As you read this review, keep in mind that I am super-picky about hotels. Yes, I am that person who travels with Clorox wipes because not everyone has the same standard of clean. That being said, I was delighted with Marriott Pleasanton. We stayed there for a family party. The room was clean - I did not have to follow up on the maid services. The bed was comfortable although the pillows were a little too soft and I felt like I was being smothered at times. :o) The room offers a safe and a fridge. The only drawbacks being the lack of free wi-fi and a truly, remarkably small closet. And we were only staying 3 nights with one medium-sized bag each - and it was still small. The pool was not available as it was under maintenance but then it was February. The area looked nice from what we could see. Plenty of seating and comfortable. The hotel had lots of space for meetings of all sizes and the staff was very amenable to making these spaces available. The lobby area was inviting and comfy. We ate at the lounge our first night as we arrived late. Lots of offerings from small plates to full meals. The fish tacos were great! The lounge can be noisy if full as it is open to the lobby, this can be distracting for those seeking just to relax. Devon makes a mean martini and offered excellent service. Racquel - not so much. She left a stack of menus on our small table even after we informed her we only wanted drinks - didn't even take them when she brought the drinks. She did not know the stock of the bar and made a lousy martini. Devon got a great tip - Racquel... Our only true disappointment was breakfast. I did the Eggs Benedict and it was cooked well and tasted great. It was not worth $15. My sister tried the buffet. Also, well cooked but wasn't thrilled with the choices and not worth $20. We went to Coco's the next morning. The staff were very friendly and courteous. All in all, I was very happy and would stay there again happily. read more

I didn't travel with anyone because I went to a church conference on Apr 20 + 21. But it has the fastest room service I've ever seen -- anytime you order breakfast/lunch/dinner it's at your room in 30-40 minutes. I've been at hotels where you have to wait 1-2 hours depending on the time. And it has a great swimming pool with complimentary towels and nice pool-side furniture for swimmers and pool loungers. The room was clean and quiet at night on Friday + Saturday night, which was good. I would definitely stay again if I travel to the Dublin area. read more

I stayed here due to needing to be in San Francisco early in the morning and wanted to at least be past the point of where the 680 meets the 580. The hotel is just past that in a quiet neighborhood. The parking was good, the staff friendly, beds and pillows were awesome, nice toiletries, and room service available till 11. For the price my expectations were exceeded. The staff is great and the location is near perfect. The hotel rooms themselves are dated and nothing special except the bed. It was super comfy. Because the hotel is so close to a certain high tech company's HQ they don't seem to have much motivation to renovate the rooms. Hopefully the sheratons upcoming renovation will raise the bar for all hotels in the neighborhood. I'm a Marriott gal. It's been my chain of choice ever since my road warrior days. To give this property three stars is tough. On my last trip to Pleasanton I stayed here. No hot water the day I arrived or into the evening. Apparently hot water is only available in the mornings. Pleasanton Marriott has a whirlpool/spa that's freezing cold. Upon getting out of the freezing cold whirlpool/spa I found you are locked in the pool area. You are forced to exit through an emergency only gate and walk around the building through the front door. I'd stay at another hotel nearby if you are looking for an improved Marriott experience. read more

