This review is about how you should NOT treat your customers. We love to eat out so we are always on the prowl for new Filipino restaurants in NJ. We decided to give Qsina a try at around 2 pm on a Sunday. It wasn't busy. There are 3 rows of tables, both end row tables had people eating but spaced out except for the middle row tables which are empty. A middle aged man welcomed us and he asked the middle aged woman where to sit us. She pointed to an end corner table which looked like it was just vacated. It was not clean, cleared yet and scattered rice on the floor. The woman who was also busy with something said I would clean it. So we were standing right by the door and a younger man came from behind and said for 2? And I said yes, he was going to give us a table from the middle row, which are all empty and clean. Then the woman came up again and said that she is going to give us the soon to be cleaned table. And the man said something which I couldn't hear and the woman still insisted on the soon to be cleaned table. Then there was an argument to which we turned around, said never mind and went straight out the door. For a new place, you would think the restaurant would welcome new customers with open arms and give you the best table possible. I was looking forward to try their dishes but how they treated us wasn't worth it at all. Good food and customer service goes hand in hand in running a restaurant. Every person that walks through that door should be given respect. Don't seat anyone to a dirty table when there is plenty of clean tables to be had! I'll drive all the way to La Parilla in Iselin who treats customers very well and the food is great. read more

I never had Filipino food before and met a buddy here on the suggestion of the Nurses at Cooperman Barnabas Hospital. We got some calamari and spring rolls to start. Nice fresh tender Calamari and the rolls were excellent. Then on to Pork Sisig and the Bistek steak, both quite tasty. But what the star of the meal is the sizzling rice desert! I've eaten here twice now. My first time I sat in and it was a great experience. The music isn't too loud and the songs they choose are relaxing. The people are nice and they give you the feeling that they care about you ask customers. They were so busy when we came, but they got us seated and our food came faster than what we expected. We got the pork sisig, the bbq assortment, and the kare kare. Everything was seriously delicious. The bbq was perfect, the sisig and the kare kare were delightful surprises. I crave their food just thinking about it. We also got the dessert where they mix three in one and it was unique and tasty. We really enjoyed it. The second time we went there we got take-out. We tried things we weren't sure we would like, the beef steak, the little rolled appetizers (can't remember the name) and cumin noodles dry (I can't remember what they are called exactly, but they are in the soup section). The noodles were good, but personally they weren't my cup of tea. I could taste that the food was quality, but I needed something plain to eat with the noodles as there was so much flavor it was a little overwhelming. The beefsteak was tasty, but it did not beat our first experience. The rolled appetizer was good too, but nothing that excited us like our first time there. I highly recommend eating in. I think the food is just better that way. The food is all quality, and I would eat here every night if I could afford it. Please check this place out!! Even if you try something new like we did and it isn't your favorite, the food is still better than anything else you will find nearby. Love this restaurant. It needs more attention!! It's a nice small dine in filipino restaurant that has potential. Place is located on a busy street and it took us 15 mins. just to find parking. There were 3 servers but it seems like the older lady was the only one that's running the restaurant. Service is slow and you almost have to ask for anything you need such as water, napkins and utensils. Bulalo is good, nice sweet bbq, the cassava at Trio sampler was hard and there's too much fat on their pork sisig. The older lady billed us 25% service charge which is way too much. read more

Came here last night with two friends wanting to try something new, and we were very pleasantly surprised ! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very homey and comfortable. We started off with a lychee and mango+dragon fruit lemonade and they were absolutely delicious - very sweet and tart. My friends got the 7-spice wings which they absolutely loved, and when I tried them I totally understood why. The chicken was clearly fresh and good quality, and the seasoning was deliciously unique to the restaurant. For my entree I ordered the laksa, my friend got chicken sisig and my other friend got a beef & noodle platter. All of our plates were empty by the end. The food is insanely delicious and you can tell that the chef's know what they're doing, and they do it phenomenally - major props to the kitchen staff they have here. Our waitress was Ruby (who also happens to be one of the owners) and she was an amazing server ! As a server myself, is very refreshing to see an owner actually take part in the service staff and play a role. We had some great talks last night, it was an overall pleasure to meet and chat with her. We will definitely be returning to try out more menu items soon ! read more

From the staff, to the ambiance and especially the food we were so glad we stopped in! The staff is the perfect balance of attentive and knowledgeable but not overbearing. The noodles are made fresh in house daily and it's clear from the food that these people love what they do. We had the pork/during Siomai and the chicharones for appetizer.
