    Pad Kee Mow (Spicy Noodle)

President Thai deserves a huge shoutout from me. I am obsessed with their flavors. Do not forget to ask for the spicy spicy. I love the vinegar jalapeños!! Lunch specials are a great way to sample before you commit to dinner portion. The Pad Kee Mow was an explosion of flavor in every bite and please do not skip the Orange Chicken, yes that Orange chicken. Lunch specials come with soup or salad and fried wontons.

First time here and I don't think I'll be back. Came in with a party of 6 with a toddler, The layout is nice but personally I felt squished where we sat and it was hot. They said outdoor was cool but none of the fans were hitting us. The parking is very small and crowded. The staff were okay just felt like we were being rushed to order and they checked up on us 1 time and when we were finished eating. Soo many options to choose from, we ordered the fried calamari, orange chicken pad see ew, garlic pepper chicken and tom ka. The orange chicken and fried calamari was my favorite. Very flavorful. Great portion size. The other dishes were eh. Had better. The Thai tea was super sweet. Didn't enjoy it. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Hello Mr. President, Thai! The first word that comes to mind about this restaurant is "authentic". As soon as we entered President Thai, their classic interior gave total authentic vibes. We knew we were in for a treat. They have an extensive menu, and with pictures! We ordered their pad Thai, pad see ew, and president beef special. Wow. Each dish was so delicious! My favorite was their pad see ew. Each of their dishes were so flavorful, generous, and appetizing. I loved the chewiness of their noodles, and the tenderness of their meat. We finished off with their mango sticky rice and it was the perfect way to end an amazing dinner! I may have eaten too much, but it is totally worth it to splurge at the restaurant. If you are looking for a delicious, generous, and authentic Thai cuisine, this is the spot for you. Salut, President Thai!

I always pass by this restaurant and it always looks pretty busy so I finally decided to try it. I ordered take out and ordered 3 dishes and the total was $69, which is a bit pricey in my opinion. The food was sooo yummy. Very tasty and delicious. All the flavors were great. I think this is definitely one of the best Thai food places I've been to. I'll definitely be coming back. I do think it is pricier than other places but I do think the taste of the food definitely made it worth it.

Crab Roll (6 Pc)... good but there are other appetizers on the menu that we've had before that we like better

Been coming here for years. It's our favorite thai restaurant in SoCal. Food is consistently good & they have an extensive menu. Place always feel homey, and staff r always hospitable. For lunch today, we decided to try the crab roll appetizer which was good, but not gonna lie... I'll probably order something else next time. Ordered the mooping with sticky rice... nice portion of meat. Flavor's fantastic. We also got the green curry fish filet which we always order when we come here.

Came here for a work lunch and the food overall was good. The presidents bbq was really good and they had lunch special. Crab fried rice was good but it was a little dry. Our waiter was attentive. Owner seemed cheap about takeout containers. We were a party size 10 why be so cheap on containers? Makes me wonder what else are you cheap in the kitchen. He was so hesitant to even bring out more containers.

I think I just found my new favorite Thai restaurant in this neighborhood! Been wanting to try here for ages, but it's always packed when we drive by. I completely understand now. Went for an early dinner with my bf. Was greeted so warmly by the staff and seated promptly. We wanted to order some of our typical dishes so we can compare, so we got their Baby Corn Mushroom with Chicken, Green Curry with Sole Filet, and Thai Style Basil Ground Pork with Fried Egg. OMG! They were all gloriously drool-worthily divine!! Likely the most flavorful of these dishes that I've ever tried at a Thai restaurant to date! Completely exceeded all my expectations!! And the portions were so generous! We were so occupied stuffing ourselves silly, that we completely forgot to make room for dessert! And we still had a ton of leftovers to take home! I love this place so much already! Super friendly and attentive staff. Gorgeous decor with an appreciative traditional feel. Limited parking in lot, but it looks like the regulars prefer parking on the street out front when we were leaving. Already planning to return next time our Thai craving hits to try more of their yummy dishes! Highly recommend!!

Ambiance is amazing, food is delicious, and the workers are so kind and helpful. Portions are plentiful and wonderful. Spice is a little uneven, so if you're super specific about spice level, you can ask for hot sauces to come to your table and you can apply them yourself. Love that!! Parking is easy because of their lot. Will definitely be back!

