So, if you are like me and want to eat some varied and good Korean food, this is the perfect place to go. For $25, you can get an all you can eat Korean Barbecue with many different meats and sides. The spread is really impressive. The food keeps coming. It kept coming and I kept eating. Plate after plate after plate. 3 hours into this prize fight, my eyes were glazed with Korean barbecue sauce. The waitress, who started to look like Sugar Ray Leonard, asked me if I wanted any more. In my best impression of Roberto Duran, I said "No mas". I got a TKO. Total Korean Overload. The food here is really tasty and the meats well cooked. The service is alright. The interior is forgetful. Hey, I already forgot what it looked like. But you are not here for the interior. I am from D.C. and there are Korean BBQ places on every corner. So when looking fo KBBQ it was a tough here in Fort Lauderdale. There is not many and most are all in the same spot. Here at this location there are about 3-4 with Gabose across the street. Many places usually have a hot plate or something that allows you to cook your meat. Here you don't have that option even though the tables are equipped with it. I like this place the most even though you can't cook yourself you get more bang for your buck! You can buy the all you can eat but the way to go is a la carte. If you have a large group, 4 or more get one of each and it will be plenty. At most KBBQ they bring out tons of side dishes that you can eat with your meal. Here they do provided those but not as many as the authentic places I have been to. If you don't see something you are use to just ask. I recommend the short rib, spicy pork and beef. This places hit all the right spots on the flavor scale and it is my go to. I have crave this place and come regularly!!! We did the Karaoke room this time and it was a blast tons of songs and great food. Like all KBBQ places they are opened late. I believe until 2am. First off I am disclosing that there was a group of 16 of that went for dinner. The food was amazing!!! We did the all you can eat upgraded to get the ribs. All the meats, side dishes and soups were incredible!! The meat were a mix of no spicy to spicy, which was perfect because I can eat very spicy foods but some of the people in the group were no spice eaters so it's a great mix. However there were some downfalls. Service is a little slow, it took a while for us to get more side dishes and refills on water. However it looked as though there was only 2 people working. BUT-- the restaurant smelled really bad (odor hits you as soon as you walk in the door), the floor was grimy, and the tables didn't seem that clean. Given the other Korean options in the area, probably won't be visiting R.O.K. again. If the parts of the restaurant that are visible to the public are that dirty, I can't imagine how bad conditions must be back in the kitchen. 2.5 stars read more

Me and my boyfriend decided to celebrate our 4 year anniversary here and I can say I am pretty satisfied that we did. This was both of our first time trying traditional Korean BBQ and it was a risky choice. My boyfriend is the time that survives off burgers and chicken tenders and hates trying new things. I definitely took this anniversary to my advantage to do something adventurous and spontaneous! We opted for the all you can eat "basic" package with 4 meats for $22 each. The waitress explained there was a button at the table if we needed anything, that's awesome and makes everything less awkward. We loved that! More places should do it. She first brought us a handful of sides to try and request more if we liked them. The salad and miso soup were my favorite part of that. The salad had a dressing on it that was to die for, I practically begged for the recipe. This was also my first experience trying kimchi and I really liked it. I liked the omelet side, the potato salad, and there was this really weird jelly type thing that I didn't necessarily like but was super intriguing. Then, out came the meat. There was chicken, pork belly, spicy pork, and something called bulgogi which is apparently a steak with some sweet type sauce. I fell in love with the chicken, but head over heals for the spicy pork. I couldn't get enough of it. I practically ate the entire portion by myself. My boyfriend and I are very big eaters and we didn't ask for any repeats. Maybe next time we don't even need the all you can it. We also tried Hite for the first time, a Korean beer. It's the lightest beer I've ever tried, so definitely give it a go if you like light beer. Mostly I can't wait to return for the spicy pork. I loved this place, highly recommend. I'm sure they haven't heard this one before but ROK rocks. I'm a noob to Korean BBQ and this was my first soiree. Boy was I amazed. The presentation alone was 5 stars. Meat comes to the table on sizzling plates and smells amazing. There are all these little bowls of appetizers and palate cleaners. There was so... much... food. We must have eaten like 8 plates of meat. My favorite was the bulgogi. Did I mention it was all you can eat? You press this button on the table and it calls the waiter whom happily brings you more meat. The experience was epic and worth every penny. Although the decor/atmosphere is not much to write home about, the service tops off the food nicely! On every occasion, the