Rocket Sushi just opened recently so decided to stop by to check it out. The experience was a pleasant surprise! You sit down in booths with iPads at the end on which to order. The menu was massive and had a lot of variety. The food then arrives by NASA-themed rockets. Found the NASA theme pretty funny but overall an awesome experience. A fun take on more traditional conveyor belt sushi. We got some miso soups and a few different rolls. The fish was fresh and the rolls tasty. This place was so much fun, but even better than that, the quality of the sushi was amazing. My husband can be picky about his sushi quality but we needed dinner on Labor day. They were able to seat us right away. Ordering was easy and self explanatory, and the prices were decent for good quality sushi. There was a discount for dine-in which was cool, maybe to draw in more attention after being hit with the pandemic. Ordering on the tablet was a bit confusing- we didn't know if our order went through and we just sat there for the longest time thinking our food was going to come until we asked an employee for clarification. Darn technology sometimes! It was very exciting to see the little rocket deliver our sushi rolls and even more shocking when I saw that it was a double decker system! We ordered the tempura mushrooms, regular sashimi plate (12pc chefs choice), and the black angel roll. Ugh everything was so good! the fish was super fresh and melts in your mouth. The black angel roll was what sold me but I don't see it on their menu anymore ;( The tempura mushrooms were also a favorite of mine. Perfectly fried and well seasoned batter. So glad to see another business open during the pandemic. I ordered takeout initially however upon walking up to the covid-safe pickup area I saw cute tables with new centerpieces and a fence to create a bit of space on a busy stretch of Market Street. Kitty the host was lovely and more than happy to convert my meal to on-site outdoor dining. The 10 piece omakase was higher quality than it needed to be for the price, in particular the hamachi with the thin cross-section of jalapeño and roe. Each slice of fish was generous and these were not cheaper end-cuts. The miso soup and unagi also didn't disappoint. The soft-shelled crab (can you dominate a species more than eat their adolescents?) was a great starter that I've been craving for a while (read: always). Also, yes, I over-ordered. And, yes, I ate everything. Sounds like beers and other drinks are on the way soon, they're awaiting their license. On a warm night, having an outdoor meal here will be great. The host offered to bring out a heater so it seems like they'll be prepped for cooler ones, too. It's actually pretty peculiar that it's so hard to eat outdoors on Market. Came here on a Sunday to satisfy my sushi cravings. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I really like their concept of having your food delivered on a rocket ! They have a tablet at each table and you basically just order from the tablet and your food will be dropped off to you on a rocket ship! We ordered the Chef Roll, Dragon Roll, King California Roll (real crab meat), Tempura platter and Chicken Karaage. I really really loved the Chef roll because you get a bit of everything; it has waygu beef on top and salmon, crab meat, and avocado on the inside. I like to try my sushi roll without wasabi and soy sauce on the first bites just to see how they taste and the chef roll definitely does not need wasabi and soy sauce because it's good on its own. The Dragon roll was also really delicious, I personally enjoy rolls with lots of toppings. The staff was also really attentive and nice despite having to take care of many Togo orders, too. Their rolls were good, too and I like that they don't drenched them with excessive sauces. Kudos to their chicken kaarage and udon. I was not expecting this fresh sashimi and flavorful rolls from a neighborhood restaurant. I love the dragon Rolland XXX roll most. The dragon roll has eel sauce on it with Chrissy chirp tempura in it and the XXX roll has mango on top which makes it so special. I ordered the salmon and tuna sashimi which are very fresh and big piece. Staff are very friendly and helpful when we want our Dragon will with no green onion and sesame. Good service! Super thin and flavorful batter, good, moist, cleaned chicken thigh with no excess fat or tendons. Ambiance is nice, however they could work on the playlist selection. They separated the soup for the ramen so the noodle won't get soggy. The soup is so rich and creamy. Perfect for such cold days. Tempura so crunchy and the crab meat so fresh. Delicious food and good portion I live close by and have been coming here when ever I wanna hangout with my friends and chill. Good thing they refill our cokes the whole time since we sit there almost the whole afternoon there XD. We order a few appetizers to start while we wait for our friends to come. When they finally arrived, we order the a few special rolls and those are delicious I love the Romeo roll best as it's so creamy and the tobiko on top makes it soooooooo yummy. The only thing that could be better were if the servers knew what pieces we getting. Because everything is automated with the menu process and the rockets bringing the food directly to you, the staff doesn't do much besides fill your water and clear dishes.
