This place... is one of those "must" spots in the area. Me and my fam fell in love with this spot when Chad was running it from his van on the strand, and the quality and taste have not changed in any way! I also love the açaí bowls. Not sure what they do that's different but man, what a difference from other spots! The pb one has been my go to and I love it! Every tea I've had is so good... you cannot go wrong here. It has such a clean taste and aftertaste. The tea itself is amazing and never too over steeped, nor does it have that bitter aftertaste that's masked with sugar. The tea is in such a pure and clean form! Service is always friendly and down to earth. The actual store itself has such a great, cozy but hip vibe. Just... go. And make it a spot where you always stop by to just take a moment to enjoy and be present. No regrets will be had and you'll just become a regular like everyone else! Also, Chad is super chill and awesome. Same guy that was running the van. Same as the tea: hasn't changed just because he runs a store now. Go enjoy his nice company too! This spot is so rad I can't believe it took me so long to find out about it! The South Bay is packed with Starbucks and other super corporate coffee shops and I'd rather support something this out of the box and cool any day. We tried their avocado toast which we loved and I had a peach tea which was so delicious! My daughter had the hibiscus tea and loved it. We brought some friends who are in the music business and they really enjoyed the ambiance. After we walked along the esplanade and it was a wonderful morning! I can't wait to go back! read more

I like this place. It's a unique place. The theme of the cafe is around Racer bikes. After trying it for the first time, I went a few more times in the same week. I like the signature drinks, those really make this place special. The Rasta signature tea is a sweet concoction of tropical flavors, and is perfect to sip on a cold evening. It has no caffeine, which is a bonus! The earl grey tea is just ok. It felt like a standard tea, which didn't really have anything special going for it. Customer service is friendly, but depending on what time you go, some staff are friendlier than others. They sell merch and other tchotchkes. Nice place to check out if you're in the area and are looking for a hot drink by the beach. Parking is ok. You can find street parking during the day but trickier at night when everyone's car is parked on the street. I parked on the esplanade a few times since I can't get street parking. You have to pay the meters but it wasn't that expensive. read more

This place is such a fantastic addition to the riviera village. Absolutely scrumptious tea drinks, a cool vibe, and a perfect location just steps from the beach. While I have only taken my drinks to go, I could totally see this as a nice option for an evening hangout when you don't want to go to a bar. It's got a great ambience so this would be an awesome first date option! I really love how they take their tea seriously. You can taste the high quality of the tea, but they don't oversteep either. A lot of tea places don't care too much about the tea flavor because they focus too much on the sweet flavors they add to it, but Racer prioritizes the TEA! No powder based drinks! Beware if you're used to Starbucks's matcha latte, you'll be blown away once you try Racer's real tea-based latte drinks :) I also appreciate that every drink is made to order! Acai bowls were amazing! But the service was horrible. My friend and I called in because there was plastic in our bowls. They did tell us that they were going to contact their manager, but while on mute, they were laughing and one girl goes "What the f*ck?" Got it all on camera. A couple days after we went in bc we had store credit. My friend and I went in saying that we were there for the acai bowls and the girl at the register immediately goes "I know who you are" with an attitude. Late night Thai tea van... so happy I could cry! For anyone that knows me, knows I carry a cup of hot tea or a non alcoholic drink EVERY time I go for a walk at night. Since, 2020 took a big you know what on tea/coffee shop night hours & had them close early my small anemic butt can't get a hot drink to save my life. Found this tasty gem walking in my new hood by the Venice sign & now I know where I'll be every night getting my beach tea on! Service: Chad, the owner was super nice & cool to chat with explaining how his Thai tea is unlike any other, using the finest healthier ingredients only! From cold to hot, every drink I have tried here has been absolutely incredible. I started with The Rocker and have slowly been making my way through every drink on the menu! The Punk is the best Thai tea I've ever had, and you won't experience an fruity or fragrant tea flavor like you'll find in the Rasta in any other spot. My friend and I stopped by to try their tea latte flight, and we got to try 4 different tea lattes made with oat milk and sweetened with brown sugar or agave syrup: a special peach one that wasn't on the menu, The Punk (traditional Thai iced tea w/agave), Twist the Throttle (Black Thai w/brown sugar), and The Rasta (Hibiscus w/agave).
