After way too long we finally made our first visit to Redbird! I always love a good scratch kitchen and craft cocktails and Redbird delivered on both! The smells and sights of plates leaving the kitchen immediately let us know we were in food a good time. We garlic confit pretzel had me angry it was so good (like why am I just now having this?!) - I would gladly take a jar of the garlic. The Sonoran burger was sloppy and flavorful- I personally don't like avocado so next time I would go without. The redbird chicken was so good- keep it right with the grilled chicken! Couldn't not get fries - and a small for only $5 was perfect to share. The cocktails were amazing- both in taste and presentation. We even went for it with a Redbird Shot (very very tasty)! This restaurant has grown on me. I don't recall which location I am reviewing but I have been to both and enjoyed them equally. Amelia was my server at the new location on 5th and she was awesome. We got the shrimp tacos and wings. The tacos were some of the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. Hubby enjoyed the wings though they seemed huge to me. Kinda weird, but they tasted bomb. Drinks were made well and in the new location it is a large room, with a large bar so one can make it a place to sit and dine or sit at the bar and watch tv. The menu has a little something for everyone--burgers (including a solid black bean option), wings, tacos, and more. My usual favorite has been the corn and green chile tacos--as someone from Alabama, they remind me of creamed corn in the best way. Comforting, flavorful, and always satisfying. But now that they've added the elote nachos to the menu? Game changer. Absolutely delicious and hearty enough to share (or not, I won't judge). Their drink menu is impressive too. If cocktails are your thing, they rotate regularly with seasonal options. I personally stick with the Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a great pour. Waffles fries were great! I found the burger to be good, but not as fantastic as I had hoped. It was very messy and both the burger patties and the Redbird sauce didn't have much flavor at all. We also got the buffalo chicken sandwich and there was so much sauce that the sandwich was soggy and messy. The made from scratch ketchup was tart and had a terrible aftertaste. Overall I was very underwhelmed with the food especially having read so many reviews. The service was fast and friendly. Wow, what a gem! Checked this place out for lunch on a Saturday with my mom and we loved it. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Lovely murals on the walls; gallery walls featuring photos of cardinals, the business owners, and local floral and fauna; big garage style doors creating an indoor/outdoor feel; and a gorgeous bar with lovely red lights. Whoever designed the interior did a fantastic job. It's not a large space but it's extremely well appointed. The bar has three TVs so you can also catch a game very easily from almost every seat in the house. The menu features lots of burger options and my mom went with the classic; all burgers come with two smashed patties and wow it was huge! Perfectly cooked and seasoned too! We got a small side of the waffle fries and I got 3 tacos--the carne asada, the grilled shrimp, and the chiles Rojas. Delicious! All of the items the tables next to us ordered also looked sooo good! Service was good and perhaps my favorite part was the hot towels they bring you at the end of the meal. Their food is so good and juicy it's definitely needed and appreciated and such a nice unique touch! I can't wait to come back and try some is their other items! We are always looking for good places to eat near where Mom is living now. (we had to move her at the beginning of November) We decided to try Redbird Scratch Kitchen yesterday, and were Very Pleasantly surprised. Mom had the Cob Salad, and enjoyed it Very much! She's always been a big one for bacon, so the crispy bacon crumble, the fresh, cut little tomatoes, cubed cheese, sliced eggs, and the greens with dressing were a BIG hit for her. She seemed to like it more with each bite. (That's saying a lot for a Dementia patient!) Dad ordered the Sonoran Burger. When it came he was impressed with the size. He said it was Okay, but he was expecting a different taste with the green chilies. (which are a favorite for him) I had the Carne Asada tacos and enjoyed them. The three little tacos were very tasty. The atmosphere was nice. It was loud, but not terrible. The table arrangement allowed for ease of access for my Dad's BIG walker without too much fuss. The Wait staff were on top of their game. When Mom finished her soda, our waitress brought a new one right as Mom finished the last sip of her first one. She checked on us several times without being obnoxious, and was very Kind. The prices are a bit more than we have been used to, but that's not saying much. (everything is getting more expensive) I would call this a Win for us, and we will likely be returning. read more

We arrived during happy hour (Monday-Friday 3-6) and enjoyed the garlic confit pretzel appetizer. The soft pretzels came with a triple cheese sauce and Dijon honey mustard. It also had candied peppers and roasted Jalapeños on the side which was a unique touch. For my meal, I enjoyed the small Mac n cheese with grilled chicken. The small was a big enough portion for me to have leftovers to go! My friend really enjoyed the Taco salad with grilled chicken. It's fun that they give you warm towels to wipe your hands at the end, although neither of us had meals which we used our hands. Our darling waitress, Hanna, was right there to welcome us, answer our questions and take our drink orders. She immediately made it a point to happily make some suggestions for our meals. I live the newer trend of scratch restaurants using high quality ingredients and care to make delicious food. So, when RedBird popped up at lunch time I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is vibrant and aesthetically pleasing and the music the perfect volume for the background so diners aren't shouting over the music. It wasn't overly loud and I was able to enjoy my solo meal. I had 3 different protein tacos - birria with consommé, breaded shrimp and pollo asado - they were soooo good! The medium green chili salsa was flavorful and the hot chili was the perfect heat for some that wants a good kick without hating themselves later. I would totally recommend giving RedBird a try! I had to track her down to get the bill. I also had to ask another server to find her so I could have some ketchup. Meh. The Bestie had the Redbird Classic Burger. No sides are included so that was a bit sad. Pfft. I ordered the Mac & Cheese with bacon. I really enjoyed the radiatori pasta. However, the cheese sauce was so blah and lacked no flavor. Disappointing. There was also a lack of sauce. The pasta type is designed to "gather" the sauce so it was dry. We had an early dinner reservation at 4:00 pm last Saturday! We got there a few minutes early and they sat us immediately . Our server was Matt who was a total delight!
