My AC went out and originally took it to the car dealership. First they said there was no issue and I took the car back, but the AC didnt work within a day. I returned to the dealer and this time they said the compressor wasnt working. They were going to charge me $2600 to exchange the compressor which seemed unusually high. I decided to go come Placentia Super Service and spoke with Joe over the phone who was able to give me a rough quote for just changing out the compressor. He recommended doing a full inspection anyways which I agreed to and they also found a leak from the tubing. I dropped the car off at 1pm and it was fixed by 10am the next day and working great. And all of this for a 1/3 less than the dealership was going to charge me for just the compressor. He also got me a AAA discount as well for the service. I needed some help with my brakes and valve gasket cover on my car. I came here because of the great reviews. When I showed up, nobody was wearing masks. This is a pandemic where the entire state of California is REQUIRED to wear masks. That should have been enough for me to leave, but I really wanted to trust that my car would be taken care of. I left my car there after calling and talking to Mike. Later that day, I was called to be informed that I also needed to replace my control arms. That doubled the price, but it needed to be done so of course I went through with it. When I got my car back, the hood popping latch was broken. I could not open my hood because it was not connected to the wire that opens it and was just hanging there. I knew they obviously had broken it because they needed to open the hood to replace the valve cover gasket. 1. Don't tell a customer their car is ready to go if it's not and something is now broken. 2. Do tell the customer you have to fix something they broke. Thankfully, I noticed the same day when I was trying to check under my hood. I went right back into the office again where no one was wearing masks, and I was told they'd fix it at no cost, which I figured they should do anyway. The dishonesty was the deal breaker for me, as I felt they were just going to see how long it would take me to notice. Upon leaving, I felt as if I was being rushed out for being a nuisance. I took my car on a trip to the desert about a week later and my check engine light turned on. Definitely wasn't going to go back here. Fixed that issue elsewhere. Just not a very good experience at all and I do NOT recommend anyone to go here. Take it to a bigger shop, not a small one. Jennifer: the reason I will not go back is because I refuse to have my car serviced by dishonest people, regardless of the warranty. Thank you for taking care of our Lexus today. Initially, my son took the car to Allen Tires on Yorba Linda Blvd & was told that the tire could not be repair due to the location of the nail. Printed out the coupon from their website for the oil change with seasonal check up and also scheduled an appointment online. All of the employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. Small, but nice little waiting area with popcorn, water, and tv. I like the fact that they send you an email with a full run down of all of the problems with your car and also give you a printout of the same. They went over each issue with my car and took the time to answer my questions. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to make any repairs. My son took his car to have brake service done. He arrived at 7:30 for his appointment and was told the technician would be in at 8. Technician was late and after waiting 3 1/2 hours he was told they would have to order the parts. My son received a ride home and was told he would be contacted later that day. No contact made that day or the morning the next day. My son called about 11:30am and was told his car was ready the day before and they thought they had called him or text him. He did not receive any communication. Customer service was bad and the charges also seemed high. I was going to take my vehicle to them but changed my mind after my son's experience. read more

I've always had a positive experience with Placentia Super Service. They've patched 3 tires for me over the last year and completed some much needed brake work on my Lexus. I was just in for another tire puncture on my Lexus last week. I called and spoke with Bob the owner the night before to make sure they would have time to squeeze me in an he was super friendly and accommodating. I stopped in the next day around 11:15 and they had my tired patched and completed in about an hour for NO CHARGE. Truly amazing service that I'm happy to recommend to anyone needing auto service in the area. Great trustworthy service. If there was one thing I would love to see improved it would be to have the front desk staff wearing masks. I understand the mechanics in the back may not be regularly interacting with customers (so I get it if they choose not to) but your waiting room staff are. I appreciated that you had the plexiglass dividers up at the desks but not all customer interactions took place there. In the middle of a pandemic I think all staff interacting with the public should be masked up, its a small thing that helps keep everyone more safe. read more

felt compelled to write a review because I feel it is important for others to know. My car messed up on the freeway in the middle of the night and had it towed to a mechanic in that area. Was able to drop my car off and key in the lock box which was great! Turns out, something hit the oil filter causing all the oil to come out so essentially all I needed was an oil change which is actually super great to hear. The issue that I have is that they charge $150 for diagnostic and it does not go towards ANYTHING. I do believe that they are honest and do good work. They sent pictures and explained all the issues that they found. They did not pressure me to fix anything that I didn't want to fix. But, all I got was an oil change (they talked me into getting a flush) and with the diagnostic... it was $350.... For an oil change. Which is robbery honestly. read more