I would give them 0 stars if it were an option. DO NOT be fooled by the nice inside appearance of the hotel. Every single employee that worked at this hotel was incapable of doing their job. Absolutely hands down the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with and I mean worst, worse than comcast. I booked the hotel for a wedding block as my wedding was in Livermore 20minutes away. Maja Panic the sales manager is the hardest person to get a hold of. She does not answer her phone nor does she return phone calls or emails, for days. I called her five times in one day with no response. 1. They did not congratulate me for getting married and seemed irritated I asked to check in early. We could not so they said they would call us when a room was ready but did not ask for a phone number until we gave it to them. They never called. We tried to check in at 3pm (room check in time) the bride & grooms room was not ready yet. At 4pm we finally checked in, apparently our room had been ready for some time but never received a phone call. 2. They tried to charge us for a comped hotel room and messed up the number of nights we were staying and had to call someone else to fix the problem. After the fact they did charge us. Rooms are apparently still $50 when "comped" which was not disclosed. 3. The wedding party was getting ready at the hotel. I had booked (and paid for) a room to get ready in they tried to charge us an extra night because the room was blocked off the night before in order for early check in at 10:30AM which I was told was not a problem. Then they tried to charge us for removing a bed and adding chairs to the room which again I was told was not a problem before, 4. The front desk was not informed of the Shuttle Schedule that was "complimentary" provided by the hotel which they fought me tooth and nail to even provide although it is written in the contract that the Marriott would provide transportation for my wedding hotel guests to the venue and back. I had to make the shuttle schedule and prepare times as this was too difficult a task for Maja. 5. On Friday morning the day of the wedding they lost the shuttle schedule and asked me the bride if I knew the shuttle times or where the schedule had gone on the day of my wedding. 6. My groom went to the front and ordered champagne and glasses to be sent up to the girls and bride getting ready. He specifically said not to mention anything to me. Five minutes later she proceeds to come up to me, my entire family, friends, and my groom and yell which priced bottle would he like to purchase the $34 or $48 bottle. RUDE RUDE RUDE. You just don't do that. 7. I paid for the bar to stay open on my wedding night at the hotel until 1:30AM, they closed it at 1AM, cut off all my guests and rudely told them to leave. 8. The security guard rudely yelled at one of my 55 year old guests who was smoking outside the hotel for having a glass of wine just outside the door. 9. After all was said and done they charged both my husbands and my cards, over charging us immediately after the wedding by $600. Oh and did I mention they are IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of and do not EVER call back. We are still working on clearing up the charges waiting for Maja Panic or someone at the hotel to call us back. DON"T BE FOOLED BY THE INTERIOR (gorgeous) THE STAFF IS INCOMPETENT, NOT FRIENDLY and NOT ACCOMADATING, I will never stay there ever again, and probably not another Marriott after my experience. You would think a hotel would know something about customer service but apparently they don't. If you're having a wedding especially don't stay there, it's not worth it. read more

The Pleasanton Marriott is conveniently located off of the 580 freeway. The hotel is clean. The rooms -- including the bathrooms -- are clean. Parking is free. However, Internet access -- which is about $12.95 per day -- is not free. Nonetheless, the staff were very friendly. If you are in the Pleasanton area, I would recommend this hotel. read more

First off the staff at the front was very friendly, attentive and helpfully . My issue is when I got to my room, the floor had about a half of shredded check all over it. the floor... I highly doubt the floor was vacuumed that day... ... This is inexcusable at a Marriott. I left a long positive review. I gave them 5 stars. But now I've changed my review over the span of a few hours. As my night progressed we were basically left stranded when we were promised a ride. You get rides to and from the train station. My mom ended up getting bit by a spider and has a huge swollen,hard, mass on the back of her thigh. (I'll post a picture as proof) and I asked if we can please get a ride. She told me the driver was out. I asked if anyone else could she said no. She offers to call a cab but it's still gonna take 15-20 minutes. It was still a "well sorry he is with other customers he can't pick you up for 25 minutes". Don't tell me to call you right away for you to come. I called a few minutes before we arrived. (The station is literally 8 minutes away by car). And still no one was there so we walked. My mom had the bite on her leg so she could barely walk without pain but you know. I didn't take my car because we were promised a ride. Annoying. And room service argued with us to order at 10:50 pm. It says until 11. No "well the food takes 45 'minutes". They charge tax, 20% interest. Which is insane. Makes my $30 meal 38. Rip off. This review is going to be very mixed and I wish I could give a five star review for some of the staff and a one for the others, but here it goes: I just had my wedding in Livermore and we stayed here. I had 60 rooms booked, so that was a substantial portion of the hotel which, I mistakenly thought, would mean that I would get at least ok treatment. Wrong. First, my mother in law slaved away at making welcome bags for all of the guests and the hotel was to hand them out at check out. Imagine my surprise when, on the morning of my wedding, I learn that of my 5 bridesmaids, 2 of them had not received welcome baskets the following day. I also had spoken to several people the night before that had not received them either. So, knowing that a lot more people would be checking in on the day of the wedding, I called operations to inquire about the welcome bags and to remind them that they needed to be passed out to all guests in the block. The response I received was mind-blowing "Well, you guys were loud last night and we had a lot of noise complaints." I was shocked and explained that I had actually been asleep since 11:00 the night before and that, even if I was loud, that does not excuse them from passing out the bags. Also, the staff was incredibly, I mean incredibly, rude to me on the morning of my wedding, essentially yelling at me because my guests were loud while I was getting my hair and make-up done. They were reluctant, but eventually did pass them out. That's not the end of it though - at check in, everyone was told that they needed a card to hold the room but that they could check out and pay for all charges on a different card. Low and behold, on Sunday morning, everyone wakes up to a bill indicating that the card on file had been charged, despite their repeated assurances to the contrary. I still have several guests who are trying to straighten this out and others who were over billed or charged twice. Also, my guests essentially had security chasing them around the hotel the entire weekend. This is absolutely not the hotel for people that like to let loose after a wedding. My friends are loud and like to party to the wee hours of the morning - if your friends are the same, I would strongly advise you to choose another hotel (I thought we could just deal with it, because other yelp reviews had expressed this concern, but it really is not something that you can deal with). I believe the cops were eventually called on my guests at around 2:00 am. Other hotels that we have stayed at for weddings have found ways to accommodate noisy guests, but this hotel has not. They will simply have security tail you, threaten you, and call the cops on you all night. Unless they can figure out a way to allow wedding guests to have fun at the after-party, I would not recommend staying here for your wedding. All of that said, Don, the salesperson that I dealt with until the actual event, was phenomenal! Even after the event, when I called him to tell him that the hotel was, literally, the worst part of my wedding, he felt personally responsible, even though he is not involved in the day-to-day operations, and has worked extremely hard to fix the situation, the best he can. Don has stated that they are trying to put processes in place so that no other bride has to deal with this nonsense and, if Don is on top of it, I believe it will happen. In a nutshell, if Don was running the place, I would absolutely recommend it, He is a hard worker and really goes above and beyond for his customers. However, unless you can get reassurances that the above will not happen to you and that the actual day-to-day staff will not treat you like absolute garbage on the day of your wedding, I would absolutely, whole-heartedly not recommend booking this hotel for your wedding. read more

