The magnum rolls were the size of a burrito, which is not a good thing because the proportions are so off, you can't even get all the ingredients in one bite. And that's not what they advertise because although theyre called "magnum", the images on their website and in store still appear to be proportional rice paper rolls. i was also disappointed by the beef steak, which turned out to be dry beef slices rather than the medium rare steak pieces they advertise. And taste wise, I think they need to recommend a sauce. I ended up blindly choosing peanut sauce, and I don't think it paired well at all. I should've stuck with the vietnamese vinaigrette (which i assume is nuoc cham) to be safe. This place lived up to its hype. Parking kinda sucks but it was next to a parking garage that you have to pay $3 for. Just park down 2 other parking lots and you should be good. There are screens at the counter to customize your order however you would like. You can add what you want, get what you want, drink what you want. This is really cool because it's a "Wawa"/"Sheetz" type of ordering system to pick and select. Service was great! They brought the food to me, utensils, and drink! They were very kind and always cleaned the table tops. But it's not like a restaurant where they refill your drink or ask you what else you need. Because it's also carry out spot. Ordered pork egg rolls and a vermicelli bowl with everything in it. It was way more than asked for, especially for one person. Don't waste your eating time circling for parking - head straight for the garage as they validate. That way you can get to the food faster! Speaking of food, it's so worth it. We kept seeing the restaurant while driving by and finally decided to stop in. After a few bites we wondered what took us so long. We got what it seemed the other Yelpers recommended the most - the sandwich - and the pho. As previous reviews stated the sandwich was da bomb and the pho could use different noodles, but hey the soup was so good we could overlook them and devoured it all. The banh mi was still good, but it didn't seem to have much mayo on it (was a little dry) and the beef wasn't as good as it used to be. The bowls were a good addition to the menu - huge and filling. Full of pork belly. The belly is still really good and rich - this will be what goes on the banh mi from now on (not to mention the beef is $2 extra). The noodle bowl did however need all of the sauce and some hoisin though to make it really good. All in all still a really cool spot and a great deal for the quality you get. We came here on a weekday for a little bite before mall. We ordered banh mi with grill pork and 2 eggs. Overall, it was filling and a lot of stuffs inside for the price but I wish the banh mi was little more crispy and the meats was a little more seasoning. We also had egg rolls, these were amazing, decent size, very crispy and hot. They tasted so good. The sauce for egg rolls was typical sweet and spicy sauce but could be a little more spicy. We also had sample of the viet coffee. The coffee is quite sweet but it tastes viet which is just black coffee and condensed milk. Could be nice if it had a little more ice. I loved their samples, so when I was in Tyson's and opened my Yelp app to find out their location was just minutes from the mall, I jumped. Roll Play Grill offers quick-service yet deliciously fresh Vietmesene cuisine, its hip ambiance shows through with the artwork displayed on the walls and your order can never go wrong because you place it on one of the four touch-screen screens. While ordering, I noticed that the app flows seamlessly, so that's a major plus! I ordered the Fully-Loaded Bowl with noodles and lemongrass steak + chicken because I was hangry and it sounded delicious. Was I happy with my order? If you asked me that question I ould scream "YES" every loudly just so you can grasp how much I enjoyed my bowl. It's September 2021, when the delta variant is picking up, and ONE out of SIX employees was wearing a mask. And the one who was wearing a mask was just bagging the orders. The ladies and men making the food were completely unmasked. One woman was dipping the rice paper into water and holding it up right in front of her face, about three or four inches. If she has covid, I pray to God the germs she's spreading doesn't go to the food. When I move to a new place it's a priority for me to find my go-to play for Vietnamese food and this just might be it! My experience is limited to delivery so I can't speak to the dine-in vibe. I've been a fan of bahn mi since I tried my first on a sunny spring morning in San Francisco looking out over the water. Something about