I like Pokeworks among the others in the Great Seattle area. There's a three stores in NYC, so I am sure the quality shouldn't be too bad. They did t disappoint me. The staff are friendly. Everything looks so clean and tidy. Plus, the quality of the tuna is better than I expected. The tuna is soft like butter but chewy. I am sure they aren't serving the Chu-Toro quality but it is close. I can feel the fish oil by my tastebuds. It is because a lots of times the other poke serve low grade of ahi tuna which is mushy and lack of fishy taste. I will definitely recommend this to my friends! I really hope I can try out the lotus chip when I get my poke bowl next time. They were not available two days ago and today. read more

Pokéworks represents one of the ideal solutions to the evergreen workplace dilemma. You've forgotten to bring lunch, and want something that'll a) fill you up, b) come out quickly, c) taste good, and d) maybe be healthy to boot. In the Bellevue area, there are few places that fulfill all four criteria, and after having tried Pokéworks two weeks ago I can happily add it to the list. I had a three-scoop dish and miso soup which, combining Yelp check-in rewards with a LevelUp introductory offer I hadn't yet used, ran me about $10. For the price, I got an immense amount of food - heaps and heaps of fish, veggies, and snow crab. More importantly, though, everything tasted fresh and properly spiced, something other poke places tend to struggle with. It's a rare restaurant that serves fish that tastes both like it hasn't been deep-frozen until two hours ago and also like it wasn't drowned in salty sauces, and Pokéworks nails both. Every element of the poke bowl, minus the overwhelming chunk of wasabi which I probably should have spread instead of trying to eyeball tiny chunks of within other chopstickfuls, was appropriately tasty, delicious without overwhelming the rest of the bowl. I think the five-star rating above may be a bit misleading - this isn't a place I'd write home about, this isn't a place I'd go if I weren't already in the area, this isn't so overwhelmingly exciting that I'll gush about it in everyday conversations. That said, for what it is - a quick, healthy, and affordable lunch option - this is the best I've had in downtown Bellevue. I always have a great time when I visit here. The food is always great, service fantastic, and environment very nice. There's a lot of natural lighting so great for taking food photos. Also this is one of the only poke places in Bellevue that offers poke burritos. I made my own burrito with spicy salmon and salmon and lots of other toppings. They were so generous and even gave me more of whatever topping I wanted when I asked. The price came out to around $11 with tax. read more

UPDATE ON MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: The past 2 times I've come here, I've gotten extremely sick. The fish is left out too long, and has been prepared poorly. I literally spat out multiple chunks of the salmon and ahi before throwing it away today because of how inedible it was, and I write this review as I'm sick to my stomach trying not to vomit. The staff is always pleasant and normally are very good about cross contamination and glove changing - but as kind as they are they've stopped the glove changing as frequent as it used to be on top of the food quality going from an 8 to a 0. A mix between contamination and old fish = me not leaving the restroom for the next 2 days. I'm so sad and let down, this used to be one of my favorite places to eat and now I won't be returning. I used to enjoy eating here, when I ate fish. Then I went vegan and I choose to avoid soy to the best of my abilities. So, a few employees would discount me for not having protein, or when they brought it on the menu, charge me a kids bowl. I would ask for extra seaweed salad (on the menu does not say extra) they would tell me they would have to charge me extra for it... Why would you charge me extra for more of a "free" menu item? You dont charge me extra when I ask for more cucumber... Also, the main reason I do not eat here anymore, Quinoa. I dont care that its a dollar extra. What I care about is that Im paying for cooked quinoa, not warmed. The proper way of cooking quinoa is to rinse it first, then cook it in water. Their quinoa is not rinsed, nor is it cooked. It is hard and crunchy when you eat it. Also, EVERY time I eat here, I get TERRIBLE eczema and a bad rash, from the quinoa. This reaction lasts anywhere from 3 days to over a week. I really hate not knowing what the price of my meal is going to be (I ordered the same exact thing every single time) or if Im going to have a terrible reaction in a few hours. read more

This is my poke go to place. The ingredients are always fresh with a wide range of selections. My favorite is the poke salad, they also has kale noodle base and brown rice which is great if you want to consume more healthy carbs. The poke Burrito is so good! They are super filling when you are hungry. The majority selection are included if you are picking a regular size meal, except a few cost extra, like avocado. The regular includes two kinds of proteins, but you can also add tofu and edamame as extra proteins. The price is pretty decent. And staff are very friendly. They also have some good deserts selections that are great to try! Can't live without this spot. read more

