After a very long absence, Diane and I returned here, and enjoyed a great Cantonese dinner. Pork & Shrimp Dumplings were juicy and excellent. Dumpling Noodle Soup with handmade Chinese Fettuccine was a nice treat. Vegetable Spring Rolls were light and golden. Har Gow featuring shimp meat was great. But a Pan Fried Pork Soup Dumpling was spicy and not that tasty. Kung Pao Chicken featured sliced white meat chicken with celery, Green Onion, Red Bell Pepper, and peanuts. Diane's Amber Shrimp with extra Mayonnaise Sauce was very good with great Candied Walnuts. Steamed Jasmine White Rice unified all elements of the meal. And fragrant Baby Chrysanthemum Hot Tea helped to wash everything down. Fine thumping music was a good backdrop to meals served in a colorful and elegant setting. Our server Hugo provided excellent attentive service. The downside of dining here is that no reservations are accepted, so prospective diners take their chances in parking and walking up to the hostess stand hoping to be seated fairly quickly. For that reason we deliberately arrived at the restaurant before 6:00 p.m., and were luckily seated right away.
Not the most authentic Chinese food experience, but good enough if you're in the area and craving a comforting rice meal. The chive fried dumplings were the highlight for me, crispy on the outside with a flavorful filling. The fried rice was good too. On the other hand, the steamed spareribs lacked in flavor and would not recommend it.
I think my rating would be somewhere between a three and a four-star. Sometimes you just need your Asian food fix and honestly there was a good variety here. They even have a lot of vegetarian choices with vegetarian dumplings and pot stickers. The dumplings were delicious but I did not try the pot stickers. They also have a vegan chicken dish which was just amazing for me. I think what was missing was the flavours. The sauces were nothing crazy. But if you need your Asian food This is a not bad spot to check out.! The service was really good and fast, and the restaurant was clean and spacious and not too busy around lunchtime on Sunday!
Many years later, and I'm still enjoying the same high quality food here this is definitely a must if you want something kind of fast, casual and chill when staying at encore Wynn, I haven't been disappointed yet. It's usually not that busy but they do have their high peak moments. No reservations are required. I usually just walk right in ambience is usually pretty simple. Food is fantastic don't skip it !
My arrival at the Wynn was planned for the evening seafood buffet, but I changed course after realizing they did not have the two most advertised items (lobster claws and filet mignon). Is this false advertising? You decide. So I walked out, got my refund (I did not touch or eat anything) and wandered around the casino floor. It is then that I discovered Red 8 (yes, 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture). The place was hopping, and for a solo diner, it took about 15 minutes to get a table. Once again, I wished to order something different. Wynn is big in Macao and in the menu section they had dedicated specials to that effect. The Classic Dan Dan Noodles with pork was a magnet. Was it different? I would say yes. Presentation wise, the optics when the dish arrived (I could not see any noodles), was unique. There was an abundance that was buried in the presentation. My server was high class, taking care of me even though they were short staffed. Enjoyed their chili oil (I asked for it), and hardly touched their chili paste. The soy sauce was bold with depth, different. As for the entree itself, how was it? I would say, fantastic.
This is located in the Wynn hotel. It is a lovely restaurant with limited seating. No reservations but you can get in the wait list. I arrived at noon and was able to get a table by 12:20, they text you when your table is ready. Service: device is great and attentive Food: I ordered 3 different kind of dim sum. The shumai was very good. The Shanghai soup noodles were flavorless. It was way too much dough to filling. Then I ordered steamed shrimp dumplings. Nice chunks of shrimp.
Party of 5 and we got the following: - Beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce $40.88: I would highly recommend this! - Beef chow mein $23.88 - Beef Wok Fried Hor Fun, Soy Sauce $15.88 - Pan Fried Turnip Cake $8.88 - Pork and Preserved Egg Congee $15.88 - Thai Iced Tea $8
I've been coming to this restaurant every time I visit Las Vegas, and it's always been my top recommendation for Chinese food. My family also like this place. Their dim sum has an exceptional depth of flavor that's hard to find elsewhere. Today, our server was once again very attentive and pleasant. The fancy vibe here? Absolutely yes. However, this time I did feel that the restaurant was a bit short-staffed. I guess that is the reason. And..When we were first seated, the table had a noticeable strong towel smell. I politely mentioned it, and although the other person wiped it again, the odor still lingered strongly. I didn't want to be a difficult customer, so I apologized and mentioned it again gently -- but her and cleaning women's reaction felt a bit uncomfortable, almost as if I was being too picky. If she had sat at that table herself, she would've understood what I meant. Anyway, we asked her twice to three times to change the seat. We were then moved to a small corner table for two, and after that, I decided to just let it go and enjoy the meal -- and as always, the food was excellent. The Peking duck we tried for the first time was absolutely delicious. The service wasn't as great as our last visit, but despite that, I'll definitely come back again. The food here is still top 1 for me.
First, some advice, don't forget to make dinner reservations in Vegas. We didn't and spent quite a bit of time getting hangry while looking for a decent place to walk-in. We found it at Red 8. Had a short wait, 20-25 minutes. The place is what you'd expect from a Vegas Asian restaurant, gaudy red and ornate decor. We were sat at a back corner table and promptly given water. Our server, an older Asian gentleman showed up to take our cocktail order. When I placed my food order and asked about the chicken feet, he laughed and asked if I'd had before. I had not so I got them. My wife got spring rolls. We split a Pad Thai. The food was all quite good. The feet were gelatinous, slippery, saucy, and tasty. But I don't need to try them again. Our server brought us hot hand towels to clean up at the end of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and experience.
Stop by here for lunch and I wasn't disappointed at all.. I ordered the vegetable fried rice and Sweet & Sour chicken... Service was really good and friendly, food was good, and large portion for lunch. The ambiance was nice, wasn't crowded, got seated asap..
Red 8 was a rollercoaster. The dim sum tasting? Delicious. The soft shell crab with salt & jalapeño pepper? Absolute star of a dish and our favorite. It was crispy and wonderfully garlicky. Then came the Dan Dan noodles... and wow, talk about a buzzkill. Bland, flavorless, and just sad. My husband powered through after basically performing a chili oil makeover, but I couldn't do it. I almost sent it back. My husband ate it probably just to avoid the awkwardness. Just skip this dish. Overall, I'd come back to try other dishes.
Located inside is the Wynn, it's a great restaurant to hit that later night craving. I highly recommend reservations. The staff wear black attire and are easily distinguishable. I ordered the Malaysian shrimp and chicken and it did not disappoint. And I chased it with one of their vodka based cocktails. I was happy.
Have been to Red 8 twice and both times had a very good experiences! Beautifully decorated restaurant inside Wynn resort with very polite & friendly staff members and the food is pretty good I'd say! So if you're either staying at Wynn/Encore or visiting, definitely give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

