UPDATE: Ron fixed my vehicle, it appeared to be a faulty new part. I appreciate them fix the issue, it took me calling them several times. The biggest issue was the communication. No one told me the hours they put into working on my vehicle to get it working until I talked to Ron himself. Very disappointed. I have been a loyal customer of there's for about 5 years, letting all my friends and family know this is the place to go. I have always brought them all my cars even brought them my 56 Chevy to be worked on. I was hooked the first time I ever went there they cleared my codes on my car for free. Fast forward to now the last two experiences let a sour taste in my mouth. I have a code reader and I already knew what the issue was a misfire in cylinder 2. So I let them know this is the issue the vehicle is jerking. RNS let's me know yes so we have to change spark plugs and coil packs for atleast 3 cylinders and I order to do that they have to take manifold off and change that gasket. They told me it would cost about $730 to do all the work. I was like ok I get it is a big job. So RNS does the job they call and say that will be $890.00, I was like wait what how did it go up in price. RNS says oh tax's and gave me a list of about four different shop fees after doing math it still never made sense. After priying they said oh and we notice air filter was dirty so we changed it with out asking and decided to charge you for it without letting you know. RNS said to me we also notice your bumper was loose so they related they secured it for me (I am thinking yay that is the RNS I know) fast forward to pick up they drilled two wood screws in to my body that will rust. I never gave them permission to damage the outside of my body with woods screws that is not how to properly secure a bumper. On top of seeing other scratch marks on the bumper. They also told me that my battery needs to be changed and they could do it for 160$ because it is the wrong battery. Negative I bought that battery at oreillys and verified it is the right battery. (Shady) What ever at this point I just decide to pay and take my car. Half way home the check engine light goes on and it starts shaking again (Problem not fixed). I take it back to RNS they clear the code and tell me they don't notice the issue, I come back after they are closed and start my car it is still shaking and before I make it to Kaapa quarry the check engine light is on again. Same issue they supposedly fixed. I am so disappointed I don't know what happened to this once great shop that has now went down hill I do not have time to run my car back in fourth to them any more I have a 2 jobs and 2 kids and they never answer the phone. I guess it goes to say if you want something done right do it your self I am no longer sending anyone I know back here. Ron what is going on with your shop.

I'd like to start off by mentioning the great things I experienced. The team working on my truck…read morewas extremely knowledgeable and patient throughout the process. My partner received pictures and updates along the way, and I truly appreciated the communication, especially since they had my truck overnight. One challenge was how narrow the entrance is when pulling in, but thankfully that wasn't too much of an issue during drop-off. My experience ended up being 4 stars because I paid $704 for diagnostics and a transmission fluid service, only to be told that the transmission issues would likely continue over time. The recommendation given was that replacing the vehicle might be a better option if we didn't want to continue investing money into the truck. Afterward, I reached back out to ask for a quote on either rebuilding or replacing the transmission so I could better understand my options. Unfortunately, I've waited quite a while without receiving a response. At this point, even after spending the money on the diagnostics and service, the truck is still undrivable and sitting in a parking lot while I continue paying for a rental car. I completely understand that transmission work can be complicated, and I am grateful they were able to inspect my truck since I don't know much about transmissions myself. When I first brought the truck in, I also mentioned an issue with my taillight. I was initially told it would be added to the diagnostics at the end, but it was never looked at. I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $185 just to diagnose the taillight issue. At that point, I decided to simply pick up the truck. The communication was excellent from start to finish while the vehicle was actively being worked on, but as a returning customer, I do feel disappointed that I haven't received any follow-up regarding the transmission quote. I'm hoping someone from the team can reach back out soon so I can better understand what my next steps and costs may be.

I went on Yelp and submitted a new project for my vehicle's repair. Neue was one of a few shops…read morethat replied and had availability. They were upfront about their diagnostic fee of $185 plus tax. I needed a new alternator, belt, and battery for my 2006 RAV4. I asked for a rough estimate so I could compare it to a few other shops, and they told me $400-$600 for parts and labor. After reading other positive reviews, I decided to have my car towed from Kaneohe to this shop. The drop-off went smoothly, and I received a call shortly after with two quotes. The first quote was $2,075 to replace the alternator, belt, and battery, and the second was $3,200 to also fix an oil leak in the engine. This is an older vehicle, and the quote was 4-5 times higher than what was originally estimated. I decided to pay the $185 diagnostic fee and take my car to a different shop. After calling around to a few smaller shops, they told me this specific car requires more labor because the radiator has to be removed. However, they said it should cost between $1,000-$1,300 at most. I ended up going to a local shop, and they completed the repairs for $1,150. They also checked for an oil leak and found nothing. This shop not only bait-and-switched me on pricing but also tried to get me to pay an extra $1,200 for a repair I didn't need. I would give 0 stars if I could and will be telling family and friends to avoid this shop, as they are not honest. UPDATE: 04/16/26 I uploaded a picture of the Yelp message coming directly from your company, so you can't call me a liar. 'If you can't produce this, what you're saying isn't just false, it's libel.' That is a direct quote from you. I also wasn't looking for the cheapest repair, I was looking for a fair quote. After visiting your shop I called three different shops and you quoted roughly twice the amount that they did. So I went with a shop that priced right in the middle and had good reviews. It's also interesting that you didn't mention your $1,200 quote for an oil leak that didn't exist. Your pricing is your pricing I just wish you were upfront about it or provided me with a more realistic quote. The shop I went to used all brand-new parts but sold them at cost rather than upcharging their customers. That business has been around for over 30 years, so it's surprising that you would resort to insulting their credibility rather than owning up to your mistake and making things right. Thank you for further proving my point about why people should avoid your shop. Maybe this isn't the experience for everyone, but as a first impression, it guaranteed that I won't be returning. Best of luck with your business.