This is my go-to Poke place. I love Poke a lot myself. The secret of getting a delicious Poke is to choose as many ingredients that you like as you can, so you get a variety of flavor and texture. I love poke and specifically have been to Pokeworks about 15x but always at the Downtown Seattle location. I always get the large salmon poke bowl. Today, I tried this Bellevue location, ordered my usual meal, and ended up with diarrhea :( After the first bite, I had a "gut" feeling that something wasn't right. The salmon had a lingering fishy smell. Not the nice/normal fishy smell but one that you get if you open a package of spoiled salmon from the store. About 30 minutes later, I was passing gas randomly (pretty embarrassing for anyone but especially when you are on a Zoom call). By the evening, I was visiting the toilet every couple of hours and drinking lots of water. You might be wondering why I didn't just throw the salmon poke away. First, I was very hungry (first meal of the day at 3 PM), the food itself was around $20 (large poke bowls aren't cheap) thirdly, the medium amount of "Classic Poke" sauce + extra condiments (garlic/onion crisps) masked the majority of the foul odor. I'm not sure why the quality is so bad that it would give someone the runs. But, I think, for now, I am going to wait until the Downtown Seattle location reopens (I think it's closed still) because I never had a problem at that location, and despite everything, I still like this poke chain. read more

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with this place! We both are punch card holders and make sure to stop in whenever we need a quick bite to eat (and we don't want pizza or chipotle). BF usually gets the large bowl (3 scoops of protein) and I usually get the regular (2 scoops) with salmon and shrimp. The add-ons are pretty extensive, everything from mango and mandarin oranges to seaweed and crab salad. The brown rice bowl is my go-to but the poke salads are nice if you want something lighter and the poke burritos are a fun twist on a classic favorite. The atmosphere is usually very clean and I prefer to eat there if I'm not in a hurry. The staff I've interacted with has always been pleasant and helpful. Plus, if you work in the area you'll get a neighborhood discount. It's like 5% or 10% but a deal's a deal! My family and I have been here a million times. There were unlucky times with some of the employees who were a bit on the rude side. But I have noticed everything started going uphill from now. Every-time we come in, we get greeted. They add full scoops of each ingredient we ask for. And the experience is magical now and it's our favorite food so we notice the details in how it looks. The first thing I noticed was the bright, open atmosphere of Pokeworks. The location utilized natural light to great effect and pairs well with the simple decor. The venue was also very clean! Since I was familiar with poke, I selected one of their Signature Works options, in a sushi burrito. I've been going to Pokeworks since it's opened...fairly regularly. I've even gotten it catered for numerous meetings. I've noticed the last several times, including today (10/3), that they have started to really limit portion sizes. It's quite laughable how much smaller the bowls have become...liberal scoops of fish now strictly measured, little blips of seaweed salad (+$1 for an extra blip! - I believe another Yelper also pointed that out...being charged extra for "free" toppings...would I have been charged for extra wasabi?), etc. Had that always been the model, I would never have known but the most recent visit was truly disappointing. At this point, specify you get Y add-ins and anything extra is $X. At least you set the expectation. The service also varies widely based on who is preparing your dish. I have no desire to further support this business. I wish them the best and I'm sure they'll do fine. They just won't get my $$ business and I'll steer my team members away to other poke places in the immediate vicinity. read more

My poke bowl ($10.50 before tax) came out as a combination of cold, raw fish and veggies on top of piping hot rice, which by the time I sat down to eat had become a lukewarm, unappetizing mess. Portions of fish to rice are stingy, and by the time I was close to done eating there was a salty, watery puddle of leftover sauce and moisture. I threw out the last third of my bowl without finishing. Perhaps I was also turned off by the fact that one of the people behind the counter taking orders (thankfully not my person) sneezed really loudly without making a real effort to cover their face. Visited this newly opened spot with high hopes despite the mixed reviews. Sadly Pokeworks didn't pass the fresh test for me. The salmon and shrimp were limp and watery as opposed to fresher cuts that I look for with a "springy" and slightly firm texture. This meant that the seafood was left out a bit too long, their containers are not as cold, or the cuts are just cheap to begin with. Still safe to eat, just not enjoyable. On the upside, they do offer more toppings and sauces than other places. However with the low quality I can't seem to justify coming back for an overpriced, "smaller serving" of poke. Especially when the competition (MIX Poke Bar) across the street tastes better. Quality is greater than Hype. read more

