Fix up your service!! Had made reservations for happy hour, HH patio, when we came they told because of rain if want to move to the other patio as there were no people sitting in HH patio, we said yes, there were two hostess, one of them took us to the table, and I asked if we can order from HH menu, she told we can as it was them who moved us to the non HH patio, and she dint give any HH menu, no one checked us for 15mins, then we had to flag down the hostess(not the one who seated us), and asked for HH menu, she told as it's not HH patio, we can't do HH, when we told the other hostess told we can, and she was no we can't. So we just got up and walked out, because of the way she spoke and treated us, so rude, unprofessional. If the manager or whoever see this review, fix up your service and teach a bit of to be respectful towards customers to your host, there are N number of restaurants in Austin with decent service and food. Fyi, my husband told they should call and let us know about it, and the arrogant host told she called we dint pick, I dint pick when they called, well she hadn't left any voicemail like normal restaurants do but I still called back and the person who picked the call told, our reservation is confirmed, maybe they would've called by mistake or to confirm reservation, I told her I called back, and her response I dint get your call. read more

Love this place, we take relatives or friends visiting here. Lovely view of the water and lots of seating indoor and outdoor including a widespread bar top. Service is always phenomenal and they have a large parking lot as well! We ordered the fish tacos, guacamole, some margaritas, mussels, and salmon. Everything was great! Salmon is oak roasted and has incredible flavor to it. Their happy hour is 4-630 S-Thur and they even offer it a couple hours of Fri-Sat as well. Food: 10/10 Mussels and Chorizo: 10/10. The mussels tasted soooo good with the sauce. It was seasoned so well. The chorizo was a bit hard to find at first, but easier once most of the mussels were gone. The bread was perfect to dip into the remaining sauce. 8 oz. Center Cut Filet Mignon: 10/10. I ordered the filet medium, and it came perfectly made. It tasted so good and juicy - perfectly cooked! Sautéed Asparagus: 9/10. Very simple and needed some vegetables with my filet mignon. It tasted pretty good! Mashed Potatoes: 10/10. These were seasoned so well, and cooked very well! It had such a good texture and was presented well. This paired perfectly to the filet mignon and sautéed asparagus. Wine: I was iffy on choosing between two glasses of wine, and the waiter happily offered me to sample them both, which was very nice! :) Service: 10/10. We had a big group, and the server patiently took each of our orders and answered any questions we had. He also made sure to periodically check up on us, especially since we were on the outside patio. Ambiance: 10/10. This place is so nice and bougie. The patio had such nice views - we were able to watch the sunset as we ate. Extra notes: This place is definitely pretty pricey, so come if you want to spend some money! Roaring Fork is probably one of the most commonly mentioned restaurants in Austin--not that everyone has to go but it's just a famous "chain" of steakhouses. I had high expectations, but I was severely let down. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was really kind and attentive, and she was also helpful in giving us advice on what to order. My co-workers and I weren't very hungry, so we opted for family style. The mussels are horrible. Don't get them. They're incredible bland, and the sauce that they're soaked in is so watery. The dish comes with a few pieces of crunchy and dry bread, and they were soaking in this bland and watery sauce for so long that the bread turned soggy and wet. The mussels themselves were also really small. Truffle fries were pretty good. I thought the crispiness and texture were on point, and the aioli was yummy. For how expensive their steak is, I honestly thought it would be more flavorful. Overall, the vibes of Roaring Fork were just off. It's weirdly dark without any of the luxury feel of a steakhouse, but I'm not even entirely sure they're going for that. It almost feels more like a Texas Roadhouse with white tablecloth and high prices than an actual steakhouse. read more

Tortilla Soup - I am not a soup customer, but you guys made this well. Huckleberry Cheesecake - Thanks for the complimentary dessert for our anniversary, we appreciated it. Atmosphere - Nice, large, and classy space. Do you guys have outdoor dining? That will take this place to the next level. Bathrooms were also very spacious with a bench, which I usually hear, only exists in the women's restrooms. Sunday night, I guess everyone is out dining; so parking was a challenge. Service - Good. My waiter was training a new employee, which we did not mind, but it did seem to affect/distract him from giving us the best service. Price - $70 Owner Suggestion - Keep up the good work. The food is average, but service generally sucks! I was nice in my last review, but every time I go here the service is disappointing. As soon as you enter, you are not even greeted. The hostess looks upset and sometimes doesn't even look up at you. They sit you in their main dining room even if it's happy hour and you cannot order from their happy hour menu unless you are on the other side. It makes no sense. I asked to be moved to the other side and they made us wait for a long time just to go "check." For an establishment that tries to present themselves as high end, they need to do better! We ordered special drinks from the bar menu -- disappointing. Service was very slow. It was more like a chain restaurant vibe -- no relationship with our waitstaff. He had rotisserie chicken with Brussels sprouts and stuffing: warning, the Brussels sprouts are minuscule and the stuffing is incredibly sweet. I had the seabass -- it was fine, good, even, and served with a whopping 4 spears of asparagus. I doubt we will return. read more

It has fancy, high-end vibes, so perfect for anniversaries, birthday or even good for business meeting I would say. They have great selection for appetizers, salad, grill and desserts as well. We visited on Thursday which they have a 50% off deal when ordering a bottle of wine, so of course we got a bottle (I'm a wine lover!) We started off with caesar salad which we thought the salad dressing was pefrect, also got steak mushroom, pork tomahawk as well as ribeye steak. This Roaring Fork is absolutely going on my list of Favorites! First, I love the location, with water views, spacious and open multiple dinning rooms, both inside and out, generous & comfortable booths; plenty of parking and easily accessible from the Domain & the highway. Second, the service was amazing, from getting seated immediately to our kind, thoughtful, and friendly server, Celeste. Finally the food, we ordered the chicken flat bread and guacamole which were delectable. We both had the big ass burger which seriously was the biggest burger I ever saw, tasted as good as it looked with truffle fries...OMG, it was beyond generous and delicious. I actually couldn't finish it so brought it home and will have it for dinner tomorrow...can't wait to go back there and try some of their other dishes. read more

