HOSPITALITY/CUSTOMER SERVICE is PRIORITY. I love it. These men here are professional and personable. Lets just start in the beginning. On friday the 13th, my car, in Jack In The Box drive thru, started smoking. It wasnt on fire, just smoke. No black or grey, it was white smoke. So I assumed it was steam. Yet I still freaked out. Stopped the car, took my purse, and got out. The manager of JIB was nice enough to let me park my car in their parking lot while I was at work. (How did I get to work...well, I work less than a block from JIB. So had to resort to my first transportation...my feet.) After I was done with work, I resorted to Yelp to find a mechanic. I first found one that was catty corner to JIB and that maybe i can do a small drive across the way. It was late in the day, they said I couldnt bring it. Suckie poo. (Sorry that's the inner 4yo child in me....espcially I am a mom and thats what I hear everyday.) Then I came across PSS. They have great reviews and read a few. So decided to call them up to see if they can take a look at my car. They said Yep just as long as I get it towed in before closing time. Perfect! This place is right behind my work. Not far at all. So, got it towed in, two of the guys took a look, brought me back, and said *This is what happened....* Im like, oh no. My friend just fixed that last year. How can it break in one year? So the main man, Bob, he told me had to leave the car overnight since it was late in the day and they can get a better diagnosis in the morning. Im like ok. And what was so cool and sweet, Bob drove me back to my work. Thanks Bob. Now it is Saturday. I get a text and call from them around noon that my car is ready to be picked up. Yayyy. So came in with my boyfriend and Bob explained and showed us the part that was broken. The thermostat pipe literally broke in half. That's the reason for no coolant and a bunch of steam. The job on the car wasn't cheap nor tooooo pricey, but worth the pennies spent. My car is running great. Cool air came in like a breeze and warm air (now that it is getting cooler in the morning) comes out faster than before. Do you want honest mechanics? YESS! So PSS is highly recommended. BTW, they offer 3mos same as cash financing, that's if you are strapped for cash. If your car needs more than one days work, they offer rental cars (no loaners). If you are hungry or parched, they have a popcorn (self serve) machine and a mini fridge of drinks in the waiting room. Don't forget to call the guys Matthew Perry, Lawrence Fishburne, and Michael Chiklis. (I think these actors are their heros...lol). read more

I brought my Toyota Corolla here for an oil change months ago and when I went to a different place months later for another oil change, they said they couldn't do it because the oil cap was broken. So I had to drive all the way back to this place because they initially broke it and places were refusing service due to it being a liability. Went back to Placentia super service, told them what had happened they assured me they'd replace the cap they broke. I believe them. I trusted them. Right now I am waiting for my car to finish an oil change and the guy tells me that it's broken. He shows me and it's the SAME BROKEN CAP they never replaced. thankfully the guy now is able to remove the cap and replace it but damn. I'm a girl so it's already a little nerve wracking walking into a car shop and this is exactly why. I was ASSURED it was changed. My moms 1997 Honda was stolen. When it was recovered, we got the complete run around from our insurance company when it came time to get the repairs made. I contacted Placentia Super Service and spoke to Michael who made the process SO much easier. He was immediately responsive every time I had a question. Their prices were reasonable and they were very thorough and honest when going through the necessary repairs. Despite my insurance taking time, Michael and the staff at Placentia Super Service did everything they could to get my moms car back to her as soon as possible. Took my Mustang there to take care of a cooling system issue. Staff was nice and friendly and waiting area was large with phone chargers, coffee, snacks , water and sodas. My service writer took me into the garage and had the mechanic show me the leaking radiator and worn out hoses. Mechanic also recommended replacing the air filter. I told him it was new ( literally went to Auto Zone a few days ago and put a new air filter in). The mechanic lost credibility with me ( did he even check the air filter?). Service writer gave me a preliminary work invoice and told me that car would not be ready until next day, but they had a $10 a day loaner. My work schedule meant I would have to pick up my car after hours and my service writer told me my car would be out front and there would be an after hours box to pick up my keys and final paperwork. When I arrived at the shop at 9pm , my car was not out front and I saw nothing that looked like an after hours pick up box. I walked around back and saw a tech still there mopping the floors and then spotted my car in a fenced area. The tech retrieve my car keys, which were still on the hooks with other car keys and brought my car out to me. Made me wonder, if the tech wasn't there, my car would be still be there today and would have to use the loaner for another day or two! Still have yet to see my final paperwork! The Easy Pay System they have is a life saver and allowed me to pay for the repairs with monthly payments ( as I did not have the money on hand to pay up front), but retrieving my car after hours and losing credibility with the mechanic makes me hesitant to highly recommend this place! read more