service has been second-to-none. They accommodate all dietary restrictions as well as preferences. The servers are very knowledgeable about the ingredients and go above-and-beyond to ensure that everything is beyond satisfaction! It also helps that each table has a buzzer in case a table is in need of something - they literally come running! The ladies are nice and the food is good HOWEVER, the food takes FOREVER to come. I literally have to wait 20 minutes between each round. The rounds of food are SO tiny and appetizers are gross and small and they gave us the miso soup AFTER the second round......the soup should be out with the appetizers. The server also brought the cups of rice out wrapped in her shirt (that she's wearing) because they were hot. I'm typing this review as I wait for the third round after my ten minute nap. I came with two people and we ordered the All You Can Eat for $22. It was amazing, we loved the salad (what's the secret sauce?! Please tell us!) and we loved the meat, the service, everything was great. The people I came with aren't from America and they said they really liked the idea of the service button (I did too). I think more restaurants should adopt this; servers are busy and with the buzzer, they can accustom your needs right away. :) They were also hesitant when we came in (around 5:20pm) and it was only two other parties here, but I knew business would pick up. As a South Floridian you kind of just know these things. Forty minutes later, the place was packed :) We really loved the Bulogogi and Spicy Pork. We got two servings of that & I asked for a fried egg on the side ($1.50) I have to say the portions were great for the price, in comparison to other Korean places I went to. I actually went to Gabose (right across the street) a while back and I think R.O.K has them beat. They were better than Myung in Weston which has great tasting food (kind of pricey) but Myung needs to work on their hospitality. R.O.K. has great customer service. We arrived around 5:30pm half an hour after opening. We were kindly greeted and sat in a booth. We had to wait while to get our cups of water after requested which was weird considering it was fairly empty. We ordered the all you can eat original instead of the upgraded one because they were all out of short ribs. As I looked around no one had their food. I overheard another waitress excusing themselves because they hadn't cooked anything and just opened so they just started up the kitchen. I found that pretty odd, because in most restaurants workers come earlier to prepare for opening. So we had to wait quite some time. We got our side dishes before the meat. The miso soup came way later. And then finally the food came and was already cooked because they don't have the permits for you to cook your own food on the table grill at the moment. Everything tasted delicious and was packed with flavor, we were ready for seconds! I recommend for people to come a few hours after opening to avoid the slow service. Absolutely killer. Some friends and I were coming out of the AMC 6 at 11:30 pm hungry for something good that wasn't fast food bs. I was happy to find an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant open till 2AM nearby. It was a no brainer. We were one of the only tables there when we came which confused us because the service did take a long time, a long long time. We all decided we wanted the basic buffet to try for the first time, the premium upgrade is 5 dollars to get ribs included. It took about 15 minutes for the sides to come out and upwards of 30 for the first round of meats to come out. But it was well worth it, the 4 types of meat were unbelievable. We had about 4 rounds of all the meats and the sides. The amount we ate was unholy but it was absolutely amazing every meat was great and it made just want to come back and try the ribs. Obviously Labor Day should be celebrated with BBQ! And since I was too lazy to fire up the grill, I settled on Korean BBQ. I have been to the place across the road, had a great experience along with a very high bill.... so we decided to check out ROK with high hopes of the buffet style BBQ being great. Once seated, our waitress came over and explained how the BBQ option would work. $22 for all you can eat beef, spicy pork, pork belly and chicken. For $5 more you could add on short ribs. All of the sides would be all you can eat as well, except for the miso stew/soup. We opted for the cheaper option and food started coming out immediately. The started salad with a creamy dressing was one of my favorites. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to order another as part of the buffet, but I wish I had asked....I'll be craving that dressing for awhile. I can't tell you what all of the sides were since some were definitely foreign to me, but the sweet black beans were great and new to me. The kimchee was great as well, as were the bean sprouts. The plates of meat finally arrived and we got busy making lettuce wraps with rice, meat and sides... A push of the button on the table brought the waitress back for all of our needs - more sides, more meat. We did get a second round of the pork belly and the spicy pork. And let it be noted that I really don't like chicken all that much, but their chicken was excellent! If you're looking for something different to try I highly recommend ROK. read more

