The inside is so cute and lots of outdoor seating with a great view of the giant TV screen on the lawn. The baked goat cheese was delicious, but I would prefer if it came with crostini/bread instead of the very thin tortilla pieces. We ran out of tortilla and ended up eating the dip with a spoon because it was so yummy. The parmigiano fried chicken was cooked PERFECTLY - crispy, crunchy and juicy, but it was very heavy and could have done well with a size of marinara to cut the richness. Our first time at Roca & Martillo, our party of seven was celebrating a birthday. I left hungry and disappointed. Ambiance and service-good. The price point is acceptable. The food is the cause for this rating. Appetizers-the meatballs were good, the pulled mozzarella ok, and the octopus was chewy and not good. The mixed field greens salad was good. Entrees-the pan roasted ribeye had a nice crust but no flavor, the crispy potatoes were roasted (not crispy) and bland, the asparagus was nicely grilled. I could not eat the steak or potatoes. They were just bad. The cast iron seared filet entree was the same as the ribeye. The rigatoni pomodoro sauce was overpoweringly cheesy and not good. The smoked brisket lasagna was ok. The parmigiano fried chicken was plentiful, but had melted cheese covering a beautiful crust. The child chicken tenders was good. After feeling a bit disappointed the first time we went, we returned to experience exactly what we were hoping for! The Caesar salad had bold, peppery flavor on super fresh romaine lettuce and house made croutons,; the duck confit on house made pasta was creamy and delicious; the garlic bread service... Oh my goodness! Grilled bread with lots of good garlic flavor, without being overwhelming. These were lots of flavorful items that went very well together. This experience makes me want to go back and try some more. This is twice now that the wait staff was very polite. Ethan kept us informed of the status of our meal and made sure that everything was brought out in a timely manner. The restaurant is just beautiful, very trendy looking, bright windows, a view, no matter where you sit. Was highly disappointed by the food at this new place! We ordered a couple of appetizers and the bread service to start- crab dip, meatballs, & bread. The appetizers were fine, the bread was good but a bit too much with the saltiness and cheese/garlic on top. For entrees, all I can say is everything was super salty. All 3 of our courses. The brisket lasagna was subpar, and maybe a little tooo smoky? We also ordered the bolognese and the duck confit pasta dishes and both were extremely salty, almost inedible. Desserts were meh and one of them was pretty gross. We got the Nutella dessert and the bruleed tart. The tart was salty and tasted more like warm funky cheese than a dessert. It was not good. I will say, the service was good and our server was kind. However for a couple hundred dollars I expect better food than this. I'm not sure how this place will stay open in the long run. read more

We had dinner reservations at 5:30 on a Friday evening for a purpose, as our niece had to get to a volleyball practice at 7:30. We went to celebrate our 17 year old nephews birthday. We were seated on the 2nd floor of the restaurant which had nice views of the grounds. Again it was 5:30 so no one was dining that early, in fact there was one other couple downstairs having an early dinner. First let me say the staff was incredible, the food was incredible, but the amount of time that it took to get our food was terrible. With 4 adults we opted for the Family Style Per Tutti Noi for a set price of 55.00 dollars per person. The choices were amazing....the order of food brought out was crazy.....salad first, then appetizers, then some entrees, one of the main entrees there fried chicken we had to take it to go as it took so long to prepare. My nephew ordered a filet mignon steak and he had to send it back as it was rare. We took so much food home, all our deserts since half of our dinner party had left and we couldn't enjoy it as a family. With all the disorganization, one of the managers came by our table to apologize and advise us they would discount our dinner, which was highly appreciated, but that's not the point. We were there early enough to enjoy the atmosphere and food....and that didn't happen. As we were leaving the elevator went out....so we had to take the stairs located in the back area of the patio. I'd like to go back bc the food itself was very good.....hoping the kitchen gets their act together soon. read more