The staff at Pokeworks were all very friendly and professional, I had a good experience ordering my poke bowl from here. Sadly they were out of kale noodles the day I visited. I thought the ingredients were all quite fresh, and there was definitely a lot of options for toppings. I chose 3 different sauces to mix in (classic, ponzu, umami shoyu), but found that they were all somewhat bland and nothing stood out, so I made my own sauce using the condiments they provided (soy sauce, honey, sesame seeds, sesame oil, chili oil). Pokéworks new location in bellevue is conveniently located near the Safeway. Parking is really no problem and they are right next to the entrance/exit to the parking garage. Inside looks super clean and you can see into the back prep area looks spotless clean! Besides that I thought this Poké is no better than average. Serving sizes are definitely on the smaller side and it seemed stingy with the free toppings. I got a large with three protein choices that came to about 7.5 oz in total. The poke itself didn't seem to be marinated too much which could be good or bad depending on your preference. They do have a spicy salmon available though...but no spicy ahi... I do like that they offer a choice of lite, medium, or heavy for their sauces. I know they have been open for a couple days now but the staff seemed nervous and extremely awkward. I had questions about a couple toppings which they weren't sure about. Close to $15 after tip I would expect to have more to eat. Still hungry..... This poke store is down the street from Bellevue Square. It's a little beyond the Safeway. We saw the great Yelp reviews and decided to check it out. Basically it's a stand alone poke store. The prices are similar to other stores and the selection is pretty similar. The biggest difference to me was you could get a burrito or noodles. Yeah, I wasn't expecting that. The traditionalist I am, I got a typical bowl with rice. There are 2 main sizes. One comes with 2 scoops of poke and one comes with 3 scoops. There are a lot of mains to choose from, so you can get fish, chicken, tofu, scallops, etc. The additional items were fun. I like when they have mango, but they also had mandarin oranges, different kinds of onions, peppers, and an assortments of toppings-masago, little Japanese balls, pieces of fried garlic, furikake, a spicy mix and quite a bit of other things. I really like this place. Is it because I got a free miso soup with my yelp check in, maybe. Maybe it was the clean eating area or the friendly staff. Regardless the poke bowl is worth coming back for, but so was the casual atmosphere and nice local music from Hawaii. read more

First time going to a Poke bar restaurant and I thought it was great! I ordered a Poke Bowl with brown rice, salmon and albacore tuna, seaweed salad, imitation crab, cucumbers slices, masago, edamame, nori shreds, and a handful of more ingredients. I love how they have so many toppings for you to choose from and the price was very reasonable given that they were generous with the amount of raw fish that you get. This is a great alternative to Chipotle, Mod Pizza, Subway or any other 'create your own ______' type of food. Definitely a healthier choice but for people who have a big appetite - one order might not fill you up or you may get hungry pretty quickly. Will visit again! Friendly staff. Well maintained. Pokeworks is a relatively new poke shop for the Eastside. Their original stores started in NYC and have recently branched out onto the West Coast - luckily for us! The whole process is very straightforward and dietary restriction friendly. Think of it like Chipotle but for poke - you start with your base (quinoa, sushi rice, brown rice or kale noodles) and decide what form (sushi burrito, salad, or bowl). To make it even easier, you can select one of their signature works which includes a wide variety of flavor profiles and combinations. Then you move on to protein selection where you can mix and match up to 2-3. They offer so many mix-ins that I couldn't try them all let alone remember - kale, cilantro, cucumber, dried mango, jalapenos, edamame, seaweed, etc. To end the line, there are about 5 sauces to choose and they let you specify how much you prefer (light, regular, or heavy). I used the sriracha aioli and couldn't have been happier with the result. Cool points for Pokeworks - they recently worked together with one of the chefs from Top Chef to create a new signature bowl that is to die for! Fresh food, very friendly staff, and generous portions......This is the only poke restaurant in all of Washington that operates almost like a subway restaurant.....you can get as much of everything in your bowl, they are more than willing to stack it up.
