    Cheddar bay biscuits

I want to give this place such a good review but I can't today. Came in for lunch. Every other time we have dined here, service has always been great. Unfortunately today wasn't the case. We were greeted by the bartender, Ali. She was also our server today. The manger seated us and got us sat. We shared a sweet moment about Hello Kitty. I thought it was great of her to take her time to chat with us. Ali got our biscuits out to us and took our drink orders. We knew what we wanted since we checked out the online menu. They started some fabulous daily specials! My husband and I both ordered the Monday special. The Monday special is lobster and shrimp scampi for 20 bucks! Helll ya! We started our meal with a ceaser salad and a cup of clam chowder. Both were great! The soup was hot and tasty! The salad was fresh and nicely dressed, topped with pieces of parm cheese. Our meals came out shortly. Talk about a great lunch! You get 14 pieces of shrimp scampi and a decent sized lobster tail. The shrimp was buttery and salty. The lobster was cooked perfectly! Add some butter and lemon to that bite and it was fantastic! 20 bucks for a lobster/shrimp lunch is great. The only crappy part of this dining experience was the service. I feel like Ali was just there to do her job, no interaction besides "what brings you in today". I noticed she had my husband's soup and salad in her hands. She decided to stop and converse with her co workers at the computers for a minute. I don't mind you kicking it with your co workers but don't be talking over my husband's food. I think it's gross to potentially have your spit on my husband's food. She checked up on us a couple times. Gave us our bill and didn't offer us a box until we were all cashed out. She had me cashed out before I was even asked if I wanted a box. Makes you feel like she was more concerned about the tip than making sure we were taken care of. She didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. I look forward coming to Red Lobster in the future since they have come out with these dope daily specials. Hopefully service in the future will be better than today's visit.

Tried the new seafood boil that Red Lobster put out and it was decently a 7/10. They have two types of butter -Cajun or Garlic butter. Both have their own taste. Seafood was fresh and absolutely delicious. If you want more of a flavor, definitely Cajun, although I think they could make it taste more umami. I like garlic so I got that one instead but I did request to have a side of the Cajun as a dipping sauce. Crab queso was amazing. Only feedback is possibly making the sauces more flavorful, but that's my personal preference. We had a great waitress, Alexis and the space was warm and decorated well.

    Monday Special

Got the Monday Special which was Lobster Shrimp and baked potato! Service was good! Food was great! I'm from Florida and most of the Red Lobsters have closed near where I lived! This was A treat! Noticed the decor in this restaurant was subdued compared to other Red Lobsters.

I'm giving them 4 stars ONLY Because our WAITRESS who works the bar she was AMAZING! Everything was delicious minus this baby crab cluster my husband got this should not have been served at all no taste absolutely gross. ALSO crappy to see watching a waiter with the long hair with a goatee do an the "asian bow" because he got 2 large tables that's happen to be the Asian decent to the Manager

Sometime Red Lobster just hits the spot. Enjoyed the lobster dip, trout and unlimited shrimp meals. And of course the famous cheddar biscuits! The lobster dip has become one of my favorites. Very flavorful with big chunks of lobster. The rainbow trout reminds me of my childhood as I can't get it where I live. Cooked just right. The unlimited shrimp was excellent. Love the shrimp scampi!

Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return.

The wine list is extensive, and the menu offers plenty of appealing options. We started with the oysters topped with raspberry mignonette, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The combination was fresh, unique, and incredibly well executed. For our entrees, we ordered the Mahi Mahi with lobster and the Orange Roughy. While my Mahi Mahi was slightly overcooked, the drawn butter from the lobster helped bring it back to life and added great flavor. I wasn't a fan of the pineapple accompaniment, which tasted canned rather than fresh, but the sauce served alongside the dish was excellent. The Orange Roughy was the standout entree and definitely the better choice between the two. It was flaky, buttery, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Overall, Coa Del Mar delivers a gorgeous setting, excellent cocktails, friendly service, and some truly memorable dishes. While not every element of the meal was perfect, the oysters and Orange Roughy alone would have me coming back.

So how does Mala House fare? Honestly, not bad. Of the spots I've tried in Boise so far, this is probably one of the more authentic options, at least for hot pot, and it's pretty good overall. They offer three broths: a tomato based broth, a Szechuan broth, and a chicken broth. All three were good, but the Szechuan was the best one. It had great depth of flavor and that classic numbing heat. If you enjoy mala, this one does the job. The hot pot ingredients are a bit limited, but they cover the basics. Things like lobster balls, beef balls, thinly sliced meats, quail eggs, and a variety of vegetables. You can also build your own dipping sauce, which is always nice. Their à la carte items didn't impress me as much though. I'll need to try more of the menu to be fair, but for now, I'd say stick with the hot pot if it's your first time. Service was great. Our server was friendly. It also wasn't very busy the times I've been, which made for a quiet and relaxed experience. It's not SGV level, but definitely one of the better options around here if you're craving hot pot.

With our team wanting an authentic meal experience, we headed over to Mala House. Full Disclosure: We are not Hot Pot folks, which could have been the the issue with our experience. The menu is extensive and there are a variety of meals to choose from but we decided on the following plates. Spicy Garlic Eggplant Stir Fry with Chicken Orange Chicken While the dishes may seem pedestrian, we were expecting elevated flavors and taste and for the exception of the Spicy Garlic Eggplant, the other two dishes were very underwhelming. We discovered that nothing comes with these dishes. They are plates of exactly what you order - The Spicy Garlic Eggplant did come with a small bowl of sticky white rice and while it was very good, the other two plates were very remeniscant of an American-Asian Buffet in San Diego in the 1990s. I had the pleasure and opportunity to visit China last year and stated in Shanghai, Dongwong, Fushun, Guangzhou, and other cities. The food was amazing and that's not even covering the amount of vegetarian and vegan options. There's still remaines a big gap in the Boise area. Also there were not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options available or presented when I asked our server, which was shocking. So many great vegetables with recipes that could have been incorporated into the menu. We may agree to disagree about the authenicity of Mala House, but our experience was just ok at best which means we won't be back.

Mush on the inside. The sauce lacked salt and needed more of a flavor punch. The curry snapper needed more curry taste but the dish was cooked very well. The duck confit was just okay in my opinion. Again, lacked salt again. The duck was fall of the bone tender but was placed on top of a miclx of mushy lentils and salad, not my jam. The ribeye was cooked well but in my opinion, a steak shouldn't be presented already cut. Would I go again? Yes. I'd take a date for a few cocktail and a nice meal. But did it wow me? Service wise. I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!
