I received an email yesterday asking to give Rockwall Ford a five star review on Yelp and mention Craig Bloomquist, the sales rep that helped me by name. I'm fairly surprised I was asked to provide this as my customer experience was far from extraordinary, although to be fair it probably wouldn't be classified as the worst car sales experience either. I had no intention of writing a review prior to being asked to give a five star nod to Rockwall Ford, I suppose if I were them I would be cautious of what you ask for as I cannot in good faith give this business more than two stars. First the good, Craig was a nice enough guy. In person he by all accounts appeared as though he was trying to help the process move along. I'm not sure this was anything more than a sales tactic but his in person customer service skills were adequate. He was also very helpful in remediating some small scratches inside the truck, although I would also contend this probably speaks more to the lack of attention and care of the dealership employees as to why there would be scratches and pen marks on the leather interior of a brand new 50k vehicle in the first place. Now the bad, this is my review of the entire dealership and not just Craig. Incompetence runs rampant, wildly inadequate online communication skills, shady negotiating tactics, lack of attention to detail, lack of knowledge on the tools they utilize, and from my point of view from the service shop to the sales floor this was a poorly run and quite possibly suspect business. I get the fact they are out to make money at the expense of the buyers negotiating skills, but I felt like some of the guys I dealt with there would be the type to take advantage of others when given the opportunity. In the end I was satisfied with the deal I got and have been happy with the vehicle I purchased, but I also would have been happy to pay a little more for that same vehicle to not have to deal with their whimsical and/or typical car dealership strategies. I don't really care to revisit the whole experience by going into detail but I can confidently state that I will not be buying another vehicle from this dealership again. read more

Rockwall Ford used to be my go-to service dealer for my Expedition. The service writer there was very knowledgeable and helpful. He's been gone from there for going on three years and I have not gone in there for much since he's left. Had a check engine light come on while I was out of town, had it diagnosed on the road and decided to get it fixed at Rockwall Ford when I got back to town. The service writer wasn't interested in what was diagnosed and they had to go through it all over again. Didn't tell me that they require 24 hours to diagnose until they had my car in the shop for four hours with no updates. Late in the day, I was told that my car needed about 1,200.00 worth of repairs, new spark plugs, new sensors, new coils. The plugs in the car had about 28,000 miles on them with 128,000 miles on the car. Somehow all this stuff can go bad, but the car runs fine, fuel economy is unchanged, engine runs fine, starts fine, idles fine, no issues at all. Nothing to indicate anything wrong, but they say it needs all these repairs, except for the proclamation by the service writer that the issue was because the plugs were Bosch plugs instead of Motorcraft. So, I trust them and tell them to go ahead with the repair, but I want the plugs saved so I can look at them. Car is finished at 6:30 and we go to pick it up. Service Dept closed, but reception in the dealership has my keys and invoice. They don't ask for id, just toss the keys and invoice, have a nice day. Crap all over the inside of my car, but what is not inside my car is the spark plugs they agreed to leave for me. Once I got home and threw out the plastic and crap left behind, I found a tester that the mechanic left in the car. They're expensive, I'm sure, so, I called the dealership the next day, spoke to the service writer and explained that I had a tester left in my car, but no plugs. I couldn't make it back that day, but would return the next day. That was fine and when I went back the following day, my service writer had that day off, but failed to tell me. So, no one knew anything, but they did know that my plugs were thrown away. What a bunch of BS! Careless, untrustworthy and no consideration. I have an appointment with another shop to pull a plug and take a look at it to see if it has Bosch or Motorcraft written on it. I wouldn't be surprised they are my Bosch plugs for 28,000 miles ago. I will never return to Rockwall Ford and I will make sure that I tell as many people as I can about the inept way they run their shop. read more

I've bought 3 vehicles from this place in the span of 6 years. One was cash the other 2 were financed. I went to Trade in my current vehicle. They ran my credit and instantly told me they couldn't help me after being put to the side for about 2 hours. They kept saying we aren't pre judging you. However that is exactly what it felt like. They never looked at my trade in or asked what vehicles I wanted to trade for. I was called by THEM to trade in my vehicle, I didn't come in on my own. I have the money to buy a vehicle with cash but I wanted to see my options. They never gave me an opportunity. I have a history with this place and they still treated me like crap and didn't bother or seem to care about talking to me about other opinions. They definitely pre judged me. This is a joke and as a repeat customer I expected more. But never again. read more

