I had such a wonderful experience at Red Ribbon thanks to the cashier named Melita who assisted me and my cousin during her birthday celebration! She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the whole visit feel extra special for us. Her kindness truly stood out when she surprised us with a free slice of ube cake for my cousin. it was such a thoughtful gesture and made her birthday even more memorable. We really appreciated how she went above and beyond with genuine warmth and great customer service. Because of her, we left not only satisfied with our purchase but also smiling and feeling celebrated. Thank you for the amazing service. we'll definitely be coming back!

    6 for $12 deal!!

Swung by Red Ribbon in West Covina on a last-minute mission for carb goodies before they locked the doors. The pastry gods were not fully on my side..... slim pickings..... but hallelujah, the 6 mamons for $12 deal still stood tall like a sweet, buttery beacon of hope!!! Score!! Location? Prime!!! Nestled next to a Seafood City (aka the mothership of Filipino groceries) w parking galore. No parallel parking acrobatics required!! Now... the service. Lemme see... if I had a dollar for every side-eye and deadpan "Can I help you," I'd have enough to buy another six mamons. I love me some ube, ensaymada, and mamon, but can we get a smile w that sponge cake? Filipino food = comfort. Filipino service? Sometimes feels like your tita caught you talking back and now you're grounded or got the slipper whack!! Red Ribbon, Jollibee, Chowking, Goldilocks... y'all are feeding our bellies, but please, feed our souls w a tiny sprinkle of customer service joy. Is that too much to ask? Maybe a "Hi po!" w a side of sincerity? Bottom line: Come for the pastries, stay for the passive-aggressive ambiance.

Happy birthday to me in a couple of days!

I was on my way back from my monster in laws ;) jk I meant my dearest mother in laws BDAY and I decided to grab a mango for my bday which is coming up in a few days as well... SONG of the DAY to play along to this YELP review: Cake by the Ocean by DNCE... MANGO CAKE: 4.5/5 This brought NOSTALGIA to me because this was the cake that my parents would buy me for my bday as a little girl. However, the location was different. They would get the cake from the LOS ANGELES location. This one was on the dryer and sweeter side than the one I remembered... It satisfied the craving though! ;) SERVICE: A ok PARKING:Plenty and busy! ROCK ON RED RIBBON BAKESHOP!!!!!

Mango cake was requested for my girl's bday. Called ahead and placed an order which was easy and convenient. Their website limits the characters and couldn't get the full Happy Birthday and name on the cake, which was a bummer but the call was quick and easy. Just needed a few hours notice. Love that they add a few candles just in case and had a cake knife when requested. We didn't use the candles, but is thoughtful. Only blip was the website and cake was a bit pricy for size, but delicious. I also tried a couple of empeñadas. Spicy chicken and beef. They were just ok. I guess I prefer the Argentinian ones more. Anyway, happy to have tried them.

Stepping into this Red Ribbon West Covina is always a treat! Their pastries are absolutely divine - every bite is pure happiness, from the empanada to the perfectly not too sweet treats such as butter mamon and ensaimada. But what truly sets them apart is the wonderful service. The staff always greets you with a warm smile and goes above and beyond to make your visit special. It's truly a delightful experience all around!"

I stopped by this location to pick up some items for an upcoming trip. My beautiful lady is a huge fan of ube and she wanted to try a few of these pastries. I ended up getting two ube mamons, two ube ensaimadas, and a moist chocolate slice. I was here around lunch time but there weren't too many people. The lady behind the counter was friendly and handled my check out quickly. I asked her a question regarding the amount of time the prepackaged patties will remain fresh, and she politely told me 5ish days. Hopefully, they stay fresh when they arrive to their final destination.

Winding down to for last bit of holiday shopping. Some mamons for stocking stuffers and empanadas (hand pies savory) to get me through the afternoon. I do love these empanadas just as much as Cuban empanadas. Filled with chicken and seasoning hits the spot. It's 12/23 and I walked right in during lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Lucky me. Always picking up a little something when I'm around the area. Large parking lot is a plus :)

My first ever red ribbon bakeshop visit from a while ago. Service was friendly and informative. Organized, clean space with tables for a large group hang out. We tried the mango roll cake it was so soft and spongy. Filling wasn't too sweet it had a nice balance of "just right" plenty of parking located in a shopping plaza with other eateries and grocery store. Great little hidden gem when you're wanting a treat.

    Stopped by on Saturday, 10/05/24. Purchased the following: - 1 Butter Mamon = $2.59 - 1 Mocha Mamon = $2.89 - 1 Cheesy Mamon = $2.89 - 1 Choco Mocha Crunch Slice Cake = $4.99 SUBTOTAL = $13.26 TAX = $0.00 TOTAL = $13.26 Pastries here and cakes are a bit pricey, at least compared to 85 Degrees.

The last time I had anything from Red Ribbon, I was in high school. Having breakfast there today brought back so many old memories. The baked goods smell the same, and the taste of everything is even better than I remembered. If you get a box of six empanadas, you get one free. So you get delicious Filipino comfort food and a lot of value in one sitting. Can't ask for more.

Review#1091~(SGV, CA)~ Thought i reviewed this bakery long ago? Weird. I would often stop by here for their super fluffy desserts from this Filipino bakery. I'm in this plaza right now at the Thai restaurant down a block. I bought their mamons and Brioches quite a bit from prior trips and also already tried their coffee.... Service: 5/5~always fast and friendly. Food: delish...5/5~love their desserts. Parking: 5/5~free and easy from plaza parking and always convenient. This is such a long overdue review. Please consult my attached pics for references to what i had bought. Very likely to return here for more desserts in the near future.

I like the presentation of all the pastries and desserts. The drinks are OK but nothing special from what I've tried. Granted I don't drink coffee or much tea so that throws out a lot. These are why it gets 2 stars. Now for the disappointing. While the pastries look great, they have that La Croix feel. The ones that say chocolate have the faintest aftertaste of once being near a cocoa bean. The texture of most of those are perfectly fine, with the rare exception of the partially cooked muffin I just had. Thus is the main gripe I have with this place, the pastries.

They do not have their own parking lot, but there is free street parking + other free parking lots around, so I had to walk a short distance there. When I came inside, I was greeted by two employees. The interior was clean and cute, but there's no seating, so definitely a grab-and-go spot. Although I mainly came for the Portuguese egg tarts, I also wanted to try their other offerings. I ended up ordering 3 Portuguese egg tarts ($0.99 each), 1 caramel croissant egg tart ($1.75), 1 cheese tart ($1.75), and 1 coconut tart (1.765) for my family and I to try. Everything was pretty affordable and looked so delicious! Out of everything we got, the Portuguese egg tart was the best. The egg custard was reminiscent of egg tarts you get at dim sum (which is a positive imo), and the crust was flaky! It was super yummy. Second best was coconut tart: the coconut filling was tasty with a nice tart crust. The cheese tart and caramel croissant tart were fine but nothing special. Surprisingly, I thought the caramel croissant tart wasn't as good as the Portuguese egg tarts. Overall though, super solid pastries especially given the price! Who doesn't love $0.99 egg tarts? I also picked up a few Portuguese egg tarts (unfortunately forgot to take photos before they disappeared), and they were fantastic as well. The flaky pastry and rich custard filling made them an easy favorite. It's the kind of item that's consistently good every time you visit.