I ran into the cool Chef Jason Dady at the SA Flavor event, and he told me about his new restaurant, so I went to go check it out & show some support for the new place. It was very busy so we weren't able to get in for dinner, but we went later on after the rush, and WOW what a cool venue!!! There's games and a splash pad outside, plenty of space & chairs for families & pets to hangout outside! They had the hacky-sack toss game, outdoor large Connect-4 game, and a giant screen TV outside. There's an outdoor bar cabana area, as well as a rooftop bar on top of the main restaurant. My friend and I enjoyed a glass of wine & the white chocolate crème brûlée with berries dessert. Our server Bella was great & attentive. But the real standout is the food; the Bourbon-Honey Texas Bobwhite Quail is a must-order, with tender, flavorful meat that just falls off the bone. Went to Roca & Martello for date night and husbands birthday tonight. It was such a nice dining experience thanks to our server Brian. He was top notch! We had onion rings that came with a tomato jam and a spicy aioli. Then we split the Cesar salad, the brisket lasagna and topped it off with the brûlée cheesecake. My wife and I went out to Roca & Martillo for the first time today and I have to say that we had a great experience. The ambience was so relaxing. The food and drinks were great. We had their charcuterie board, it was delicious and filling. The onion rings were also were delicious. I had the filet. It was a good cook, however, our amazing bartender suggested a pairing of their sauces which totally complimented the steak. My family went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thought it was an upscale restaurant. Atmosphere was nice but very casual. Our server was great. We were disappointed in the food given it is a Jason Dady restaurant. We tried the parmagiano fried chicken (basically chicken fried chicken with white parmagian gravy) which was the best of the 4 dishes, but average, Lasagna had cheap tomato sauce and bolognese was mid. The veal scallopini was the most disappointing. The veal was heavily breaded and tough. At least 1/3 of the breading had no meat. I dont know if they topped with the wrong gravy or if the beurre blanc sauce was just made very poorly. It was a bland white gravy that didn't pair well with the red onions and capers. Shared the blondie for dessert. The reduced balsamic was a good idea but it wasn't reduced well enough for the sweet flavor and still tasted like vinegar. But food was horrible - ordered tuna and it the worst I ever had - it was very well done with tons of salt . Service was not good - the waitress was so lazy . I asked bartender for whiskey or bourbon menu - she said look at yourself . It was so far and high I could not see any bottle names . I said forget about it and had a beer . We chose to go here instead of Renzos which is our usual spot. We were very disappointed with our experience. We went on a Saturday night. The restaurant is next to an event center which was extremely loud. No parking for restaurant guests. We ordered crab dip and only had 6 small triangles of Bread. We asked for more and were charged $3.95 for a few measly pieces to finish our dip. I order a grey goose martini straight up and was served lukewarm in a high ball glass with a couple of olives, never ever had a martini served as such. Filet was very good and Parmesan chicken was good. Server did her best but even she was embarrassed by the food and drink presentation. Overall don't waste your time. We had a fabulous dinner Tuesday night at Roca and Martillo's when four of us celebrated two wedding anniversaries. We chose the Per Tutti Noi family style meal. Our fabulous server Kassandra warned us that "it's a lot of food. I can package up whatever you don't eat for you to take home." We tried 10, different items, and every one of them appealed to at least one of us. We were so full after the starters and pasta dishes, that not everyone even tried the entrees. However, everyone rebounded to eat dessert, both the cheesecake and Nutella torte were fabulous. Favorites were the Caesar salad, fresh mozzarella and bread, meatballs, Arancini, and fried chicken. We enjoyed exceptional, personable service from Kassandra, who was one of the best servers our group has had for a while. We took two, full bags of food home and have been working on the leftovers for two days, making this one of the most reasonably priced excellent meals we have enjoyed in recent memory. Restaurant ambiance is sort of classic industrial bistro style. Concrete floors, which made the restaurant a bit noisy for those with hearing problems; nice wall art and overall a comfortable space. If i could rate this place a 0 instead of a 1 I would. However, Yelp requires you to put at least 1 star. The Bolognese pasta tasted like hamburger helper and the portion sizes for the children were larger than the adult sizes. The children's drinks were $5.00 for less than half a can of soda. Unfortunately I did hear a curse word amongst the staff and was very disappointed. None of the food tasted good so I left out of dissatisfaction and went to another restaurant. This is definitely not a child friendly restaurant and I will not be returning again. This place did not feel like a family friendly restaurant and the staff as I was leaving sounded uninviting and rude. read more
