Delicious, surprisingly light on the stomach, in the textures and flavors have that homemade vibe. I got the chicken pot pie and the apple pie slice. The lady at the counter said that a lot of people say the apple pie slice is better than Julian's apple pie. I think that if it were as fresh as the Julian one, I would agree but because the slice tasted like it have been sitting there for at least six hours, maybe even overnight, I would just say that it's a really good slice of apple pie. It has a crumb topping, which is a nice addition which the Juliann apple pie does not have. The filling is chunky and very brown sugar-y which makes it very delicious. The ice cream was also good. The chicken pot pie was my favorite though. So warm, and the crust was nice and flaky. The portion is really good. That was my dinner and it was the perfect amount. The inside had a generous amount of chicken which I really appreciated overall. It's such a comforting food and I love that. It doesn't taste like it's 1,000,000 cal. I decided to get the steak and ale and their special of the month Butter Chicken pie. I also could not resist the Salted Carmel Crumble pie cream. I ate the steak and ale at the location. I thought it was ok. The crust was amazing but I felt the flavor was lacking a little. I had a few chunks of meat. Didn't really taste the Ale and it was a little dry for my liking. Now the Butter Chicken pie was amazing. I think they should keep that one on the menu. I reheated it in the air fryer. Unfortunately they took away my absolute favorite thing from the menu, the beloved Aussie pie. I was craving for an Aussie pie so bad but it's discontinued now. I used to go out of my way and get it, but nonetheless the other pies are also just as good. The classic chicken is my second fav, then followed by the green hog pie. The crust is made well, flaky top while the sides and bottom crust are sturdy enough to stand up to the filling while being delicious and not at all doughy like other pot pies can be. Update on the update. 3.14 always requires a visit to Pop Pie for their collab pies. I am a sucker for their collab pies - especially if they are featuring a creation from a Filipino chef. Sure, they have collabs with other small restaurants but I am here for those ones that touch my native tongue. Couple years ago they did a collab with Chef Holly on that Kare Kare pop pie. And this year they had a collab with Chef Tara Monsod with the Tinola pop pie. One of my favorite things to eat (and cook) is Tinola (with malunggay leaves). Both pies had me flabbergasted but the Tinola pop pie is yet my favorite only because that is one of ny favorite Filipino dishes - even though this version used spinach instead of malunggay leaves. It tasted exactly how Tinola should with a lovely pie crust of pop pie. I can't believe it's my first visit to Pop Pie! I've been to the ice cream place that is affiliated with them next-door, but just never made it in. I picked up an order for takeout. Thought the interior was a really nice atmosphere and I love the open garage door on a nice day. They have a big variety of pies, cake, cakes, and pastries. I went with the mushroom and leek quiche, the chicken pot pie and a guava and cream cheese pastry. The quiche and the chicken pot pie were both good but TBH a bit too rich for my tastes, and that's saying something! The guava and cream cheese pastry was absolutely divine. Pop Pie is a simple but great concept: sweet and savory pies for every season. They also offer quiches and cookies. For the savory pies, they have comforting and familiar options, like classic chicken or steak and ale, and fun and interesting options, like red chile pork or roasted veggies and yellow curry. I have actually tried every non-seasonal pie except the steak & ale, and they have all been delicious. I think my favorite was the classic chicken, but the seasonal pie (red chile pork) I just tried this last week was a close second. It contains olives and potatoes, and probably would have paired well with their guava cream cheese pie. The first time I tried Pop Pie was on a date in 2022, but every time I've had it since was because a coworker would put in a lunch order during the week. So I haven't ordered a sweet pie yet due to not wanting to overeat on my lunch break, but next time I go with my fiancé we will likely share both a savory and a sweet pie. I'll probably also eventually get around to trying the sausage roll and quiches, but you definitely have to try one of their pot pies before anything else! It is a bit rich and heavy as a lunch, but I didn't regret it any time I've had it. I think they offer both whole and personal sizes for pies. I'm not sure how often they rotate through seasonal flavors, but this last week they were out of their turkey (Thanksgiving) pie, so maybe it's monthly. Decided to gamble and chose this location in search delicious, fresh made pie. Fortunately this spot was open. There were two lines, one dedicated for prepaid and another for walk ins. My friend and I went in at 8pm and they told me they had just sold the last chicken one. Came here for their 3.14 Pi day special, which included three collaborations with other staple SD establishments, like Animae, the Friendly, and Tribute pizza. I really wanted to try the Animae collab which was a Filipino Tinola chicken pot pie but it was already sold out at 2pm unfortunately. We came on a Sunday afternoon and actually had ice cream at the shop next door. Came in here and had Uber Coconut Pie. It was good as that is the go to desert we always order. This is an ABSOLUTE must when you visit Pop Pie. The establishment is located in University Heights army a corner and the parking can be challenging at times as it is only street parking. The ambiance is chill and relaxed. They had jazz, top 40 and chill music playing over the speakers which fit the mood. This is a place that I can hang out and relax sipping over a cup of Joe. I actually had a Matcha Latte that Ashley whipped up. The place is very clean with the amount of customers that come and go. There is a small patio that you can hang out at. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked however, the mirror was missing. There were no visible graffiti on any of the walls which is surprising for a unisex restroom. Overall, I highly recommend this place and I would love to hang out as well as this maybe one of the hidden gems here. When you come in say hi to Camille and Ashley as they are chill and really good people. The Piescream made by Camille and the Matcha Latte by Ashley were made with soo much care and clearly you can tell with the outcome. On one of my first visits many years ago, I had wanted the apple pie, they were out of the pie so they recommended the coconut cream pie. I told the gentlemen I don't like coconut and he told me to try it and if I didn't like it then he would refund me. Well I tried it and it was surprisingly good.. I have not been disappointed yet by anything I have tried. My go-to pot pie is the Green Hog, I don't love a lot of veggies in my pot pie so this one is perfect for me. I've also tried their Pie day special previously which was a pulled pork BBQ Mac N Cheese that was very good. Recently I tried the special Rajas which I have already had twice and I am in love with. I really hope they keep it on the menu or keep bringing it back. I love the combination of the peppers, onion, corn and cheese in the fantastic all butter crust. It is simple and super tasty. The sides are pretty good too, but I tend to like the creamed corn over the mashed potatoes. I need a little salt added, but it is great. Pretty good pies. I tried both the chicken and the beef pot pie, and I personally liked the chicken one better. The flavor is great--creamy, savory, and filled with plenty of chicken. The crust is flaky, and it's especially good when it's still hot. I especially enjoy the little onions bulbs they put in the chicken pot pie. It's more unique versus other pies I tried. The beef one was just okay. Nothing really stood out to me. One reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because of the after effect. For some reason, whenever I eat these pies, my throat feels weird afterward. Whatever is in the filling seems to coat my throat and leaves a lingering uncomfortable feeling. At first, I thought it was just me, but my boyfriend said he experienced the same thing. I even tried baking their frozen ones at home, and the same thing happened again.