As the other reviews say STAY AWAY!!! I wish I could give zero stars. This is the second time that we bring our vehicle for service. The first time they were extremely helpful and took the time to provide good costumer service. However, this time the service was by far THE WORST! I Brought my Jeep Wrangler for an oil change. Upon doing an inspection, the person assisting us, Benjamin, stated that the vehicle needed additional services. We agreed to the repairs and he said the vehicle would be ready for pick up the following day at 11:00AM . Following day comes around, and no call. We understand that small businesses are experiencing staffing shortages and things occur. We followed up at 1:00 pm and Benjamin informed us that the wrong tires were received and that the vehicle would be ready at around 3-3:30PM. Once again, 4:30pm hits and NO Phone call, No update. I called and spoke with DON, who said the vehicle would be ready at 5:30 PM. I was unable to get an Uber or Lyft on such short notice that would arrive to my location before 5:30pm. I had to call around on a Wednesday at 5:00 pm to attempt to find a ride to the shop. I called to notify Benjamin that I was having issues getting a ride, however I would arrive 15 minutes pass the 5:30pm pick up time. His response was "I need to pick up my son and need to leave at 5:30pm". I informed him I needed the vehicle today as I have an early meeting tomorrow morning. He seemed extremely annoyed but agreed to wait 15 min. I managed to arrive to the shop and he appeared upset that he had to wait. He told me the total, and I paid. When providing the documentation all he said was "your alignment was off, it was this, now it's this". No apology for dragging us along a whole day without an update unless we call and ask for one. The worst part is that once my husband arrived and took the paperwork, he noticed that I was charged $100 dollars more that what Benjamin initially quoted for the entire service. No explanation as to why! The vehicle was received covered in oil, and some of the tire bolts are missing. My brakes are now making a noise that was not doing before. And the alignment is still off. (This is based on a second opinion). It's extremely frustrating that I lost an entire days worth of work because they could not communicate properly. Yet, the employees think that their time is more valuable than mine. I hope that someone can give me a call that is NOT Benjamin. read more

Initially went in for service that Toyota said I needed to replace on my Sienna for $800. Went to Placentia Super Service to get service for hopefully cheaper than what Toyota was saying. After inspecting turns out I didn't need that at all...Toyota was exaggerating and just lying. I found Placentia Super Service on the list of AAA approved auto mechanics and went there for standard inspection and maintenance shortly after moving to this area. They have a beautiful facility, shuttle service, responsive texting feature, and even give you a coupon for free car wash down the road. I enjoyed these extra amenities. However, I do feel like I was overcharged and sold unnecessary services. Granted, my knowledge of cars is limited so some of this is gut feeling and may be taken with a grain of salt. What I do know is this: -I have never been charged as much at a mechanic as I have at Placentia Super Service, and this is even after declining some of the recommended services. -Typically, a mechanic will call me after their inspection to describe what they have found, what are the consequences of performing or not performing the service, and what services could safely be delayed until a later date. Instead, they texted me a laundry list of services and asked me to agree or decline... I did some Googling to try to figure out what was and wasn't necessary, but I still felt very lost. -One of the services I declined was fixing my air conditioning, and for weeks afterwards I continued to receive messages from them that my AC is not working properly which could impact performance or safety of my car. As little as I know about cars, I feel reasonably certain that broken AC is not going to impact safety. This left me with a very slimy feeling. -6 months later, I visited a different local mechanic who fixed my AC for a fraction of what I was quoted at Placentia Super Service. -This other mechanic also found that my back brake pads were worn almost completely down -- something that Placentia Super Service did not mention. -This is the first AAA mechanic I have visited who limits the 10% discount to the oil change only (versus all labor costs). I would much rather forgo the extra bells and whistles for a trustworthy mechanic who helps me make an informed decision on what services are truly necessary for my car. read more

Extremely over priced. I got a voucher for $64 since I had previously gotten my car serviced there so I used it for an oil change, luckily the oil change ended up being completely free with the voucher. However, I specifically said I don't want any thing extra done on my car, not everyone especially right now can afford what would end up being a $2,000 charge minimum. When I stated that I would simply just take it somewhere cheaper the guy who's kept insisting they're better than where I typically go, mind you he has no idea who my regular auto repair shop is so this came off extremely arrogant & a little rude. I had a flat tire and to patch it up alone cost $29 on an old ass car? I get this done for free or some places less than $10. Last time I spent $995 on services and later got quoted hundreds less at a smaller auto repair shop. Also NO one here wears masks during what is the largest surge of COVID since the onset of the pandemic. Mind you, there is a statewide mask mandate until February. Oh and my oil change took 3 hours, with an appointment made two days ahead. read more

I normally do all my own maintenance and repair work to my vehicles, but this issue had me puzzled.
