After the my last two visits, I will not be returning to this Putnam Kia Service shop anymore. I was quoted for a $3k service job that cost me $7 to fix on my own! In July 2024, I went in for a service package that included a wheel alignment and also for two recalls. After the whole day, they told me only one recall was complete and that they could not align the wheels due to bent wheel arms. In Nov 2024, my steering wheel was making a clunking noise when I would turn it. I went again to the dealer as I figured I'd get the experts to look at it since it's a steering issue. First, turned out both recalls were never completed back in July, so they completed that service (I saw the replaced fuse). Second, the service advisor tells me that technician found two small cracks on my steering column and would need a new steering column (total service/part of $3k+!). After the shock, I checked online and found this noise is commonly attributable to the steering column coupler ($7). I removed the steering wheel column myself and inspected it, found no cracks anywhere. I replaced the coupler (took me 3 hrs) and the steering wheel works perfectly w/o any noise. How can a factory trained technician not know this is a known problem with 10yr old Kia's???? How lazy/sleazy or inept can this $3,000 to $7 recommendation be? Why was I told a recall had been completed in July when it wasn't? I see a pattern here, definitely not a responsible one by a Kia Dealer. I checked the wheel arms under my Kia and don't see any that are bent. The wheels are now aligned after I changed the coupler. I cannot trust this place anymore (its mechanics), which is too bad since the service people seemed nice. read more

We found our perfect Kia Telluride at Putnam Kia after searching several dealers for the exact interior and outerior color my mom wanted! I contacted Putnam Kia via a call and Kevin was able to immediately help me out. He sent me images of the vehicle as I live about an hour and a half from them. As soon as we walked into the dealer, they knew who we were and what we were looking for. Kevin met us outside and was great at explaining all the car features during our test drive and answering all of our questions. I was looking to replace my Tesla, so I was looking at a few new EVs. I went to Audi/Porsche and spoke with someone there and they were fantastic. At one point my wife saw the Kia EV6 and told me she loved the way it looked. So, I went over to Putnam Kia to ask some questions and inquire about ordering a car from them. The two sales guys who were there didn't even get out of their chairs when I walked in and they made zero effort to greet me. I walked over to them and had to ask if they were I sales or what. They said they were. I asked some questions about timelines to order and some other things. They answered the questions but were super dismissive. At no point did they introduce themselves or get out of their chairs. Now, I don't want to have a salesperson badger me or anything, but you at least have to be a human being doing a job and greet your customer. I don't know what their management is doing, but they're doing a terrible job. After looking at different makes and models, I ended up down at Stevens Creek Genesis and got the new GV60 EV crossover. Every time I drive by Putnam Kia I just think how awful their management must be to have such a terrible culture where they don't greet potential customers or try to answer questions willingly. I've also told a number of my friends about this and told them they should never shop at Putnam Kia. read more

This review is for their service dept only(not the sales). I brought in my Kia for problem where rpm stays the same when I step on the gas on and off. The service could not figure out the issue(I left my car running with the esc light lit and asked them to hook up a scanner for dtc) but instead they wanted to charge $900 for brake pads and rotors and replace steering rack for $1500 for creaking noise. To release my car, they wanted to charge 150 diagnostic fee, so I argued hard to get my car back without paying. Creaking noise was worn out sway bar links, not the steering rack. With labor, they wanted to rip off more than $3000 from me. Not sure if they are plain incompetent or down right frauds. read more

I'm so thankful to finally have another KIA dealership on my side of the bay. For over 4 years, I've had to settle for the less than adequate service I was receiving from Oakland KIA. My first experience with Putnam KIA started with Thalia Garcia and couldn't have gone any better. When she greeted me with 'good morning' (twice), my experience was already 100% better than it was at Oakland KIA. In addition to the oil change, which was my main service today, they also installed a seat belt part that had been broken for almost two years. It was the plastic disc on the driver's seat belt which prevents the buckle from falling to the floor when not in use. When this plastic disc first broke, I reordered the part from Oakland KIA. I asked if they could install it for me but they refused saying they don't do that kind of repair. I was told I would have to take it to a car upholstery place. The part has been sitting in my glove box ever since until today. Putnam KIA installed it as complimentary service and didn't even charge me! How cool is that? The guest waiting area was also top notch. The seats were cozy and the whole area was comfortable and properly ventilated. The guest wifi also worked very well. These creature comforts have been absent the last two times I was at Oakland KIA for service. If you have a KIA and have been dissatisfied with Oakland KIA, come check out Putnam KIA instead. Rude on purpose. We called in advance to see if they were available, a salesperson responded that he would be around. When we got in there were two other people available, but they made sure not to help us because we had called someone else and thus we were not their assigned customer. After 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave, and as we told him a gentleman dismissed us with "no problem". When I asked whether perhaps they were sorry that we wasted our trip, he insisted that it's not as fault, because they all work independently. We haven't purchased a new Car or been on a dealership lot in 15+ years. I saw a car for sale on AutoTrader from Putnam Kia. Inquired about it and Dennis Flores message me asking if I needed any help to purchase a vehicle. I live an hour and a half away and told him I don't want to waste any time haggling over cost. I really was expecting high pressure back and forth dealing going for hours like the old days. But once I got there Dennis approached me and was so cool and accommodating. He worked the best deal possible. Plus he set up everything prior before driving over, making sure the financing is in place, insurance, detailed the car and filled it up with gas. After searching all over the Bay Area for the KIA model I wanted I finally tracked it down at Putnam. After contacting them through their web site I got an immediate response from Luke. We exchanged messages and calls about my expectations on price and once we came to a good figure I went over for a test drive. The 2023 Niro EX is sleek and filled with amazing tech features. The purchasing experience was no hassle as we had already agreed on terms. Once in the sales office be prepared to decide on maintenance contracts and other extras. I chose the windshield replacement insurance/body maintenance option after modifying part of the purchase agreement. Never felt any real pressure. I'm really happy with my new KIA and only wish I lived closer in order to deal with their Service Department instead of the one closest to me. read more

