I've been so pumped to have a place with such a cool vibe on the south side. Pub W is always one of my staple go-to weekend spots when I don't feel up to driving too far from home. This location has really interesting light fixtures that give off an urban/steam room aura. The food is great and the menu is constantly updated with new items/seasonal features to keep each dining experience unique! Additionally, the cocktail/beer list is equally lovely. I have a hard time deciding between liquor and beer here, which is a good problem to have. Typically I am able to walk in and immediately be seated. If there is a wait it is not long. Tried for the first time today. The service was terrible. Our waitress Brooklyn did not smile once . Someone else brought our food out and she did not even come check to make sure we got our food. We had only gotten half of our order and were sitting there waiting for the other half while our food got cold sitting there. Pub W is a modern pub with good bar food and healthy options too. The pretzels and beer cheese are amazing when the pretzels aren't over cooked. The wings are good too, I get the sauce on the side. We ate here for the first time last night. Employees were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very clean as were the restrooms. Three of us ordered fish and chips. We have been looking forward to this place opening since we saw the "coming soon" sign for it. My husband has heard how good the food was and how good the beer selection was, especially the local selections. We came here on a Friday around 630. The parking lot told us we were going to have to wait because it was pretty full. We were happily surprised that there wasn't a wait at all! The outside is deceptively small looking. The inside is actually quite large with ample seating. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, followed by a friendly server ( I think get name was Jen and she was so sweet. We really enjoyed her ). We just wanted waters to drink for a start. After she gave us our bottle of water, she allowed us time to peruse the menu to find something we wanted. It was a bit difficult, because we kinda wanted everything! It all looked really good. We finally gave her our order and started looking around at everything. It's all very modern looking with televisions everywhere. It would be a great spot to come with friends to watch a game. The lighting they had everywhere was really cool and the giant fan is something that really caught my eye. The vibe of the place is really laid back. Everyone was having a good time, with a few people sitting at the bar but it was still quiet enough that you could have a nice date or family dinner. I saw plenty of kids, so don't let the name fool you. I'd definitely bring mine. Our appetizer arrived in a timely fashion. We chose the pretzels with the beer cheese sauce. The pretzels were firm on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. That beer cheese sauce was so good, you could probably dunk a shoe in it and it would taste good. It will be hard to pick something else for an appetizer next time we come. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the chupacabra. First, the fish and chips... There are places that do fish and chips and there are places that DO fish and chips. This place can throw down on some fish and chips! The fish was big and chunky- no searching for the fish in a thick batter here. They flavor was so good, you don't even need the Tatar sauce that comes with it. Just lemon will do nicely, or it did for me and I'm super picky about fish. I will say, it could have been cooked a little longer. Some of the batter in the middle was under cooked and a bit gooey. I just ate around it. My husband was pleasantly surprised with the chupacabra. I stole a bite and it was wonderfully spicy and creamy and delicious. He really liked it and would get it again. After dinner, my husband got a few beers they offered. Some local and one foreign that he really enjoyed. The Moscow Mule was really good. I can't speak for the desserts. They only had a few and nothing sounded worth the calories, to me anyway. I would suggest anyone and everyone who is in the area to go try this place. It's really good. You won't be sorry. read more

We live next to the new shopping center in South May in where Pub W settled down in south west OKC area. We supposed to have a get together there but it did not happened but my wife and I decided to do anyway. We were surprised by the amount of cars which covered the whole shopping center. We were greatly impressed by how big is this place, nice ambiance, the center of the pub/restaurant was pretty open, with booth style seats on the borders and a big bar area in the center of it. Big screen tvs all over the restaurant. Our server ( don't remember his name) was very nice but a little on the introverted side, greeted us soon and we order an appetizer and a couple of cocktails. My wife ordered a white Zinfandel and I ordered a classic mojito, wife enjoyed the wine, my mojito was good but not impressed by the presentation. Our appetizer, tuna ceviche came and I slowly begin to fell in love with the kitchen of this place. The ceviche was full flavors, the banana chips???, that come with the ceviche complemented the dish on the eye test and in the flavors, the ceviche was full of flavors and some spicy sauce (which I don't usually like) but this was very subtle and the heat took a back seat to the ceviche. I ordered a grilled salmon with pieces of the most delicious shrimp I had ever tasted ( yeah...only two, and I have one to my wife..) the salmon was perfectly cooked, not over or underdone, a delicious and crispy outside with a moist inside, heavenly!!. The fish was graciously accompany by rice and spinach, which were cooked to the point in where they lose the crispness and begin to become soft and they stop the cooking process, again the best I ever try. My wife got a mediterranean flat bread, good but nothing that my palate craved. Pub W, I went for the drinks and I found a kitchen, trade I make any day of the week... Even this past Friday!! First time here. Came in with friends to check it out. We live nearby so we're hopeful that we can add another place to eat to our short list. We walk in and are sort of greeted by some young ladies at the front. We were seated in a booth apparently right under an air vent because it was cold! Our waitress brought over a carafe of water and took drink orders. I just normally stick with water, so I poured from the carafe into these small glasses. Whatever, no big deal, but I do drink a lot of water. (I went through 2 by myself. Would've been nice to have been offered some ice or lemon, but whatever again.) I ordered chicken fried steak and the others in our party all ordered chicken tenders. While we waited on the food, we looked around. It's a cool little restaurant - lots of tvs so I'd imagine that is a good place to watch games. It seemed clean and the other patrons looked to be enjoying their food. Food comes out - it's hot and looks great! Their chicken tenders came with fries and hushpuppies. Normally that meal comes with honey mustard, but they opted for white gravy (which was sausage gravy). My meal cane with mashed potatoes, green beans, a piece of toast (maybe called jalapeño toast?), and sausage gravy over the CFS. Dining companions all loved the chicken tenders. Said they were moist and very tender. No one liked the hushpuppies. One of them did not like the fries - said they were too heavy with the salt. Everyone loved the gravy. My CFS was decent. It had a really good breading on it but was a little tough. CFS is hard to do, I know that. But Charleston's has them beat on that. The mashed potatoes were okay, but the green beans weren't something I'd order again. The toast was toast. It was meh. Our waitress came by one right after we got our food, but never came back until it was time for the check. We saw what looked to be a manager walking around and speaking to a few, but we weren't a group that he chatted with at all. Overall, I'd probably go back and try the fish and chips or a burger. I don't believe any of our meals were of the quality that the prices reflected, but, like I said, I'll try it again. read more

Went on Saturday during brunch and started off with the Squashpuppies! These were excellent, like hush puppies with jalapeño jelly and honey butter! My daughter and I split the chicken fried steak and eggs with some spicy breakfast potatoes! Chicken fried steak was crispy and hot! We split a bread pudding which was glorious with a maple, pecan syrup and super light whipped cream! I had a Bloody Mary that was very tasty too! Perfect place, except it was a little cool in there! After a mishap with our first seating on the patio, the manager caught us on the way out and insisted we stay and let them make it up to us. This time we were seated inside. The lighting is great and, though louder inside, the acoustics keep conversation doable at a normal level (no yelling across the table). We were comped an appetizer with all the works as an apology for the initial mess up and our waiter and manager tended to us frequently, as well as paying plenty of attention to other tables nearby.
