This is a popular restaurant with a classy ambience and an awesome view. I didn't have reservations on a Sunday, and it was booked up. I was kindly offered a seat at the bar, and was made to feel welcome even though they were super busy! I am not a seafood person, so I went with the Redfish burger. It arrived quickly, considering how packed they were. The service was very kind and personable. The burger was high-quality and delicious! The meat was flavorful, and the other components were top-notch as well. The white cheddar cheese had a great aged quality, and the chipotle aioli lent a smokey complexity. It was rich and messy, all of the things I love in a burger, but with some sophisticated touches. The fries were great too! I was really glad to experience one of the best restaurants in the area. We stopped at Redfish on our way from Eureka to Florence, OR. The overcast lifted as we sat at our window table. The two man wait staff was efficient. We enjoyed our Oyster Po'Boy, a delicious, drippy sando. We also ordered a garden salad (assorted lettuces, microgreens, hazelnuts, carrot shreds, caramelized onions) dressed lightly with raspberry vinaigrette. We later agreed that we should have skipped either the salad or the fries we added to our sandwich order (they were big steak fries, done just right). Hard choice. Lots of locals in for lunch, always a good sign. Nice selection of beers and wine and an extensive cocktail list, too. Highly recommended! read more

Surprised at the negative reviews. We dined here last night to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a fantastic experience. Our server, Monica, was outstanding from start to finish. We started with cocktails and the steamer clams, which came with two nice big slices of homemade bread for dipping. Then we split the garden salad and shared the salmon and sablefish pasta for entrees with a half bottle of wine (extensive wine list...love places that offer half bottles). Dessert was a tasty peach-blueberry crisp with cinnamon ice cream. Our only complaint was the excessively salty aioli that came with the salmon...clearly someone tablespooned when they should have teaspooned. But it was on the side so didn't ruin the overall dish, which was lovely. We'll be back for sure. read more

Been coming here for nearly 15 years and early on it was mostly for the view. The food was good but the service was ass. Then they hired a new chef out of PDX around 2018 I want to say and the food took a big step up and so did the service. Considering the view it was no doubt the best restaurant on the south coast. Those days have gone as they hired a new chef about a year ago. Came here on NYE, had reservations, no oysters, no clams, menu was uninspired, chicken was overcooked and the "last" halibut was no better than solid. Very good service and some legit desert saved the occasion but I'm not sure this is the guy for the job. read more

First things first I'd like to acknowledge that the two stars was for the view and the waitress. This is our 4th or 5th year coming here and never had an issue. This time we had a big group of about 15 and had many problems. We got chicken that was uncooked and had to get sent back, the fish pasta was super bland(3 people ordered) and everyone got it made differently. 4 people's food came out after everyone else was done and eating their dessert. And my filet mignon was made incorrectly, was supposed to be medium well but was medium rare. Lots of disappointment tonight. Our waitress was so sweet and none of it was her fault, she was doing what she could for us. Where was the manager? No management ever came over to talk to us or nothing... Overall each family spent easily over $100 for food that was not worth it. Great view but not the best food this time around. Not coming back. read more

This was a delicious find! We came for the view but stayed for the fries && tacos! The staff was excellent, attentive, and patient. We took a bit to order because the place was just so peaceful and beautiful. Everything was top notch, fresh, and you can tell the love that went into the dishes. If you've never had Steelhead before, it's similar to salmon but in my opinion, it has a richer texture and flavor. The oyster shooters were delicious in flavor, texture wasn't bad they were local oysters, but they were HUGE! I couldn't fit them in my mouth so I had to bite into them. They had a lovely kick at the end and overall great. If you're in Port Orford I recommend coming early and sitting outside. Just perfect! read more

Have had many good experiences at Redfish. Not on Friday, 4/3/2026. We were greeted, served water, ordered beverages. The restaurant was not crowded: Three servers for four tables. We sat for 20+ minutes ready to place our dinner order. No beverages came, no "we will be right with you," - - nothing. The servers were chatting behind the bar and paid no attention to us - we were treated like we were invisible. I made eye contact with one server who walked right past us. It was very uncomfortable to be left just sitting there for an unreasonable amount of time. When we decided we had waited long enough, no one even came over as we got up from our table. It was not a good experience at all, and management needs to know about this experience. read more

