This restaurant is easy to miss if you're driving along Martin Luther King Jr. Way because it's located below street level, and you can't really see it from the road. Most places that advertise BBQ usually have roasted pork, ducks, and other meats displayed in the front window, but this restaurant doesn't, making it less noticeable. Don't let that fool you--this place is very popular. I discovered it by stopping in, and later found out that both Anthony Bourdain and Mike Chen have visited. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is outstanding. My favorite dish is the giant crispy catfish served with vermicelli and a delicious dipping sauce. The grilled conch is also excellent and definitely worth ordering. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food with great service, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Rainier Restaurant might be one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle. Their portion sizes, flavor, and price all really come together to make a really great meal. Its one of the few Seattle restaurants I would come back to. The restaurant staff are all Vietnamese. Theyre all friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself is pretty old but well maintained. Theres plenty of parking as its in its own dedicated lot.

Been on my bucket list for a while and so glad I had the chance to come here! We had a party of 7 and got seated right away at a big table. Parking is plentiful. Service was friendly and food came out at decent times. We started with the Sapporo beer tower. Definitely got us tipsy and came out fast. Clams were excellent. Fried rice was pretty solid. Fish sauce wings were great - crispy, hot, flavorful. But my favorite was the bo luc lac (shaking beef). The meat was sooo tender, juicy, and delicious. We of course had to order the iconic cat fish. They only had a 6.5 pound one left for the day, the our server let us know ahead of time. It was definitely a show stopper. Loved being able to make our own spring rolls. I'd definitely come again!

Pro tip - call ahead to reserve your catfish. When we showed up it was on the table and ready for us to dig in! The catfish was so tender and flavorful. They give you all the fixings to make your own spring rolls. And some yummy sauces to dip into. We also tried the beef bites and it was super flavorful as well. We ended the meal with complimentary mango and regular tofu desserts. Great service here and amazing food! Would definitely visit again.

Overall, this place was really good! I chose it because I was looking for something to eat on my way to the park, and it popped up just as I was starving. From the outside, it doesn't look like much and isn't especially inviting, but the food was actually very good. I ordered the pho with raw steak and added an extra side of meat. My server seemed a little surprised by the extra order, but honestly, most pho places I've been to are heavy on the noodles and light on the meat -- and I like my pho with plenty of meat! She was very sweet about it, though. I'd definitely come back and eat here again.

We entered from the back, and took several minutes to figure out the restaurant was on the first floor down the stairs. The floor is dirty and sticky. Service is decent. We ordered: +Steamed Clam in Lemongrass Sauce $22 - clam is big and fresh, lemongrass seasoning is refreshing and emphasized the freshness of the clam. +Plate of Nations spacialty for $35: pho of choice, pork chop plate and shrimp spring roll. Pork chop is surprisingly the crowd favorite, both my kids loved it. The combo pho broth is decent, lots of noodle and toppings. I especially liked the tendon and tendon balls

Been here many times and recently went to try the whole fried catfish. It was pricey but enjoyable. We were impressed with how crispy the exterior was while still being nice and moist inside. We had an 8.5lb catfish and it was just barely enough for 7 adults. We polished it all off. It didn't seem like it started out as an 8.5lber but maybe it shrank quite a bit when frying. I'm not sure we'd do the whole fish again as the price seems a bit high considering the cooked size. We had several other dishes too, the ong choy salad, stir fried green beans with chicken, salt and pepper squid, mongolian beef and honey walnut prawns. We managed to polish off just about all of it too.

One of the best authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle with huge portions! It's kinda in the middle of nowhere but everyone knows about this place so it's constantly busy. The food is homey with lots of fresh herbs and bright flavors. The best dish here is the whole fried catfish. The smallest catfish they have usually serves 3, so you need to come with at least that many people for them to let you order it. It also takes 30 minutes to make so if you call in advance, they'll have it ready when you arrive. The skin is super crispy and the meat is extremely tender and juicy. It's served with a garden of herbs and fresh vegetables as well as rice paper so you can make your own wraps. It's a super fun dish to share with the table and it's delicious. Another great dish here is the banh xeo. It's like a savory crepe stuff with a bunch of bean sprouts, pork belly, and shrimp. The banh xeo here is bigger than any other banh xeo I've ever seen, and the first time I came here, they had a happy hour special of banh xeo for $12 which was a crazy steal.