I recently got married and use the Marriott to get ready and stay the night of our wedding before going on our honeymoon. Mya who I worked with to book rooms for those attending the wedding was helpful. She offered for me to stay on Friday night in a large room (no real bridal suite) and them move me and my husband to another room after our wedding- so we have more privacy. But after my wedding their was a little confusion. They had us in both rooms and didn't move my items to the new room. So we had to move everything ourselves. :-( read more

Pretty much the only thing that gave this hotel 2 stars for me was the kind girl at the front desk. We initially made a reservation over the phone. They couldn't locate us with our card number or name, so we went ahead to book the room at the time that we attempted to check in. They failed to give us the included breakfast that we asked for so I had to take care of that the next morning. The concierge room is not open on Saturday's which is a huge disappointment. Then I decided to go down and purchase food from the bar, and the bartender was rude and did not give me service... he had a bunch of drinkers and it didn't matter if I had arrived before them, he decided to service them first. Bad... bad decision since I was about to order at least $100 worth of food. Last straw was when we saw a double charge on our cards. The person who called to adjust it, said that we "made out" because the rate we paid was less than what we had booked.... SERIOUSLY? THAT'S WHAT YOU TELL YOUR CUSTOMER WHO YOU JUST CHARGED TWICE!?!?! Do you know my circumstances at all, or what that may have done to my account? You would think they would have offered something to us by way of a discount on an additional night to rectify their wrong. The room itself was ok, the outside back pool area was nice. read more

I stayed at this Pleasanton Marriott as part of a work-related interviewing event, and found the experience adequate. The hotel lobby is extremely spacious, with ample seated waiting room and a small desk for check-in. There's additionally a restaurant and bar easily accessible for those looking for a bite or to kill some time. This is important, considering that there's not much nearby the hotel if you're looking to explore. I checked-in reasonably quickly, considering the long-line that had built up, and was directed to my room. The room itself was clean, had a modern TV (unexpected) and a well-maintained bathroom. To be frank, other than the TV this could have been any number of basic hotel rooms around the country. As a quick aside, the walls are thinner than you'd expect; I ended up hearing some heated conversations by my neighbors. Overall, I think this Pleasanton Marriott isn't particular interesting or novel, but does a fine job of providing a livable space for a night or two. read more

