This place was recommended to me by a friend when I told her I had a hankering for good indo chinese food but was unable to find a place which caters to my tastes. We went in a group of 4 and ordered the following- chicken corn soup-5 stars- It was better than the soup I had in countless other restaurants. Most versions of this soup tend to get a raw chicken smell when the soup gets warm towards the end, but this one was perfect. veggie spring rolls-3 stars- The sauce it was served with was good but the rolls itself were not exceptional. chicken drums-2 stars-The drums were oily and not well seasoned chilli prawns-5 stars-a tad bit oily but worth the indulgence chilli chicken-2 stars- way too much vinegar, it was very sour hakka noodles-4 stars-very very oily but the flavors were spot on egg fried rice-3 stars-not oily but under seasoned. You can only have this as a side dish. Inchin's bamboo is definitely much better than this place, if you love Indo-chinese. Also, if you think you can bring a cake for the birthday-person, BE-AWARE that they charge 15 usd for just eating your own birthday cake. They claim it as a charge to give plates/candles for the cake, it doesn't matter even if you refuse plates/candles. In addition, the charge shows up as "Refill" on the bill! I did not enjoy the food at this restaurant. It's not Indian food and neither is it Chinese food. It's a failed attempt for Chinese food with a South East Asian flare. So I really like the food and the freshness of it. However I'm downgrading then from 5 to 4 stars. I've been going here for over 6 years now and each time the food is great. I especially like their appetizers which are stars on their menu. I have some suggestions - I would love to see the flickering lights in the restaurant fixed as I've been there 3-4 times and see lights / bulbs missing or flickering. Secondly the manager dresses like he's a thug - untucked shirts are 3 sizes too big and cargo pants and often black sneakers. This isn't acceptable unless you're running Wendy's and even then you'd have a uniform. I used to visit earlier and he would be way better dressed and service also was way better but it seems like he has let go and his team also cares less which is why they dress more sloppily as well. Lastly, the servers just lack experience and they take orders and go stand in a corner and chat with each other. Recently we took our out-of-town guest to this restaurant. Despite being rather busy for a week night, the staff and the manager personally took time to greet us cordially. Upon learning of our preference for vegetarian food, the manager brought out some outstanding personally curated dishes. Each item was a sheer delight - so tasty, so yummy!! The desert options were equally mouth-watering, and equally yummylicious!! All in all, a great place to satisfy your gastric urge and impress your guests. I don't quite remember what I didn't like, so I'll just cover what I did like :) Must-get: Crispy chili baby corn, on the appetizer menu. This dish is amazing! Who knew baby corn can be so spectacular. When they say crispy, it really is crispy! The spice is just right... makes you want more with every bite and before you know it, your mouth is on fire. But you just can't stop eating it. I personally enjoyed the vegetable coins in manchurian sauce. I'm a big fan of veggie/gobi manchurian at indo-chinese restaurants. The garlicky oniony flavors are mmm so good. This dish isn't for everyone though, because it's, well, goopy. But if you can get past the texture of the sauce, it's quite delicious! Our regular order includes - their crispy baby corn appetizer, Manchurian coins/ cauliflower for the main dish with schezwan rice or garlic noodles. I have also tried the exotic vegetables in your choice of sauce. All are good. We have also ordered their infamous dish, "Devils Chicken", once - which is so spicy that you are made sign a waiver before you can have it. We expected it to be really hot, but let me take this opportunity to warn you, nothing can prepare you for this level of hotness. My brother, who loves and has a very high tolerance for hot and spicy food, took just two bites before he was sweating and his eyes were watering. I was done in less than half a teaspoon :|. It took a few glasses of water before he was feeling normal again. If you do try it, which I do not recommend, wait after you have the first bite. And again the Vegetarian Schezwan Fried rice was good as well (never found this in the bay area, of those places I've tried).. Noodles were too oily though, but then that can be missed.. Dry Chilli Tofu for starters/appetizers- As the name suggests I was awaiting bite sized fried tofu with a few greens. But to my surprise the tofu pieces were succulent n moist. Soft to bite and rightly spiced. The greens served alongside were flavorful too and Portioned sized good for 2. The only complaint if I may have is that the spice level was meant to be up as suggested in the menu card but certainly was not the case. 2. Chilli Garlic Hakka Noodles- Noodles were thin n rightly cooked,al Dante. Spiced great though not "spicy" as thought for the noodles were great to taste.