The car buying experience with sheddy was topnotch, but the service center is horrendous. Car wash was included, but after three hours it was another 30 Minutes. If I could give 0 stars on this visit, I would. Came in with noise in the engine bay or suspension on acceleration and on the right side of the vehicle when going over bumps. Also have issues with the structure of the upper shoulder area of the drivers seat creating popping noises. Left car the entire day and was told they could not duplicate engine/suspensions sounds even though it made them as I was leaving the dealership. The service manager came out and looked at the seat, told me it was just the sound of leather. When I duplicated the sound he told me how he could possibly fix it and I told him that's what he should have done that day in the first place. I left without anything being done to my car, no offer to resolve it, and no reach out by the dealership later to rate their services. Shocking. My next move is to notify Ford. read more

I am happy to say we can give Rockwall Ford 5 stars. My wife has a Ford Explorer and attempted to take it there several times in the past and got the not so friendly or unhelpful women treatment. We tried another dealership, but was out of the way so thought we give it another try. Immediately we could tell there was a change in how they did things from greet, to explaining the process and communication. We got Keith Monnette the first time and decided to request him a second time. I purchased a used 2011 Expedition from Rockwall Ford in 2015 and this year had to have a lot of maintenance performed. I had 4 new shocks replaced in February and in June I replaced front & rear brakes, flushed all the fluid systems and all 4 tires. The tires had a great price and the repairs went smoothly. I cannot say enough positive comments about my recent buying experience with Rockwall Ford. I have always driven General Motors products and was currently driving an 11 yr old GMC that has been very good, but I thought I wanted to look at the Dodge and Ford equivalents this time. I was initially introduced to John Bowers and I told him I was not ready to buy and just wanted to "kick the tires". It was almost 100 degrees, but we walked the lot with him showing me every vehicle I asked about. He answered all my questions. Most salesmen turn you off just as soon as they determine you have no intention of buying, but not John. Long story short, I did the same with other dealerships and did not get the comfort feeling. Although I favored the GMC Denali (primarily because of always being a GM person), it was the rapport I found with John that brought me back for another look. I came back unannounced and without an appointment. Although John was busy with two other clients, he took time to introduce me to Jason Chury. Jason was just as cordial and spent several more hours with me trying to address all my questions and desires to look. Being satisfied that I felt like a "wanted customer", I decided this was a dealership I wanted to give my business to and we began the negotiations. Again, long story short. I switched from being a lifetime GM person to a happy new owner of a Ford 350 Super Duty Platinum (primarily due to my experience with both John and Jason). Our first experience was so amazing we decided to go back after we got taken care of what we needed to. As most of you know, car buying can be a bit stressful especially when you are upside down on your trade-in. At first I was a little concerned it might be a beat down and at least a couple days to get my truck back. I could not have been more mistaken. Went online and easily scheduled the service for 1:15 in the afternoon. Showed up and spoke with Mark, the customer service rep. He proceeded to get the truck info and had it lined up for the maintenance in about 10 min. Very courteous and professional, he answered all my questions and assured me the work would be complete the same day. I was able to pick my truck up that evening without issue. Yesterday was a busy time working to get a good used car deal for son and his family. While the first salesperson started out being helpful, there was a breakdown on his part when discerning the realistic need and desire. As a result of an escalating discussion the original salesperson was replaced by someone who helped us seal the deal with the direct assistance of the Finance Manager and Service Manager--all 3 worked to make the deal come together so son and wife was able to drive off in his new "used" vehicle and everyone was a happy customer once again. Worst experience I have ever had Getting my car fixed. Shelby in the body shop is a liar with an attitude. After repeated delays in fixing my car she actually couldn't understand that I worked and had already shifted my schedule several times for her. Apparently they have 1 person to work on your car, and if that person not available nothing gets done. The excuse was that a different tech wont know where the parts are. Complete lack of organization. Complete lack of communication. Complete lack of caring for customers. Complete crap shop! Will never go back for any reason. After consistently terrible service at another dealership, we decided to try Rockwall Ford's service department. We have a service plan so we did our regular maintenance, but we also had to have our backup camera replaced. We left our vehicle there overnight. Horrible Repair service on my 2015 mustang. These guys nearly killed me. They should be glad i didn't sue them. I had a staggered wheel set up from their factory. Went for an oil change and told them specifically not to rotate tires. Guess what? They put the big wheels in the front and never told me about it. I drove out of the service and the front wheels started hitting the front struts. Real life threatening experience. DO NOT GO THERE! After all that i went in because i was having some wind noise and rattling issue; They took my car in 4 times and never got the problem resolved. As of this day i still have the same wind noise and rattling noise. I gave them a negative review in the survey they sent me and they got mad. Really? I will be calling Ford Corporate, not only to ask for a new mustang, but also to complain about my horrid experience over there. They called me today and these were their exact words "We cannot service your car from this point on forward, please look at other