I was referred here by one of my coworkers. This was my first oil change here and they guys are…read moreinformative and they look like they all have fun coming to work and happy employees are important to me. I never know whats true or not. They bring me oil colors so I can see the difference between my dirty colors and the new vibrant colors I should have. So of course I want my car to run great so im saying yes to every new filter and yes to every new fluid but Im not a mechanic so im trusting them like I've trusted my last oil change place. There is a good energy here and I hope they are doing everything they say they are doing because this is my only vehicle and Im a single mom with 2 teenagers. Between the 3 of us we are constantly going to and from everywhere. So far im happy with the service but I still have 3 guys under my hood. The real test will be how well we do until our next inspection. Based off my experience so far I will be back =). FYI: I was a committed customer to Valvoline Express off of Dyer and Main in Santa Ana but they did something I didnt like during my last oil change. So the last time I was there left a great review but before I drove off the guy brings me a list of all the things they did to my car and the only thing I recognized was Replaced windshield wiper. I knew for a fact they replaced them. They guy apologized and replaced them but now how do I know what else "they forgot" to do?

Update: Feb 17, 2026 - We realized today they also failed to fill the windshield wiper fluid. SMH…read more --- Been meaning to write this review for weeks, but the final straw came today when I found out yet again that the clowns working at this Oil Stop are either a.) incompetent or b.) did the equivalent of spitting in my food for an oil change establishment. 1. I sat through this oil change asking only for 1 thing upon pulling in- please check/fill the air in the tires because I have an alert on the dash that they're low. Literally was told I was all set and go to drive away, only to find the tires were still low and hadn't been touched. 2. The day after my oil change, I hear a grinding of sorts. Upon investigation, find that the plastic piece of the undercarriage was hanging down, not secured in place, and now torn up from the pavement from driving on it. (Mind you, they needed to remove this piece to change the oil.) My boyfriend takes it back, to be told it was "already like that" and when bf asks why they didn't mention it to me if it was already damaged, their response was "well, she's a woman". Unbelievable because shouldn't I be warned of a potential danger? 3. After they secured the damaged piece back, I am now getting an error on dash stating the front camera is blocked. Upon investigation, there is a clear finger print of OIL smeared over said camera. 4. I take the car for a minor repair to my normal place and they inform me the oil dipstick is BROKEN. Now, either these guys did this when they changed the oil, or again failed to tell me it was broken...in either case, they are trash. The funny thing is that the only thing they did to try and rectify anything was to give a 10% discount on my next oil change smh. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY'LL COST YOU MONEY AND ADD A HEADACHE ON TOP OF IT.

However less than a week later the tray under my car detached partially and was flapping harshly when I would go over 40mph. Luckily my boyfriend was willing to spend his entire lunch break going back to wait in line for them to reattach it properly. They did fix the issue no questions asked, however they didn't expedite his position in line or offer anything for the trouble. In the end I'm happy with the result, however I did want to let people know to be aware of this potential issue.

I'm sort of leaving this as a thank you for that service, knowing I might not be able to return for awhile. His service was also provided during a tough time in my life. He always charged me a fair price which is why I respect him a lot. I've never had a BS service recommended by him. Everything is "hey, look at this" or "this is what is wrong". I drove here and I must say the gentleman was super friendly, I told him exactly what I needed done, and he was on it. Took about 15-20 minutes or less. No hassle at all. He even gave me a free True Brand Fuel to try, demonstrated how to use it by saving 40 miles at most for my fuel tank. They definitely value new customers, and I have a reason to come back if I needed something done instantly. Most places will try to sell you things or tell you need to get this and that changed etc. He did check my car out and said everything was fine.

There's two bozos that work here, Armando & Victor- I guess they're in management, not sure how they got there.. I call them dumb and dumber. They are rude and extremely disrespectful. If you're a woman, they will demean you even if you know more than them. Regardless, my husband took my car in months ago for an oil change, as they always do, they did a tire rotation sales pitch. Long story short- they have no idea how to do a tire rotation. I was hearing scraping noises yada yada, took the car back. Armando made multiple different excuses as to why it was happening, mainly because I hadn't gotten a tire rotation in a while and the other one was that "too many hands have been on the car since". Mind you, I took my car back about a week after the janky tire rotation. He didn't believe that they were responsible so he decided to check footage which low and behold he admitted they messed up. Long story short they were haggling on getting my car fixed at a different mechanic that I wanted to go to. They wanted me to go to their referral. What idiot would take a referral from a business that can't do a simple tire rotation. Regardless, lots of back and forth, Victor continuously haggled providing a refund/covering the additional cost of the extra repairs I had to get as if it was coming directly from his pockets. They essentially screwed on my lug nut incorrectly and they couldn't fix it themselves. A simple tire rotation and they aren't even able to complete it properly. I would avoid coming here at all costs, I've seen other reviews with some horror stories too. Take your car to a reputable place that employ people with integrity. Never got my refund or money back on this but thought I'd warn others.

