Very cool & friendly staff. Made sufficient time in before closing and went for the White Center White(?). Really nice a bit something different for me. It had nice moisture but I don't mind a good wet base off of olive oil. Water no ice to rinse 'er down. This was a great stop and I dig it. This White Center gem has some damn good New York style pizza! My boyfriend and I ordered a simple cheese and mushroom pie. The pizzas are generous at 18" with big slices and we definitely had leftovers. The crust was super tasty and the sauce was good. It reminds me of a super good NY style pizza place I went to in Portland that I still think about, so it's awesome to have a very similar option in Rat City. My only wish is that the pizza had a bit less cheese because it does come out a bit greasy. We also shared a caesar salad, which was super lemony, and I loved it. I love caesar salad and lemon so it was a perfect combination for me. I'm excited to try more pizza combinations (and they even do half and half pizzas). They even have a pizza featuring red potatoes! Potatoes are one of my favorite uncommon pizza ingredients. Proletariat is a cool pizza joint in White Center, affably nicknamed Rat City (due to either a probably rat infestation or an old military base). It's not the most affluent area, but the pizza was superb. I ordered an 18" Margherita to go. The cheese to sauce ratio was extraordinary - it makes you wonder why Papa Johns or Pizza Hut haven't just copied Proletariat. The (maybe it was buffalo?) mozzarella came in large chunks, melted in pretty white circles over the top of each tomato slice. If I had to pick some small thing to gripe about, I'd say the basil wasn't very stunning. This pizza was just as tasty the next day cold. My friend whom I was visiting Seattle with asked the question, "Do you ever wonder why pizza places include the little white table in the center of the pizza?" That question deeply troubled me, until I realized that it's 2015 and I can look that up on the internet. Initially, I thought it was to keep the pizza slices separate. Those little white tables actually are called pizza savers. They prevent the top of the box from touching the pizza. Glad we solved that mystery. In the center of White Center, there are a street full of restaurants and shops. We walked in and decided to order their seasonal squash pizza. Perfect crust to topping ratio. Found Proletariat Pizza easily and went in to pay for the pizza. I was greeted by a smiling lady with tattoos who took care of me. The place had a friendly, bustling, humorous vibe. A big family group with lots of kids was leaving as I went in. They were all smiling and laughing. That is a good recommendation I think. We had a gluten free Hawaiian pizza. It was tasty. I love spam and pineapple together. I'm not usually a fan of gluten free food, but it was good. Basically it was a flat bread with stuff on it. Proletariat is a great place to stop in for a quick slice or just to dine in on a whole pizza. The place has a nice rustic feel with good upbeat music. The pizza is made thin with a good amount of cheese and grease to fill that guilty pleasure of yours. I had gotten a half and half of "The Real Hawaiian" (with Prosciutto) and classic "Pepperoni," the toppings was filled with a good amount of everything and had nice textures and taste on the Hawaiian side while the Pepperoni felt like a greasy and guilty pleasure.
