Came by on Sunday around 11:40 ish and the restaurant was steadily becoming busy with the weekend lunch rush. We waited maybe 10-15 mins for a table to open up and we ate our meal within another 15 mins! Ramen is always a pretty quick meal to consume and their service is also attentive and helpful! It was our first time so we got the tonkatsu ramen and it was filling and the broth was delicious, but I wish it had a bit more flavor! The chasu was tender and they gave generous pieces. I found Ramen Yukinoya a couple of years ago and have been coming here every time I crave shoyu ramen. Their shoyu is not too salty and has a nice umami flavor. We also ordered the pork rice bowl which was ok, nothing too special. The chicken karaage was really good as starter/appetizer. read more

Really small ramen shop, probably less than 10 tables here and some high chair seats. Service here was really nice and quick! The ramen just tastes okay here. I normally like to order the Tonkotsu ramen whenever I visit a ramen shop, but it didn't taste that nice and hearty to me. I tend to like the broth more rich but it just tasted more like soup. The noodles that they use here are also not your average Japanese ramen shop kind of noodles, but they use these yellow noodles instead. I have a feeling that this place caters more to the Chinese "taste" than a authentic Japanese ramen shop based on how the ramen tasted like and what toppings they added on it. Although there is limited seating (indoors only), we were seated immediately. There are a lot of smaller tables so I wouldn't recommend coming here with any more than a party of 4. Shortly after being seated, the servers brought us out water quickly and were quick to take our orders. Not to mention they refilled my water about 7 times within an hour!! (Your boy was thirsty) I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen with a side of fried rice and gyoza to share. The ramen tasted amazing as always, with perfect flavor and spice!! The pork belly was solid, with good flavor but not the most fatty/tender. The noodles were quality, and they give you a lot in each bowl. The side fried rice was also very flavorful, and the gyoza was high quality and cooked perfectly (you can tell it was made in house)!! The overall price was also very affordable for ramen (about $15), especially for the amount of food and quality of food you're getting. Overall, I'd come here again and again! The service was great, the ambience is inviting, and most importantly the food is delicious and priced perfectly. It made it feel more Japanese authentic with its small size. This place basically has only ramen to choose from, but I have to say that the ramen I had today was excellent. I had a regular sized bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen with a side of California Rolls. I was already full off of the Tonkotsu Ramen but still managed to stuff my face with the rolls. The food in general was really good. A good indicator would be that the ramen had the traditional Japanese garnishes such as a soft boiled egg. My only concern would be whether you could get a seat in a timely manner. I think if you just sit around the bar area, one would be seated immediately, but if you sit at a table, you may have to wait. read more

This is easily my favorite ramen place! The food is absolutely fantastic here and the amount of food that you get for the price that is paid is superb. Money definitely well spent. Whenever I come, I either get the Tan Tan Men or the Shio Ramen. The Tan Tan Men broth is stunning. It has a perfect blend of creaminess and spice that go extremely well with the noodles. The vegetables that it comes with - bean sprouts and bok choy also give it a nice texture to the dish. I love also how you get the option of choosing ground pork or chicken as the protein for this dish. This is an absolute 10/10 dish that everyone needs to try once when visiting. The Shio Ramen is also a great item to order here if anyone is looking for something that is on the lighter side. The broth is very clean and the addition of chashu, bamboo, green onion, fish cake, egg and bean sprouts go really well with the broth. This is my go-to if and when I am craving something less heavy. After having Tan Tan Ramen in Oahu last year, I've been on a mission to find it in LA. And I haven't found better than Ramen Yukinoya yet! Go with the ground pork and add extra char shiu to really go all in. The spiciness is at the perfect level, and warm friendly service to boot. Broth was too light for me, I think I would have enjoyed tonkotsu broth better. Chashu meat was very lean, I prefer my meats to be more fatty. It was decently priced $10 for 4-5 slices of meat, egg, bamboo, scallions and seaweed! It had all of my favorite things in it. I finished every bite Service was excellent for off hours. Plaza had plenty of parking. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this place. No 5 stars because it would have to hold a special place in my heart and no 4 stars because there was no wow factor for me. Pretty Great ramen place. The best? No. The worst? Far from it. I've been here quite a few times, so let me tell you what to expect. Is the big guy helping you? If so, expect timely, but very uncharismatic service. Guy seems to hate being there, but he's good at his job. Rest of the front of house staff are pretty great as well. The spicy miso ramen is my go to, here. It's flavorful, not bland, but not too salty, either. It comes with either egg noodles or soba noodles (I like the egg noodles), three slices of decent pork shoulder chashu, ajitama, bean sprouts, and naruto. Ended up getting there around 6:45pm or so and the order wasn't even ready yet. Said it's coming soon. So I paid and asked how long the Chicken Karaage would be and he told me about 7 mins. So I ended up ordering since the order wasn't ready yet. It's about 6:55pm or so and I went to follow up. They told me 2 more mins? I don't know why but my patience was ok even though it had been about 45 mins or so waiting. Then 7:15pm comes and finally the order was ready an hour later after we called. I think that the woman who came to pick up her order got ours instead and I hope she liked spicy ramen. There was no explanation as to why our order took so long. Went home and we'll probably not order to go next time. I don't know if it's because we waited or not but it wasn't satisfying. If we do end up going back next time, it will be for dine-in. I don't remember our first experience like this but then again it had probably been about 2 years or so since we ate here. Hopefully the experience will be better. read more