Red 8 serves authentic Chinese recipes in modern Asian style. The menu is in Chinese, with helpful English translations. You want boba? They have boba! Also black and green tea, honey and lemon, hot soy milk, and so forth. Menu selections lean heavily on central, southern, and Taiwanese cuisine with only a few nods to the north. We ordered Sichuan Scallops With Chinese Eggplant (鱼香茄子带子煲), Dan Dan Noodles With Pork (擔擔麵 , 担担面), and Steamed Shanghainese Pork Dumplings (上海小籠包 , 上海小笼包), commonly known as xiao long bao. It was all quite good, especially the scallops with Chinese eggplant, which were perfectly seasoned. The Chinese eggplant was buttery-tender, infinitely better on the palate than heavier and tougher American eggplants. Red 8 sits at the heart of the Wynn on the Las Vegas strip, one of the poshest casino properties in Las Vegas, so it's astonishing that everything mentioned above that we ordered plus iced tea and soy milk cost only $105 including tax and tip. A very nice place to enjoy authentic Chinese food. We originally had resv at WingLei but they were running late so that would've only given us one hour before they close to eat a much awaited duck dinner and we didn't want to be rushed so we walked out down the hallway to Red8 and they had tables available at 845pm. Service was good and pretty quick at that hour we had the shrimp vermicelli hotpot which was very nicely cooked-- the shrimp was sweet and big. We also had the bbq platter which had delicious roast pork and duck and the bbq pork (cha shu) was tasty with a hint of wine in the marinade. And the scallop and egg white fried rice was beautiful! Very quick service, and staff were friendly. The food was also just as good. Good oxtail soup, Beijing cucumbers and noodles with Tobiko. They also had these steaming hot towels as complimentary before eating. Everything had great flavor and ceased my expectation. read more

I've been coming to Las Vegas and every month, for 5 years. It's so good!! The braised beef noodle soup with fettuccine noodles is soo good, I love their Hainan chicken and rice, service is very good, they know me and my mom very well, and it's very clean and it's my go-to every time in Las Vegas. A very cozy vibe inside too. It is first come, first serve, so it's best to ask for a table before anything, sometimes the wait can be very long, 20mins, or up to 2 hours. So be prepared at dinner time for a wait, sometimes people won't keep their reservation, so times can change. Overall, my favorite in the Wynn!! read more

