Super cool place when you first walk in. Big open restaurant/bar area and huge patio area. We just had the spinach and artichoke dip to munch on over a few glasses of wine which was actually very good. I am leaving this negative review because this was the worst service I have had in years. My entire reason in going out to eat is to be catered to, enjoy good food/drinks and for it to be a great experience that is stress free and I can enjoy myself. Our first glass of wine took about 30 minutes to be taken to us - needless to say that the restaurant was not crowded whatsoever. We could see our drinks sitting at the bar waiting for our server to deliver them to us while he was in the back chatting away. After munching on the chips and drinking wine slowly another 30 mins + goes by and our server is nowhere to be found or has come back to check on us once. We finally ask the host where our server has gone and she apologized to us and goes in the back to find him. He comes back 5 mins later and we order another drink. 20 minutes goes by and at this point we are pissed because we still have not got our drinks we ordered. To our surprise, our drinks are again sitting at the bar table to be delivered to us. The host again goes in the back to find our server who finally brings our drinks to us. I ask him to close out and he brings me the wrong bill! He doesn't come back for another 20 minutes so I have finally had enough and walk into the back to track him down and tell him he better figure it out immediately! Not bad for a restaurant at a ski/snowboard resort. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. A little pricey for drinks and appetizers but not bad overall. The grilled Caesar salad my friend ordered was burned but the guacamole was great as was the taquitos. $11 for what I consider a small margarita was a little much but given the environment I don't hold it against them. read more

Had dinner here with my wife and three teenage kids. It was way overpriced, poor and limited menu selection, but the food was pretty good and it was conveniently located. Food was good but seriously question paying the price again if we weren't celebrating. Service from our waitress in particular was so so but the staff that assisted her were fantastic so she might have been training on big groups still. Has a cute look to it and a great view of slopes and the lodges. But man, the price for the quality has me hung up on this place 31 bucks for a Tenderloin was a step above Texas Roadhouse but doesn't pair well with the yams and parsnips covering the whole thing. We we're staying on mountain and decided to give the Grill a try despite some mediocre reviews. Our server was excellent, and all five dinners were excellent. We had five main courses, chicken with mushroom sauce, Greek salad with salmon, pasta, and the soup trio with salad. For dessert, we had the brownie with ice cream and chocolate and carmel sauces. Really terrible service. Disaster. We got there at 4:45pm on Friday after the lifts closed, we ordered soup....oops, no soup (in the snow; at the bottom of a chair lift, really? no soup?). Mushroom burger...oops no mushrooms but they neglected to tell us there were not any mushrooms for 35 minutes and did I mention that we had a 19 month old with us. After no soup, no mushroom they brought some terrible crab fritters that were mushy...fritters, by default, are crispy. The servers were all standing around doing nothing and when I dropped my fork and ask for a new one I never even got it... after over an hour waiting for crappy food. Forget it...go to the grocery store and buy something and go home and cook it and it will be quicker and better. No wonder it was empty... read more

The view was the best thing. We thought the food was mediocre. When we asked the server if there was a specialty brunch item and he responds that the all american breakfast (eggs, meat, potato, toast) is the best, we knew we were in trouble. My lox bagel seemed like a spread from a grocery store, the latte tasted burnt, and potatoes were soggy. My husband did enjoy his benedict which was tasty, and service was good. We asked for mescal, which was on the menu...the bartender looked through all the wines before telling us they were out. I thought this was an excellent place to get a quick bite to eat. We ended up sitting at the bar which was really nice. We were able to be entertained with Survivor on the TV and nice relaxing music in the background. The Smoked Trout Flatbread was excellent to start with. We had a lite dinner of Spicy Bison Chili and Garden Vegetable Soup. Both of which were the perfect temperature and very flavorful. The Jalapeño-Pomegranate Margarita was tasty as well as the Jerry of the Day, which consisted of a dressed up hot chocolate with Buttershots, Sailor Jerry and Orange Bitters. Our waiter was attentive to our needs but not too intrusive. All and all this was a nice surprise after not being able to get into their sister restaurant, The Farm, a short walk away. read more

They have certainly improved dining on the mountain by 100% but raised prices by 300% . If they prioritized customers over profits, Coke would be an option somewhere on the mountain (2x the popularity), but I digress. Lots of people with more money than brains to pay these prices and give 5 or even 4 stars. Those with money AND brains eat at Deer Valley where a $17 burger is worth $17. You can ride at PC, but eat at DV. Btw, service is fine, even apologetic about the prices, especially in summer, when one would expect less gouging...short sighted. read more

This place has the best staff and atmosphere that I've found so far in Park City. The food is great, especially the broccoli and cheese soup and cowboy bison burger. The spinach citrus salad is also amazing. The bartenders and waiters were all great and personable. read more

