Poppyseed has been around forever and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious. It's my go-to for a large, heart salad or delicious sandwich. Every option is a good choice. They could use some updates inside the restaurant but the food will never let you down.

Met some friends for lunch. We all decided we wanted something light and fresh, so of course why not a poppyseed salad! We were greeted and seated up on arrival. Our server was very pleasant! Now I have not been to poppyseed in years probably like 7 since my office moved from OP. I definitely won't be waiting 7 years again. The food was fresh, huge portions and so tasty. Now I mentioned we went in for salads, well my friends stuck to their guns, me on the other hand to read the specials, and Par 5 changed my ordering. The Par 5 special was a grilled cheese around a smash burger, with bacon, tomato and jalapeno mayonnaise, yes jalapeno mayonnaise! The fries were definitely hand cut and home made and were cooked and seasoned to perfection.Who could blame me from straying from a salad, which by the way looked amazing as well! We started with the spinach artichoke dip and it was good it actually had a different flavor than I'm use to BUT whatever they did keep doing it. For my seeing challenged folks, it is fairly dark in there! Thank god for cell phone lights!

We always love a trip to the McKinley Mall because it means we can squeeze in lunch at the Poppyseed Restaurant. It's a little storefront establishment with a high-end feel and budget friendly prices! Today we had two little boys in tow, so a good kids menu was a must! We were swiftly seated by a very pleasant young lady. Menus were provided and we began to salivate over our choices! I was very tempted to order a Cinnamon Sandwich, grilled and loaded with cream cheese, turkey and cranberries, walnuts and a cinnamon glaze. Comes with sweet potato fries. All for only $16! Instead I selected the Par 5 10 oz angus burger on a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, bacon and jalapeño mayonnaise. Mine came with delicious French fries, but I know the hand cut fried chips are wonderful as well. Now, I have been around the block, from a dining perspective but I have to say that this was the most delicious burger I've had in ages. The beef patty was thick, juicy and flavorful. The grilled cheese sandwich took it to a whole other level! Roll your eyes back in your head! It was that good!!! I could not finish, so half my plate came home in a box. My man had the Chicken Souvlaki Salad with a bowl of hearty French onion soup. The soup came out first, loaded with a thick blanket of cheese over a slice of rye bread. The soup was full of onions, very satisfying! His salad brought the house down! Delicious and fresh, filled with iceberg, feta, olives, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini and marinated chicken. A side pita complimented the meal which came to $15. We ordered a pita pizza for one little boy, and the chicken fingers and fries for the other. Surprisingly they ate much of their food and still had plenty to take home. These kid meals came in at under $7 and included a kid beverage. All in all, this is a place where we can always count on a great meal at a very reasonable price! I

We visited for lunch today and were seated immediately by the very kind and cheerful staff. We were greeted right away by, Carrie, the team member assigned to our table. Her service was very good and very on time with everything. We ordered some appetizer, the name slips me but they were delicious along with the sauce that was served with them. I ordered the Par five burger. It was delicious and very filling. We also ordered a bowl of French onion soup which was good as well. The restaurant was quiet when we first arrived but became very busy quickly. I can understand why with the freshly prepared dishes and great service. Although it was busy it was not very loud at all and the decor of the dining area is lovely. If you haven't been there or it has been awhile I would recommend stopping in for a meal.

I used to be a hater. I never understood the appeal of a restaurant that specializes in salads. But I'm a changed man. And this place offers the best salads in the world. My favorite is the Chicken Poppyseed salad with Poppyseed dressing. It's incredible. Perfectly cooked juicy chicken mixed with spinach salad, mozzarella, cranberries and walnuts. And filling too! The dressing are drinkable - so good. I've had multiple soups that are amazing. The chicken dumpling was like a Willie Wonka gobstopper in my mouth that replicated Thanksgiving dinner. Kind of funny when you go in for lunch. It's packed with a 15 minute wait. And the ratio of women to men is probably 10-1.

