This restaurant has changed quite a bit in 8 years; it used to be a chicken place with side dishes and It's now more like a fast food chain. The food though is good and flavorful. Everything was seasoned well and tasted yummy. Some tables were dirty and needed wiping, but in general the place was acceptable. We recommend this place. read more

Disappointed in the management. Last time my husband ordered me a meal through thru they forgot to put all the food in the bag. Today when we ate there, we find out they removed their sauce station, which is what is their signature attraction. They claimed people were abusing, so therefore all patrons must be punished. My kids ate Raw Chicken! Terrible service! First, our order was missing items so we went back in, waited 20 minutes because they were "out of chicken breasts."?! We arrived at 6:30pm on a Monday evening. There was no chicken available. It was a 20 minute wait for more to be cooked. I settled for a Tropichop bowel. I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy as the base. The bowel came out without gravy. I went back to ask for some and they gave me a small spoon full. They said that they were out of gavey as well. The sauce bar was a disaster. Drops of sauce all over the bar and used sauce cups laying all over. The dining room is empty, yet most of the tables are dirty and there is random trash all over the floor. I love Pollo Tropical, but this particular branch is less than desirable. Oh Pollo Tropical, you could be SO amazing, but yet you failed me again. It has been a few months since my family has dined at this location due to several bad experiences in a row. I checked a few newer reviewers and we decided to give it another shot. Lunch time on a Sunday found the restaurant busy but not overly so. We waited a very shot time to order and then found a seat. I am happy to say that the dining area was clean. We waited for our order to be called. And we waited. And waited. We watched people after us get their food, and my husband said, I bet we are next. Ha ha. He went and said something and oops, we were skipped or something. No sorry, nothing... 25 min later we got our food. Now my chicken was amazing! I think their new coleslaw is very good as well. I wish they had a kids Mac and cheese option. I was unsure what size to get my 2 girls and went with the large. They shared and we have some for later. My husband said his chop thing was ok. I don't know if we will be back or not. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap with waffle fries, side of plantains and a half and half tea. BAD BAD BAD, we ordered our food at 9:34pm (per the receipt) but I sat in the drive-thru for about 1-2 minutes. Didn't get our food until 10:35pm. The drive threw attendant who took my order, I had to ask for my debit card back to which she replied, I'm sorry I do that all the time. There was no one behind me and she asked me to pull to the end of the rail and someone would bring my food out. Mind you I sat there until 10:35pm. The tea she handed me was luke warm, and tasted more like water then tea. While we sat next to the window for the 1-2 minutes all the employees seemed to just be laughing and joking. One of them was leaning on the counter with their phone out...I get it their teenagers but come on this is a business not a social gathering. I feel as if they paid more attention to my food coming out I may have had a better quality product. So let's talk about the food. Waffle fries way over cooked, and only contained 6 medium to small pieces of waffle fry. They were cooked to a dark brown not golden brown. 1 piece of chicken in a loosely wrapped wrap with a few pieces of lettuce. Now for the kicker, the plantains where burnt, greasy, and soggy. I bit into one and all I could taste was grease with a little plantain flavor. When they gave me my food, the bags were rolled down almost smashed, and to top it all off...not a single napkin. They were not closing for another 2 1/2 hours...I get that at closing time you can expect crappy service and food. I did log a compliant with their corporate office. The fact it was lunch time and there were 2 cars in the lot should have given us a clue, especially when the drive through at Wendys next door was packed. The guy behind the counter was a complete imbecile, could barely speak English and was sarcastic and rude from the word go. Went to this location with a friend. Btw, did you know that they have an app now? The app gives you discounts and points. Not sure why I spent 5.00 on a fundraiser card that gives you these great BOGO deals, but I did and what a waste of money. Think twice before you purchase several fundraiser cards from your kids school. I went to this location and this restaurant has been around for about 2 years. The employees are still lost and confused. I placed an order for two platters and they looked at the card and told me they couldn't do it. I found a deal on my phone and placed my order. They were able to take the discount off my phone, but not on the card I gave them. This ordeal took more than 10 to 15 minutes at the drive thru. I'm not exaggerating. We were so annoyed with their incompetence and couldn't stop talking about it. We realized half way home that they didn't give me back my card. You have to understand that Pollo Tropical isn't around the corner from my house. It's a 30 minute drive. I called the restaurant and no one answered. There were plenty of staff standing around chatting but they were unwilling or not trained to work the register. Once ordered the food came fast. Mac and cheese side tastes fine but was very small. I came for a quick meal and that's what I got. I knew what to expect, expected a little more but i understand at the same time. The ordering process was quick and sweet. You paid and got a number for your table and they bring your food to you. The tables weren't being cleaned as quickly as I wished even though there were many people on staff, I know most of them had to hurry to prepare the food because it there were a number of folks and it was dinnertime. The sauce island needed some attention. I know customers aren't all attentive to how they pour sauces either so I'm sure they have to maintain that pretty often. The pork and rice bowl was decent and a good amount of food. I threw on everything basically. We also ordered the quesadilla salad but do yourself a favor and stay away from the salads. This was the first time ever going to this restaurant chain. I ordered a "pressed Cubin sandwich". Humm, Should be a no brainier. After all, it's one of their specialty sandwiches. When we got to the table with our order, the sandwich was cold, and on a regular hoagie roll, not cubin bread, and dry. I thought Cuban sandwiches came with mustard but maybe that's just partial to the customer. Went to the counter, stood in line again to get it corrected but I was told the sandwich press was broken. Why wasn't I told that when I ordered the sandwich?? Also could not give me a reason for the wrong bread - then again maybe they did, I wouldn't known because they didn't speak a lick of English. The food is flavorful and reasonably priced. This location is brand new (few months), but the dining area is questionable when it comes to cleanliness. There are tables next to windows and they don't seem to be wiped down. This is an excellent restaurant that gives good, authentic Caribbean food (for a chain). I had the half chicken and a side of mac and cheese and rice and beans. The chicken was well cooked, flavorful, and juicy, but make sure you use that sauce bar! My personal favorite is guava bbq. Have been here 5 times the last two weeks the other day order was messed up they almost forgot my fries and put tomatoes on my wraps when I said no tomatoes. I understand having a long drive thru wait but a long wait accompanied with a rude staff is unacceptable. YUM. The chicken here is amazing! Especially considering the price point and fast service. The people who work here are always friendly too. My go to is the 1/4 fire grilled chicken. It always has the best flavor and is never dry. My husband loves the boneless grilled chicken and my son loves the tropichop bowl with the fried pollo bites.
