I came here after visiting the Arboretum nearby with family for my birthday. I wish they had the marinated garlic press like in their old sister branch in Rowland Heights. I chose to get the large tonkotsu ($12). It came with chashu, sliced green onions, bamboo, bean sprouts, fishcake, a sliced egg, seaweed, and benishoga (pickled ginger) in a pork bone broth. The pork was not as tender as other places I've tried. The broth was rich and creamy, not too salty. They had indoor seating and it was a bit small, a short wait to get a table. This small Japanese spot offers a limited menu including great ramen, rice bowls and a few appetizers. But they do everything great! Ramen is the specialty here and they offer different types of broth including Tonkostu (pork bone broth), Miso (fermented soybeans), Shio (salt), Shoyu (soy sauce), Okinawa style, Tan Tan Men (peanut & sesame - super popular), stir fried Yakisoba, and cold Hiyashi. Ramen bowls come with the listed items but they have lots of add on sides available to customize. We used to come by the CVS all the time and noticed this ramen spot always had a wait and you know what that means! After some Yelping, we decided we had to come try it! That was years ago and we've been here a few times and always had a great meal. Spicy Tonkostu - Chashu, egg, fish cake, bamboo, green onion, & bean sprouts - the pork bone soup is my go to and this is always yummy! Very flavorful but not too overpowering. Ramen Yukinoya has always been a hidden ramen shop located in Arcadia. The waiters and staff are friendly and of course the shop is fairly small which tends to get packed when its nearing dinner time and the weather is cold. You cannot go wrong with getting a bowl of delicious ramen without leaving SGV. Spicy Miso Ramen: 8.5/10 I have tried a ton of ramen places around California and i can say the spicy miso ramen here is a solid above average spot. The broth is rich and full of flavor. The spicy miso does not overpower the broth negatively but goes together very well. The noodles are good but not the best. The noodles do not soak the broth well when eating which is a drawback for me. Californian Roll: 7.5/10 For some reason i love eating Californian rolls whenever i go to a Japanese restaurant. Seeing the option to add it to the side has really enticed me to try it. Overall its a solid roll. The ingredients are fresh and the balance of the ingredients is on point. Its not Yama sushi good but overall a solid pick if you are craving it like me! Overall a good ramen spot in Arcadia. I know that there have been a lot of new ramen shops that have opened up around the area, but nothing beats years of services this restaurant has provided. I have been here both for lunch and dinner - and the servers have never paid less attention to me due to high volume times. Environment - a nice quaint ramen shop with about 25-30 spots. Sorry, not ramen bar seating but I love that the tables are wood so it adds to the "atmosphere". Service - everyone is super nice and helpful. Due to the layout of the restaurant, I feel like the servers are always assessing the room to see which customers need help. Therefore, because of this attention, the turnover from entrance to exit is fairly quick. Food - anything you order here is delicious. If I had to choose between spicy miso or tonkotsu then I would definitly choose spicy tonkotsu - seems to have a little bit more flavor. Based on the reviews, I upgraded to the large and we got the Tonkotsu and the Miso ramen. My parents and I shared the two large orders at home and still had leftovers. As the other Yelpers pointed out, the proportion between the chashu and the noodles became off once you added the extra noodles. However the flavor was still nice. The servers were super friendly and helpful. My mother liked the decor when we waited for our to-go order. It was overall a very pleasant experience. However after reading all the top recommendations, I was a bit underwhelmed by the flavor and the broths. They were a solid B. But the ramen was good enough and the ambiance was fun enough for me to return when I crave ramen. After all, it's only 7 minutes away! read more

So, our original plan was to go to the galley and we did, but we got off and the restaurant was packed! We realized it was getting cold and figured it was a great idea to eat some ramen. I love going towards that area because there are so many restaurants to choose from. We called to see how long the wait would be and they said 20 min. It took a little longer, but it was worth it. The inside is kind of small and the decor on the walls were more on the modern side. The tables are half booth and chairs. They even have a small bar area for up to three people I believe. The menu is pretty simple and straight forward. You can order your ramen, or noodles and add sides to them. To eat, we ordered a spicy miso and the tan tan. The tan tan was pretty spicy, but the broth was soooo good. They don't have kids sizes available so we just ordered a side of broth and a large side of noodles and it was great portion. On the side, we ordered California rolls. It's 4 for $3 I believe. The service was great. The two young male servers continued checking on us. I would definitely come back. read more