Literally the only elevated dining experience in the entire town that we had found. it was clean and modern inside. we were seated right away, and get here early as we did if you don't have reservations on a weekend, as it fills up fast. Service is excellent. View is wonderful. not near as many flies as other establishments in town. full bar, and although we did not like our Paloma, we thoroughly enjoyed our margaritas. she had the roasted organic chicken on mashed potatoes, I had the lamb cacciatore on polenta, with an order of truffle fries on the side... I had been to a restaurant named truffle in a big city last week and these fries had more truffle essence on them than that entire restaurant.. its all in that review... drinks were affordable at $5 per.. and the food was delicious. star of the show was dessert, that chocolate cheesecake was potentially the very best chocolate cheesecake I've ever had... truffles were great, and vegan.. but that cheesecake.. I'd literally pull over for that alone... Chris the owner gives ample face time to his guests and is very concerned with their satisfaction and it shows. We came for lunch and in retrospect, it might have been better coming for dinner; as there was a somewhat limited menu at lunch. The decor in the restaurant is lovely, with dark colors, lots of original art and rich wood and metal tables and chairs. All of the tables have a lovely ocean view. Truly not a bad seat on the house. There is also Al-fresco dining, but it was a little too cold to enjoy the patio. Service was rapid and friendly. The environment was nice until some children who were loud (one was coughing uncovered onto all of us,) and apparently they were related to the owner. Once they arrived on the scene, it made it feel chaotic, when it would otherwise have felt lovely and intimate. We had a Caesar salad, fish tacos, clam appetizer and clam chowder. The Caesar was by far my favorite entree. Has bits of anchovies which was not overwhelming, but added to the umami. The greens were fresh and delicious and the lemon was fresh tasting. Of If I were to return, I'd have a larger salad and skip the appetizer and wouldn't choose the clam chowder or clam appetizer or fish tacos. Next the fish tacos. Fairly bland with no flavor besides the salsa that accompanied it. We couldn't finish them, and there were only two. The clam appetizer was overly heavy with garlic, and cooled too quickly. This dish is best served for multiple people so it can be consumed quickly. The bread that accompanied it was quite hard, and we couldn't eat it. It was beyond the crispiness of toast points and was closer to croutons consistency, but was still in large slices that wasn't really suited to dipping into the small bowl of clams. It would have been nice to be offered an empty bowl to stack the empty clam shells. The clam chowder is the first one I've tasted on the coast that doesn't have bacon. That's a good thing. However, it seemed to have too much corn starch or flour, so lost some of the signature creaminess associated with this dish. The addition of fresh corn also made it a little too sweet for my taste. I'm still waiting to taste a truly clam-forward clam chowder in Gold Beach and environs, and not just a soup loaded with bacon or corn to cover the taste of clams. The garnish game on the soup was on point, with grated chives and chili oil that added a touch of heat. I wanted to enjoy this restaurant and think I just arrived at the wrong time and on the wrong day. I'd be happy to change my review, but just don't think based on my experience, that I'll be back. It is truly refreshing to have a restaurant on the coast that isn't just serving up fried seafood. I was eager to try something fresh and flavorful. Sorry that it didn't work out on this visit, as I've been waiting a couple of years to eat here. read more

I guess other people thought the same thing because they seemed a little under staffed for such an early lunch rush on a Wednesday. The food was ok. The stadium fry upgrade just meant that the fries are drenched in a pool of melted butter. Not worth it. Fish sandwich was fine. Fish tacos were also fine. The biggest draw was our waitress looked EXACTLY like actress Lauren Lapkus (Google her) and we had a good time imagining her take on a waitress at a Port Orford "high end" fish restaurant. What a cool place to stop along the Oregon coast. Well thought out layout-- furniture designed and forged by owner' s brother and nephew. The fish was great. The bar looked amazing-- too bad we were still a ways from parking our car and enjoying a drink. The inside had local art and the deck had five tables with a view of the pacific and the coast. Amazing view! We had a 10 person party reservation, they were ready for us when we got there at 7. The waitress was friendly and very chill... not in a hurry. We ordered the oyster shooters, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We also got the empanadas and clams, those both devoured. Drinks were tasty! We had completely finished our appetizers and had a refill on drinks before our order was taken, which I found a tad bit odd. It seemed like it put back our dining service quite a bit as we were still there eating our food as they told us the bar and kitchen were closing. Once the entrees came, the overall consensus was pretty "okay". No one loved their entree unfortunately, we ate and didn't complain though! But, desert was amazing! We tried the toffee cake, hibiscus cheesecake, and the cobbler. All were so yummy! I was shocked by how amazing the food was. I knew it would be good but didn't know it would be great. The service was incredible from the gecko. Tried a ton of things on the menu and enjoyed most of it. The Redfish rangoon and the Veggie Beignets were delightful. Great atmosphere, waitress was wonderful and so helpful. The food was ok, some people in our party really enjoyed their meals. I had the special which was halibut with angel hair pasta and some kind of white sauce. The sauce was really bland, the only flavor I could taste was a slight coconut flavor. The halibut was tender, and the flavor was good. The meal came with Broccoli and that was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Lamb, and he said it was delicious. Another person in our party had the New York steak I believe, and he said it was really dry. He actually wanted the Ribeye, but they were out. I think 3 people in our party wanted the Ribeye and unfortunately, they had none. Pretty disappointing. I was wavering between a 3 or a 4 stars, but decided on a 4 since at least 1/2 our party was satisfied with their meals. We will probably try someplace else next time we are in the area, Probably the best part of this place is the view. read more
