We had no idea when it was last serviced or if it had ever been serviced at all. Henry gave us a very fair and competitive price for a tune up. Upon Henry's arrival, he was friendly and professional. He opened the furnace and showed us the burner. He explained it was in great condition considering the age of the unit and it didn't need servicing; although, he did clean up around a few areas around the burner. The blower motor was slightly wobbly, and once again, he explained it was still in good shape considering its age. He proceeded to the back patio where the condenser was located. He noted the unit was very old and that particular Freon is no longer available for servicing; however, he stated the unit did not need to be replaced just yet as long as it's blowing cold. Henry indicated despite our units being way past their anticipated life expectancy, they were clean and blowing hot & cold just fine. Therefore, no servicing was recommended and he did not charge us anything. We are impressed not only by Henry's friendliness and professionalism, but also by his transparency and integrity. Many other companies would have hopped on the opportunity to upsell the service or even sway us to replace our system right away, but Henry gave us peace of mind to give us time and to save up for an inevitable replacement in the future with Therma Tech. One technician came out to fix non cooling of my downstairs AC on Mar 27. He checked out the 2 units and replaced a capacitor on the upstairs unit which was not the unit that needed repair. He also said it was a drain valve problem on the downstairs unit which he cleared. His charge was for $460 for 20 minutes of work. Air was OK for awhile, but broke down again with no cooling. Another technician came out on May 20 to check it and said it was a loose connection which he reconnected. He did not check air to see if that corrected the problem. He charged another $165. Finally Daniel came out to check it out. He could not repair it either. Finally it took $625 and no solution to the problem. I had to consult with another company who fixed the problem.

The next day, I got another call the AC failed to work again, I replaced air filter. But the next day, tenant again said the AC doesn't work. Finally, I realized it's out of my ability. I called IRBIS to check up. IRBIS sent technician Christian Lopez to my rental house, he carefully asked the symptom from me, since I don't live there, he again asked directly from tenant to get first hand information. Then he checked up thermostat, and outdoor compressor, measured the air temp from ventilation. Finally, he told me that he believed the AC is working, even though it already has 21 years of age. Because my tenant doesn't run AC during the day, so the room temp goes too high, by the time they came back around 9pm, outside temp is low, but inside is hot, in that situation, the old AC is not able to bring the temp down. So he suggested tenant to run the AC little early during the afternoon, see what happen. The AC works so far. Christian and IRBIS are very honest and professional. I definitively recommend them if you have AC problem!
