This was a great experience. I heard about this place for years, but never made it. There was a line as early as 10 in the morning so gird your loins kids. We were seated right in front of the grill so it was cool seeing how the "sausage gets made" see what I did there?!? I got the Scralifornia with a side of the spicy pork sausage(because how can I come to the PORK store and not try pork). Watching the food get made had me regretting not adding hash browns. We popped in here early Monday morning and found seats right at the counter. I always love sitting right at the counter so I'm close to the flattop grill action. Right away, I love the pig decor and old diner vibes. The menu is plenty big but we're here for breakfast - I order huevos rancheros with home fries and it came out pretty quickly. The homemade salsa and chorizo was a little spicy but I like it that way, the portion was big and it was just so tasty. We had probably half a plate worth of food leftover and were encouraged to take it to go and leave it out from the store for the homeless. Nobody was really lingering out there but we were told that they know the drill, come walk by and grab the hot leftovers. Office lunch, part three. (Yes, my inner fattie wanted three lunches last week!) Our delivery order arrived via Caviar on Friday, January 26th around 12:30pm. I got their Chicken Wings: Spicy, House Ranch Dressing ($9). The wings were your standard buffalo wings. Nothing really special about them. I actually found them rather small as they were not very meaty. Since I adore veggies, I was happy they came with celery and carrots. And the ranch ended up being very tasty when mixed with some hot sauce. A coworker got the Porky's Cheeseburger: Swiss cheese, grilled onions, bacon, mushrooms, garlic aioli, all-natural beef chuck served on PanoRama brioche buns with a tomato, lettuce, red onions, dill pickles, House Cut Fries ($13.95). Let's start with 18% added on the bill for gratuity for a table of 5. Wtf. Do you do that to all tables? I give 1 star for the man who I think was the owner or manager, who clearly saw how pissed of the server made me so he did everything he could to rectify the situation. My friends and I arrived with no line and asked for a table for 5. They asked us to wait and once a table was ready they'd let us know. After about 25 minutes and tons of people sat before us, we asked what was going on and were told they only had 2 tables that could accommodate a party of 5. So 3 friends walked across the street to check out a store while my husband and I waited. Immediately after, the server came out to tell us she had a table but when seeing our whole party wasn't there she said you all have to be present to be sat.. "I'll hold the table for 2 minutes but then I'm sitting someone else." So when she came back out and our friends still weren't there I told her it's fine just sit my husband and I, were ready to eat. She then started arguing with me!! Saying she wasn't going to seat the 2 of us because we were actually a party of 5. Like suddenly I'm not allowed to go in the restaurant to eat. Rolling her eyes and insisting we couldn't now be a party of 2. She was so bi*chy and extremely rude after we just waited in line for 30 minutes! Another server came out and took over, I told them my husband and I just wanted a table at this point so he sat us. As soon as we walked to the table in the back (that could comfortably accommodate 4) our friends walked in and having no idea what was going on joined us at the table. The manager at that point (who I'm sure heard the arguing with the server) told the other server to get us another chair so we could all sit at the table. Mind you bi*ch brains turned around and sat a party of 2 immediately after us at the table for 5. So she had to spend the next hour squeezing her way through the space that was now occupied by the extra seat placed at our small table. Talk about no logic. Furthermore the food wasn't great. I ordered a spicy sausage plate which was extremely spicy, but disgustingly greasy. I didn't even bother taking a photo because the food looked less then appealing. We love Lynn!!! Pork Store Cafe is our favorite dining experience in San Francisco. The quality and consistency is always amazing, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Lynn's Benedict is my fav dish on the menu, I've never had a better egg-anything. My girlfriend is obsessed with the chocolate chip pancakes. And Lynn herself is amazing!! My husband and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday. They don't take reservations so we had to wait for a table but it was a pretty quick wait (about 10 minutes). There's a good selection of breakfast items on the menu. We ordered the corned beef hash and chicken fried steak. The plates came with a generous amount of biscuits! They were fluffy and tasty! I visited this place Sunday, December 13th at around 1pm and was outraged by how disrespectful the lady at the front was. I called to order and she was so rude to me over the phone, she hungup on me before I could even finish my order, didnt ask for my name, she only said "20 minutes" and hungup. I show up to pick up my order and the same woman was working the front, it was slow they barely had any business and she asks me so rudely "Are you drunk". I may have not looked my best, but to someone to rudely ask that, especially to a customer is horrible and unacceptable. Not only was she rude she was extremely disrespectful, and such an unhappy person. Food is average. Nothing special. Btw they dont offer water. I will never come to this place again. I had my luggage with me, which was super cumbersome, but since we were both there the server was nice enough to let my friend run to her car to put my luggage away. This gave me time to browse the large (and impressive) menu and to make my breakfast selection of eggs benedict ($8.95 / which was absolutely delicious!) Both my plate and Flor's were filled to the brim with food, and both were scraped clean by the end of the meal. Service was fast and friendly and the bill was a fair price! Even though I don't love breakfast, I do like hearty meals and diner dishes. $9.95 Chicken Fried Steak - breaded beef cutlets smothered in poultry gravy, with 2 eggs, biscuits: Chicken fried steak is one of my favorite things to order at diners. The thinly pounded out cut of breaded beef under a thick helping of gravy was excellent over the crunchy shredded hash browns and fried eggs. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the biscuit. It just tasted like an enormous, dense, and dry hunk of bread. It was easier to swallow with the gravy. $9.50 Eggs In A Tasty Nest - 2 eggs nestled in a bed of hashed browns with bacon, grilled green peppers, fresh tomatoes, onions & garlic topped with cheddar cheese, with biscuits: This eggs over peppers and hash brown concoction would have been a great breakfast. I'm sure it usually is. However, my plate was too salty. The peppers absorbed too much salt and the bacon added additional salt. The salty flavor was so strong I couldn't finish my food. Otherwise, it would have been just fine. Perhaps the heavily salty flavor was a fluke. Either way, the ingredients in this dish do not make it special enough for me to order again. Seems that my friend has taken a great liking to this place after his repeated trips to this area. It took him all of 10 seconds to sell me on this place by saying they have an awesome chicken fried steak. Well...who can really turn down a good chicken fried steak right? Admittedly I was pretty tempted to get their headline dish of Eggs in a Tasty Nest. Normally after partying the night before, eggs sound like the ideal option...but nope, chicken fried steak it was. I can't complain about the choice, the steak was fried very well and the gravy was ever better. Hash browns were extra crispy just how I like them, kinda wish I had more eggs but it is what it is. For the price (ESPECIALLY in the City), you can't beat it. Service was pretty good, as they came around quite often to refill our desperately needed coffee. They even switched out the eggs on my friend's corned beef hash (he wanted scrambled, not sunny side up). Kudos to them! Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. My bf seemed to have enjoyed the eggs Benny since it was gone before I could have a taste lol I had the special which is two pork chops, two eggs, hash browns, and toast or biscuit. (I heard their biscuits were bomb but he wanted the toast so we got toast) the pork chops were cooked perfectly, they were thin but not dry like some places. And the hash browns OMG. They were sooo good, they weren't all stuck together in a hard block like most places. They were crunchy and soft, and even with the generous portions I managed to finish mine AND his. Lastly, the French toast was amazing. It came topped with a mountain of blueberries, bananas, and strawberries. My fav. My husband and I were looking for a good place to enjoy brunch on Sunday before heading back home. He suggested we try Pork Store Cafe since he has been there in the past and recommended their pancakes. I never turn down good pancakes so we headed over. Street parking is your best bet here. We were lucky enough to find good parking right in the front. They open at 8 AM and we were happy to see that they were busy even at 8 AM! We were seated promptly and the staff helped us get a high chair for our baby too. We were relocated to a bigger table when it became available so that we had more room for our family of three. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and mickey pancake (for the baby..and me) and my husband ordered the mixed berry pancakes (full stake). All really really really good. Exceptionally good. I didn't realize how big my vegetarian omelette would be, there was a huge biscuit and side of hash that came with my order. I honestly couldn't finish it all and had to take it home (fine by me). The mickey pancake was perfect for me and my son to share. He ate the ears and I ate the rest. My husband's mixed berry pancakes were delicious! They had fruit cooked inside the pancake and on top! Wow! He also couldn't finish his full stake and took the rest home. A cute little place that has been around since 1914 and I imagine they will be around for a long time given the quality of their food! She knows all her regulars and is super friendly with everyone. Service was stellar. She checked in with us regularly. My husband and I first came here over 15 years ago. The Pork Store cafe is a great diner a block away from the famous Haight/Ashbury intersection. The place offers your basic breakfast diner options, but also offers some really good dishes that includes vegetarian options. The place is a little small, like 5-7 tables that fit up to 4 people and a long counter that can hold another 6 people. The food is great, the hash browns are delicious, they offer biscuits as your bread option, and they make good grits. I love the chile piquin sausage plate. The house made sausage patties are made with a good amount of spice from this wonderful chile (my family used to grow this chile in our garden, its not too spicy). With some eggs over easy, and a cup of coffee, you'll be set. I really like the food here, and want to give it 5 stars on the food alone. My criticism is that the place is a small, and the waitresses are a little hurried. If you're hungry for some great breakfast diner food, you should drop in to try this spot! read more

Once inside you notice that the menu is anything but small. I went crazy after finding that they have veggie biscuits and gravy! Since giving up meat, I crave this dish but never eat it. So this was a great surprise for me! Not sure what the gravy was made of but I am pretty sure it spinach and artichokes. Delicious! If I lived in the area I'd be a repeat customer.