My party was discriminated against. I paid for 2 hotel rooms to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday. She had 7 guests staying overnight to celebrate her birthday. All but 2 of the children in the group were African American, one was Hispanic. I also paid for Club Lounge access. When my daughter and her friends went down to eat breakfast, they were questioned about how many people were in their room, room number etc. They were told they would have to pay for breakfast if there were more than 2 people eating per room. When I was notified, I went down to talk to the manager and told him there was nothing in my reservation or on the site that I saw when I booked the rooms that said only two people were allowed club lounge access. The manager said that he would allow the children in my party to eat breakfast this one time. While we were in the club lounge we saw several groups come into the club lounge with parties of more than two and they were not questioned upon entrance and were allowed to eat breakfast in peace. I spoke with a white woman who was there with her white husband and two white children and she said that they were not question at all when they came in to eat breakfast. There was also an Asian family with them with four children and they were also not question when they enter the club lounge. In addition when my daughter tried to enter the club lounge with our dog she was told the dogs were not allowed in the club lounge. While I was in the club lounge eating breakfast I saw two white woman into the club lounge with their dogs and we're not question or approached whatsoever. This was a gross and blatant display of racial inequity and I want these issues addressed before I will ever stay in a Marriott hotel again. These children of color were treated like second-class citizens and this ruined my daughter's birthday. read more

I just had my wedding at Ruby Hills Golf Club and used Marriott as my preferred hotel for the guests. The rooms were pretty typical but renovated so it'll be nicer than most other rooms you'll find in that vicinity. I checked out all their competitors and Marriott definitely had the best all around convenience and deals. The lobby area is super contemporary and looks really great for photos. Our videographer had a field day capturing all the details. Their back area with the firepit and pool lounge area is small but very nicely decorated and i saw several guests enjoying it the morning of the wedding. Overall, the 5 stars come from the staff, I would give them 10 if I could. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating through the entire experience - full service from beginning to end. I worked with Geoff, Nathan, Maja, Donn and Annie and they were helpful from welcome bag distribution, to working out all the details and costs, to the special shuttle services, to helping the guests at check in and during the whole weekend. Geoff/Maja worked hard to put together a great package for me since we had a tight budget. We ended up booking almost 30 rooms there but I'd like to think they would have been just as helpful and kind had we only booked 5. Geoff helped initially and then passed me to Maja as we got closer to the date. The transition was absolutely seamless and Maja was always available that weekend and I didn't hesitate to bother her more than once. She was extremely patient and executed my every request flawlessly. I highly recommend Marriott for your wedding hotel if you're getting married in the Livermore area. This team of professionals will ensure you have NOTHING to worry about or think about on your wedding weekend, they take care of EVERYTHING for you! read more

I'm very loyal to the Marriott brand and have been a member of their highest tier rewards program for several years. Traveling so often I know I'm going to experience some anomalies, but some things simply gross me out... I checked into my room and found a plate of strawberries on the floor in the hallway and hair on the bed comforter. The front desk clerk offered to call room service to clean up the leftover "breakfast" plate and housekeeping to change my linens. I'm frugal with Mother Nature's resources and declined the new linens already feeling guilty that they are washed after only one use. Wish they would have thrown me a few bonus points or something, but I guess they are frugal with those... Good thing there are more options for hotels within the brand in the area. read more