This place is one of the funnest Korean restaurants here in Broward. Their pineapple soju is amazing alone with their Korean BBQ. They also offer Korean Karaoke Room ~ Noraebang. The staff are kind and welcoming, and they provide you with a buzzer in case you need assistance at your table. We are greeted by 1 friendly waitress who is running around like a madwoman seating patrons, receiving orders, getting food, cleaning up, and all with a smile. Kudos to service. (who graciously wrote a well-detailed review, so I won't be stealing his "kimchi") brought me here. As a New Yorker (who used to live in the 305), I am a bit picky and skeptical on how the concept will work in Miami. But, it does! All-you-can-eat meat for $22? This includes pork belly, spicy pork, chicken, and beef, plus a soup, some korean-styled appetizers, and the kicker? UNLIMITED bowls of white rice. Yes, people, CARBS. Korean rice holds a special place in my stomach; it's fluffy, sticky, and absorbs the dipping sauce and the meat oh, so well. Take that, Uncle Ben! The appetizers are your standard versions of what you will frequently find in korean restaurants Are they great? They're decent. If I was to knit pick, the kimchi is a bit too fresh and not fermented enough (sour), but it might be catered to the more general audience. But, everyone's here for the meat right? In order of preference, I really enjoyed: Chicken, Pork belly, Beef, and spicy pork. The chicken was juicy, tender, and flavored well. The pork belly (taste like bacon) was crispy (a little dried but remedied with the sesame dipping sauce). The Beef? Can't go wrong with beef. The spicy pork could have been spicier. Just do this: Order all the meats once and see which ones you and your party like; then order those. The soup is passable and I'd just skip it for more meat. I was so "meat-out" that I wanted to go vegetarian for a day or 2. Totally recommend for a large group. Another kicker? They do all their BBQ in the kitchen so you won't come out smelling like one. I have been living in Korea for the past four years. I've come to see that finding the real thing in the States can be tricky. I'm also originally from San Francisco where Korean restaurants are a-plenty. With that said, R.O.K. is the place to be in South Florida for good, authentic and affordable Korean food. I'm amazed at the prices at other restaurants for noodle dishes and soups. They shouldn't be so pricey, but I can understand how some ingredients are hard to come by. The food was very delicious as I treated my family to Bulgolgi (marinated beef), kimchi pajeon, japchae and the mussels. They loved it all! The chef was very generous and offered us free spring rolls and dessert. Korean restaurants in Korea usually give a little extra for free ...so whoo hoo! The menu is concise and well put together. I've noticed most Korean restaurant menues in America are confusing and full of too many things. This menu got to the point and had many fusion dishes to try. The atmosphere is family style and cozy. The restaurant could do with some low lighting and music, to give it a more modern feel. Also could use some more decorations. !! THe tables have the push-call buttons! This is an amazing feature of living in Korea. When you need service you just push the button. For some reason, I was under the impression that ROK did grill at the table style bbq. Woops, I was wrong. However, they DO have an all you can eat bbq buffet consisting of pork belly, spicy marinated pork, marinated chicken, and marinated beef for $22. The price falls in line with other AYCE KBBQ I've had. For $5 more, you can get short ribs. NOTE: Everyone at your table must agree to the buffet. Everyone must also agree to the short ribs for extra $5 per person. So invite wisely. We skipped out on the spicy pork and chicken, but the rest was sooo good! My fave was the pork belly. I pretty much claimed both rounds of it for myself. It goes really well with the sesame oil + salt dipping sauce they give. I'm a huge fan of that sauce. The meat isn't the only thing that's good either. The house salad dressing was yummy! I wanted to keep eating it but afraid to fill up on greens when I was there for the meat! KBBQ is typically a pricey affair so at $27 a pop with all your fixings you could typically want and you don't need to cook it, it's a great deal. The best thing is that it's open until 2am for karaoke or super late night meals...I went last night at midnight and the quality did not diminish. One thing is that you need to press the button at the table for service. If you're not used to that, then you might misunderstand their ignorance as bad service. The Food was Out Standing and I did went with my CVP Croc Pack of 25. True since we had to SUV and CUV (Crossover Utililty Vehicle) in 2 autos head to the place. One was a OLD Cadlillac Escalade Hybrid Gas Hog and Lexus RX450 Hybrid anyway, We went there and the food was AWESOME! The funny thing is. Everytime I do go out with my CVP Buds, Some how its raining HUGE SUV HOGS that eats up the parking spots no matter where CVP bud we went with but We had 2 LARGER autos (1 FULL SIZE SUV and 1 mid size CUV) and the Parking that night was PACK to the bone! The last time we went out we REALLY lost our friends cars with those DAMM SUV and CUV and STILL get screwed in the long haul GO FIGUAR????