Food took one hour to arrive. And we ordered a salad, a chicken dish and chicken fingers. Nothing complicated. My beer sat on the bar for 15 minutes before I complained. Very poor service. Real bad. Avoid this place at all costs. Ordered a beer when I sat down and 15 minutes later, no beer and no sign of the waitress. Flagged down another guy who said he'd go get it. About 5 minutes later, still no drink but he brings out my pasta, but without the chicken I'd asked for. As he's taking it back to the kitchen, the original waitress drops the beer off without a word, 20 minutes late. Guy brings the food back and it's terrible. Literally just plain pasta with about half a jar of alfredo sauce on it, a portabello thrown on top just cut into three massive slices, and a piece of grilled chicken hastily cut into three similarly sized slices. Tasted okay since it's hard to screw that up, but nothing I couldn't easily make at home. As a $15 meal it would have been fine, but at $30 it was awful. I don't understand why the reviews were as good as they were. First off, our party of 10 during the July 3, 2012 festival had a 70% rate of becoming violently ill after dining there with significant gastrointestinal issues that nearly required a trip to the ER. When we notified the restaurant the next afternoon to review what we ate and potentially save other patrons, they said they would look into it, call the department of health and get back to us shortly. Twenty four hours later, no response and who knows how many more victims. Besides the slow service, I encourage you to save your family and friends and avoid this caldron of food poisoning. read more

I have been coming to The Canyons for a very long time. As time has gone by Red Tail Grill as continued to go down hill in quality of food and choice of draft beer and wine. Yesterday I stopped by for a draft and decided to order the homemade chips and french onion dip. First, the draft beer I ordered from the menu they no longer have. Second, the chips and dip were terrible. If the chips were homemade they were made the day before. I have NEVER had a homemade french onion dip that was solid white and runny. It was like a bowl of watered down greek yogurt with chunks of non-carmelized onions and ZERO seasoning. The waitress noticed it was a "bit off". She stated that it sometimes happens when they have change of staff in the kitchen. There are not a lot of places to dine/hang out in Canyons Village. I spoke with several people about their food and here is what they had to say. The wings have no flavor, the burger is better at Burger King. It is sad that Red Tail Grill still has not managed to step it up. Could be "The Place" if they would just fix a few things. read more

My husband and I ate at this restaurant three days ago, Saturday, December 14th. I had some kind of taco and instead of the beans and rice I opted for the salad. The service was great and our waitress was very prompt. The only problem I have was the food! Later that night I became very ill which seemed to be caused by some sort of food poisoning! Instead of skiing, I was in my hotel room the whole day going back and forth to the restroom! I could barely drink anything without my stomach cramping up and me going back to the restroom. Today is Monday and I am just now able to eat some solid foods. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to eating at this restaurant. If you decide to eat here please request to see the kitchen. You'll pay a fortune to eat here and the food tastes like it comes frozen from GFS. I had the hamburger and it was way under done and tasted pretty bad. It came with a salad that was the best part of the meal. An American brew is $7. The french fries were HORRID. Skip the guacamole. It is WAY too salty and you'll thirst forever after eating it. Everything in the Canyons is way over priced but the food should be better than this. Don't know anything about the food or service, as we were never served. Went in on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 7, about 3pm. There were two other couples at the bar, so not very busy. After about 10 minutes sitting there, the bartender said he would be right with us. He disappeared for a while, then came back and started clearing plates nearby. After 10 more minutes of waiting we decided to go elsewhere. THIEVES!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!! My friends (3 couples) and I ate here in February. After forgetting to put in our order for almost an hour, we were offered a free appetizer. Nice enough. Then 1 of our meals was incorrect so we were comped $7 - again, nice enough. So far so good. We requested that the bill get split 3 ways = $105.36 per couple. Clearly a sizeable bill. "Gratuity" was already included so we signed our receipts and left. The server "Susan" then took it upon herself to add a $115.72 "TIP" to MY CHARGE BILL. What a great place with an amazing view of the mountain. My family went there for lunch while we were skiing and I was very impressed by the service and the food creativity. Although I must say paying $18 for a burger is a bit absurd I loved every bit of the Southwestern Burger. The thick applewood smoked bacon ontop of some mexican cheese with a big chili pepper grilled and to top it off cheddar jalapeno bun. Epic. Also, I was pretty jacked up about the sweet potato fries which was amazing. My sister had the fish tacos which she said were really good. Our server was great and I really like the chips and salsa. The potato skins for an appetizer were a little different than ordinary with a southwestern twist to them which I really enjoyed. Anytime you can make a great twist to potato skins and a burger I'm loving it. They also knew that we were trying to get back to the slopes ASAP so they put our orders in quickly and there was never a moment where I wasn't stuffing my face with either the chips, skins or burger!!! Here for a conference that has been planned for many months. Restaurant turning people away and it is half empty because they don't have enough wait staff and the kitchen cannot keep up with the orders as well. This is in the middle of ski season and the hotels are sold out yet they can't fill more than half the restaurant. There are minimal options in the Canyons Village for eating. Go to Vail or any resort in Colorado where there are many more dining options. Unbelievable! read more