I never write reviews as I really would like to understand people's perspective before writing…read morereviews but me and my ohana are sadly disappointed with our recent services here in Kaneohe Auto Care. We have gotten our cars changed here back then and they used to be good. But now they're rude and have no aloha, only looking for profit and overpricing things. I am not sure if they all just had a bad day, but I tried my best to be really understanding at first. Our earlier experiences over the years were good and we decided that we will stick with Kaneohe Auto Care as they seemed like good ohana and we would like to support them. But our recent 2 experiences changed our view of them. Our recent first experience here was good besides overpriced tires, they promised to give us Falken tires but after the tires and repairs have been done, they told us they weren't able to and changed our tires to MIDAX instead, lying that they were a far more superior brand instead while overcharging us on the tires by $200. After a week, the car had problems again and Kaneohe Auto Care failed to identify an oil leak and oil filter problem which we had gotten checked at another place. When I told them the girl in the front said, "Well what do you want us to do about it?" in a rude tone. On our recent second experience to get our car diagnosed they gave us a set price of $1600 for some car repairs. I also noticed when I first came in, when one of the mechanic was on the phone he was pretty rude to the person in the phone. After confirming again, they were very rude on the phone complaining about the repairs on the car, telling us that we're asking for a lot of repairs after we had already discussed what the diagnostics and the repairs of the car would be, giving us a set price of $1600. After a couple of hours, I decided to call them again thinking maybe they just had a bad day which is why they were rude on the phone and in person, not even making eye contact and ignoring questions I asked multiple times. After thinking about trying to understand them, I called them again to confirm the services and the price -- but to my surprise the person I was talking to wasn't the same girl I talked to in the first place -- it was a man with the same voice that was rude earlier to another customer on the phone. Right from the start of the call, I said Aloha, confirming the repairs and costs, but he was rude right off the bat. He increased the price, overpricing it $1000+ higher than even the Honda dealership here in Windward, and it did not even cover all the car's problems. After discussing with ohana and experiencing that, we decided not to go and just decided on the safety check and oil change after KAC switched our price from $1600 (we had discussed all repairs already and which repairs would be done) but then they changed their mind, doubling the price to over $3000 after giving us a set price of $1600 while Honda ngave us a price of $1900. I tried to be very understanding and polite but the man I talked to was very rude as I kept thinking to myself to try and understand he may have had a bad day and that we're all ohana on the island. We decided not to get the car fixed by them. I came in and while talking and they did not even look at me in the eyes while talking and were ignoring my questions, telling me to sign on the paper instead for the oil change and safety check which costed $140 ($70 was labor). We were looking to have a great service, especially after our cars broke down and the hurricanes on the island have led to many problems only to be met with this kind of service. Where is the aloha? Now they're only looking for profit even higher than the honda dealerships which we originally switched from as honda has usually high prices. I always support local businesses here in Hawaii as I grew up here. But after the service here in KAC me and my ohana will sadly never be going here again. They will find different ways to overcharge you in other ways to make a profit and my first experiences from back then may have been good but multiple recent experiences proved they changed.

Either way, with over 200k miles on it, it was going to be (hopefully) less expensive to swap the engine. I called around and Rockys miraculously said they had a used engine that just came in, and they could work on it later in the week. Unfortunately, if turned out that the engine wasn't exactly compatible. To try to make a very long story short, I ended up leaving my truck there for almost 2 months. I had to order am engine from the mainland that took 1 month to arrive. Once it did, they worked on it right away, and it was done within a week. They did have to change out several items from it, for to is age, but I finally got it back, and it's working great. The overall cost was a bit higher than expected, but it is what it is. The only reason for not giving them 5 stars is for to the fact that they didn't realize that they didn't have a compatible engine in the beginning, so I wasted 3 weeks, and spent over $600 in car rental fees, before finding out they didn't have a compatible one, and I needed to order an engine. At least the work is done, my truck is running great, and they were very responsive the entire time. They do great work.