those picked veggies, those crusty French rolls and the fresh herbs checks all my boxes. And I never thought the classic combo needed any updates, until now. Roll Play's "Eggs Rated" sandwich with its addition of a fried egg and siracha Mayo makes my sandwich loving heart skip a beat. I also tried the pho when I was under the weather. The broth was complex and rich. The meat was a little chewier than I like, but that might be a result of delivery vs eating in the shop. How I want to love this place. Vietnamese, fast-casual, with touchscreen ordering - what a fantastic idea!! Service was wonderful - a gentleman offered to help us order, gave honest recommendations on which proteins were the best, and cleared our trays when we finished. I don't know if it was just what I ordered, but everything seemed a bit salty. And it certainly lacked the balance of other Vietnamese food I've had elsewhere. Since it was our first time, we stuck with the "Signature" menu, starting with the five spice chicken roll, stuffed more thickly than usual. Nothing wrong with that, except it was a little hard to dip. And it was savory, with a pleasant crunch. But the other flavors overwhelmed the herbs, which was a disappointment. The pork belly "banh-mi," way thicker than I expected at first glance. I went with the default toppings, and as with the roll, it lacked the balance of herbs that delicious Vietnamese food has. Let me first say the food is outstanding. On that criteria alone, I would give them 5 stars. So why one star? Because this business tries to cheat customers, notably those who order through Uber eats. On the Uber eats menu, you'd expect that they would provide a sauce for each roll ordered. Instead, they intentionally only include one sauce of a flavor ordered. For example, if you ordered 3 rolls and asked for peanut sauce on each, then only one peanut sauce is included. How do I know it's intentional on Roll Play's part? Because my order will include their order slip, and they show that they only put in the one sauce. Speaking of the order slip, the prices are usually lower than the ones charged on Uber eats. They don't even do a good job to hide their shady business practices! How do I know this isn't an anomaly? Interesting fast casual Vietnamese place. Food is pretty good, I got the beef pho, the colossal pork rolls, and a coconut drink. The rolls are definitely big and worth the money. As for the pho it's ok, but definitely better places. Ambience is pretty cool, the place it's self is kind of small so if you have a large party you might want to consider seating before going. Parking is also tight, there are two parking slots for this place, I assume there's parking somewhere else like underground. Lastly the ordering system is kind of weird where if you mess up your custom order you will have to start over. They were one of many vendors at a Yelp event (Cirque du Yelp) held at the Clarendon Ballroom. The line to try their food was long and after waiting in line I saw why. They really made a first impression as I bookmarked them instantly as to not forget to hit up on their brick and mortar spot. One day recently I was recently in Vienna and had to stop by Roll Play and go for their take on some of their Vietnamese specialties. I went with the Pork belly banh mi and it was plentiful. Yeah say what you want as I took the safe route with this selection. Plentiful in value, plentiful in flavor, and plentiful in size. It was just what I need as I started to get hangry at this particular point in the day. The pork belly was nicely complemented with the fresh vegetables used. It was cooked just the way I liked my pork belly as it had a bit of a chew but not so much where it was like a chore to finally get it to break away from the rest of the sandwich. You know what I mean when you have to pull your food away from your mouth just to get a bite off. My hint is to dip this sandwich in a mixture of sriracha and hoisin sauce to add a little sweetness and kick. Just my personal preference. I am hoping that Roll Play makes it in my area as after only a few time it is one of my favorite places to get a quick bite. This is a small industrial restaurant with group seating....great for a fast meal but not for date night. They have a small outdoor patio with 4 tables thats a bit more private. The free water is mint infused but not marked. If you want plain wayer, Figi is for sale. The custom magum roll was ON POINT. Measuring 6" x 2.5" x 2"....its huge...and there are 3! Its a huge meal...not an appetizer unless you are the Hulk. I went with pork belly, shrimp, avacado, egg, scallions, peanuts, cucumber, and no noodles. Great for a keto or