Reliable Delivery is Amazing. I recently moved my mother from a 4 bedroom 2-story house into a 3 bedroom 1-story just a few miles away. The 2 gentlemen that did the move were professional, unbelievably fast, and just plain nice to be around. Let me start by saying I have never had movers before. I have always done the friend thing, which is great, but takes a lot of time, and you worry about your stuff getting broken. With Reliable, my move was done before noon on a weekday! For the most recent move, we decided to get movers. We just got married and had a bunch of new "adult furniture" that I didn't want to risk getting broken or marred. I got a few quotes and Reliable had the best deal. Also, I moved on a weekday to get the absolute best deal. Leading up to the move, the owner was really up front about what they would move and they wouldn't. He gave me written information. I have read other mover reviews on yelp and it seems that the main reason people have trouble is because they simply are not ready when the movers come. My advice is that once you hire them, start packing your stuff so you know what to tell them to move when they get there. It will save you a lot of headache. On the day of our move we had 3 movers, they were all super nice and courteous. They got straight to work. As mentioned, I worked pretty hard to get everything ready for them, and they had my whole 2 bedroom apartment packed up in one hour. They just kept moving until it was done. The move into the new place was a bit longer as the new place is on the third floor and they had to use the elevators for a lot of stuff, but still we only paid for three hours of work. I am so happy! I would recommend them for anyone. They even asked us before they left if we wanted anything moved within the apartment to make sure it was all where we wanted it! Very impressed! We moved locally and hired Reliable Delivery to move primarily our furniture. They padded and wrapped all the pieces and very efficiently and quickly moved us from our apartment to our new home. It was especially great that the pieces were padded as our apartment complex had forgotten to pad the elevators and we didn't risk scratching any of our rented floors. Their rates are reasonable and Thomas, Kevin and Ernesto are all pros at what they do. Highly recommend and would hire again! I had a great experience with Reliable Delivery! I needed assistance moving all the heavy items that everyone hates having to move. My two man team showed up right n time and got to work. They were friendly and personable. We enjoyed a chat while they worked. I paid in cash, so I got the $20 discount. Altogether a very good experience and money well spent. The only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars is that I wish they had a local move option for a bit cheaper. An hour would have been perfect for me. Great company to work with. They were the only company out of 12 or so to agree to a 1 hour minimum, seeing as I only had one large piece of furniture to move. They were early on the pickup, and quick on the delivery. Price was cheaper than quoted, too. Took time to wrap my furniture well, and covered/wrapped corners of my walls just in case they bumped into anything. Both movers were friendly and courteous. From my first interaction with Daniel to the day of the move, everything was handled professionally. We were moving from two locations into one, which added some complexity to the timing. Dan and his crew were great!! They went above and beyond to help us with our move. Any questions I had prior to the move were answered quickly. They provided free wardrobe boxes and they were the only company we talked to that did not charge a minimum amount of hours to move us. Their prices are very solid and they showed up on time and moved our stuff with great care and expertise. We had 3 guys move us and they busted ass to get it down in as short amount of time as possible. They are young, strong, energetic and will not waist time during your move. I'm fairly particular on how my stuff looks, how it is packed and these guys were very patient and careful with my stuff. My biggest pet peeve is when people are late or they give you a 3 hour window of time they may be there- these movers were on time (probably even waiting outside until the exact hour hit)!!!! Thanks to Dan and his team of supermovers! They showed up promptly at 8am, quickly inventoried and planned the day and move order by room, advised me of the hours needed accurately but volunteered to work extra if we wished to finish in one day ( we did), quickly packed our many glass filled curios and shelves piece by piece better than the manufacturers, plastic wrapped just about everything to keep clean, had about 50 blankets and xtra boxes plus all the gear needed, and proceeded to pack and unpack our 3000 ft home incredibly efficiently with nothing getting broken or damaged! Very pleased! Already knew it was a great team and treated them to lunch since I and my back appreciated every box and move! I just hired Reliable Delivery this weekend for a move from PB to another place in PB. The guys were super nice, on time, called when they were on their way, and packed up my apartment fairly quickly. Overall, they deserve a raise. I knew the costs ahead of time, but I think like most of the other posters, felt it was on the high side. To move a one-bedroom apartment, with a drive time in between places of about 5 minutes, my total bill came to $283. This included the cost per hour, a gas fuel charge, drive time (at double the hourly rate), a 3% card charge, and a stair charge (5 itty bitty steps in the front of my new house for $10). The entire move took 2.25 hours, and that was with a friend of mine and me helping out. Keep in mind that the Yelp discount only applies when you're paying cash... and I didn't take out enough cash to cover quite this much... Maybe I was being unrealistic with the time it would take to move, or maybe the drive time and other charges were unreasonable, but it just didn't quite seem worth it. Probably won't be using them again, just because of the cost. read more

