I just had the best dinner ever in Risen, Bakery & Grill. I had two friends so we ordered different meals and shared together. The Kufta, chicken shawerma and falafel were so so delicious. The Hummos and other sauces were the best that I had anywhere else. The falafel with the warm in-house baked bread were the best! Amany, the owner treated us like we were guests in her house! She was so kind and generous and served us with love and generosity I haven't experienced in any restaurant before. I tell you, if you want good authentic Egyptian Falafel go to Risen, Bakery & Grill. We were so full and happy but we could not pass her Baklawa!! Just heavenly, not too sweet but just right! It just gave us that sweetness that really made the dinner so much satisfying! I noticed a new desert she had there and when I asked about it she offered us a piece for the three of us to share. We thought we are so full that we can't add anything more. But when we took a little bite each just to taste it, we couldn't stop before we finished it all. That desert is "basbousa". You should try it. Don't miss out. I recommend that restaurant for a casual family setting, at a generous family owned and run place. Everything there is like a home made food just for you. Although I feel the price is a little high I think it's a good treat to come here occasionally I Always get the chicken shawarma plate with extra garlic paste you also get delicious yellow rice side salad and various pickled veggies, awesome for lunch. sometimes the pita bread is to chewy but overall I'd say great for a quick fresh lunch while in that area. read more

Nice little Mediterranean spot, you can tell the place is new, convenient parking. Staff were really nice. It was more of a fast food style place where the food were served on trays and togo containers. The menu was small not too many options but everything looked good. Food was delicious, we had the breakfast burrito and fillet minion kabab, they were both good and juicy. Portions are a bit small in my opinion but still filled us up. Excellent service! I'd been meaning to try them out for a bit as they are down the street from my house. I came in one day and got some dessert with a promise to try them for breakfast... yesterday I ordered the French Breakfast Croissant it was fresh and tasty. Although with the lettuce it tastes more like lunch than a breakfast item. I also grabbed a cup of their (very hot) Coffee. There is seating outside as well as inside and I would recommend having a cup of coffee with the San Sebastian Cheesecake which is lighter than the regular cheesecake. I saw that this opened up recently and wanted to try it. I got a combo plate ($21.75) which came with a side of salad and a choice of garlic spread or hummus with two skewers of meat on top of rice. I got chicken and kofta for my skewers. The salad was crispy with plenty of dressing. The chicken was moist and seasoned nicely. The kofta was strong with the lamb taste, very juicy and seasoned well. I also chose their San Sebastian cheesecake ($7.23), super sweet and a bit small. My husband and I was craving for Mediterranean food so we decided to try here due to great reviews. I phoned in the order in advance hoping to be able to just go in and out. I ordered the Filet Mignon Kabob plate and Chicken Kabob plate. Upon arrival, the parking lot in the front is small but should have additional parking in the back. Also, as you walk inside it's small as well. There are additional seating outside but not a whole lot. It felt really cramped inside though. There was quite a bit of wait to be assisted by the employee. The employee did acknowledge and apologized multiple times regarding the wait. It seems like there is only one person working the register. Once I got home to try the food, they were delicious and flavorful. However, it was quite expensive for just 1 skewer for the plate. It's actually cheaper for me to go to John's Kabob. Also, when I was at home I end up noticing the receipt shows an extra .72 cents charge for the Filet Mignon Kabob plate & extra .64 cents charge for Chicken Kabob plate which I don't understand why it was more than what the menu pricing showed. Even though the staff was friendly and the food was delicious, I personally wouldn't come here again due to the pricing for the amount of food you get, wait time, additional charge on the food that conflicted the menu pricing, and how cramp inside was. read more

Would have loved to place my order ahead since I assumed the food was made fresh to order... which it was, a 20 min wait to be exact. It's priced accurately for fresh food! The food was really good (minus the salad... something about the salad dressing just was not good to me). The garlic paste (which is usually my favorite) had a strong kick & flavor that didn't go away... not in a bad way, just an unusual way. Anyways, the paste got a second best to the hummus. Enter Risen Bakery and Grill, which we found while specifically searching for homemade pitas. They did not disappoint! So fluffy and delicious! Tons of rice, 4 falafels on top of that, and an ok amount of hummus. The pita bread was not fresh- came out cold already and seemed it was maybe not freshly made, as it was a tad on the tough side. Seating-wise, It's on the smaller side inside, so if you have a larger party, there are only two medium sized tables and the rest are small stools or you can maybe put some tables together in the patio area. You could sub the salad for their yummy delicious garlic spread. His beef was nice and juicy and they give 3 cubes of chicken and 3 cubes of beef. I ordered the Kofta plate and it had 2 nice generous portions of Kofta. My meat was perfectly cooked and juicy. Chicken kabob lunch plate was a good bang for the buck at $15. 1 skewer of chicken, ton of rice, side salad and pickled veggies, garlic paste which is better than Zankou, and a soft drink. Ended up getting the San Sebastian cheesecake while I waited around after finishing the entree. My mom got a falafel wrap and I got a chicken kabob plate and we split a side of hummus. All of the food was cooked perfect with so much flavor and was presented beautifully! The hummus is fresh and flavorful, the chicken kabob was moist and not dry, the salad, rice, and pickled vegetables were delicious and the portions were so large I was able to split mine into two different meals.
