I want to keep this simple: Sandwich was Mega Roast Beef (they usually don't make them)... it had thick slices of tasty roast beef with big piles. Since this was my first time here I didn't know what to expect but worth what i paid. The women who made my sandwich was impressive as she actually came out to ask me what I wanted on it and when i was done she took my tray. What sandwich place has that kind of customer service? The bread comes toasted which was okay; it was an Italian style roast beef and was pretty good. If you get the roast beef I recommend lettuce and provolone. I didn't think about it but it would have made the sandwich even better. Place was nice inside for being close to the VA. I ate here today and I got some kind of Italian type sandwich. It was amazing. I was really skeptical because they have a really poor selection of sides and the potato salad is from a container I think. But they did not fail on the most important part-the sandwich. It was huge and the bread was really fresh and you could tell. The prices were also really cheap. My daughter kids meal, a ginormous sandwich, chips and potato salad was around $15. So I got on yelp looking for a good sandwich place. After looking at their menu it sounded really good so I went. I drove in from Sahuarita and was excited to try it. I ordered a half turkey club and a whole Planet Sub and added cheddar cheese and black olives. I also asked for no mayonnaise and mustard. When I finally got home I opened my sandwich up and it was covered with mustard and mayonnaise. For me just the smell of mustard makes me want to throw up. Unfortunately, I cannot give a good review because I did not get to try my sandwich. Also, I did not know this but both subs were served hot. My husband and I stopped here for the first time ever. We shared the THE PLANET SUB (697) Premium Roast Beef, Oven Roasted Turkey, Smoked Ham, Bacon, Swiss, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Dijon, Mayonnaise. It was AWESOME!!! Loaded with delicious meats, crispy bacon, melted Swiss cheese etc. It was made quickly, heated without being burnt and absolutely delicious. Wish we had one in Goodyear AZ. My husband and I love his sub shop. We recently moved to Tucson and we tried it out as keep coming back! My husband is a big eater, but he gets filled up on just the half. My husband is a really tough cookie to please (I've cried a lot in the past! Lol) but he keeps saying "this is really so good!" He likes it better than any sandwich place. We've tried many on the menu and can't pick which is our favorite!! You've got to try it!! Also, the owner had been here each time. He personally makes the sandwiches and brings it to us. You can keep your Subway's, Firehouse, PJ's, East Coast Super, Eegees, or any other sub place you can think of; I'll take Planet Sub over all of them. I go at least once a week during lunch and have not been disappointed yet. I usually go with the Dagwood or Super Hero and they are both better than any sub I've had in Tucson. Full disclosure, I've only ordered cold subs, except once. I can vouch for The Cuban as a hot sandwich, how can you go wrong with pork, mustard, and pickles. If you like the ingredients of the sandwich, I dont see how you can go wrong, just order it the way you like it, hot or cold. Be ready for a friendly teasing if you order a cold sandwich. Last but not least, the unsung hero is the bread. Makes all the difference in the world to me. I forgot to write a review. I should have a long time ago. A few of us were on a work related trip a few months ago. We were not familiar with the area, but happened to be close enough to drop in for a quick bite to go. Without going into too much detail, I was pretty blown away with how good the sandwiches were. And whoever was there that day was super nice to us. We came back the next day and did it all over again. Altogether, I had the turkey club and the Experience. Both were really good. However, the Experience is probably one of the best tasting sub style sandwiches I have had. I would definitely recommend this place. I really like Planet Sub so it makes me sad, but I have to dock them a star based on my last visit. I was thrilled to see they were on Groupon and bought three vouchers. The first time I tried using one, the cashier didn't know how it worked, but they took it without question. On my most recent visit, I was grabbing dinner to go for my boyfriend and myself. I ordered a Big Dipper for him and a half Green Turkey for myself and specified the order was to go. The cashier was a really young kid who seemed very clueless. He asked a female worker how to do everything. When I presented my phone to use the Groupon, the kid once again asked her what to do and she said "We don't take those." I was confused; I know how Groupon works and they kinda have to take them. She said, "I'm sorry but an employee put us on Groupon and he wasn't authorized to do so. You'll have to contact Groupon." I was annoyed. My order was $18 and change, which is pricey for two sandwiches. I might not have come without a Groupon or special deal. I had already ordered so I sucked it up and paid full price. I got a drink while I was waiting. A lot of options in the Coke Freestyle machine were out. When the young cashier brought my sandwiches out, he had only packed one to go. I admit by this point I was perturbed and short with the kid. I said "This is to go." And he said, "Oh. You wanted both sandwiches to go?" and slipped my Green Turkey in with the Big Dipper. I suppose I could've wanted to eat in and take my other sandwich to go, but that was weird. The lady was nice and apologetic for the apparent Groupon mixup. When I got home, I discovered my Green Turkey wasn't what I ordered. There was no guacamole, no onions, no sprouts, and no salsa. It appeared to be a Turkey Club instead. I was super disappointed. While dining in or ordering out is probably an entirely different experience, I would advise against placing group orders with Planet Sub. The office that I work in placed a group order and it was completely disappointing. The first issue was that the online ordering system allowed group members to edit or remove other members' meals, and the layout of the website was confusing, making it easy to accidentally modify someone else's order. The second issue is that the morning of the date we were going to get this group order, we received a call saying ALL of the soups were sold out, so anyone who ordered a half sandwich and a soup were now just getting a full sandwich. There were many different kinds of soups on our order, and I find it both disappointing and surprising that every single soup they offer was sold out. How does that happen? The one plus (or maybe a red flag) is they mentioned they could deliver to us when they called. Once our order arrived, the delivery person was kind enough to help sort out all of the food and distribute it to those who ordered items. Each item was bagged individually with the recipient's name on it. However, the delivery person noted that some people's items may have gotten mixed up and are in the wrong bags. Additionally, because of the bug on the website allowing people to edit each others' items in the group order, some items were flat out wrong or missing, including the sandwich I had ordered. Luckily the restaurant brought some "extras" and after some people traded sandwiches I ended up with a BLT. I read other reviews saying that they claim to make the bread in-house, but honestly I felt that it was really bland and cheap tasting bread. It had a really thin crust and was really reminiscent of cheap school lunch sub bread. Also, it was wheat, which is not my first choice for a BLT. Additionally, the bacon was definitely the super paper-thin microwavable kind -- come on, even Eegee's serves better bacon. I'm not necessarily going to speak for my whole office, but this was a really bad experience for me and several others and we probably won't be ordering again. I also am going to pass on ever visiting the store for an individual order, either. read more

Over the course of two weeks, I called them 5 times asking if they had any of their freshly made gluten free bread (so exciting for someone who can't eat gluten!) -- they said no each time. Twice they said they would make it tomorrow morning and to check back in, but both times they failed to follow through.