Because of that, I came back for multiple oil changes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely different. I was charged a high price for what should have been a simple oil change and cabin/air filter replacement, and I ended up waiting about two hours for the work to be completed. After talking it through with someone more familiar with car maintenance, it became clear that I was likely overcharged for a job that should have been quicker and more reasonably priced. What made the experience worse was the interaction before my appointment. When I asked for clarification about being told I may need "air," EU laughed at me for asking. I'm neurodivergent and sometimes take things more literally, so I was just trying to confirm whether I was being charged for something that is often free. Instead of explaining, I felt mocked for asking a simple question. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable or confident returning here. I'm sharing this as a caution for other customers--especially women and neurodivergent people--who may not be as familiar with car maintenance and rely on mechanics to be honest, respectful, and transparent.

When Brent heard the description his first thought was probably a computer problem, not a transmission issue. He was right! He not only diagnosed it correctly, he worked with Toyota to get an OEM computer. Toyota allocates these sparingly (to keep 3rd parties from price-gouging) and he actually had to write them to obtain one. He installed it and did a full transmission service - all at a great price I got the car back and its as good as new! My local mechanic told me my motor is toast and needs the motor rebuilt which will cost minimum $4500! So I decided to call Mesa Wesr again and talked to the owner Norm and told him about the issue with my motor. He was very friendly and scheduled a service for my bus so they can diagnose the problem. After being in his garage a few days he called me and told me all I needed was for the heads to be retorqued, valves adjusted and carburetor cleaned and my motor is good to go. My total cost was less than $500 and bus never drove so smoothly and powerful! I can't say enough about this honest shop and their entire crew who are all very friendly and very knowledgeable. I don't write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience this time. Thanks Norm and your entire staff! The wait and drive to your shop is well worth it. Your shop will be the only mechanic for my bus from now on! Mahalo!

I have a 2010 Subaru Forrester XT...long story short, once it hit 60,000 miles it had a lot of major and unfortunate issues in a very short period of time. Having been given the runaround and the "you are no longer under warranty" crappy treatment from three Subaru dealers, I was fed up and turned to RallySport for some guidance and help. I called Paul from RallySport (who had been highly recommended by a customer of mine) on a couple of different occasions to get his feedback on some work the dealer was suggesting. I was really impressed with his willingness to listen and advise over the phone. He was honest and informative where the dealer was not! When I finally took my car into RallySport after months of back and forth with the dealership and having spent a ton of money, I was frustrated to say the least...I spoke with Raul who listened to my entire story of the past few months and all the work I had done. He was supportive, helpful, always returned my calls when he said he would, and even called around to do some research for me. Sean was my mechanic and he was AMAZING...He took the time over the phone and in person to explain exactly what he recommended, how much it would cost, and how it would affect my car and pocket book long term. (I don't know anything about cars, so I asked a lot of questions...often.) He set me at ease and I trusted his decisions which is more than I can say for any dealer! Paul, Raul, and Sean make a great team. My car is running better than new and I saved SO much compared to dealer costs. I don't do yelp review, but this is one. I am here to share the experience I had at Rallysport Engineering on my 2015 Forester XT Touring 30,000 major service. First of all, Raul's fast response to my request with estimated price and time. It told me that they are serious and care about my business. Second, their Master Tech, Sean, who identified a leak at CVT pan. He showed me on what he found, explained the possible cause, and guided me on how to deal with dealer to have it fixed under warranty. Sure enough, dealer (Subaru Orange Coast) confirmed and fixed the issue under warranty and no question asked. I am one of those Subaru owners who simply enjoy the car as it is without any modification. Rallysport Engineering is the shop that also appreciate the Subaru as it is. If you are an inexperienced/untrained driver with extra cash for modifications, they will simply and gladly guide you to other "sporty shop" to spend your money on those modifications you think are "must" and "necessary" for daily commute. If you enjoy your Subaru as it is, you will find these lively yet old school(figuratively) mechanics and technicians have the ample skills for all necessary maintenance and repair services to extend the lifespan of your vehicle at a fair price. Their integrity is hard to be found in some other dealers and shops. Simple and no bullshit, they are running a legit and fair business. One last thing, please call or make an appointment first, it is a mutual respect. They only accept certain number of cars per day, so that they can focus on your car and enjoy their weekends like most people do. read more