Came here after my check engine light turned on and these guys were awesome. They let me come in day of to drop off my car and get a diagnostic and they are incredibly detailed with what work needs to be done and what is still good with your car. I worked wit Don mostly and he was super helpful walking me through the process of what had to be done to my car. It was a big fix but they got it all done within 2 days which was great! Everything was clean, the lobby offers a ton of snacks and drinks, customer service was great, and my car is all fixed and running smoothly again! I found Placentia Super Service when I was on Apple Maps trying to find a shop that would remove a rounded bolt in a very annoying to reach place (I'd been lazy and did not want to deal with it anymore). My first call, Andrew answered and told me they'd have me come in to inspect the bolt -- mind you, when I came in, they had eight other cars in the initial garage, and multiple others in the back. They still took me in even after I had to delay due to having to load my car onto a tow truck. After getting there, Jasper greeted me and was also a Subaru driver (Subarus are very annoying to deal with, specially when modding/modded). I was relieved, because I knew that he'd actually know how to tell the technicians with how to deal with it. In addition to that, the technician who worked on my car, Art, is very knowledgeable on tuner cars and many others. Thus, I ended up getting more work done for cheaper than what I was also quoted as it only took them half the amount of time that I had guessed -- I've been to shops that have done work on my car that would normally only take two hours for a DIYer, take four hours. Needless to say, I am very particular about how I do work ob my own car and how shops do work on my car. Overall, I'd recommend them as they are very friendly, catered to customer service, as well as having very good technicians. TL;DR: If you need work, come here. Definitely better than taking it to a Goodyear, Firestone, etc. in my opinion, and actually cares about the customer's inputs and concerns. read more

I went into this place to get quotes and provided my initial test of asking for an oil change. Benjamin quoted me $80 when the dealer charges $60. He ended up negotiating at $50 which was great. Point to this example, if they are initially over charging and then able to bring the price way down, that is a clear indication of trying to price gauge. Im sure the services they provide are outstanding but this review is regarding their premium pricing. Also I previously went to 4 other places (including the dealer) and this one is the only one adding excessive services. Not consistent and an additional grand. What is the point of leaving the dealer ship service ? Advice to future customers, show copies of dealer pricing and negotiate if you decide to come here. Negotiate on the pricing!! read more