President Thai Restaurant is one of those places that makes you think you're about to have a luxury dining experience. The dining room is gorgeous. The decor is upscale, the plating is beautiful, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The food itself tasted very good. To be fair, all of that elegance appears to be included in the bill. Compared with most Thai restaurants, the prices are noticeably higher--probably 20-30% more, sometimes even beyond that. I wouldn't have minded paying the premium if the service had matched the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it didn't. The restaurant was busy, and our table seemed to be forgotten more than once. Our final dish took over 30 minutes to arrive. Nobody checked in, nobody explained the delay, and by the end of the meal we were mostly just staring at the empty plates wondering whether the last dish had entered a witness protection program. When the check arrived, reality arrived with it. Three dishes, one coconut drink, plus tip. Just as expected, the bill marched confidently past the $100 mark. Still, none of that was the most memorable part of the evening. The most memorable part began approximately three minutes after I left the restaurant. As I sat down in my car, I noticed a faint disturbance somewhere deep within my abdomen. Nothing alarming at first. Just a small warning signal. A diplomatic message from my digestive system. Then negotiations broke down. Halfway home, my stomach launched what can only be described as a full-scale military operation. Every traffic light became a personal enemy. Every red light felt like a direct attack on my civil rights. At one point, I was calculating whether it would be faster to continue driving or start praying. I barely made it home. And when I say barely, I mean that with a level of sincerity usually reserved for survivors of natural disasters. To be fair, I cannot prove the restaurant was responsible. Maybe I have a sensitive stomach. Maybe one ingredient didn't agree with me. Maybe fate simply chose violence that evening. What I do know is this: Very few restaurants have ever served me a meal that was followed by a genuine sprint to the bathroom. The food looked fantastic. The portions were generous. The decor was beautiful. But the service was disappointing, the prices were steep, and the ending was far more exciting than I had hoped. I won't be returning. As for the salad, I wish future diners the very best of luck.

Was visiting the gardens nearby and saw this highly rated Thai restaurant. We found parking easily in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. We were seated promptly at noon on a Sunday with no reservation. They have really reasonable lunch specials, with lots of options. I ordered the ginger onion beef which came with rice, and a salad. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and the restaurant was comfortable, and spacious.

Green curry with shrimp tasted a bit watery, less of a curry and more of a soup, but these fried crab rolls were an absolute delight! Fantastic texture - would come back just to nibble more on these.

Presidents Thai Visited April 24th Parking: The restaurant and parking lot is a bit awkward to pull into as it is off a busy street, but once getting into the lot there is a decent amount of parking. The total area of the parking lot is a bit tight and maneuvering both in and out of it can be tedious so I recommend reversing parking into the spots as it makes leaving the parking lot much easier. Ambiance: The decoration was very nice and there felt an attention to detail, making the place feel more regal and more upscale than your regular weeknight Thai spot. The seating felt nicely spaced out, and even the plates felt like a cohesive and nice touch. On a Friday evening at around 5:30 pm there was no wait for a table for 2. Also just a quick warning- bring a light jacket because it was a bit chilly. Food: We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Mussamun Curry with tofu. The Pad Thai arrived hot, generously portioned, and topped with all the classic garnishes you'd expect from a good Thai restaurant (although the cabbage in the pad thai felt odd). We ordered medium spice, and our server brought out additional chillies and sauces so we could adjust the heat to our liking. The Massaman Curry was new to us, and it absolutely delivered. The curry had a rich depth of flavor creamy, warm, slightly sweet, and filled with comforting spices without feeling overly heavy. It was packed with potatoes, onions, and cashews, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. We had seen other reviews showing baby corn and additional vegetables in the curry, so we were a little disappointed that those weren't included during our visit. Still, it was a unique and flavorful dish that we were happy to try. The bowl of rice they gave us was a little dry, but it soaked the curry well and was fine. Overall both dishes tasted fresh, flavourful, and high quality. Service: The servers were polite but did not come around often. Although getting a hold of a check was a pain. Overall: Presidents Thai delivered a solid and enjoyable dining experience, especially when it came to the food and ambiance. The overall vibe was warm and welcoming with the decor and seating. The dishes were well executed and stood out in flavor. Also seemed to be worth the price considering the portions.

Pretty big Thai restaurant. Very busy lotsa customers fo sure! Got photos from their latest menu coz I know I was looking for veggie options for me. I got spicy fried noodles and bf got green curry shrimp. They took a li'l time to give food but it was Mother's Day and quite busy but no complaints since the food was soo good. Would definitely go there again and try more stuff.

The restaurant offered indoor and patio dining options. However. It was seat yourself so we had to find our own table. The sandwich had the perfect panini crunch and was packed with flavor. I especially appreciated the fresh, healthy balance of ingredients and it was satisfying without feeling heavy. The panini was served with a side salad that was equally fresh and tasty, making for a well rounded meal. Overall, a delicious and enjoyable dining experience, and I would definitely order it again.

