This local cafe is the best breakfast place on Haight. Great menu, very vegetarian/vegan friendly. The biscuits and gravy is something you've got to try/share. Everything I've ever had here is spot on. Don't make too many special requests, as it's busy. The place is right on Haight. So it might be a little busy. But tables turn over quickly. So wait... The window seats are good for people watching. But sitting at the bar is an even better show, for people who like watching good food being made fast. Did I say the service is awesome? Today was my first (and last) time eating here. There was a fingernail on my cheeseburger and they didn't do anything about it. I'm not the type to complain, but this was truly disgusting!! The food itself (fingernail aside) was mediocre at best, and the service sum par. If I could rank it zero stars I would. read more

Love this place! It's my new go-to breakfast spot. Old school diner vibe with bar stools and tiny tables, amazing food not just for meat eaters but for vegetarians as well, that serves strong coffee. Shout out to the waitress ( I think her name is Lynn? - from Luxembourg) who runs the joint smooth. I have never seen someone carry 3 plates on 1 arm, then another plate on the other arm while taking orders via a phone squeezed between her shoulder and chin, walking and serving the food. And someone on top of all of this she manages to keep the hot coffee filled to the very top of every customer's mug all the time. What we ate: - French Toast with fruit (amazing) - Chile pequin sausage breakfast (super spicy, order it only if you want a nice burn and enjoy jalapeños on the regular). If you sit at the bar you can see the grill masters. Street parking can be tough but it's worth the pain. The restaurant is tiny but you the turnaround and seating is fast. read more

This is one of the best traditional diners in San Francisco. It's got a really nice vibe and the service is on point. It's very reminiscent of a solid Midwest diner - they keep your coffee full at all times and don't do lattes here. The other parallel is the value. You will get quite a bit more food here than you would at most diners and the prices are significantly lower - this ranks up there among the best values in San Francisco. But most importantly, the food is delicious. I love the Huevos Rancheros in particular. I've tried this dish at a few other diners in the city, and none came close to theirs. read more

10/10 experience with the server being the coolest gal you'd ever meet. Food is delicious, especially the hash browns. Small, busy place so prepare ahead of time to wait 10-20minutes. They even had tapatio as a salsa on the table which is rare for a non-Mexican establishment. Good job Pork Store Cafe read more

Oh my gosh! Was on a morning run and wanted real corned beef and hash. I remembered my friend raved about the Pork Store and how I lived close, so I swung by and was not disappointed. I got the house made corned beef with a biscuit and you could taste all the spices in the corned beef and the biscuit was buttery and flaky. I loved how you could watch the cooks cooking behind the bar. It was such an old school vibe but so, so, so good! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good old fashioned breakfast! read more

SO YUM. if you're craving a big hearty breakfast this diner is the place to go. Once I sat down, I took a look at the menu and couldn't decide, everything looked too good! We ended up getting the Eggs in a Tasty Nest (2 eggs, tomatoes, onions, peppers, cheese over hash browns) and the breakfast quesadilla. Both were fantastic. Okay I read the reviews about the service being authentic and awesome and was skeptical. No. It's all true. While my kids shopped on the Haight, I had the breakfast of my dreams - Sausage gravy over Biscuits, Bacon/Egg/Biscuit sandwich, rock solid grits (definitely not instant) and hashbrowns cooked to crunchy perfection. Biscuits were perfect. Bacon was thick cut and crispy. I'm so glad I don't live next door or I swear I would go every day. Sorry for the midmeal picture...It looks like a bear tore into my plate (it did). read more

TLDR: rating is based on a bad experience, food is good. Came here for brunch on Sunday morning and it was PACKED! We were a group of 5 & waited for about 20-30mins for seating. Didn't mind the wait too much, since it's a small brunch spot & busy -- very understandable. I really liked that there were a lot of different meat and vegetarian options. The food was super filling and absolutely delicious. However, we felt the service was a bit lacking as we were rarely checked in with & ignored for most of our time there. When the check came it was $52 for 3 girls who had ordered $12/13 meals each. At first, we didn't question it because we thought maybe they had included the bill of the other 2 (who were seated by the bar due to limited space). But when we checked in with them, they said they had already paid. We called over a server, who just said she would check it for us. We see her talk to the person who took our order and things being crossed out on the order paper? When we get our receipt back, they just say "this should be the correct one now" and just don't acknowledge that they messed up or anything? Our bill ended up being $42. We were annoyed at the lack of service AND now the lack of respect. Willing to give this another chance because of the food and hoping this was just a one time thing. read more

They don't honor their hours. Been here several times before 2 and at 2pm and they always inform me that they're closed even when their hours are open til 3. Don't expect any food between 1:45-2pm. It projects laziness from the workers. read more

