I wouldn't even give this place a star. Don't trust them when making appointments. I was told they could help me out with my food truck and that they had space for that type of service. I was in a time crunch and had called so many places. I took their appointment because they confirmed they had that space and they did that type of work. So in the day of the appointment I show up with the huge food truck , mind you it's a hassle to move it and it's a lot of gas it chews up. I let go of other appointments because I was give certainty that this was the right place to go. I show up and I am told they don't do this type of work , they don't work on food trucks and they don't even have the space to work on it. You can imagine the problem this created for me. I think it was very unprofessional of them to confirm and say they could help and give me an appointment just to leave me hanging the day of the appointment. I had given them all the information with the make and model. I was given confirmation for the appointment. Don't waste your time with such unprofessional business that only cares about their end but doesn't care who they leave hanging. We run a business and we never leave our customers hanging. A good business treats it's customers how they would like to be treated. That says a lot about the type of business they are running. No one apologized either. We are done with this place. We have a 17 year-old van that we took in for the check engine light and some slight steering issues. It was the catalytic converter. They quoted us over $5000 for fixes. I called another mechanic that we've used in the past and they quoted me $800 to replace the cat converter if we decided on that, compared to over $1800 at this place. Every little thing was listed on the invoice. The car itself isn't worth even half that. I mean, really, we're going to put that much $ into an old car? My husband is fairly handy, did some research and was able to fix the steering issue for about $50. Also,we ran some gas treatment to the van. The check engine light went off and the next week it passed smog. So total, for less than $100 our van runs fine now. An honest mechanic would suggest these simple fixes. If the van doesn't last us much longer, who cares? We're ready to buy a new car when it dies. Makes me furious and sick to my stomach that we've wasted the $ we have into this place. This place is complete garbage. Not sure who they have working on their cars but I'm pretty sure they're just watching Youtube videos in the back trying to figure it out. Three visits and over $1500 later and check engine light was STILL on. First visit, "rest assured we are going to perform a detailed diagnostic, we don't want to just throw parts at the problem." Three visits later and a new part was needed every time. Of course none of it is covered under their "warranty" which is a complete scam. The biggest joke of all is this guy Bob who reaches out to ask for reviews and see how everything went. No resolution to customer issues, just BS generic responses. Brought my car in to be repaired and the day before I was going to pick it up they got into a car accident with my car and the entire door was smashed in. That wasn't even the worse part. They LIED and said there was a small dent in the car but it was still drivable. I had to ask multiple times for pics and when they finally text them over, the photos showed the entire door was hit and needed replaced. Wouldn't even tell me what really happened until I was in the office to pick up the car. Like others, I was out even longer without a car while they worked to replace the door/repaint the car. $3100! That was how much these guys wanted to charge my daughter when she came in with a coolant leak. Their answer was to replace the entire engine assembly. Good thing we got the car towed to another mechanic for a second opinion. Turns out the problem was fixed for $100 with a can of sealant, and if Placentia Super Service was as good as their reviews make them out to be they would have seen the problem and the solution. My guess is they saw a young woman without much automotive experience and decided to take advantage of the situation. Perhaps someone needed a trip to Hawaii and they figured this would pay for it. So they may be fine to work with if you know what you're talking about with cars, or you're older and wiser, or you're a man. But my family has found someone honest to work with, where they do the work that's needed without trying to upsell you. I used to get anxious about taking my car to the shop but after my visit here I felt great. First of all they tried to help me out over the phone and when I told them I'd done all that already they told me to bring it in so they could have a look. They came out to my car and plugged in an OBDII reader and said they could bring it in and hook up to a more enhanced monitor to see if anything in the Catalyst system was broke. Told me there is a diagnostics fee and I agreed. They told me there was nothing mechanically wrong with my vehicle (I was overjoyed with that news!!!). They were unable to fix it but they gave me a detailed procedure to try and fix it myself and said it would be cheaper if I did it (how often have you heard a shop say that?). They were courteous and efficient, but their hourly rate is $150. My bad for not doing my homework. They charged me $500 (after the "Facebook" discount) to replace front brakes, rotors, oil change. They recommended a lot more work which would've been an additional $1500, I couldn't afford. I asked him to lower, maybe use different parts, but he said they only use premium parts. I'm a single mom and it's my daughter's college car, 2014 Ford Focus with only 50k miles. I'm still scratching my head. Is there some sort of law of physics that states that there can never just be one thing wrong with your car at a time? Because that's about how my life is going right now. I heard about Placentia Super Service via the Placentia Buzz FB group where I posted a desperate plea for any place that could rekey my Honda Civic for possibly less than the dealership quoted me. While I had to stick with the dealership in the end (need I say, OUCH) , Ryan fielded my phone calls as I went back and forth with the dealership and PSS, was super patient, and I totally said that I would come to them for any future service needs. Maybe I shouldn't have said that but sure enough, I started hearing that dreaded squeak from my brakes the very next evening. Today, I rolled up just as the shop opened (730 am!). I was greeted by a tech who took a look at my car and agreed that the brake pads were worn, and handed my case off to Bob while the tech pulled my car around. He took down my contact information and I headed to work around the corner. Shortly after, I received a text with a link to the results of the inspection of the car, with action items addressed, as well as instructions to call for an estimate on completion time. When I called, Bob was honest and upfront with the actions that needed to be taken. Sure enough it was my brakes making that horrid noise, but my power steering fluid was dirty and my spark plugs could do to be replaced. However, Bob wasn't pushy about getting it all done at once. He broke down the price estimate into its parts and told me I could probably hold off on the other services and just do the brakes today. Because of the estimates Bob gave me, I know what I'm going to need to budget. I appreciate the honesty. A refreshing change from dealerships and other mechanics who try to upsell you on everything My car was done within the day. I dropped off my car at 745ish and came to pick up the car after work at 4ish. Because I worked so close by I just walked to and fro, but they did offer me a ride and when I discussed my rekey situation, they mentioned that they offered car rental for a reasonable price as well. As far as price goes, I believe it is VERY fair for the quality of work that is done. I can tell they take great pride in their work here and that their work is done with integrity. Sadly this feels rare nowadays, but I'm thankful my car was in the hands of Placentia Super Service! read more

I was getting royally ripped off by my last mechanic so when I asked my friend where to take my sweet ride to he said super service was the best and that is where I have been going ever since. I have been going since Buddy used to own the place. The place had an ownership change about a year ago, and the new owners that took over and they are pretty chill and just as good. It's nice taking your car somewhere you know you aren't going to get ripped off and it's nice to know these guys are honest and reliable.
