Rating: 3.5 I went here again with my siblings. There wasn't much of a wait with taking our order or receiving our food. I basically got anything that had jalapeños in it, which was all tasty. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. Only this time we waited for a while to get our check. Which is ironic, because first it was receiving our food, second time it was getting a waitress, and then this time it was waiting for a check? It's kinda funny at this point. Maybe they forgot about us when they got a really big table / rsvp room? I'm not really sure if they have that kind of thing there but it looked like our waitress kind of switched with someone and she started helping with a VIP section. I was really confused about who's section I was in, because it seemed while we had a waitress for our table the neighboring booths had two different servers as well. We were also unsure if we could just go to the host table and pay there because it seemed like it was just a podium for seating people and not an actual register. Overall our experience this time was a bit better, but most likely won't be a favorite place. read more

This is our go to place for great sushi! We don't even want to try other sushi places in Anchorage since we discovered this place.

I say they went downhill after a few years from their old location and I stopped going way before they closed down, but if you haven't given them a chance on their new location, you should do so. I have been coming here a few times and everything we have tried were great and fresh. No disappointments yet on food. Place is clean, service is friendly and fast. First time here. Nice dining experience with a lot of potential. We do eat a lot of sushi to compare and this place had an imbalanced price to meat ratio. We ordered escolar and sake nigiri, a boat and a chicken pad thai. Either bigger cuts with a sharper knife or drop the price a bit. Clean, fresh, new, hip, young friendly staff, but we won't hurry back. read more

Greeted with a smile from owner,sushi bar chefs & server. The Hostess never greeted or even smiled at us as always. But food is always good,big portions and nice staff. Forest gump, beef attack, House fried rice, Haru sampler are my favorite. We always eat here when there is a celebration like birthday and even ordinary days. My favorite sushi place. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! The roll menu was a little overwhelming, there's so many specials to choose from but they aren't very different, it all seemed like the same two or three rolls with different outside toppings. We ended up getting the sushi combo which had twelves difference pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll of our choice. We split it, it's not very share friendly though, and we were both so full after. This place is a favorite for many Sushi lovers in Anchorage. Delicious and excellent dishes. Our favorite is the Sushi rolls with baked salmon on top and the Sashimi. The portions are also big and generous. If you're not very fond of sushi they also have a great selection of foods for non-sushi eaters. Staff is also very friendly and courteous. Aside from the great service, facilities were very clean. A really awesome place to dine! read more

We have always loved the old Haru Sushi Restaurant. New place unfortunately does not have the same friendly service. We've visited here a few times and for some reason even when place is slow, we get ignored for about 15 minutes while we watch people that just walk in and get serviced with a friendly smile and water right away.. today is probably the last time we will visit here. Again we were subjected to being ignored by the waiter for the 1st 15 minutes and they never follow up if we need water or anything else.. foods ok, my family of 5 can get sushi elsewhere. It's the service that differentiates a good restaurant from another.. guess we were always seated at the wrong spot? read more

Always enjoyed Haru so I was really happy to see them open again. When it gets busy, waiting can take almost an hour. Food is worth it.

The first time I came to ReHaru, I was a little disappointed in the service. Coming back, it's improved so much! It's still a work in progress, but I'm cutting some slack. They've only been open for a few months. Prices are reasonable, a couple dollars cheaper than anywhere else, and exceptional service. I ordered the sukiyaki, which is a beef soup that has assorted vegetables and glass noodles. The soup was perfectly seasoned and it was such a large portion that I ended up taking it home with me. I also ordered the sexy roll which is my all time favorite roll! The bites of tuna poke on top was seasoned so well, I enjoyed every bite. I also ordered a sushi platter, and instead of the usual tuna, salmon and red snapper that's usually on platters like that, I got a wonderful assortment of fish. Each bite of the nigiri was portioned just right so I didn't have to cut it, I was able to eat it in one bite! The food was so good, and the service was exceptional, I think I I found my new favorite sushi restaurant! read more

Finally went to Reharu for the first time and the California rolls were delicious, I thought my husband Mongolian beef dish was delicious but he said it was ok. The reason why I give it three stars is because the sticky rice was very mushy and the bathrooms were disgustingly dirty. read more