Not only has the price increased by 20% but the drink has also gotten smaller. The flavor is still consistent from what it used to be but $10.50 for this drink is insane. I'd rather just get a real matcha drink from a legit coffee/matcha spot.

And most people aren't so lactose intolerant they can't handle a little treat once in a while. I've been wanting to try Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr. for a while since their original location is in Torrance. I'm really glad they opened a Pasadena location because we're lucky to have one here in the 626 now. Parking was easy since there are spots right in front of the restaurant, but they are metered and cost $2 per hour. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit out on the patio, which was cool and comfortable. To start, we ordered the fried tempura mozzarella sticks ($5.99), onion kakiage ($2.99), and edamame corn kakiage ($5.99). Everything was delicious, but the mozzarella sticks were the clear favorite. They were fried perfectly with an amazing cheese pull and plenty of cheesy flavor. We decided to share all of our entrees family style. For my son, we ordered the plain hot udon, which was simple and perfect for him. For the rest of us, we ordered the Premium Tempura Bowl ($32.97) and added ikura ($4.98), the cold soba with dipping sauce and tempura ($19.99), and Carlos's Jewel Box ($31.99), which came with chopped salmon, toro, yellowtail, and popcorn shrimp over rice. We also added extra toro for $8. On top of that, we ordered a side of five slices of chu-toro for $15.49, which honestly felt like a great deal. The Premium Tempura Bowl was definitely the star of the meal. Every piece of tempura was light, crispy, and fried perfectly without feeling greasy. The fried tempura egg was absolutely chef's kiss, especially once the yolk mixed into the rice. The tempura dipping sauce was also excellent and brought everything together. The Carlos's Jewel Box was another standout. The fish tasted fresh, and the rice with their house sauce paired perfectly with everything. The added toro made it even better. The cold soba was well prepared, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. That's more of a personal preference than anything because the quality was still there. The restaurant has a modern look while still feeling like a cozy mom-and-pop shop. I really liked the decor and the welcoming atmosphere. Since we were the only table sitting outside, I can't really comment on the noise level inside, but the patio was peaceful and relaxing. The service was great. The staff brought out a booster seat for my son and even helped secure it to the patio chair. They also brought us all the condiments, including ginger and pickled vegetables, without us having to ask, which I appreciated. Overall, I would definitely come back. The tempura was some of the best I've had in the 626, and the rice bowls were just as impressive. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering one of the tempura bowls. You really can't go wrong. It's great to see a restaurant that started in Torrance expand to Pasadena because it's a welcome addition to the 626 dining scene.

There was also no crunch to it. I remember the Torrance location tempura had a very nice crunch, batter was light and airy, and it stuck to the food. The sauce is the same, as they put it in the rice instead of you dipping it into a sauce. I also got cold soba on the side since they can't substitute the rice for soba. Soba wasn't anything special. The noodles at the Torrance location is better I promise! The miso soup was okay, didn't really enjoy it that much. It's not your typical miso soup. It has mushrooms in it. The mushroom flavor was too strong for me. Service was meh since we sat down first, but they took the order from our neighbors before us. Their food came out first too. Most likely won't come back to this location again. Not sure if they just had an off day when I went, but I had a disappointing experience.

It was packed with flavor even without the chipotle vinaigrette (relieved I got it on the side because I wasn't s big fan). The avocado was very fresh and plentiful. I also really liked that the bread was soft and fresh. Got the "Not so Fried" Chicken Sandwich ($13.68) - 1/2 portion and it came with a side (paid extra $1.26) for tomato basil soup. It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. I'm glad I got this in half portion because I thought this was just ok and nothing special. The tomato basil soup was very oily and salty so wasn't too enjoyable. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!

The pricing of the items ranged from $8-$10 per item we ordered which is expensive but as a treat every once in a while and for the amount of time and effort that goes into making dim sum, it was worth it. I've tried making dim sum at home and it is so hard! Pricing breakdown: $8 items: - har gow (4 pcs) - siu mai (4 pcs) - black bean spare rib - pan fried turnip cake - egg custard $9 items: - chicken feet $10 items: - shrimp rice noodle roll I think they no longer have the tripe on their menu anymore bc I couldn't find it on their online ordering. Also their chili oil was priced at $0.98, which was kind of small, I would do without it next time. ---- The parking was really tough, luckily I had another person with me drop me off then I ordered and then we double parked waiting for it to be finished. The inside of the restaurant felt like an elevated dim sum place, things were neat and a darker ambiance which felt more intimate if you decided to eat in. We took ours to-go and it was still so good! ---- Overall: if I'm ever back in Pasadena I'll be sure to stop by for dim sum, classic dishes with an elevated taste, pricey but worth it

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this…read moresmall chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