This is one of the only places that has come up with delicious & creative vegetarian meals since at least the 90's. Generally they are wonderful as a casual place. Recently Ordered curbside salad & sandwich. No utensils or napkins for takeout & boring $13 sandwich were most disappointing. Muddy shoes $13 was a disappointing, bland smooshed vegetarian blob with lettuce & tomato. Bread was nicely toasted. April Shower salad $14 was outstanding. Photos don't fully show how many yummy ingredients were packed into the salad (or how few were in the muddy shoes sandwich). Neither item was a finger food or could be eaten without silverware &/or napkin, so the convenience of curbside was erased.

Christina was one of the kindest, most genuine waitresses I've had in a long time. Their kids' menu prices have to be the same as they were at least five years ago, just $5, including a drink and a side. You really can't beat that! I was torn between their corned beef and chicken fingers, so I secured that I could get a finger from a shared meal and then ordered the Mother Superior. I substituted grilled sourdough since I'm not a fan of Kimmelweck seeds. This sandwich was loaded with tender corned beef and absolutely delicious with the melty Swiss, creamy Russian dressing, and lightly cooked red onions. We also ordered Combo #2 to share, which has several Buffalo favorites: chicken fingers, wings, beef on weck, and waffle fries. It was a LOT of food for a very reasonable price. My boys said the wings were amazing and perfectly crispy. There were plenty of waffle fries to share, and the chicken tenders were nice and crispy too. The kids loved their meals: mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, and chicken tenders. The fries were just okay, but when you have a vessels of blue cheese and a salt grinder on the table, you know they're going to be just fine. And then there's dessert... Very smart marketing to have a display of their homemade desserts right on the table! Our waitress mentioned that everything is made by their pastry chef, so of course we had to order a couple. We went with the pistachio cheesecake and peanut butter pie. The peanut butter pie was so smooth and creamy, and the kids loved the cookie crust and puddle of chocolate sauce. One of them actually said it was too much peanut butter. I had no idea there was such a thing! The pistachio cheesecake had a cake bottom with a thick, rich layer of cheesecake on top. We really liked the addition of lemon, it added a nice freshness to balance everything out. I absolutely love this spot and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food, a great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Oh, and there's a popcorn machine in the bar area, which the kids made approximately 17 trips to.

The beef is wrapped in a flour tortilla with provolone, creamy horseradish, salt & caraway seeds & finished in a panini press. It comes with chips and a pickle but I upgraded to fries. My choices were straight cut, waffle or sweet potato so I opted for waffle fries. I would definitely order it again. Everyone enjoyed their food, too busy talking to take pics but some of their options were the beer cheddar soup, corned beef quesadilla, burger, chicken sandwich, roast beef on white bread with mashed potatoes & gravy. Their rye bread is baked in-house and you can purchase it just like one of my friends did.

This is a busy spot for classic American favorites: burgers, sandwiches and wings. From my previous experience, I knew it's worth checking the menu beforehand. For someone who is trying to make healthier choices, but not salad, this might be a good idea. I remember the last time I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Melt. This time, to avoid beef, bacon, or fried chicken, I decided to substitute a burger with grilled chicken breast for an additional $1. The Frenchie was my choice. I asked for the included Bison dip on the side and added Grilled Cremini Mushrooms for another $1. I simply couldn't find any ready-made combinations that suited my taste. All the burgers, melts and sandwiches come with your choice of fries or tater tots. We waited longer than expected for our food. The restaurant started filling up after we arrived. There were a lot of takeout orders while the dinner rush was starting. They should have a parallel system in the kitchen to keep the dining room moving at its own pace. Anyway, my sandwich was good. The chicken was perfectly grilled. The mushrooms and onions were flavorful, and the provolone cheese was melted and delicious. It's good that I asked to have the Bison dip on the side. We enjoyed the mountain of fries and onion rings (we really liked the breading on the onion rings). The Mac and Cheese was basic, but classic and very tasty. Unfortunately, our feedback on the Steak Hoagie was not so good. It wasn't as expected - a juicy, Buffalo-style, meat and cheese sub. My partner said that too much spice rub made the sandwich salty and dry. It wasn't the experience of dripping, shaved steak covered with lots of melted cheese, grilled peppers and onions. There was none of it. It was dry, smallish and disappointing. Our server Kimora took good care of us. She was smiling, and made our stay very pleasant.