I've been coming to the Pleasanton Marriott on a weekly basis for business for many many months. The first thing that strikes me every time I arrive is the warm, welcoming feeling that I get as I walk through the door. The staff behind the front desk couldn't be friendlier (morning, day, and night). They make people feel welcome and at home as they cross through the lobby. I also notice that they have a beautiful way of treating each person's concerns (big or little) as though it's important with extreme professionalism. Everyone from the bellmen to the managers greet me with a smile as I come and go each day. It's a great place to come back to each evening to unwind, decompress and relax after work. The entire front staff (led by their supervisor, Tim), needs to be commended for the excellent service they provide. There's a great fun ambiance at the hotel. At the bar, the bartenders (Devon, Loreal, and Delmi) are exceptional. They are so attentive and friendly. I often get back late after work and eat at the hotel. The food is extraordinary. I've enjoyed everything I've tasted but my favorite dinner is the Filet Mignon. They have great appetizers, salads, and outstanding soups (I love the tomato bisque). Ask the staff and they will be happy to give you helpful recommendations. On Tuesday evenings they have a manager's reception/cocktail party with incredible appetizers. The managers, John, Haas, and Steve are at these events, chatting with guest and bending over backwards to make sure everyone is having a wonderful time. I've met the chef, Aaron, and it's clear that he and his cooks (which he speaks highly of, though they are behind the scenes) take pride in what they do and go out of their way to create amazingly delicious mouthwatering food (the food speaks for itself). At least once a week, I'll order room service. Like the rest of the staff the room service attendant (thank you, Kevin) is outstandingly nice, friendly, and curteous. The concierge lounge is open for breakfast in the morning and in the evening Monday through Thursday. Every time I enter the concierge lounge the attendants greet me with a warm welcoming smile. For breakfast there is always a great spread of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, pastries, juices, etc. The wide range of choices make it easy to be as healthy or naughty as you'd like. Likewise, in the evening, there is always a beautiful spread of appetizers, cheese, fruit, salad, etc. Don't be surprised if you're full when you leave. Oh - there's desert too later in the evening. The attendants in the lounge are friendly and go out of their way to meet everyone's need. The rooms in the hotel are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The housekeeping staff is very pleasant and does an excellent job. It's so nice coming back to a room, that smells good, looks good, feels good. They have a wonderful nightly turndown service too (thanks Genaro). The staff pays great attention to detail and won't hesitate to go out of their way to make your stay a little more pleasant. One last but beautiful example, was the week I was at the hotel on my birthday. When the bartender (Loreal) found out, she told me that the hotel would do something special. I thought she was being nice and didn't expect anything but when I got back to my room on my birthday, there was a tray of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me. That is just one of many examples of how the staff in this hotel works together to make their guest happy. Staying at this hotel is a 5 star hotel experience. The management team deserves a Kudos. The staff is exceptional. I'll be coming back to the hotel every week for at least the next few months. Not surprisingly, the hotel is usually 100% full during the week so I suggest booking your room early. read more

I'm a hilton fan so its hard to give this place a 5 star review. All in all the service was good and the rooms were nice. I was disapointed that they could not help me with a phone charger that went missing. There was no attempt by the front counter staff to help me out. I have lived in and out of hotels enough to know that there is a lost and found bow somewhere that housed at least a charger that I could have barrowed for the night. The guy at the counter did not even look for me. Several times at multiple Hilton's the front counter staff went out of there way to make sure my phone got charged, not this place. read more

I work at a very large company in the east bay area, and started planning an event at this hotel due to its close proximity to our office location. 3 weeks before the event was supposed to take place, the event coordinator called and informed me that my event had been double booked and that they could no longer accommodate my event. Needless to say, I was shocked! What surprised me even more, is that the event coordinator offered no solution to the fiasco. She said she'd "call around," but given the fact that she couldn't solidify a space for my company at her own place of work, I was definitely not going to trust her to find me another location in the area. They could have at least offered a discounted event fee for future events to give me some sort of incentive to come back! Luckily for me, the Pleasanton Hilton was able to accommodate our meeting (with less than 3 weeks to spare!) and acted very professional, and are cheaper too! I will definitely not be returning to the Pleasanton Marriott, and will most likely stay away from Marriott's in the future due to the experience. Which really is too bad. I made a reservation over the phone and when I tried to check in they couldn't find me because they had spelled my name wrong but it was all sorted out at the end. They were very nice and patient with me. There's no microwave but if you ask they'll send one up to you. There's no toothpaste either you have to buy one little tiny tub for $2 that sucked and I couldn't find the wifi password or the TV guide ... However the staff is really nice and the Marriott hotel has a really cute style . read more

We spent a lot of time here at Marriott over the summer and still keep coming back because my husband work is down here at Dublin and Pleasanton, I don't mind paying 20$ for buffet breakfast but the price is outright outrageous. Nice enough, rooms are small. No restaurant to speak of, you have to eat at the bar during the day. Good location. Came here with my wife to relax for a night and watch movies on pay per view (no not porn). Some how we found the only hotel left in the USA that doesn't have a pay per view movie option????, so if you want to watch movies in your hotel this is not the place for you, and the regular TV reception was weak at best. I recently stayed at this Marriott for a business meeting. The entire experience was definitely elevated from my previous stays. The check in was efficient and friendly with a fully booked hotel. This hotel offers a generous club room for bonvoy members. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. WiFi worked great and offered free to bonvoy members. Lastly, I suffered a bad leg cramp which immobilized me for some time in the morning. The hotel promptly assisted me with a wheelchair for me to attend my meeting. Great service!
