    Lentil tacos with posole
    Christine C.

Richard's Mexican Restaurant did not disappoint yesterday. We were seated and greeted by the owner. She was such a sweet lady. I ordered the lentil tacos with posole and my husband ordered the breakfast akilled with chorizo and egg over medium. The salsa had such a good flavor. The chile was not spicy but had an overall nice flavor. We were excited we got two sopapillas each. They were hot and delicious and were a great finish to the meal. Our server was excellent and made sure our ice tea was never empty. We will make sure to not let our visit such a long absence the next time.

This was a quick stop just to try their sopapillas so the review is just for that. The sopapillas we got had a pretty good flavor (they said made from a mix here) but were not made fresh to order and the texture was a little gummy-- not crisp even though they were fried golden, That's all we got to try but I understand they have good vegan and vegetarian options with lentils, rice, beans and chiles and don't use lard which I appreciate.

My husband and I wanted to try something different than our normal go-to restaurants, so we decided to try Richard's. When we got there it wasn't too packed, but you could tell they definitely have their regulars, as they seemed to be very friendly and know the people that frequent their establishment. The restaurant was clean and bright and the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo and my husband had a breakfast skillet. We both got the chile on the side (acid reflux issues). We also decided to share some French toast. We were given delicious complimentary salsa while we waited. It had a good heat to it. Our food came out fairly quickly. It was hot and delicious. My breakfast burrito had a lot of cheese which made it amazing! though the red chile was hot, we loved it and my husband almost finished his! All around, we will be back

A very yummy plate that was.

One of the Best New Mexican Cuisines in Albuquerque. The food is fresh, hot and tasty. Go by, you will not regret it and you will walk out well satisfied. Yummy

I got to go here for lunch one time and very much enjoyed my vegetarian meal with its combination of foods and flavors and veggies. It's a good lunch place for vegans too. Not typical new Mexican food, as it has different ingredients and flavoring than typical here. I believe there were lentils! My one disappointment is I haven't been able to go since because the hours are so limited and early.

Friendly staff, tasty food. Had two chicken burritos and the Papitas (roasted potatoes). Had to have dry to take on the road, would have loved to have them wet. Providing updated menu images. Stopped in while charging an EV at Walmart.

Chicken enchiladas, 'Christmas ', beans on the left, fideo on the right

With our 10 days of fall over, winter settled in last night with our second freeze of the year. I was chilled all morning and decided that I needed to get warm... Richard's serves real, actual fideo which is something like a Mexican spaghetti. But better. Great salsa served with store bought chips (my only complaint as I like real deal tortilla chips) and the chicken enchiladas with both red and green. The chicken is seasoned well and the chile is the perfect range of not too hot. Never disappoints

Shredded beef taco, Christmas flat cheese enchilada plate, queso enchiladas, he devoured them! And the so yummy fideo!

The food was really good, if you're a fan of Fideo (Vermicelli, Mexican style) you will really like this place! We had the flat cheese enchiladas with fideo and the queso enchiladas...didn't disappoint! Free chips and salsa. Also they have a small patio with a few tables, patios are important these days! Friendly staff!

Chili rellleno, chicken soft taco, homemade beans and brown rice with lentils. THAT is nutrition + taste on a plate!

Richard's is our family favorite for Mexican restaurants. Good quality food. The chicken enchiladas with green chile are the greatest.

Just because it is in the IPCC don't think the food isn't good. I would come to the Indian Pueblo Kitchen even as a stand alone location. Every dish has an inspiration from Pueblo cuisine. For example, horno bread with the stews, indian tacos, and the pies are prepared as a Pueblo would. This time I had the indian taco. Quite tasty and the bread soaks up all the flavors from the toppings. The pie isn't overly sweet. All good. Enjoy local native flavor here.

The menu initially sounded creative, especially the waffles featuring pepitas, quinoa, and blue corn, which led me to assume that the same thoughtful use of ingredients would carry throughout the rest of the menu. The blue corn enchiladas were the clear highlight and were genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the red sauce served alongside them tasted noticeably canned. I had hoped for a fresh, house-made sauce that would complement the quality of the enchiladas. The calabacitas were also barely seasoned and could have benefited from much more flavor. The eggs Benedict was disappointing. The addition of a sausage patty made it feel more like a typical American breakfast than the regional and authentic dish I had expected. Many of the available sides were also potato-based, mainly hash browns or French fries, which made the menu feel less varied and imaginative. The blue corn porridge was acceptable, and the generous amount of berries helped bring the dish together, but the porridge itself could have been much more flavorful. There is plenty of potential here, particularly if more attention were given to fresh sauces, seasoning, regional ingredients, and a wider variety of side dishes. The service was good, and the meal overall was fine, but based on my experience, it was not distinctive enough to justify making a special trip.

Ordered cold beer and cocktails after we were seated inside Lotsa flies.....we get it....pretty much an open-air restaurant this time of year They did set a spinner on our table which helped. I had the house special chili ribs and the ribs aren't flavorful. There is no distinctive taste to these ribs but chilied. But since the chili is tasteless themselves, it doesn't contribute to the overall flavor of the ribs anyway. 2/5 Stuff sopadillas with beef is very large and filling. For the lunch menu, the price is rather affordable for how much food I ordered. The tastes? I can't tell because it is comparable to any other restaurants. Nothing really stands out to me. 4/5 The regular sopadilla with honey as a side dish is amazing and you can't really go wrong with sopadilla and honey 5/5. Chips and salsa is continuously refilled as requested. Overall service is average, with water refill being done per request, not automatically. I personally would take tourists here to experience the cute vibe of New Mexico that this restaurant gives: a cute brunch with the ladies, a nice hang out and gathering with friends.

I was impressed with the wide array of vegan "proteins" including tofu (grilled or fried), soy curls, homemade seitan, calabacitas, and avocado. It comes with 1-2 proteins and I added a third so I could try the grilled tofu, the grilled soy curls, and the seitan. It was hard to tell what was what with so many things in there - probably should have gotten an extra side of one of the proteins instead. Nevertheless everything was incredible.