This place had the BEST tasting authentic Vietnamese food I've ever had! We reserved for a party of 14, including kids and a person in a wheelchair and they mentioned that the wheelchair access is in the back of the building which made it easy to find. The service was amazing and our waitress checked out on us frequently - definitely one of the best service of any Asian restaurant! We ordered a lot of their specialties and the food came quickly and was delicious. When placing the reservation, the front desk person told me she will call me back later to let me know what fish they have that day since cat fish is their speciality, I would definitely recommend this place hands down! They also have plenty of free parking in the back lot!

Delicious hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant in the Othello neighborhood. I ordered the Com Tam Suon Heo (pork chop broken rice plate $18) and the Banh Xeo (crepe filled with bean sprouts, pork belly, and paired with herbs $16). Both were delicious and the food was more than plenty for two people. Everything tasted super fresh. They have a big parking lot which is a plus. I'll be coming back.

Love the on choy beef salad and the baby clams stir fried with lemon grass, onions, mints, and peanuts served with crispy sesame rice paper are my favorites! The menu is very big and can be overwhelming, but at least they will have something for whatever you are craving. I leave feeling full every time. The restaurant is pretty big and although they might be short staffed sometimes, the service is always great, even taking the time to box up your leftovers for you.

Food came out quick (ordered ahead), but the things we ordered at the table took a bit (egg rolls, escargot, congee) everything was super fresh, crispy and flavorful. Service is good and prompt! Congee was super flavorful and so, so good. Chicken salad was moist and the cabbage was seasoned well (before dumping the sauce).

Always a good time here. The service is always nice. They have great lunch deals until 3 pm. Has its own parking lot so there's never an issue.

Since my last review the restaurant has closed and reopened, and expanded their menu, to now include more dumplings and varieties of noodles. They also now have a very handy duo of ordering kiosks, which you order at prior to sitting down. I found their kiosks easy to use, which isn't always a given. This being my first visit back in a while, I had to get the spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles. However I had to try some dumplings, so we shared the lamb dumplings, while my dinner buddy had the spicy cumin lamb rice noodle soup (the same kind of noodles you'd get at a ten second yunnan noodle type of place). They also now have a complimentary side dish bar that has seaweed salad, peanuts, and kimci, as well as some condiment type things like scallions and minced garlic. I helped myself to some seaweed salad to nibble on while waiting for our food, and it was good although food comes out quickly enough that you don't necessarily have to rely on it unless you're really chomping at the bit. The spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles are just as good as I remember. The biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy, and the rest of the dish has a lovely flavor aside from just spice. They're generous with lamb and cabbage which add a lot of textural variety to the plate. The lamb dumplings were the sleeper hit of the meal, filled with juicy, tender hunks of lamb surrounded by toothsome clearly hand-rolled wrappers. Absolutely do not skip the lamb dumplings. My dinner buddy really enjoyed her rice noodle soup with spicy cumin lamb, which I think would be a great option on a cold day. Everything is pretty much self serve here, so don't expect full service -- although they did stop by to refill our water once. The food here is so good, though, and prices are so reasonable, that I truly do not care that the experience is pretty bare bones otherwise.

After about five minutes we decided to do the Q code and when I opened it and signed in, there was already an order placed so I ended up getting out of the booth walking up to the counter to ask about the ordering. She said she didn't clear the previous customer order and needed to delete the order that was on there so I can start one for ourselves. We got the ordering figured out they started bringing out the food. They brought the appetizers then the fried rice. We were hungry so we started eating the fried rice it was 1/2 gone when the entrees come out. They bring the items out as they are finished making them one or two at a time. Overall I give them a 4.5 because the ordering process felt a little impersonable and confusing. We didn't know what to do. I will note when we sat there waiting someone did come to take an order at a different table so I'm not sure if they just pick and choose who they want to personally ask. Idk