Food quality = 4 stars Food service = 2 stars Waited for the restaurant to open on Lunar Year's Day and was the third table seated. Our party of five waited for 30 minutes before one single plate of food arrived. Other tables who ordered around the same time or after us already had multiple plates. We waited a total of 40 minutes for the remainder of our dim sum and one of our dishes never came. Another disappointment was the tasteless tea... where they charged $6/person for a pot of hot water with a poor quality tea bag. Food-wise, the turnip cake was tasty - fresh turnip taste with bits of Chinese sausage. Steamed bbq pork buns had good flavor, as they added a hint of rice wine to the filling for flavor and fragrance. The fresh chili sauce complemented the dim sum well, particularly the dumplings and dry noodles. The wok-fried lettuce with preserved tofu was really well done with the addition of red chili peppers for dimension and a touch of heat. I can see why it's noted as a signature dish of the restaurant. Tomato and egg over noodles was flavorful and the beef soy sauce noodle was well prepared... Decently tender beef with wok's breath in the dish (wok hei). Overall, the food was solidly good, but was heavily overshadowed by the poor pacing of the food. read more
Great food that I can rely on every time! The wait can vary but service is a bit below standard. To be fair, there's a lot more authentic dim sum in Las Vegas, but when you're in a pinch, this place doesn't disappoint in flavor! The salt and pepper calamari is great eaten with the crispy garlic and the noodles are the perfect texture and flavor. Although congee can be quite plain, it's more of a comfort food but Red 8 does it well with both flavor and comfort. The setting of the restaurant is quite nice and cozy with pillows along the booths. I would say this is more on the expensive end of asian food if you are familiar with authentic asian food but it is still fair for being inside of quite a sophisticated hotel. read more
What an unforgettable bonding with high school BFFs' of class 1971!!! In Vegas a face mask is required to enter the hotels or restaurants, vaccinated or not!!! We met at Wynn Hotel by the carousel and of course we had to have dinner and this place had good reviews . Since it was 8 pm at the peak of dinner time we had to wait for an hour to be seated for party of 8. As we were finally seated our server was ready to ask what we wanted to drink ... The restaurant's cozy dining room's ambience is splashed with the vivid red colors and the whimsical ceiling design exhibited the number 8. We were all famished and shared a full course meal. We feasted after saying grace before meal. Red 8, an Asian fusion cuisine Resto, has a diversified menu specialties that included Cantonese noodle dishes , dim sum, Hong Kong style barbecue, variety of seafood selections, as well as flavorful vegetable dishes. We ordered the Hong Kong-Style Crispy Noodles with Seafood . This dish had crispy noodles topped with seafood and veggies as well as smothered with a flavorful gravy. I won't pass the opportunity to not try their soft shell crabs which are my ultimate favorite!!! These yummy crabs were battered and fried then served with rock salt and jalapeño peppers. Everyone at the table really enjoyed these crispy crustaceans even those who tried them for the first time. We had the Amber Walnut Shrimp which I think was the most expensive entree cause we were served 5 colossal shrimps and there were a party of 8 ... I had one shrimp which I shared a small piece of it to my hubby and the rest is history lol cause I'm not sure who had shared one or none !!! I was kind of disappointed with the blandness and non-crispness of the Crispy Roasted Pork Belly ... I have No Comment ... The fried rice was sautéed Filipino style with salted fish, egg, and shredded chicken . Sautéed Chinese greens for a balanced diet . We had another noodle dish the Pad Thai with shrimps. The noodle tasted an authentically Thai dish. Well we can't leave without having desserts so we all shared each of a crispy banana roll and coconut ice cream ... we also had a small serving piece of a round cheesecake topped with orange flavored chocolate strip and 3 mandarin orange slices. I can say that menu items are overall reasonable priced except for the Walnut Shrimp that seemed like $5 for each shrimp. If you're at the Wynn Hotel and would like to try an Asian Fusion Cuisine, I would highly recommend RED 8 for that kind of an unforgettable dine in experience. read more
We've eaten here on multiple trips now, and it has been stellar each time! Each dish is fresh, flavorful, and filled with quality ingredients. The Mapo Tofu was one of the tastiest I've had. The tofu was super silky and the sauce had a rich depth of flavor. While it was spicy, it didn't overwhelm the flavors, and the slight hint of Szechuan pepper was perfectly hinting without being numbing. And the Thai tea is amazing! read more