We amazingly had a decent night to sit outside at roaring fork. They do have commercial fans which made it very pleasant. We had a party of ten and food was plated as a table and presentation and flavor of apps (flatbread pizza and ceviche) and entrees was excellent. I had the trout which was very good. This may be a small item, but what really distinguishes better restaurant experiences from standard is in the wait staff. We had a young guy who was pleasant and aware of the table needs but could not open or pour wine without spilling it. Further when you have 6 people drinking wine, you tend to pour the glasses out more modestly. He was filling glasses up like it was ice tea. This is where management needs to provide food service training. Most early 20's staff would not inherently know this. read more

The weather was nice, so their outdoor seating overlooking the lake sounded like a great idea for a dinner date. Food was good, but not great. For an appetizer, we tried their Queso Con Pierce which was surprisingly good with just the right amount of spices. My ribeye was cooked perfect medium-rare with a lot of flavor, but my wife's medium filet came out a little on the rare side in the center likely due to how thick the cut was. The mashed potatoes were recommended as a side, but they were nothing to write home about: the texture just right, but they needed more flavor. The street corn tasted great, but was very rich, so be careful of over ordering like we did. Drinks were hit and miss. The house mule had way too much citrus. The old fashioned however was what you would expect. The service was friendly, but seemed to disappear for long periods of time, which normally I don't mind, but I noticed when she didn't check back in after we got food, so my wife went ahead and ate around the center of her steak. I suspect we will come back again. For work, this is on the short list places we take customers for the upscale experience and atmosphere for what it's worth. Best filet I've had in a while. Perfectly seasoned. We were there as a party of 8 and shared several sides. My favorite was the Mexican street corn. The mashed potatoes were good too. I had the Founders Margarita and Old Fashioned for drinks and both were tasty. They have fun monogrammed ice cubes! It gave me an idea for a Christmas gift! Finished up with warm pecan pie that comes with Amy's butter pecan ice cream...yummmmm. Our service was super slow. Nothing short of amazing. You walk in to the beautiful smell of a wood fire in the kitchen. After my visit there, I told all my friends that the wood grilled pork chop on the menu is the best on planet earth. I had to walk that back since I've only been to two other countries besides the U.S., but I'm sticking to that statement. They didn't skimp on the drinks, and the service was outstanding. Roaring fork is one of my staple restaurants to go for special events and celebrations. I have even been here just to pick up the Green Mac n cheese to go. It is hands down a must every time I visit. The stuffing is also one of my favorite sides. I usually get either fish tacos or Red snapper plank. Everyone I have ever taken has loved this place. I don't know why I haven't made a review here before (maybe because I figure iykyk). My husband and I love Roaring Fork as an option for special occasions or a nice date night. The service is always on point and we have never had a bad meal. This year we had our 11th wedding anniversary dinner here and it did not disappoint. We started with an old fashioned and the Empress cocktail. My husband loves the old fashioned and the Empress was ok. We started with the iceberg BLT salad split in half and the lump crabcake. Both were the perfect amount for sharing and tasty. Next we shared the 50 day aged ribeye cooked medium rare with green Chile Mac and cheese, Mexican street corn, mashed potatoes and fried Brussels sprouts. The steak had amazing flavor, though next time we will probably do medium instead. All the sides were great choices and shareable size. To finish we had a complimentary creme brûlée (we honestly giggled at the writing on the plate because what does that even say ) and cappuccinos which you cannot go wrong with. I travel a lot for work..and I eat a lot because I like to eat! LOL let me start my review with the fact the my favorite sliders are at a little lounge in Indy over a very famous steakhouse. That was until I had the filet sliders at Roaring Fork. Two weeks later, I'm still thinking about them. It makes me sad that I don't know when I'll be back in Austin because we no longer have an office there. I'm literally planning a trip just to come to Roaring Fork, for the sliders. Don't even know if I'll try anything else. LOL There's plenty of parking in the large parking lot, but it is a very popular restaurant, so you probably want to make reservations. It's the type of restaurant that you can go for lunch, dinner or a special occasion and it fits all the needs. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was the service. I sat at the bar, as I typically do. And I probably was the only person by myself. However, I had to stop one of the bartenders to get anything, including placing my order, getting my water and to pay my bill. Not one time did they ask how my food was or if I needed anything else. I'm going to chalk it to they were unexpectedly busy at 5pm, but I'm not 100% sure that was the issue. Since this was my first time, I'm hoping that was it. If I can get back to Austin, we'll see how the next visit goes! read more

Roaring Fork is an elegant but casual New American eatery in north Austin and offers a "lakeside" dining experience. The first time our group ate here on the covered patio and despite the emergence of a sudden thunderstorm, we enjoyed our meal. This restaurant is definitely on the upscale side and perfect for a date night spot. Inside is cozy with dim lighting and outside you have a nice view of a small lake. The food Happy hour sliders - decent size, flavorful Double dip (queso and a pork dip) - so good. I could've eaten this whole thing as my dinner! Truffle fries - just fine. Too much truffle oil in my opinion Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin - pretty good. The sides it comes with made this dish. Bone in pork chop - HUGE and tasty.