Best go to ramen place in Arcadia... When my parents and i are craving ramen we always go here and the staff is always so friendly making you feel welcomed when you enter. We been coming here for a while now. Even if there's a wait we dont usually wait too long! I always get the Shio regular bowl and its the perfect amount for me to finish but i also add corn to it which adds the perfect flavor plus they also have condiments that they give you in a little tray (oil and vinegar, spicy seasoning, white pepper) as well as the chopsticks, soup spoons and napkins). I love the consistency of the noodles and i like the way they do the broth for this specific bowl to where theres still enough flavor even tho its just a clear broth but it isnt salty which is definitely one of the things i look for when eating ramen soup. My father orders the tonkatsu large bowl to split with my mother and they give my mother a small bowl no extra charge which is nice. We also order the chicken karagge to share .. they give enough pieces for the 3 of us to share. If youre looking for a really good ramen place i do recommend to come here! read more

04/02/2018 I first came here in April. Wanted to try another ramen place. There was a short wait but got seated after a few minutes. I wasn't sure how spicy the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen would be so I went with the Tonkotsu White ramen in the large bowl for $10.95. The orders come out somewhat quickly but enough time to examine what is on the table. Black garlic is the first thing that caught my eye along with soy sauce, vinegar, white pepper, that Japanese red pepper, spicy oil, and utensils. I had to ask for the garlic press. I have been back a few times and my most recent visit was last Monday. No waiting at this final hour of service. I ordered the Tonkotsu White in the large bowl again. I asked for the garlic press again. I pressed quite a few black garlic into my bowl. It has a good flavor with that garlic sting. I do like the pepper oil that looks to be blackened as well. It had great smokey flavor that I had to keep adding it to each bite. I was tempted to request for extra noodles but that won't leave me with much room for dessert. read more

I came to Ramen Yukinoya looking to try and find a new regular spot for ramen. After trying out their ramen, I think I'm going to continue my search. I ordered the large tonkotsu ramen and was not really impressed with the dish as a whole. The noodles are pretty average and aren't that impressive. The bamboo shoots are better than some places I've been to but still have a weird taste like they were put in a dishwasher. The flavored egg wasn't bad and had a nice texture to the yolk, but it didn't have enough umami from the marinade. The one saving grace of the dish was the chashu. It was actually really nice, unlike other places it was well cut and had a pretty nice flavor to it. Lastly, the broth wasn't that flavorful and is probably why I thought the ramen fell flat. I ended up just adding a bunch of chili oil to it in order to get some flavor out of it since the broth by itself was very bland. I'm not going to mention the naruto, ginger, or seaweed because they are pretty much the same everywhere. Besides the food, the staff was nice and service was pretty quick. I came in with a party of 10 and they were able to accommodate us which was very impressive for such a small restaurant. The inside is also clean and has some nice murals on the wall depicting different aspects of Japanese culture. Overall, I don't think I would regularly go to Ramen Yukinoya and I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are a big ramen fan. read more