Went here twice within the month, and loved it both times! My first time here was on Valentine's Day, and it was very busy but our waitress was very attentive and timely with our drinks, taking our order, and giving us the check. Our food came out pretty quickly as well, and was delicious! I've tried chicken katsu at many different places in town and Reharu has the BEST! Also tried the salmon skin roll, which was also delicious! The second time I went was just as pleasant. Food quality and customer service was consistent. Will definitely come here again! I had the fatty something roll. It was delicious! I loved my order when they opened at 11 and mentioned I'll be there around 12:20. When I arrived they had just finished making it so it was still warm. Very clean inside. Theyer handling covid very well. A coworker mentioned to me that when they went the other day they had to be separated due to how big the group was and they appreciated the follow of covid protocols. My family and I Cane here on Mother's Day, our first visit. Inside atmosphere and decor was very nice, modern & simplistic. The greeter & waiter were extremely upbeat & on point. My 8 yr old git the kids plate (teriyaki chicken, veggies, crab rangoons & rice), my 9 yr old got the beef pho, my hubby and I ordered the beef attack, dragons talons & haru egg rolls. Everything was delicious! I was so happy with our sushi pics, the beef attack was not heavy, the dragons talons has the right amount of crunch. Kids enjoyed their meals. My 9 yr old who is requires beef pho once a week said it was the best beef pho she's ever had! Definitely recommend & definitely will go back. read more

I'm not a sushi fan but their entrees were amazing. I got Mongolian beef and my sister got sesame chicken. Probably the best we had in anchorage. The place looks kinda small on the inside. Not a lot of parking and they posted signs not to park at sicilys next door. Will be back though! read more

reHaru is basically our 2nd home! When Haru was making a comeback we knew we had to go. They are always so attentive and friendly and the ambiance of the place is so welcoming! We usually go every week maybe even twice a week and it's always so good. We usually order the smoky philly, haru special, haru orgasm, wow bob, and crazy boy! The old Haru was my favorite sushi spot so I was so happy when the new one opened. I was concerned that the new one would disappoint but boy was I wrong! It is just as good as the old one. The rolls were not only beautiful but tasted amazing. The service was fantastic! From the time we were seated to the walk out the door people were friendly and helpful. Initially I was not impressed with the service because the girl at the desk didn't even smile and was just meh. I was a little bummed out they only give you a miso soup, other places give you the miso soup and salad and other things. I always order the baked salmon roll so I looked for something similar on the menu and it is called Sea Monster. First of all typically you get the smallest piece of salmon on the top but there was a very generous amount of salmon on my roll! The best part , the roll was delicious. I loved everything about it. The place is new and i love the interior. Their menus are really nice i personally loved the look of it. As far as the servers go A+ very good service. Even their water is good! I expected a lot from this sushi restaurant because of how clean and tidy it was. Lots of room and really modern interior but, DO NOT let that fool you. First of all the dishes are over priced and the alcohol isn't priced so we ended up paying 20 bones for one shot? What?! Not only that but our waitress demanded a 20% tip when we never even got our water refilled! That's not even the worse part of my experience... I definitely had food poisoning from eating the "Chefs mistake" sushi roll, they call it a mistake for a reason. I don't even know what fish I was eating but as soon as I ate it it was awful. I told our waitress about it and she had to go back and ask the chef what kind of fish was in it and I still don't know what fish it was. At the end of the day I did pay $18 for a roll I only took one bite out of and I did have food poisoning for TWO whole weeks. Unless you want some over priced sushi and some bad customer service I suggest this place for you. read more

Went to the restaurant after reopening and hearing good things about the original. During my visit, I ordered a "medium" order of sashimi (as started in menu). When ordering my I was told there was so such thing repeatedly until I got the menu and showed the waitress. Once the food arrived 1/3 of the sashimi was frozen and tasted strange, so it was not eaten. After receiving the check and paying with a card, I gave the waitress a $5 tip (totaling $55.00 all together). When attempting to leave the table, the waitress returned with the merchant copy of the receipt and asked if I gave a $5.00 tip, because my $55.00 appeared as a $65.00 and she needed to know if I added the tip incorrectly. Then proceeded to chastise me for having a slight curve to my first '5' in the written $55.00. She would not leave until I crossed out the $55.00 and rewrote it; so I did, slowly and as accurately as possible as she watched. It was a very uncomfortable situation and dinner. read more

Went to reharu for the first time. The food was great but the service was seriously sub par. It must have been a short staffed night ( I can only hope that was the case) because our waiter was barely present. We had a group of 5 and we ordered a combination of sushi & non sushi entrees. The non sushi entree's came out quick and hot, our waiter said the sushi would be out soon. We didn't see her again after that for quite some time. The food tasted great, but we were able to finish our entrees before the sushi came out, to make it worse we sat for an extra thirty minutes waiting for the sushi. So basically our group ended up eating separately. Throughout the wait time our waiter didn't come up to us to let us know what was going on or how much longer we were going to have to wait, we were left guessing. We were starting to think they forgot about our sushi order all together. We didn't get any sort of free appetizer or dessert for our troubles nor any sort of discount on our check. Pretty disappointed with the service because the sushi was delicious. My only recommendation if you really want to eat here would be not to come during peak hours. read more
