One of the many poke places that has popped up in Pasadena. This is definitely one of the few on the top of my list. Service was great, menu was clear, and food was tasty and fresh! One thing that sets it apart from the rest is that this place has blue crab!! For $1 extra, you can choose blue crab as one of your fish options. Of course, they have all your usual choices for fish (salmon, tuna, etc.) Prices are about the same as all the other poke places around town. Since this place is owned by Flour + Tea, they have a wide selection of teas and boba drinks. And if you order a poke bowl, you can get a combo with a green or black tea at a discount! Parking: Street metered parking. But since this is in the business district of Pasadena, parking is definitely much easier on the weekends! read more

I come here once every few weeks for a drink and have had their poke bowls twice. The parking is supposedly in the back on Hudson... but it does not make sense to park there because the entrance is on Lake and the store is in the middle of the block. There are a ::few:: parallel parking spots on the street which you have to pay for. So if you can, just walk over or park in the lot between Lake and Mentor. I would say if you're looking for a meal from the poke, you have to pick the 3 scoop option or more. I have been pleasantly surprised at the freshness and the good flavoring of the ingredients. The drinks tend towards the WAAAAAYYYYY too sweet side, so even if you ask for half sweet, it's usually too sweet for me. There are a lot of options and the hot drinks are fresh-brewed, so that's good. Even though they have a stamp system, your 'free' drink is extremely limited. Like, you can't actually get Thai Tea, the drink I get 70% of the time. Decent place to study. There are a few outlets and there is wifi. read more

I've been here a few times and I've really come to love PokeMix as a fun and healthy lunch spot for a quick bite. I've tried Flour+Tea's original location on Cordova/Arroyo, but it's never my first choice due to the awkward location for me. I've so happy this location opened a few blocks from where I live. Poke bowl: you can pick from small - med - large. I've only ever had the small, which is two scoops of fish (8.75, I think is the price, they increased it from $7.50). Rice (white/brown), greens, or half/half for your base, and then some nice toppings - avocado is an additional $1, but they give so much! I've never had a problem with portion size here, and they've always been extremely generous with their fish and toppings (I can never finish it). I would say the fish is very tasty and fresh. Tea - They also serve their speciality teas here, which is a fun addition to your poke bowl. I enjoy trying their specials for the day, or the samples they have. The staff is more than happy to adjust flavors, like sugar. The space is super cute with plenty of seating. The staff is tremendously nice and they're very willing to help you and answer any questions. I walk here, but I can imagine parking being frustrating along Lake, but there's a pay lot behind Soul Cycle/Green Street Cafe/Secco area (not sure about validation). You also get to pick white/brown rice or greens to go with it or just get half n half. They have sides like pickled ginger, seaweeds, avocado, cucumbers. They also have sauces. I had the poke sauce and spicy mango sauce on the side which is a sweet and spicy sauce. It's a little over on the pricey side but well worth it for those sashimi cravings! This place is a guaranteed happy meal for our whole sushi-loving family. Since my kids are eating it, the freshness of the fish is the most important to me- and they've consistently had fresh and tasty salmon, scallops, and shrimp. My husband has also been happy with their tuna and yellowtail. Their selection of non-spicy sauces (especially the sweet ginger and the regular poke) are popular with the kids. Since my little guy mooches (an increasingly large quantity) from my bowl, I am appreciative of their good sized portions. Today, when the server found out my son was sharing my bowl, he immediately offered to add in even more brown rice. He also offered to prepare fresh salmon instead of the marinated salmon if my son preferred super nice!). Their service has always been consistently friendly and helpful- both at the counter, as well as at the table (the super nice asian guy some of the other reviewers have mentioned comes by, checks in, offers additional sauce, and is *always* smiling). They're also generous with their tea samples- which are super yummy! We usually get the traditional milk teas that are offered as a lunch special- but their grass jelly add-in is the best I've ever had. New food trend! All that popularity surrounding poke has made this place busy. Located on lake, parking on the street is very hard to find (lol) but they have a rear lot which is great! The servers here are really friendly and helpful. Ingredients are really fresh. I hope they have more choices for fish such as albacore or yellowtail and i was sad to see their scallops were spicy :( The tuna and salmon themselves were really fresh. I am so glad this place opened up, it's a super refreshing cafe to grab a delicious boba drink or poke dish . I usually frequent Starbucks on lake, so this is a nice alternative to my usual mid afternoon latte. The staff was very friendly and offered me a stamp card since I ordered four drinks. I would love to come back and check out their rice bowls with poke and other fish. I jut love how unique the concept is and am a fan of anything light and fresh. I've been coming here since it opened back in April 2015. I love it here. Since I do crossfit, I follow a very strict diet. Yellowtail and albacore are always fresh. Yellowtail is from Japan and albacore is from Fiji. New items are constantly being added to the line up, e.g., poke rice balls (spicy tuna is my fav) and tea quail eggs (simmered in black tea). Portions are good. I usually get a large poke bowl which gives me 4 different scoops of fish, which yields about 55g of protein. No complaints here. As for teas, I go with my fav iced Almond Oolong milk tea. Depending on my mood, I either pick boba or coffee jelly as add ons. Lunch time can be a little busy but I appreciate the workers try their best to move the line. read more