My favorite local ramen place in the area. Very nice packaging during pandemic and great quality as well. The noodles are springy, the chashu and egg is well flavored and the soup base is exceptional. Condiments are mostly available at the pick up desk but you need to ask for the vinegar (a little acidity goes a long way for heavy broth) I've tried almost every ramen on the menu except for the cold ramen and loved all of them. I love how their ramen by default comes with scallions, pickled ginger, bamboo shoot, spouts and chashu so I wouldn't need to order and add-on unless I really wanted something extra. I do recommend to reheat the soup first when you get home ......the first time I pour the soup in the ramen right when I got back and it made everything lukewarm... had to heat it up in the microwave together which made the noodles soggy. read more

Menu has a small selection and is very simple and easy to read and order from. Overall, I would just say that this ramen place was okay. My boyfriend and I ordered Spicy Miso Ramen, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Side of Kimchi, and a Pork Rice Bowl on the side. The soup and egg is delicious but the ramen noodles taste like the instant noodle packets and is kind of spongy tasting. The kimchi was prepackaged kimchi from the asian market, wish they could've made their own but it was still delicious. The pork was great but the rice was hard and dry. I have come here two times to try their Pork Ramen, very good. I got for take-out during the crazy winter rainy storms in Los Angeles and the broth hit the spot. I like the texture of their noodles, and also liked how tender the pork was. Its not too salty, or too oily either, and their pork proportions is adequate. This is still one of our favorite ramen spots in the area. We've been coming here ever since they opened. We normally get the Miso, Tonkatsu and Shoyu ramen. We absolutely love all of our usual orders, especially the Tonkatsu ramen which I think is the best out of all of them. That broth is so rich and flavorful without being too heavy or greasy. This time we tried the Shio ramen and that too was really good. What I like is that their ramen also includes bean sprouts, an egg, seaweed and bamboo. Some places will charge you extra for that stuff. We also got the Karaage appetizer. This was probably one of the best Karaage I've tried. The pieces of chicken were pretty big, tender and juicy. The batter was light, but still crunchy. Overall I think this place is a pretty good deal as well. I've eat at Asian establishments before, and my experience has been that the staff have been rude and inattentive, but that wasn't the case with this place. First time at Ramen Yukinoya because it's conveniently located in the plaza adjacent to the LA Fitness. My bf and I decided to grab a quick dinner before working out. Arriving at around 6pm, there was already a line outside with multiple parties in front of us. Luckily, since we were a party of 2, seats were available after 10 minutes. I ordered the regular shoyu ramen with corn, while my bf ordered the large tonkatsu ramen. The shoyu ramen consisted of seaweed, egg, bamboo shoots, and three good-sized chashu slices. I liked the broth because it's lighter than pork bone broth and still had lots of flavor. Noodles were chewy with several strands sticking together. I've actually never experienced that eating ramen before. The bamboo shoots tasted a little weird in my opinion, so it was my least favorite of all the garnishes. As for the other bowl, the tonkatsu ramen came with pretty much all the same ingredients with the exception of pickled ginger. Overall, Ramen Yukinoya was pretty satisfying and cost-friendly. I've been to Yukinoya many times, more than 30, and IMO it's one of the best ramen places in LA, esp. for the price. I always order the Shoyu and it's the best Shoyu in town (Be sure to ask for crushed garlic, if u like garlic.) It's not just some soy sauce liquid like some others, the soup is so good. It comes w half-egg, bamboo, bean sprouts, 3 slices of pork, green onions, seaweed, and 1 tiny slice of fish cake (lol); but all this for $12.50. Most other ramen places will charge you for all these toppings, your total will be $18+. Trust me, I've been to many, many ramen places, including but not limited to Daikokuya, Shin-Sen-Gumi, Tatsu, Tsujita, Tatsunoya, Hakata Ikkousha, Kopan, HiroNori, Rakkan, Benten, Kai, + some lesser known places. I never tried their Tonkotsu, but I will soon. Edit 11/17/22: So I finally tried their Tonkotsu ramen. It turns out it's the same soup they use for Shoyu. So technically I've been eating Tonkotsu and not Shoyu, but it's still very good. I've also noticed my piss turning very yellow (neon) after eating here; something "Andy L." alluded to in his review on 8/13/2022. I have reduced my 5 stars review to 3 stars because of this and probably will come much less often cuz it's just weird. Are they using some kind of dye in their noodles?