A very overdue review, not sure if it was still the same restaurant? But many years ago we would come here and smash our own garlic with a tool into the ramen. Years have gone by, pandemic etc etc...the menu has definitely changed. I wanted to try the Okinawa soba to reminisce about my trip but alas it was not the same. During the pandemic, Ramen Yukinoya has continued serving delicious ramen with great social distancing measures in place (everyone was wearing a mask correctly) to ensure safety. Food: I tried the miso ramen (both spicy and non-spicy), the spicy tonkatsu ramen, and the pork bowls. Out of the 4, my favorites were definitely the non-spicy miso ramen (the broth seemed a lot lighter than the spicier one) and surprisingly the pork bowl (sweet, savory, perfect). I've never had anything that I disliked, and several of my Japanese friends tell me that the food is pretty authentic. Price: There are different prices for different sizes (definitely recommend getting the large), which is good for times when you aren't super hungry or you want a small late night snack. All of the ramen are around $12 and you can add a pork bowl for an extra $2.75 (normally $5.50). Ambiance: The restaurant is relatively small and frequently had a wait pre-Covid. However indoor dining is still suspended as of now so I am not sure how they will reopen and how the spacing will be. Tldr: Authentic food, nice service, fair prices. Definitely check it out if you're in the area for affordable and delicious ramen :). read more

This is a classic ramen spot in Arcadia that's been around. They use to serve garlic that you could smash yourself but I didn't see it on the table, though you probably could still ask. The ramen itself was solid. I got the spicy to tonkotsu and the broth was creamy and warm though not too spicy. The large and regular is literally a one dollar difference so just get a large! The add on combo is a nice bonus as well. I got the inari since the California roll were out because I came at 8, a little before closing. The inari was slightly sweet and tasted good. My family and I had a lovely lunch at Ramen Yukinoya in Arcadia this past weekend. It's one of the best ramen places that I know... trying to find more best of them LOL... if you know of any more, please share with me. Thanks! Funny, I called this place before our arrival to inquire about the wait time... this was between 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM. The lady I spoke with said there were no customers in the restaurant, but when we got here, 5 tables were already occupied. Occupancy can change by the second LOL. We were initially seated at the table closest to the door, but decided to sit at the bar area because we didn't want to be interrupted by new arrivals LOL. We ordered 4 ramen bowls and 2 appetizers. Both spicy tonkotsu and spicy miso ramens had excellent spice level and flavors were on point, soup was very savory... wished I got another egg. You can choose thin or thick noodles. I took the rest of my soup to-go... just toss in some egg noodles, wontons, and veggies and you got yourself another meal LOL. Both regular miso ramens came with thin noodles and there was no spice at all which worked out for my daughters... soup flavors were very good. Chicken karaage was crispy and tender... it came with some kind of homemade thousand island-like sauce... just delish. I didn't care much for the gyoza though... the skin needs more crispiness and the filling needs more flavor. Also, it comes with 6 pieces... 8 would have been better for the price of $8.00. Staff and service were pleasant and friendly. However, I thought the wait on the foods took a bit longer than I would have liked. They did come back to check on us and see if we needed more water a couple times. Don't know why they use steel cups... I can't stand using steel utensils, cups, etc as they make my teeth tingle... don't like that feeling. Prices are reasonable... large ramen bowls is about $1 more than regular size. Go for the LARGE! Atmosphere is a tad dark due to the dark color artwork on the wall, but hey, we're here to eat... as long as we can see what we're eating, then we're good LOL! Parking is plenty as they are located in the Aldi shopping center. If you haven't tried this ramen joint, do give them a try. You won't regret it. Interior: It is a very small store with a ramen bar to sit and and a couple of individual tables along the wall and by the windows. Exterior: There is no outside seating. Service: Lately, I have been ordering ramen to-go because I work from home. It is usually done within 15 mins. I make my order, drive over right away, and pick it up without a hassle. Food: The ramen is pretty good. They give plenty of toppings and the meat is usually tender. I usually get either the tonkatsu broth or miso broth. Reheated the broth, poured it over the noodles, and it was so good! Noodle texture was on point and didn't have the issue of being too sticky/clumpy.