low carb diet. The ingredients are fresh but the pork belly lacked flavor. The spicey peanut sauce has a latent kick so beware. The regular peanut sauce is warm and creamy and I prefer it. The noodle bowl was also HUGE. There is an option to omit ingredients if allergies are a problem. The mango was sour but everything else was quite fresh. The steak was tasty but tough....so I dropped a star. The only real detractor is the parking situation....its dismal (welcome to ALL of Tysons Corner). Park around back if weather permits. When I eat at Roll Play, my usual Pho is the traditional beef pho. On a whim, I decided to try the meatball pho, because who does not like meatballs. The 'meatballs' no where resembled any sort of meatball I have ever eaten; here is why: 1) A 'ball' implies that it is round (or roundish if homemade). What I got were slices of meat, like it was cut from a mini meatloaf. (see photos) 2) Holy Black Pepper Batman!!! The black pepper was so strong that I could not taste the broth let alone the jalapeno's or cilantro. 3) Not sure if the meatball was ground beef (then it was a poor mix), ground turkey, or ground chicken. It tasted like if your Italian grandma decided to make a meatball, but you just told her you don't eat beef anymore; and she tipped her hat on the black pepper. 4) The meatballs fell apart in the broth...besides the mini loaf slices, I also had bits and pieces of meat that look like someone rubbed the slices between their gloved hands and then dropped the result in the bowl. (see photos) As you can see from the photos below, I ate it because I was hungry and am at work, and honestly do not have time to order another meal. Now, I know the food is not authentic, and fast casual food tends to air on the side of culinary creativity, but whether this was an experiment in cooking, or just a bad batch, the whole thing just left a meh, albeit hot taste in my mouth! A casual place that encourages one to customize their "summer" rolls, pho, and banh mi! Super amazing. Walk in, notice the small seating area, all communal, order from a screen. Roll Play Grill has customizable rolls, banh mi, bowls, and pho. They also have a "suggested" roll, banh mi, and bowl in case you don't want to customize yours. Other than the pho, you get to choose 5 free toppings from pickled medley, cucumber, mint, lettuce, cilantro, bean sprouts, fried shallots, bell peppers, crushed peanuts, mango, japapeno, and scallions, and any extra is 50 cents each. Premium toppings for a dollar or so more include egg, avocado, etc. Protens include lemongrass flank steak, five-spiced chicken, pork belly, garlic shrimp, and tofu. For the pho, you can choose between oxtail beef, chicken, or tofu pho, with either pho noodles, shirataki noodles (add $3), or no noodles. You could choose whether you want some, all, or none of white onions, cilantro, and scallions. A lil bag of bean sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapenos come on the side. I loved customizing the rolls and banh mi sandwiches, and they were both very delicious. The sandwich was stuffed, and the bread was crunchy. The rolls came with 3, and they were stuffed as well, and you get to choose a dipping sauce! The pho was flavorful, but the noodles were a bit on the soggy side. It was great being able to customize the onions/cilantro/scallions because for the sake of my kids. I've also tried these following drinks - young coconut, basil mint lemonade, and vietnamese coffee. The young coconut is now $5, and there's a cool looking stamp of Roll Play's logo on it. Good coconut juice, fun to scrape out the coconut in there as well. The basil mint lemonade was on the sweet side for me, but the rest of the fam enjoyed it. Skip the Vietnamese coffee, unless I had it on an off day. It was thick, consistency and taste a bit lie cough syrup, and probably one of the worst Viet coffees I've had. Parking is validated and is conveniently located right next to the store. Looks small from the outside but once you get inside, it's decently roomy. Sriracha packets FTW! THE BLACK AND WHITE: I love vietnamese food...almost more than Chinese food and I'm Chinese! I really enjoy pho and banh mi and roll play does both beautifully. The banh mi here has a softer bread which contrasts to most other banh mi's I've eaten (mainly made with baguettes). I like the double crunch from the baguette and carrots, but the banh mi was still delicious. The egg was definitely a game changer and not typical from the banh mi's I've eaten. Proteins FTW! I also enjoyed the fully loaded bowl. It's a decent price tag but it results in a full stomach. I did not expect that much food to be consumed. You