Just happened to grab a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich while waiting for a flight. And ooommmmggggg it was SO GOOD! Easily the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I added the hot peppers, which to me were barely even spicy, but I tend to like the type of heat that makes me sweat a little and most people don't tolerate. So it may be spicy for others. Any way, the bacon was by far the best bacon I've ever had and the breading was DELICIOUS! From now on I will absolutely be getting sandwiches from here before flights. Potbelly has become my go-to place for food when I am at the airport. I get the chicken and cheese sandwich which is simple yet so delicious. For years I'd usually stick to the fast food places for something to eat but once trying this, I knew I'd be sticking with it. The set up is nice and you can watch them make your food. They have lots of drink and chip options as well and the prices are pretty good for what you get. We had this on our way back from Christmas trip. We were on a short layover and wanted to grab something to eat fast. I ordered "pick a pair" with combination of half sandwich (A Wreck) and loaded baked potato soup because we were hungover and my stomach demands some soup. My sandwich was delicious! Despite the fact that I couldn't find my cheese, but the combination of meat and veggies were balanced and tasty. The soup was not the best but still edible, though. Unfortunately for my boyfriend, he ordered Italian sandwich and did not get the same result. With very less meat and no sauce, he was not pleased with his sandwich. Overall food: 3.5 out of 5. While I feel pretty good about the food, I don't necessarily feel the same for the service. It went well for the first step, in which we ordered what kind of sandwich we want and what combination I want for the soup. Then my boyfriend went to the cashier while I was still there waiting for the sandwich to be prepared, and he had to repeat our order over again because the cashier was different person and they have no idea what's going on on the "order side". So he repeated it again, but before he could finish his order, the lady was like, "combo with salad, right?" My boyfriend got confused, and before he could correct that, the lady went ahead and prepared salad for him. When I approached him at the cashier, he looked all confused and the lady was rushing her way to make a salad. As she handed the salad to us, we were so confused and told her that I ordered soup, not salad. She looked so disgruntled while preparing our soup, and almost made my boyfriend paid twice. Long story short, I think their order workflow is redundant and inefficient. There are some improvements need to be made and more communication training for the employees. They make them superquick, toast 'em, then add all the fixin's you'd like from a menu that includes things like Italian dressing, hot peppers, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. You can also go really crazy and double the meat or add bacon.. or both, whoa. I have the ham, Swiss and eggs with flat bread at the Portland airport and the quality is always good. The coffee is consistently good. The troubling factor with me comes with the employees. Their attitudes vary from a "We are not open" in more of a condescending tone to hyper drive rapid speak as you reach each stage of your order. There is more of a demanding what do you want including the rapid repetition of available options than a listening ear as I repeat four times, "avocado" then finally receive the "is that all" phrase. Today it was rather interesting since a guy two positions ahead of me was a little slow and the staff was ramping up more in effort to speed him through the line. My rating is more based upon difficult staff than quality of product. read more

The food was good, and the sandwich was tasty, light and healthy. I recommend Potbelly sandwich shop if you're hungry between connecting flights. I was introduced to Potbelly in Seattle where there are multiple chains and it's seems to have spread throughout the Northwest. It's a chain but I've always found the sandwiches nicely toasted and warm, filled with high quality and tasty ingredients, and lovely pickles and hot peppers. Recommended. Fast and friendly service and excellent food variety and choices, many very healthy and fresh. The prices were reasonable and the portions quite decent. One of the best value airport meals I've had. Had an overnight layover in PDX and was one of the places open early with decently priced food in the terminal I was in. This place is kind of like a fancier subway. You get to choose a base sandwich and choose toppings/dressings. Sandwiches are decently priced and taste good. I got the ham mushroom egg swiss breakfast sandwich for a less than $7. There is an option to upgrade to a larger sandwich for a few dollars more as well. They have topping options like lettuce and tomato's (tomato tasted a little funky but everything else was pretty good) and salad dressings. The workers were very nice and helped me through the process of building my sandwich. Not bad for airport food. Service was quick and friendly. You can order from a flat/thin sandwich, small, or big one. I ordered the grilled chicken and cheddar, and my husband ordered the pizza sandwich (it has meatballs, marinara sauce, melty cheese, etc.). Everything gets toasted up so it's warm and toasty when you eat it, and the bread has a nice slight crunch. After looking at all the different food choices, I decided to come here and get their new gyro flatbread. This place is similar to a subway(which I didn't know). The sandwich was fairly small and the flatbread was toasted a little too long so the flatbread was crunchy. You don't really know how much vegetables and sauce they put until you open up your sandwich to eat it. The gyro was dry and needed more tzatziki sauce, tomatoes and onions. Anna provided the worst experience in any retail or service establishment in our entire life. My wife and I were at the Portland Airport Potbelly in Concourse C where we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches. It was between 5:30 and 6 in the morning and the restaurant was not busy. For a brief moment we had changed to one sandwich but ultimately ordered 2 with the order taken by other employee working at the time. Anna was unaware of the change and made only one sandwich. What happened thereafter was an instructional video of what NOT to do in helping a customer. In an effort to make us feel like we had violated some universally known sandwich ordering process.... Anna was rude and condescending to the point the person behind us in line was apologizing for her behavior. I will spare all the details for time's sake. But it was stunning how combative and insistent was she was in her version of what happened. In addition, the tone of voice and facial expressions were unbelievable too. I had had enough and wanted to register a complaint to someone... and when I asked her name the response was and I quote, "None of your business". The other employee noticed the situation came over and gave us the coworkers name. As we were walking away Anna added "Make sure you tell the whole story" The aforementioned person in line stopped us outside and apologized again. My wife and I are still shaking our heads in disbelief.