A classic diner style breakfast with great service and tasty food! When we arrived we had a small wait but the waitress came out with coffee mugs and offered us coffee while we stood outside - something small that we really appreciated. Once seated it was an easy decision to go with the Pork Store special with hash browns and biscuits and my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak. I think I licked my plate clean! The pork chops could've been a tad jucier but overall it was a quality breakfast for a bangin' price! The hash browns where amazing and the biscuits were fresh and tasty. The chicken fried steak was awesome! The sauce came with it was outstanding and I kept leaning over to dip my biscuits in it. I struggled with this review. For what it is, this is a five star place. Overall, maybe four? It's a 'greasy spoon'. The gate is heavy, meaty, greasy, and indulgent. We weren't wowed, but we have been on a health kick, so it was a bit much. So, if you want refinement and delicate flavor symphonies...this is not the place. If you want buttery, heavy, 'I can barely walk out of here', nailed it. I had the biscuits and gravy. Flavorful. Great biscuits. Gravy was a bit butter heavy for my taste. My wife had the corned beef and hash browns. Hash browns are potato perfection. The corned beef was a tad burned and Smokey. Pancakes were straight up divine, even if I couldn't finish them. No reservations. No list. You line up. You will NOT be seated without your whole party. Period. Nope. Finally able to dine here again. Proof of vax is required for seating. One waitstaff on the day we came for breakfast working the tables and counter. You'll find regulars here on weekdays. Hubby got his usual Eggs Benedict. I ordered the chicken fried steak but forgot to ask for the gravy on the side. Had to scrape off the gravy. It was good but too much gravy. The steak was nicely battered and tasty. I asked for the hash browns to be extra crispy and it was sooo good that way. Sadly, the biscuits are smaller and didn't taste as good as in the past when it was flaky, buttery and soft. The biscuits tasted bland and drier than I remembered. Our waitstaff was nice but stretched a little thin. She offered a cup of coffee for hubby to take with him and he loved that. So glad we could return to dine in again. read more

This is a no nonsense place for breakfast and lunch located on hippie dippy Haight Street. I had the 1/2 pound hamburger with avocado and jack cheese. It came with some shoestring type fries that were delicious. Service was attentive and prices were very reasonable (only $14 for a burger with fries). That is what I consider a bargain these days. It can be crowded but we went Monday at lunch and immediately found a place to eat at the counter. Worth the trip. read more

My brother took me here for breakfast on my last day in SF. He was so adamant about going so I figured it must be good. The best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Mine were served with hash browns, sourdough toast, and scrambled eggs topped with cheddar. Perfect way to end the trip. The service was fast and friendly. Our server was Lynn, such a sweetheart! I've been coming here every Sunday for brunch with a group of friends. Pretty much everything on the menu for breakfast is exceptionally good. They're one of the few places around the city, where I can get biscuits and gravy as a side item as well as many other sides. Again pretty much every item I've had for breakfast across the menu has been fantastic. You order and pay as you walk in the door and they give you a number for your table. There's almost always space and there are a few outdoor tables in the back. If other people in your group arrive, and you have a number on the table, they just use the one that exists . It's a pretty smooth system when we have people trickling in slowly. read more

I am here on vacation and found that this restaurant is reasonably priced compared to the other restaurants in the city. The food quality is absolutely better than food I've paid more than double for. We were going to order more and found out that the portions are very plentiful. I got thr porky special with hash brown added for $2. The two slices of Texas toast and 2 scramble eggs (cooked well and seemed like extra large eggs) and hash browns Fried. Perfection! The nested eggs in hash browns was HUGE! All items were around $9-13. Go here! Go support! The quality is superb. The space is small so don't take a huge group. No more than 4. read more

for the haight st location the girl i spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and didn't have manners at all. her first words were "what do you want". i placed my order nicely still and waited for her to maybe act nicer considering my manners, but she remained VERY rude... i'm disappointed because i live super close to this location and will never be going there, i usually give the benefit of the doubt but she literally did not change and acted almost irritated that i even called. i recommend going to the one in the mission as they have great service. read more

We were so hungry and they took us in just before closing kindly, we knew what we wanted and it was so worth the wait. We had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns both so good!! The breakfast burritos are also good i had previous visit to the area. When we asked shop locals where to go for breakfast and they said pork store almost immediately. Understandable why. The staff was also so friendly. Definitely recommend and would return if back in town. read more

My boyfriend and I went to have breakfast this morning, I have got to tell you it doesn't deserve a 1 star !!! Horrible experience! We used to live in the Haight for many years and we've been there so many times in the past and it was always been a great spot to eat, until today! Our bill came to $36 and we shouldn't have paid a penny. Bring back the old cooks please! We won't be going back here again, very disappointed read more