can select your toppings at the beginning (I chose everything) and add additional items (you really dont need to). The bowl is legitamently 2 pounds...Worth It. Ordering is pretty sweet as it's all done on a touch screen. You select your order, print off the receipt and then you get your food. Super efficient and painless. Chicken was good but a tiny bit on the dry side. The oxtail broths on the other hand, perfection! After seeing so many Yelp reviews and driving by so many times, I decided to drop by on a Saturday for lunch. I got a meatball bahn mi, fried rice and egg rolls. The bahn mi had nice flavors and I liked how you can customize with toppings. I got mine with all the veggies and eggs. I also got a side of beef broth. It tasted good, but one thing that I noticed was that there was a whole tray of eggs and shrimp already made up sitting in room temperature in their kitchen area. I think that it would have been better if they made their eggs to order for each sandwich. The fried rice and egg rolls were good, not spectacular, but not bad either. This could be two meals for some people. Oxtail Pho - The delicious broth made the pho work well. Fast-casual pho isn't something I've been exposed much to, so this concept was cool to see. I've always heard of this place, and I finally was able to try it. I wish this place was bigger! I can definitely see parking being an issue, but we went later in the evening so we probably avoided a huge crowd. Yes, it is overpriced. Banh is over $10 here, and that's wild! I wanted to try a roll but I refuse to pay $4 for a roll. However, not docking a point for these two factors. Anyway, I ordered the veggie bowl and it was much better than I expected. It's plenty of food and the summer rolls that come with it are crunchy and flavorful. I would order this, again. I think papaya salad would be a good addition to this dish. Things they have that I haven't seen in other Vietnamese restaurants: hoisin and sriracha packets, and pho-styled plastic spoons (what!?) It's not that big of a deal but, I like. I'm not a fan of their ordering system. They keep the menu minimal enough to make the computer-ordering efficient but it was still too much for me. The pictures are nice (kudos to the photographer). But, anyone new to the restaurant may have some issues. The staff members willingly help if they know it's your first time. Gotta come back and see how the pho is. read more

Excellent place to get delicious Vietnamese food quickly! You can just order on the screens. Very easy and quick. The staff is super friendly. They also validate parking near the cashier. Just scan your ticket under the machine. There is an entrance in the back that goes directly to the garage! My favorite things are the pork belly spring rolls with peanut sauce, the pho, and the pork belly banh mi. I feel like you can't go wrong with anything. Also love the Vietnamese coffee (same as the one in Teas'n You). The only thing is that things are a little pricey BUT usually they're pretty big portions. 2 spring rolls could fill me up, and half of a banh mi is enough sometimes. read more

We were in the neighborhood and we said why not. Let's just say we are definitely coming back. The Spicy Ox Tail Pho is a must have. Super flavorful and spice level was just right. We accompanied it with their Triple X Fried Rice and Banh Mi. The rice and veggies were cooked perfectly and not greasy (major plus for us) The Lemongrass Beef Steak was juicy, flavorful and delicious. The baguette was nice and crunchy. Who ever thought off adding an egg deserves a raise! Over all a 9.9 I would say 10 but don't want you all to get complacent lol read more

If I can't get homemade pho from my mom, then this is the next best thing. Short of going to the Vietnamese shopping center and sitting down for a bowl, Roll Play is quick and easy and so so good. Parking is a little rough, and there is one reserved spot out front. The rest of the parking is in the garage, but Roll Play validates so you don't have to pay. They only accept credit card, and you order on one of three computers. Seating is limited but I've never not had a place to sit or just ordered for takeout (which is great, because everything is packaged really well!). I've gotten a banh mi, rice noodle bowl, and various other items, but the thing I keep going back for is the pho. A small/side size is the perfect little snack or light meal, and the big size is if you're really hungry. Both the regular bone broth and the spicy oxtail are amazing. My sister has tried the veggie broth with tofu and says it's very flavorful as well. This is the perfect place for fast/casual Vietnamese food! read more