My advice, DO NOT buy from here if you are going to get financing Pros: They had the car I wanted with no mark up and were generally accommodating during the buying process Cons: I was told that I had a certain amount of time to find alternative financing after the car was purchased for no penalty. So imagine my surprise when I contacted them with a better offer within the time period they outlined and was told 4 different times that the finance person was out of the office or could not help me. I'm still waiting for a call back 4 days later. Because of this I am now locked into a loan with a rate that is significantly higher than the financing offer I received from another lender. So basically their lack of follow up is costing me thousands of dollars. Great customer service when they want you to buy, horrible once you're off the lot. read more

I bought a Kia EV9 one month ago from Putnam Kia. My sales person was Farhad and the manager was Ion. Keith was the "EV9 specialist" and also helped with the transaction. I was nervous about buying an all electric 3 row car due to the online chatter about some people having issues with their 12V batteries. Farhad and Keith assured me that they had sold tons of EV9's and none had any issues. On Friday 4/19 my wife went to use our car to get medication for our 3 week old daughter and the car was dead. The car has less than 900 miles on it and had 70% state of charge on main battery. I had the car jumped but it was dead again an hour later. I reached out to Farhad but could not get ahold of him. I called the dealership and they transferred me to the service center. The service center did not answer so I left a VM at 1:15pm. The service center did not call me back on Friday and is closed on the weekends. I had my car towed to the dealership on Saturday and was informed I should use my car insurance to get a loaner. I finally got ahold of Farhad and he told me he was on a picnic and to talk to the service center. Nobody cared about me or my family. I absolutely would not do business with this dealership ever again. read more

My experience with Putnam Kia has been nothing short of a nightmare, so much so that I regret buying a car off of them. Since day one, dealing with Luke (who botched up the monthly lease payment amount to manipulate us into thinking that he was getting me a great offer while he had no intention of doing so), the issues that I have had with my brand new 2023 Kia Sportage have all been a huge headache to deal with. The day I took my car off of their lot, I noticed that the lights on the steering wheel buttons were not working. When I took the car in for inspection, it took the service center WEEKS to figure out that there was something wrong with the buttons. I took my car in the center for repairs atleast 5-6 times without ever been given a loaner, even on a day when I was told they would give me the car back but forgot to mention that the center would be closed for the weekend and my car was in the service center for the ENTIRE WEEKEND because they failed to communicate this with me. As a result of his unethical pricing practice, Luke acknowledged his mistake and promised to get me three free maintenance for the car. A couple months into driving my new car (mostly on 101 for commute), I noticed the steering wheel shaking when I pressed the brakes and found out that the rotors were bent when I took it for the first maintenance. Around the same time, there was a disgusting foul smell coming out of my AC vents for some reason. Mind you, this was all just in a year of buying my brand new car. I was told by Crystal in the service center that the rotors were damaged as a result of my driving (apparently she claimed I was driving like a maniac on 101 pressing the brakes too much which damaged the rotors) and refused to REPLACE the rotor pads after repeatedly telling her that rotors take years to damage. After being forced repeatedly, she agreed to RESURFACE the rotors instead under warranty, which was just a temporary solution as the rotors were going bad in the first place. The issue has since come back after getting them resurfaced and the service center has refused to help me with it. Two weeks ago, the AC vents stopped blowing out any air and the service center could not figure out what the issue was. I was asked to leave my car in the center for a couple of days WITHOUT BEEN GIVEN A LOANER. When I requested a loaner, I was told that they don't have any availability and that I would need to be without a car for three days and miss work. I was told I would be getting a call once a loaner became available but I haven't heard from them since. The service offered to me by Putnam Kia since day one has been overwhelmingly disappointing. I have had at least four issues with my car and it hasn't even been a whole two years since I bought it. I have shared my concern with them over driving a car with warped rotors but they do not give a flying shit after the car has been sold. Kia customer center has been equally useless with providinng any sort of help, after having complained to them multiple times about all the issues I have been facing with the car. Save yourselves the horror and headache of dealing with the people at Putnam Kia and please get yourself a high quality car from another brand! My experience buying a car from Kia, especially Putnam, has been HORRIBLE! read more

Review for service department. Contacted service department and person who answered phone, Cristal, was extremely rude. My 2017 Kia Sorento's engine was starting making knocking noise and the car shutdown. They did a diagnostic and came back saying that the engine was no longer covered under warranty and that they were not responsible for replacing. She wouldn't let me talk to the service advisor, she stated that "They will tell you the same thing that I had told you because I tell them what to say." Does this make sense to anyone? 3 months later of my car being parked, a friend recommended to contact Kia in Stockton. They looked up the vin and said the vehicle has extended warranty and they will order a new engine and replace it at no cost. I'm so happy I didn't give up, I would've been out $5000. read more