RSE (Rally Sport Engineering) has become home-base for my car servicing needs; whether it's regular maintenance, or working with them to get that little extra out of the performance ;). I have been visiting them for over a year now and have never been disappointed. They make sure to tell me what's what and never talk me into things I don't need. A couple times I've left some loose ends on DIY's and they have always been helpful to respectfully fix things up for me at an affordable price. Recently, I had an issue with a pro-tune and some components I received from a local tune shop (/NOT related to RSE/), but I worked closely with RSE and we were able to figure out it was due to a specific component they put in, replaced it, and now my car drives smoother than ever before, ready to hit the races. There's so much conflicting information on the web so it's a relief to be able to consult a trustworthy source that either already knows it, or can figure it out and get it done right. If you have a Subaru of any kind, need maintenance or are looking to get it ready for the track, RSE is the place for you. Sean and Raul, you guys rock. read more

Although I usually do most work on my car myself, I've had my car into Paul a couple times. Once for a new timing belt and another to have the fluids changed (tranny, diff, coolant). In both instances I found the work to be flawless, his rates very reasonable, and a nice guy to deal with to boot. I drive a WRX and found Rallysport Engineering (RSE) via several reviews on nasioc.com. You can read Paul's impressive bio on the RSE website. This is not some "tuner" or performance shop being run by a 25 year old kid or some general mechanic that attempts to handle every car under the sun. Update: sold my WRX to buy a Legacy and I'm still going to Paul, and I'm still just as happy. I've never seen any employees in there, so I think Paul does everything himself. A nice bonus since there's no middle-man manager/supervisor between the customers and the guy performing the work. He also advertises service for Hyundai and Mitsubishi, but I've never owned either of those makes. read more

My wife owns a 2010 Subaru Outback and had the overheat light come on during a trip. After looking over the car and smelling fuel and seeing oil sludge in the coolant overflow I figured she had a headgasket leak. I called Paul since he's really close to my job (had great ratings on the net), he told me to bring the car in for a look. He ran some test and confirmed that it was a headgasket leak. He called over to Subaru and confirmed that the work needed done was still under warranty. He only charged me $45 and was super honest. Once the warranty is up on the Subie it will only go to Rallysport Engineering. Stealership service departments are a joke, especially Timmons Subaru in Long Beach. Paul was also a great help with me calling him about questions when the dealership tried to give me the runaround. read more

As someone who is EXTREMELY particular about who I let work on my car, I have nothing but POSITIVE things to say about Rally Sport Engineering... My car is a special case (or so I like to think) in that it is a Japanese-market 1996 STi wagon... steering wheel on the wrong side and all. How lucky I was to break down 3 miles from them, after driving the hell out of this car from Miami to LA. I felt very taken care of... my car, after the much-needed TLC that it got here at Rally Sport Engineering, was a champion in getting me back to my home up in the Rocky Mountains, and I had my foot deep in it the whole way. This is by far, one of the best auto shop I have ever been because before meeting Raul and Sean I had a difficult time with any mechanic but this guys are the difference in this kind of business. This guys have only worked twice in my Subaru by changing the timing belt and a complete rebuild of my transmission. I have to say that the work on that transmission was pretty sweet. It took a while but at the end of the day was well worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable and the environment of they're work place it's pretty decent I would definitely recommend anyone to visit this shop and let Raul and Sean take a look at the problems your car has because they will literally obliterated that problem for you. read more

I must say, there isn't a lot this shop cannot fix. Bring in your Subaru, mitsubishi or hyundai and you have great knowledge built by major league experience in the rally car racing circuit (pro, I think). Sharp mechanic without hustling anybody, even an out of towner like I was. I would even take my horse there (if I had one) and he could probably tune it up as well! I highly recommend Paul for any Sub/Mitsu/Hyundai repairs you have. He is super friendly and highly professional. So much that I will go far out of my way to have the peace of mind you get from a highly competent shop and a job done correctly. read more

