviews I could've saved myself a lot of headache. read more

Brought my work truck here and Jasper and the crew did a thorough inspection and made it work again. I worked with Jasper on getting approvals for the repairs from various departments at work and he was patient and kind the entire time. Brought my own car, a 1999 Miata, for an inspection and was elated to know that Jasper also had the same Miata in the past and knew how much I loved this car. He gave me a series of quotes for the work that needs to be done, which I plan on getting done here. The shop is neat and clean inside and I received a follow-up text a few days after asking how the service was. Had check engine light on and engine seem to struggle on my Mazda 6. They spent a good deal of time to diagnose properly and tell me the fuel injector went bad. Awesome service to drive people home so we didn't have to be stranded for hours. Authorized the work but a day later said the supplier provided them a bad injector so they had to do the whole job again with replacement parts but it won't incur additional costs. That was expected but cool they were very up front about it. Very professional front staff and I waited a month to leave this review because I just didn't know what to expect and I was very weary of the check engine light coming back. Now I'm comfortable with the car again and very happy with performance. Will come back if I run into any new issues. read more

All work has been top notch and is guaranteed for 3 years. They give discounts and pass savings on parts to the customer when they get a deal. Prices are reasonable. Turnover time is quick. 1. I brought my 2011 Prius to Placentia Super Service to have a catalytic converter shield installed. I was recommended by Placentia Police Dept. Lori assisted me during the process. I brought in the morning 7:30 am & ended up picking it up close to 5 pm the same day. I requested pics before and after installation. Please about it. 2. I decided the same week to have a converter shield installed also on my wife's 2017 Prius. All is fine as well so far. Though I noticed their flyer indicated they will do the vin #etching with the service requested but they did not do it. I asked & they said no ??? 3. I mentioned to my brother who owns a CRV to have a shield installed also. So he did weeks later. Also, he had transmission fluid replaced on the CRV. Unfortunately this time the job was "poorly" done. A). There is rattling noise from the installation. B) Transmission fluid level is low. I bought a used Dodge Journey which "appeared" to be in decent shape, however there were tons of things that had never been taken care of. Super Service found all the worn out parts and did all the major repairs in just a couple of days (including all motor mounts, tranny mount, brakes, calipers, and more). It's a straight forward and easy process! They have a driver on hand so when your cars in the shop for a couple hours you have the ability to go home instead of ordering an Uber. **** IM WARING U! DONT GO HERE *** Went here to get an oil change today and they took AN HOUR to tell us that our car's filter cap is too tightened and they need to crack it open. After another 10 minutes, front guy told us our oil housing broke while cracking the cap. and so we have to pay another $50 to replace it. I MEAN WHAT THE HELL ? They first told us it will only take 20 minute and now after an HOUR of wait they are charging US more for THEIR MISTAKE? (which they are keep blaiming our previous repairer's fault). This is our 3rd car and never happened for last 10 years! He said he will waive the fee. Well yeah... of course. u better be. Duh. We are still waiting for our car to be done. They gonna break down ur car too people. Stay away. I will follow up after I get my car back. + I asked him what took an hour to come let us know our oil filter cap had a faulty, and he was like no... we didn't take that long. But dude I took a picture of this place as I arrived here and it says it has been an hour since I took that picture :/ ++ Though it wasn't u over tightened the cap, you broke the housing.