These guys are top notch, Dan (the owner) contacted me a few minutes after i had requested a quote on their web site. Love the fact that there is no minimum 4 hours like so many other movers charge. Very resonable rates. Dan and his A-team (Seth and Chris) showed up a few minutes earlier than scheduled and got down to business right away. Very fast and professional guys! Reliable Delivery helped us move last week and they exceeded our expectations. They are a professional, efficient and all around a great group to work with. During the move we had a large armoire that needed to be moved to the second floor. Unfortunately, our staircase was too tiny to accomodate the armoire size. Instead, of them giving up...they found a way to back the truck up to the 2nd floor patio and hoist it over the balcony. Needless to say that they went above and beyond on our move. I dreaded my move. I'm not someone that moves often and I was in my condo for 23 years. I woke up with dread the morning of the move. But that changed when 4 men from Reliable Delivery came promptly to my door at 8 a.m. They treated me with respect. I told them that my husband with blind and they treated him so well. They couldn't do enough for us. They are the company that goes the extra mile. It was about 95 degrees out and very humid and then did everything with a smile and just couldn't do enough. Two bad reviews in a row, might be a trend.... I will say this, the guys (3 total) who came were courteous and quick... maybe too quick. I had packed up my belongings fairly well, but there were certain things that I knew were just going to have to be packed by the movers and I left these for them. While most of my belongings arrived OK at my destination, there were a few things that did take some hits, notably a nightstand that was dropped (3 guys and they dropped something?) that more than likely cannot be fixed and most definitely not replaced. They had told me that the nightstand had been chipped prior to arriving at the destination but I did not get a chance to see how bad it was until we arrived at the destination. I was told by them that Daniel the owner would take care of everything and I would just have to contact him (email preferred) that day. I contacted Daniel soon thereafter to let him know what had happened both via email and on the phone (voicemail msg) He replied back by email asking me some basic questions and was unapologetic for anything that occurred. To be honest I didn't know what was going to happen from there as he did not prep me for anything, but I did feel like SOMETHING was going to happen :-) ........... So it has been over 1 month since I have heard from Daniel and I still have no resolution to my issue. The nightstand is still broken and I have nothing to show for it. I suppose the 2 banger up above is more for the background logistical aspects of this company rather than the movers themselves, but they all represent Reliable and the moving process as a whole. Until this gets resolved, I can't say with good faith that I would recommend these guys to anyone else since if anything occurs during the move, you may never hear from them again... read more

Let me just start this by saying I never write reviews on yelp! I always read reviews but frankly I am too lazy to write them! We moved last Friday from downtown to Hillcrest - 2 bedroom 2 bath 1100 sq ft loft. Moving is lame. No matter how much you prepare it is always a ton of work and sweat. We decided this time, lets pay movers to do the heavy lifting. We boxed and broke down everything before the movers arrived. They arrived at 8AM on the dot ready to work. The 3 guys they sent worked really hard! Chris, Cody & Nate were very polite, very accommodating and professional. We were quoted at 3-4 hours. From start to finish it took them 3 hours and 45 minutes. I paid cash which got us 10% off. Total was $560-10% discount = $504 plus a $120 tip (I wasn't really sure how much to tip). I think overall it was money well spent. They did a great job, no boxes were missing, nothing inside the boxes was broken. Our furniture got pretty dusty in the truck they hauled in....but no biggie. Other than that everything was great. I will definitely recommend and call Reliable next time I need movers. read more