Called for a rough price estimate on some repairs and was given the run around. The gentlemen on the phone was extremely rude, pretentious, and very unwilling to hear what I had to say. He even went as far as to state "well why don't you fix it yourself". Had a crazy incident where I hit a large moving metal object on the freeway....disaster. Got towed to this local body shop and they were super helpful and accommodating despite just "walking in". Front desk was super helpful - I can't remember his name but sits right at the front - he was honest and gave me advice on what I was looking at. Good service if you have an car that's isn't modified. If your car has mods don't take it here because they won't work on it. But other then that they are a good shop I'd recommend to anyone looking for a shop that's knowledgeable and trustworthy. Updating my review from 1* to 5* Like everyone i read the good review regarding this place so called them on Wednesday to get the quote for brake repair. Luckily Bob picked my call, Bob reviews are great in here , and he did assist me with all the questions very professionally. So after talking i knew like everyone else i will also get great customer service and went ahead and asked for availability to have my break check and then repair. Bob quickly looked into his calendar and told me Saturday 10:00AM is open slot. Perfect i booked that. Today i went there at 10:00AM, guess what??? They say we have wait time of 2-3 hrs . I was like I talked to Bob and have appointment and the person says well we didn't knew if you gonna show up ..!!! I'm like what???? (If you think people will never show up appo then please don't bother to give them any appointment just ask them for walk-in) Update: I got the call from Bob asking why I left the shop as he came to shop around 10:15AM and when he asked his staff regarding me,as i was the first person on his list of appointments. I told him what happened at shop and he was very disappointed as client having appointments gets the priority. Bob quickly reschedule my appointment to 11am. Luckily i live near to this place and plus my initial impression of Bob was good I thought to give another chance. I show up at my scheduled time and was greeted very professionally by Bob. They ran the safety inspection for my brakes and shared me a digital report (Great software). My car needed Brake replacement and new rotors. Price was reasonable and Bob said parts can be available in 15min if i want to go ahead with the job. I was happy with the service and trusted him so went ahead and initited repair work. I had concerned regarding my air conditioner as well so asked Bob if he can check. He took care of that and said that's there freon leak due to a Part and they can replace it with No cost. (Very much appreciated) Overall it was a very pleasant experience like i wanted and what everyone else has talked about in the reviews. Bob earned my business and would definitely recommend this place. I can say Bob was very professional right from the time i first talked to him over the phone till i met and my car was fixed. I've been coming here for 4 years or so. The owner Bob has always been so incredible and helpful. It's tough for a young woman to find a mechanic she can trust, which is why I kept coming back. They have lots of great stuff in their lobby to make your wait worth it. I drove 30 miles a few weeks ago (moved out of the area about a year ago) to get an oil change, I had a voucher and didn't mind visiting the area. I don't want to dwell on the negative since I do truly recommend this place. But I go to mechanics who can be respectful of the vehicle owner. First thing that happened was the guy (not the owner I usually see) made me feel ashamed for waiting so long to get my oil changed. Not his job. I changed my oil 2 days after the check oil light came on. I know how cars work, don't treat me like a baby. If I want to wait until the last possible second and risk screwing up my car, then that's my problem, not yours. Second thing.. I've been through a lot of hardship the last few months and I can't afford repairs let alone an oil change (I paid with a voucher!). If your customer draws that line in the beginning, it's disrespectful to keep pushing. I understand you guys are obligated to tell me what's going on with my car, but it should stop there. Hand me the paper and let it be. I had to do so much to get the guy there to leave me alone about it. I shouldn't have to tell you my personal misfortunes for you to stop pushing 3k of repairs on me. But that's what I had to do! Not to mention this conversation occurred after I waited 2 hours for al oil change when I made an appointment. TLDR; the owners of this place are great, but it seems they may have brought on some new people who need to catch up to the standard. I left feeling disrespected and late to another appointment because it took two hours for an oil change that I had made an appointment for days earlier. So I won't be back since it's far for me now anyway but I wish the owners the best of luck and I hope that this small thing can be improved upon. read more

I recently bought a used Chevy Spark, car had brake problems soon after bringing it home: contaminated brake fluid diagnosed by chevy dealer, which ruined the front calipers & master cylinder. I had taken the car to the chevy dealer (low miles, assumed warranty would take care of it). When the Chevy dealer diagnosed it as contamination of the Brake fluid, I knew the warranty would not cover the work. I called Placentia Super Service, and spoke to Lori, who gave me an estimate within the hour, which was 25% below the dealer price. She recommended a tow truck provider, which I called and had the car delivered to Placentia Super Service. The Brake system had to be flushed, master cylinder, front calipers & pads, new rear wheel cylinders were part of the estimate. Later the rear cylinders that were in the car were inspected, and were deemed acceptable for reuse in the car. However, the mechanic was not informed of this, and installed the new brake cylinders. Service Manager Don Moritz did not charge us for the rear brake cylinders, and associated labor. I was quite impressed with the honesty Don showed my wife and I, This shop gets 5 stars in my Book! read more

I always dread taking my Lexus in for maintenance. Go to the dealer and they manage to find SO many things that they can do, for a price of course. This car has been great as far as maintenance costs have gone, so I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop and get a giant bill like every other car I have owned. My 90k service was due, so I called around, trying to be an informed consumer in the limited time I have to research these things. I got so super lucky to find this place! I got my service, done in short order, with amazing communication through out, all for a price that I considered very reasonable. I really want to like this place. I went here for a second time, because my warranty company had this shop listed. Well, my engine light went on and I took it into the shop. I had gotten breakfast right before my appointment. They went ahead and did a general checkup & car was set to be there a few days for a battery and radiator replacement. I didn't realize until I got home, I left my food there. So I gave them a call and asked as a favor, if someone could throw away the food in the picture. The guy on the phone sounded so offended, told me he had never been asked that. I had asked politely and told him, I would have done it myself, but I was already home. So the pic, is how I got my car back. I wasn't going to say anything, but my friends said that wasn't professional. One, throwing that small thing away was below them. Two, they made sure to send a message by taking the carton apart into pieces and leaving that mess on my floor (there was more, but I picked it up). I was utterly disappointed.