dealerships". What ever you do not buy a used car from them. I bought a 2013 Ford F-150 4x4. Got up the next day and the brakes squeal so bad it is embarrassing. I took it back because they forgot to put a dealership tag on it and to tell them that the breaks are embarrassing. They said they put new brakes on the truck and to give it a few days and it should go away. It is going on 3 months and they are still the same way. Now they make a grinding noise. Also the ac does not blow cold not even cool. Bought a can of 134a because it shows its low on Freon but there is something wrong with it because it will not take the Freon in to the ac. I guess now I will be putting in in a shop to find out what is wrong with the ac. Transmission will drop down into 1 gear while you are driving has done it about 10 times in 3 months. Just got a recall notice for this problem but will not be taking it to Rockwall Ford to fix it. I have bought 3 vehicles from them one new and 2 used. I will never buy another. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would!!! I'm so upset with this dealership. We brought our truck in because something was humming under the hood and staying on after the truck was turned off causing the batteries to drain. They tell us it will be 146.00 diagnostic, sure no problem. We leave it- they let it sit in the back lot for two days before looking at it. They call us and tell us the batteries are dead and need to be replaced. The batteries are about a year old. We told them that yes it probably is dead because whatever is staying on under the hood has drained the batteries and it has sat there for two days, you will need to charge them. They refused to diagnose without us purchasing new batteries (360.00). We provided them with the dealership's phone number we bought the truck from (Elizabeth in Service got that info? so she could follow up with warranty info for the batteries, she did not. We called the dealership and they got no calls from her or Ford to inquire about the warranty. I call Elizabeth at Ford and tell her we are not paying for batteries that will not fix the problem, the batteries are fine they just need to be charged because they were drained. She tells me that the mechanics said they wont look diagnostic it without us buying batteries..REALLY!! We buy the batteries because we have no options. We get a call the following day stating that the truck is starting right up and that the batteries were the problem come get your truck its fixed. I asked did you fix the humming noise- whatever was staying on? Chris the tech tells me the noise went away when they replaced the batteries and that when I come up there he wants me to walk back into the yard and inspect the vehicle to make sure it is good to go. Chris walks me back to the truck in the yard, pops the hood and I immediately could hear the humming noise, the part was still staying on. The only reason the battery wasn't dead yet was because they were new and in 24 hours they too would be dead. He then has a mechanic come over to the hood and he narrows in on the throttle valve and unplugs it the noise stops. They told me they would keep it and look at it probably the next day. I get a call the next day and they tell me that even when the valve was not connected it still drained the battery so there is something else draining the battery and that it would be an additional 480.00 to find the problem. WE PAY 480.00. they come back and discover that the BCM is corroded and believe that is the problem. They put in a BCM. 06-17-20 I get a call from Chris stating that this seemed to have fixed the problem. We are going to let it sit overnight and make sure the batteries are not drained and you can come get your truck on 06-19-20. Get a text (not a call) from the service dept stating that the truck is not ready and that something is still draining the batteries. We paid 480.00 for a diagnostic not 146.00 and we paid for batteries 360.00 and still have the exact same problem. When does the bleeding stop. Ford should diagnose the problem for sure for 480.00, return my 360.00 dollars because obviously the batteries were NOT the problem and then lets get it fixed. I called them 06-19-20 in the am and now I'm being told that they will put a second eye on it and that they will let me know what the problem and is and I'm just waiting to see how much more the bill will climb. This is definitely not right!!!!!!!!! Oh did I mention the BCM cost us another 460.00...WE ARE NOW UP TOO 1300.00!! How high will it go before someone does the right thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I call it like it is and here is my experience for you to read. My wife and I were in the market for a new Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicle. On Saturday, the dealership was nice enough to allow us to test drive the Ford Fusion Hybrid Energi SE. If the numbers were right, we would have bought this vehicle. On Sunday while at work, I did massive research on this type of vehicle and the other models for the hybrid. I found out that Rockwall Ford only had one other Ford Fusion Hybrid in a teal color. Now I don't know about you but if I am going to drop 34-38k dollars, you bet your life I am going to buy what I want on the car. When we arrived back to Rockwall Ford on Monday morning, we gave the sales associate the oppertunity to find and research the car we were looking for. Unfortunately, he couldn't find anything what we were looking for. Now mind you, 2 hours have passed. I am hungery and the wife is hungry so we decide to leave to eat. As we were driving my wife tells me she would like to go back to Prestige Ford and see if they have anything on their lot. While at Prestige, we had two managers from Rockwall Ford text over and over what they can do for me and my wife. When I asked for specifics, they were rattling off that they can get the same car we were buying at Prestige for under $500. Now, the vehicle that we were buying was stickered