It is a no-brainier to bring your Subie to this shop. Been to 4 different local shops to have a check engine light taken care of. They all had it for a few days, threw a bunch of parts at it and nothing worked. Very frustrating. A co-worker heard my story and referred me to Rallysport Engineering, I tell you it is no joke of a place. Dropped it off in the morning and Raul and Sean called me an hour and a half later. I bought a new Subaru Forester and was a little disappointed in the handling. Visited my dealer and another independent to discuss the problem and they never got back to me. RSE was a different thing entirely. They sounded like they knew what they were talking about. We agreed on a heavier sway bar which took a while to get in. They called me and kept me up to date. It was installed yesterday and I took the Forester to the mountains. What a transformation. Love the way the car drives now. Loved the friendly, helpful service from Paul, Sean and Raul. read more

Rally sport engineering is not only a Subaru repair shop but in all car repair shop. I always took my car to dealership but after having the worst experience of ever, I decided to take my car to rally sport engineering based on a friend referral and all the awesome yelp reviews I read. We found Raul and Rallysport about 2 years ago when my grandmothers car broke down close to their shop. He went above and beyond to make sure they took care of her and her old car is running great and hasn't had an issue since. I don't know much about cars but the friendliness and the honesty from Raul and his team is second to none. Bought my 2005 Forester from a family member and was disappointed with all the oil leaks it developed a year latter. Raul explained abut the leaks and described how they fix the head gaskets in particular. Decided to go with the fix and I couldn't be happier, the engine runs smoother, quieter, stronger. I had problems with another shop who were giving me a hard time about fixing issues that occurred directly after I had work done to my engine. Disregard the posting from the person in UK. There is another car shop of the same name in UK. I recently had a repair done at this shop on my Subaru Legacy GT. Definitely recommended for any Subaru owner. Paul is honest and straightforward, he will do what it takes to get your car back on the road again. No more, no less (unless you ask). Truly a honest Subaru Repair Shop around So Cal that I can trust and recommend. They only recommended replacing parts that needed replacing, they.told me what's still good and what will need attention in due time. These are awesome people who took care of my car within 24 hours. Raul and his brother are very nice to know not only as professionals but as a person. Hands down best Subie Shop in Southern California. IRVINE SUBARU DEALERSHIP had my damn car for 6 weeks for fuel issue. (Lucky I had a loaner). Long story short.. Raul happily took me in, I was fed up with Irvine. Towed in on a Monday and by Wednesday Sean diagnosed the issue and by Monday following week, car is ready to go. If a dealership can't figure it out, these guys can. Just leave the dealership now, and go here. read more

It's one thing to be told what's wrong, but actually seeing the proof is top-notch service. Unfortunately, my van had a blown head gasket and wasn't worth saving. However, I was so impressed with their honesty and how they handled everything that we ended up bringing in my daughter's 4Runner. They did a full inspection on the 4Runner, replaced the entire driveshaft, installed brand-new shocks and springs, and took care of several other fixes. It now drives like a brand-new car, and we absolutely love it! Our 4Runner is pushing 298k miles, and thanks to Daron and his team at Herb's Garage, we're hoping to keep it running for another 100k. We told you we would set a time up for you to look at the car again at our convenience. Well it hasn't been convenient yet. As far as my husband telling you I was happy with the car when you called, (3 days after we brought it in), that is NOT true. He said thus far he was happy with it since it worked on the drive home. I had not driven my car yet so how would he know if I was happy or not?? I don't drive my car that often and the first time that I did is when I brought it back to your shop. You can justify in your mind that raising your voice to me was ok because you were frustrated but that's not OK! Period! I did not feel comfortable with your raised tone of voice or by your behavior, that is why I went inside your shop to ask my friend to come outside with me. Now my MAX button still does NOT work and the air still is NOT blowing as cold or as hard as it should be or used to for that matter, especially since we purchased a new ac compressor from you. The MAX button was never broken before bringing it in to your shop. We brought the car in for you to fix the issue with the ac not blowing cold air and you told us we needed a new compressor. It was our understanding that you knew what you were doing and that the problem would be fixed. The problem was NOT FIXED!! In fact, I was left with a new problem. As far as my car being 19 years old it only has 140k miles on it and has been well kept I can assure you. If you truly wanted to work this out you would have at least waited 24 hours after calling us to return your call. Instead this is how you chose to work things out with us. So unprofessional!!!
