We were celebrating a birthday and I wish we would have chosen any other place. We use to be regulars but we won't be back! Tables uneven and wobbled, NO hand soap in the ladies restroom, soy sauce containers empty at the tables. Missing food we ordered before we were presented with the bill (didnt notice we hadn't received everything we ordered). Hostess estimated 10 minutes for a table, waited three times that long before opting to eat in the bar. Not a staff issues, these are management problems and so disappointing! Visited RA Sushi on my birthday. It is conveniently located next to AMC which is perfect for before or after a movie. I also love how this place is open until 12am because why not eat sushi under the moonlight!? The place has great vibes, flexible seating (bar, booths, tables, outdoor) and decent food. I've honestly never understood how Ra has so many locations and a following. I just legitimately think it's over priced and over hyped sushi. Even going on happy hour their sushi is still pretty expensive. Their famous Las Vegas roll is very decent and their main sushi rolls are very pricey. The shrimp shumai was good except for the yellow mustard. It would of paired better with spicy yellow mustard. We used our wasabi to dip it instead and was yummy. All of our dishes came out in time except our spicy yellow tail roll took an extremely long time like they were still trying to catch the fish and cut it up. Sushi was cool... not the best, and missy definitely not the worst. Service was super slow. Our waitress came up to us, took our drink orders then didn't come back for about 10 minutes. No biggie. It's was just two of us, and we were catching up, so we weren't thirsty. When we finally made our order, maybe 15 minutes later, one roll came out- for my friend, but I had to wait about 20 minutes for my fillet mignon sushi. Fancy. I know. Honestly, not too fancy. I had high hopes, it was just okay. I doubt I'd go back for another. For right now, I think I'm over Ra. It's not what it used to be, but, Who knows... maybe I just went on an off night. Came here on a Sunday night for six people. We were told a 30 minute wait and after 40 minutes we checked back in on the front desk to see how much longer. They told us about 35 more minutes so I politely said we were told about 30 minutes at first and it's been 40. The host checked with her servers and were able to seat us right away. We ordered so many things and here's our verdict: Garlic edamame is a hit! Definitely recommend. Miso is watery- have had better. Las Vegas Roll is different from others and I liked the uniqueness of this one! A must try. Zucchini tempura is a nice refreshing taste especially with the sauce! Chicken teriyaki with fried rice is very good. It's a staple and great option for kids! Filet Mignon and Shrimp was pretty good. Meat was juicy and tender but not as flavorful. Shrimp was cooked pretty perfectly. Red sake Sangria was great for someone like me that occasionally drinks because it didn't have a super alcoholic taste. Our server Mariah was great. This is a really nice and chill place that i started coming too. I grew up in the area and despite not being a big fan of Sushi I needed to check out a place to just chill and unwind at the end of the night. I first met Griffin when I came in and it was cool hitting it off with him talking about the UFC, training for athletics, and family history. It was nice hearing more history about the neighborhood that I grew up in as well. So I really appreciated his kindness. Then there is Camille. I love talking about my former college with her. I was a sociology major and she knows a good amount in terms of the subject. She's always working hard as well. She was kind enough to put espn on for me when I wanted to watch some high lights. Kailee is super awesome and chill as well. It was fun talking super hero's and talking about different places such as flagstaff. What a badass! As for the safety of Covid, everything was clean and the staff had masks. They made it easy and welcoming. Every time I have come too the rest of the people I met have all been chill. Super bummed how downhill RA in Ahwatukee has gone downhill. My kids and i were seated next to bird poop all over a window. How appetizing. The tableware was not very clean as well as the floor. I wanted to turn around and leave but it is one of my kids favorite restaurants. Service was slow a d the restaurant was not very busy. Took 10-15 minutes to bring side of soy and Sriracha.