at 36k. and if you know numbers, a 36k-38k dollar vehicle will roughly come out to a $600 payment. After careful consideration, this is what I figured how they were getting to that number. It is my opinion they were going to find a white Ford Fusion SE and install the leather seats and all of the other amenities as aftermarket. What this does is, when I go to trade in the car and the dealership that i trade it in to, will run the VIN number and show base the price of the vehicle without the amenities. Well if the VIN is a "PLAIN JANE", that's what I am going to get back in return without the price of the ammenities. In other words, I am getting back less money for my trade!! I was furious thinking that this is how Rockwall Ford would go so low to sell a car. Ladies and gentlemen, I am honestly saying if you know what kind of car you want research it. look within 100 miles of your zip code and go through each dealership's inventory. And stay within your budget!! Dont go asking for a 38k dollar vehicle thinking you are going to pay $400 a month. Be resonable. read more

I had been emailing back and forth with Rockwall Ford and 5 other Ford dealers in the DFW area, including my dealers here in Tyler, one of which I'd purchased from 4 years ago. After being lead astray by those here in Tyler at THE LAST MINUTE I called Bonner Lovern at Rockwall Ford and asked if HE would stand behind his word and price on the new 2014 Ford Flex I wanted to purchase. He not only DID but had the car ready and waiting for me 2 days later!! She was detailed and ready to go! The process was easy and quick and this is only the second car I've ever bought. They ALSO took in my trade at the last minute at a great price due to the failure of another dealer who had agreed to purchase my 2010 Flex. Stay away from this place. I took a 2016 Ford Fusion in because mostly what you hear on the radio is static. It should be covered under warranty. They had the car for an entire day and they said the radio works normal. I asked "did you hear the static?' They answered, very condescending, "that's the way radios normally work. Sometimes you hear static. That's perfectly normal." I'm like thanks for letting me know how radios normally sound. I haven't heard that many in my 35 years of driving cars. I would highly recommend against doing business with Rockwall Ford. On 4/14/18 I traded my Dodge Ram 1500 and bought a Certified Pre-Owned Expedition from Rockwall Ford. During negotiations the Finance Manager told me he would include a 5 year/100,000 mile "Wrap" or Premium Care extended warranty for the CPO vehicle. He said he had a "few coupons in his office" and I accepted this almost $3000 value in lieu of arguing for additional value on my trade-in or further discounting the CPO vehicle. I made the huge mistake of signing the contract that actually included the cost of the extended warranty as a line item. I certainly should have known better, but I'm too trusting and it had been a long day so I wasn't as careful as I should have been. When I brought this to the attention of the Finance Manager several days later I was told I "received a better interest rate instead." I explained in person that I did not need assistance with my interest rate and that I wanted the extended warranty as promised. He said for me to call him Monday and he would see what he could do to correct the issue. I called every day that week leaving messages with no callback. After a full week of not returning calls he texted me the next Monday and told me he checked with his Finance Manager and there was nothing he could do. Now he won't return texts or calls at all. I went back to the dealership in person and had the extended warranty removed from my contract because I was being charged for it, but Rockwall Ford is still refusing to honor the deal that was made. Rockwall Ford owes me the extended warranty at no charge or the $2980 value. To make matters worse, the purchased CPO Expedition has been in the service department 3 times now to correct issues that should have been caught during the CPO inspection process. This certainly makes me question the value of the advertised Certified Pre-Owned inspection process. If you buy from Rockwall Ford I hope you are more cautious than I was. read more

One of the worst experiences I have had buying a vehicle. I feel I have been lied to, given the run around and ignored after buying my vehicle that is. During the process they were offering the moon. They used paint, as advertisement, on the windshield but once it was washed off after buying it I discovered a big crack in the windshield which they refused to repair. Three days after buying the vehicle it failed to start due to a previously installed anti-theft device and again they refused to repair. It wasn't until I became the squeaky wheel and called everyday talking to everyone I could that they finally agreed to fix it. I am now cancelling my extended warranty and gap insurance since I have paid the vehicle off and I am getting the run around and jumping through hoops just to get my money back. I have had to deal with this service department several times due to my car just having a really annoying defect we cant seem to diagnose but I do however want to say i do truly believe that this service department cares about my issue and that they do the best they can with the resources they are provided to resolve my issue. I own a 2017 Fusion and they all know my car at first sight! But Jerry Jones has been my service adviser and if you need to work with anyone i would work with him as i have the 7 times I've been there and although I'm not pleased with the car itself because of the problem that just wont go away, I'm dealing with ford on that and they have always been ready to try their best to solve it and communicate with me often to keep me informed and even though i live far now and he knows that, hes never tried to push me off to be someone elses problem and i appreciate that! read more