I found this moving company on yelp (my go to guide). I had asked around to other friends with a household our size (4 bedrooms) and chose them even though none of my friends had used them before (but all my friends had complaints about the other moving companies they did use!). Reliable won me over with their professionalism (on website and via communications) and pricing, plus they are insured, etc. My communications with them were easy and efficient (mostly spoke to Daniel but also someone else). They gave me an estimate right away and I felt their pricing was about right. I liked that they took credit cards although we ended up paying cash so we could get the offered yelp discount. We have used several different moving companies on the east and west coasts and this is to date my favorite (flatrate is 2nd and the only other worth mentioning). I literally have nothing to gripe about. The guys who moved us were on time in the morning (and they called us before they arrived), clean, not creepy, super nice to us and our small children (no grumps here), they were quick, able, and did not damage any of our furniture or items. They offered us free wardrobe boxes which I did not think I would use, but did, and the boxes were clean. Also, they did not leave dirty smudge finger print marks on any of our furniture especially my white covered dining chairs. They finished the job a little earlier than expected and since we were paying per hour, came in under the estimated price. I would highly recommend them to anyone and although I do not wish to move again for a very long time, I would use them again in a heart beat. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. These guys left me hanging a week before my move and are shady and unprofessional. So, what happened? I booked a move a month ago through a 3rd-party website that helps comparison shop for movers, locks in a price, and handles payment. I've used that site before and it was great. Reliable had the best price this time and great reviews, so I booked with them. Almost immediately the problems started. Even though the other site handles payment, Reliable demanded my credit-card information, even though it was already being handled by the other company. They also required me to re-do all the information I had spent 45 minutes entering into the website (number of boxes, furniture items, etc). When I protested, they were insistent, and it took intervention from the outside company to stop Reliable's unreasonable demands. Today, I emailed Reliable to confirm, since they had been difficult. I found out the earlier disagreement we had meant that Reliable had not guaranteed our move one week from today and had filled up their entire day we were scheduled to move. Basically, they screwed me over. Long story short, I cancelled these guys and am moving with another company that I used on a move last year. They're not as cheap as Reliable, but at this point I'd rather pay extra for the peace of mind that comes with trusting my mover and knowing they won't flake out on me. The kinds of shady tactics Reliable pulled is exactly why I used a 3rd-party company to support my dealings with movers, and I'm grateful I had them there to advocate on my behalf. Maybe Reliable is the cheapest, but they are not worth the money. Move with another company! EDIT: The owner of this company contacted me after I posted this review to explain to me why he left me hanging. He lied in that phone message by saying that they needed certain paperwork to comply with California law. I know he lied because when I contacted my new moving company, I specifically asked them if they needed paperwork and they said no-- they were able to get what they needed from the 3rd-party site I had used. So basically, to add insult to injury, Reliable LIED about the reason why they dropped me. My theory on why they lied? They knew they couldn't upcharge me since I had a locked-in price through the 3rd-party provider, and that the reason they demanded my credit-card information was so they could add additional charges on the day of the move. I've had none of this shady stuff through the other moving company I switched to today. Consider yourself warned-- Reliable is anything but. read more

I have used two other companies in the past: Global Van Lines - Two guys, good workers (some very minimal damage), but expensive. Very corporate. Bay Park - Slower, somewhat sketchy types. Got the job done, but took too much time. Reliable Delivery was better. They were faster, had a lower hourly rate, took greater care, and had good personalities. This is no slouch crew. Daniel (the owner) was quick to respond to my request for a quote. He and Chris showed up exactly at the planned time. The logistics were well planned, they hustled, and were very conscientious about handling property (no damage). The total time was within that estimated for our move (4-5 hours for a 2 br using 2 guys; and we have a lot of stuff, including a piano). In order to save time, I helped. They were great about involving me, while ensuring that they did all of the heavy lifting. Daniel indicated that after college he started the company as a specialist in moving antiques, then later added common household moves. It shows. The attention to details was there. Daniel really was concerned about customer service and communications. Not only will I use them again, I highly recommend them. read more

I recently purchased a home and was looking for moving people. I spoke with Dan to set up an approximate date to move based upon the close of my house. The close was pushed back several times and Dan was more than helpful to accommodate those changes. Based on good yelp reviews we hired Dan and crew to move my family. I'll start with the positives: They showed up on time. The guys were clean and friendly. Job was finished early. However, there were a number of problems: Dishonest billing: Like other posts complaining about the billing, we had a very poor experience when it came time to pay. We had requested and recieved a quote based on an hourly rate + a list of all the extra charges, in addition to the 'not to exceed' price. We did not move several large items so the job finished by 4pm and the quoted 'hourly + extras' price was more than $400 less than the 'not to exceed price'. Dan first said the 'not to exceed' price was the only one that mattered, then later went back to the houly rate but added new charges that had never been quoted before. Additionally he did not honor the 10% cash discount or the yelp discount. He was acting heated and angry and in the end I paid in full because I was worred for the safety of my property and family and decided it was not worth arguing about. One of Dan's employees commented to me "I hate this part." Additionally...I helped disassemble one large and complex item...trying to be helpful. Dan's crew moved the item, but refused to help reassemble it, saying 'since you disassembled it we don't help reassemble'. Advice - DON'T help out, it will cost you. We had been told the laundry washer/dryer would be connected at the new home, but it was not. Overall our things were moved carefully and without damage - but we later found a tabletop had been pulled off the base (screws stripped ) without notifying us. No mover is perfect but integrity matters, and I would not recommend hiring Dan and/or Reliable Delivery. This is the first negaitve review I've ever written on Yelp. read more

They arrived on time, packed up our boxes, and securely moved our furniture (including a large bed frame which they took apart and reassembled without trouble).