There's nothing special about this place but also nothing bad, just your mediocre Chinese restaurant. They do not take reservations so if you are staying at the Wynn and plan to come here for lunch or dinner, I would recommend putting your name and phone number down and go gamble at the casino or wait in your room since the wait will probably be over an hour based off my lunch experience. HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP(5/5): I've never had walnut shrimp like this before, it comes with 5 fried shrimps and it was absolutely delicious with the mayo it comes with! My family and I all enjoyed this, I really like how it was fried so it was definitely a unique twist on this dish. CRAB RANGOON(5/5): The star of the show! This one came with many pieces and I enjoyed it a lot with the sweet and sour sauce it came with. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I would highly recommend this one to share with others! XIAO LONG BAO(3/5): Nothing special about this, it wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. It only came with 3 pieces which I found to be a small portion for what it is as most times when I order this at other places, it comes with at least 5. PAN CHIVE FRIED DUMPLINGS(4/5): Again it only came with 3 but the size of the dumpling was decent enough. It's super flavorful and juicy, my cousin really enjoyed this one. We ordered some other dishes like fried rice and spicy chili wontons but those didn't leave an impression on me and I would pass on those next time. I tried their Lychee Jasmine Green Tea and Traditional Milk Tea and thought they were good but lacked a bit of flavor so I would maybe ask for less ice next time as it definitely tasted too diluted. Although this place is pretty good, it wouldn't be my first place to dine in at when I'm staying at Wynn as there are so many other options to dine at. read more
We can't believe that the Wynn doesn't have a better low-key Chinese restaurant (to compliment Wing Lei). We went to Red8 - ordered two apps, one drink, one diet coke, one side of rice, and one entree - $80 (with tip). The quality of it all was what you'd expect from a mall food court, not one of the best hotels in Vegas. It's time for the Wynn to rethink their casual, noodle bar options inside the resort. Absolutely enjoyed my dinner at Red 8 along with the great customer service from our server Joe. He recommended the best things on the menu that we shouldn't miss out on. Still the best oxtail soup in the world that will cure the worst hangovers Vegas delivers or dehydration from 120 degree heat. Service was great but the wait seemed extremely long without our special reservation delivered by a friend. Beautiful decoration. My son liked all the colors in the sample dumplings. Located in the high end Wynn Resort, Red 8 is a solid Chinese restaurant located on this Strip. The Chinese decor is high end that runs consistent with the Wynn Resort. Our server was on point and attentive to the table's needs throughout our recent business lunch. Waters and beverages were always fresh. They shielded our drinks when pouring to avoid splashes to the table or our food. It's the little things. The kitchen was very quick with getting our dishes to the table. Steamed BBQ Pork Buns: A dims sum staple, and they didn't disappoint here Steamed Shiu Mai: Steamed perfectly and yum. Cantonese Pot Stickers: Pot Sticker fans, these are a safe order here. Salt & Pepper Calamari: This was was a treat. Crispy outside, soft and chewy outside but flavorful af. Salty tasty and I'd order again. Hainanese Chicken Rice: This dish a little misleading. You get a serving of Hainanese Chicken with a small bowl of rice on the side. Is it yum? Yes. But don't expect this to come out like your typical 'chicken fried rice' dish and you're all good. Chilean Sea Bass: Flavorful and a solid sea bass dish. Mongolian Beef: A traditional beef dish and they loaded up some peppers with this if you wanted to spice it up. It doesn't come served spicy, but the option is there. Expect the prices to be on the higher end because of the location. Red 8 can definitely service as a date night for dinner because of the ambiance. I seem to find myself here for business lunches which also works. Overall, Red 8 has been good to me through the visits and I'm sure I'll be back soon. Enjoy! read more

Great food, service, and ambiance! First time dining at the Wynn and didn't know which restaurant to try. The wait was about 45 mins and it was definitely worth the wait! Nice sized portions... we had leftovers and would definitely come back. read more

Best Chinese restaurant on the strip. My family and I have been going there for years now whenever we want to visit the Wynn and go to walk around. The prices are reasonable as are the portion sizes. I take all my guests here from out of town when they visit. Best things on the menu are the kung pao chicken and honey walnut shrimp. Would 10/10 recommend this place to any locals or tourists. read more

The location is great. We sat on the edge open to the Wynn and enjoyed people watching :) The decor is pretty and the food was pretty good! A little pricey, but I mean, we're in Vegas...at the Wynn, so to be expected. Service was ok, not exceptional. But, the hostess did say a 45 min wait and then we were seated in 5 min, so that worked out. Overall, I would definitely recommend Red 8. And I'll be back, this was my second time there, so I already knew it was a cool spot. read more