I like how it's a bakery/tea shop combined and have the poke bar as well. If you want something quick this place is perfect! I ate there about 4 hours ago and I'm craving more. I am a big poke fan! tried pokinometry, bear flag, north shore... and I think this place is more similar to pokinometry since they both have a lot of toppings and more flavors. i like how you can do half rice/half greens here, and they have seaweed! all their toppings are free unlike north shore, but i gotta warn you, all their proteins already have flavors so if you add too much toppings it might get a little too salty and flavorful. It was my first time so i just added all the toppings on mine, the hawaiian sea salt made my poke bowl super salty, good thing i order a drink to wash it down, so maybe dont add all the toppings thinking it will get your money worth, it actually will ruin the taste of the meal! i do have a small complaint about the place, not about the food though. their counters are very high (probably to avoid people's saliva and dust to get to their food) so they cant really hear my order because it blocks the sound, especially during rush lunch hours. i had to keep repeating myself because they cant hear me, i felt like i was yelling at them. First off, I'm a loyal customer here, but my experience today has negated all my good experiences. I've been five times in the last month, and normally have few complaints. Their boba and poke are delicious, and has had me hooked since I've been living near here. However over the past couple of months (I've been upwards of 25 times in the recent months) I have started to notice certain weaknesses, and today was a combination of everything bad- to the point where I will not be coming back for a while. Where to start? 1. The people who work here are not competent at all. Their drinks are hit or miss- they don't have a consistent level of sweetness. If you ask for half sweet, you could either get liquid sugar or a watered down oversteeped tea. 2. They move at a snails pace and the line is always much slower and longer than it looks. And lastly, 3. their customer service is a nightmare. I've always just grinned and beared it when my tea was over sweetened or watered down. But today I asked to add sweetness after they made my half sweet drink taste incredibly bitter. And somehow they made it WORSE with sugar. I was really in the mood for boba, so I went and ordered another one, since they somehow ruined my first order. They apologized, I'll give them credit for that, but they charged me full price for another one. And that was after waiting in line all over again. I was in shock that they were that incredibly clueless when it came to customer service. I've been to this place so often that I recognize everyone that works there!!! This experience was so ridiculously nightmarish that I will not be coming back despite their boba. I will find another place to fill these cravings. read more

This is a very clean and tidy place, which is great when the place serves fish. The fish is fresh as are all of the other ingredients. My daughter has taken to eating this at last twice a week now. The servers are very friendly and helpful. Big smiles. I realllllyyyyy enjoy the peppermint-lavender tea. Add some honey and nirvana. I usually don't like honey in my tea but this is delicious. The mochi rolls are very yummy. Slightly different than the mochi I have had before but the slight difference is amazing. There is parking in the back which helps since that section of Lake Avenue sucks for street parking. We also have tried their home delivery. Ok, this is by far the best place for creative Boba tea flavors. Their Shamrock Gold is one of the best mixed flavored tea I've ever tried throughout 7 years of my Boba fanatic career. However, something I didn't like is the fact that the owner is a little sexist in a way... my BF and I usually goes there for Boba but he's only into chatting with/my BF whenever my BF and I go visit their store. Well, I wonder if the owner knows that I am who nags at my BF to visit his store for a Shamrock most of the time? ... Funny but really not that funny! I came here when I couldn't find parking near my usually poke place during my lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and generous portion sizes here. I got half salmon and half tuna and I feel like I got my money's worth for both meats. The poke tasted fresh and well-seasoned. My only complaint would be that my poke was chopped up into pieces that were not all uniform. It's a small nit picky detail to note, but I feel like this can be indicative of the preparer's care and passion for making poke. I was really excited to try this place. I feel like I paid a moderate amount of money for a poke bowl, but genuinely every piece of fish had gristle in it. It was really disappointing. The rice was cold and hard as if it were sitting out for a while, and the fish was incredibly fishy. I'd ordinarily try to suck it up, ignore it and enjoy my food to the best of my ability--but it was overbearing, and I don't think that's a smart thing to do with any animal products, especially fish. It didn't live up to the hype or ratings that it has on Yelp. I tried the salmon and the albacore, both had no Flavor. I tried them with the spicy mayo sauce it was very bland. I had to tell the girl how much sauce to put into the bowl. It was a largo bowl and she was treated my it like a small. She was being very skimpy with the portions of sauce and another toppings. Another issue is that they don't premix the fish with the toppings before placing the protein on top of the rice. I usually like to add a little extra spice to my Poke but all they had was this vinegary Thai style chili sauce. I would have gladly used the rooster sauce but they didn't have any. Place seemed very cookie cutter with no attention to flavor profiles. Even the garlic flakes were bland. I don't know how they managed that. Passion Tea was good. read more

I love the poke, it's just oh so fishy & good -3 sizes: small-2 scoops ($7.75), medium-3 scoops ($9.75), and large-4 scoops ($11.75) - There are different types of fish a special (which usually cost more), tuna, salmon, etc. -You can select your base which is either salad, rice, or half/half -After that you can select the sauce and they put seaweed on top. The tea is the same as the original location, so one of my favorites from Flour + Tea is the Black Sugar half sweetened.