HOLY MOLY! So glad we bumped into this place and it wasn't too crowded. We were seated as soon as we walked in, ordered and our food was served within 5 minutes. The decor is comfy and cute. Condiments all over the table so there was nothing we needed to ask for. My friend asked for ranch and they served a whole bottle! Where else can you say they do that at?! I ordered the Tasty Nest w/ a biscuit and a side of canned corned beef (I prefer canned over homemade, don't judge). My friend ordered the turkey sando and egg white omelette with toast. Everyone loved their dishes and their biscuit was super soft! Reasonable prices and huge portions. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Cute little diner on Haight across from Piedmont. Tight fit, but clean and neat eccentric place. I tried the biscuits and gravy and got a big plate with enough for a meal. Was no flavor to the gravy unfortunately. My daughter had the Mickey pancake which came with a cute fruit face and chocolate chips. I tried the pancake and it was rubbery, but she liked it, so all good. My son had the grilled cheese and fries which were both very good! I'd definitely order that next time. read more

Their menu is all I want in brunch and more! So much to choose from, but my boyfriend and I settled on the eggs in a nest (with biscuits) and the french toast with fruit. Bless his heart for sharing savory and sweet things with me. Our waitress was super sweet and split our eggs in a nest on two plates without us asking. We each enjoyed a nice pile of hash browns, bacon cooked to perfection, and sauteed peppers and onion topped with a fried egg. We also each had a biscuit- they are homemade and yummy. I slathered mine with blackberry preserves and he used butter and honey (all at the table). Once we finished our savory meal we moved on to the french toast. Two thick pieces of bread topped with a very healthy serving of banana slices, blueberries, strawberries, and homemade whipped cream. I loved the abundance of fresh fruit, and it was a perfect end to the meal. Overall, I was very satisfied with our choices and would be curious to see if other meals stack up! The only reason I do not give this place 5 stars is for the wait system. There really is none (that I know of). I've heard this place gets pretty busy, and you basically just have to wait outside. I didn't even see a sign-up sheet. Luckily, we only had 2 couples in front of us and we were able to sit down in 5 minutes, but I would hesitate to drop by with a larger group on weekends. read more

Start your day with fresh eggs, crispy potatoes, biscuits and gravy, chicken apple sausage, fruit-topped French toast, fluffy pancakes, or our famous spicy homemade pork sausage. For lunch, try one of our half-pound burgers, including the legendary Royal with Cheese (yes, a little Pulp Fiction inspiration), or our incredible Veggie Patty Melt with avocado and cheese or the Honey Dip fried chicken with house made mashed potatoes . We're not fancy. We don't have fat-free milk. Established in 1979.

Established in 1916 as the Haight Street family-run sausage shop and butcher. Transformed over the decades into a beloved San Francisco institution, it retains its iconic 1925 stained-glass signage and serves as a classic breakfast and brunch destination. The Pork Store was reborn in 1979 and a chef named Nadia took it to its iconic institutional status where the meals are plenty and the food makes you feel good. It has been with the same family for the last 45 years.

Meet the Business Owner: Mike M.

Owner and janitor at the same time. The family loves this place and we are almost forbidden to leave it by our father's legacy. I personally started there at 15 years old and not I am 60 so its a life time of breakfast. We love this place and everyone in the family from father to aunt to cousin to brother or sister or to a friend has worked here over the past 45 years. Our staff is our family and they are the true bosses because we work together and without the amazing staff we have we would not have lasted.

Not shut down, hours were 9am but starting Monday they will go back to 8-2 during the week and 8-3 on weekends

The crispy chicken was recommended by the server and it truly did not disappoint. The chicken was crisp and juicy and the noodles were cooked perfectly. For drinks we got the Thai iced tea, butterfly lychee fizz, and the coconut milk latte. I got the Thai ice tea less sweet and it was perfect for me ( I usually don't like it super sweet). The butterfly lychee fizz was very refreshing (could be less sweet for me) and the coffee was also very good! Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area or looking for brunch food that isn't your typical American brunch!

I wouldn't call it spicy at all. The omelette felt small for the price and there wasn't much filling inside. It came with a side of potatoes that were really good. They had a nice crisp on the outside and were soft on the inside. I also got a regular coffee, and they do unlimited refills. The place was busy for brunch, and I liked the bear theme. Some of the coffees came in bear-shaped glasses, and some of the lattes had a decorative bear made out of ice.

It's great to come back as a tourist to enjoy what the area has to offer. On this day trip we took the Vallejo Ferry straight into Embarcadero. We love the hassle free trip and really enjoy the ride. Once in the city we simply walk throughout Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf and into North Beach. The Buena Vista is an iconic spot dating back to the mid 1800's. It's great to pop in, have an Irish coffee, and enjoy the vibe. We got seated immediately at the bar. Service was great and everyone was enjoying futbol. San Francisco looks amazing!
