A cute little breakfast and lunch spot that is obviously a huge hit with the locals. Place was full the whole time I was there. I went for lunch and opted for the turkey club, which was quite tasty, though I may ask for a little more mayo next time. Opted for fries on the side and they were super crunchy which is always a plus. It's nothing fancy inside, but has a certain small town charm. Specials are listed on a black board on your way in so be sure to turn right upon entering so you don't miss out. The menu may not be the most creative but it's got a good assortment of the classics. Pricing was very reasonable and I do like that they have counter service, which just always feels nostalgic in the best way. The service was friendly and welcoming, which was nice to see considering I wasn't one of the many regulars dining there that day. It's definitely a spot where you feel like everyone knows each other, but don't let that stop you from visiting. It's a spot where I would say everyone would feel welcome.

We actually wanted to visit another diner for their "crack bread", but that place is closed on weekends so we came here. Everything at Rome Point Cafe was fantastic, would definitely recommend and we look forward to coming back!

I got the tofu scramble and a decaf coffee & everything was delicious! I've been talking about it for days. The service was so great and accommodating when I told them that I had gastric bypass surgery and couldn't have the toast or hash browns, she was willing to substitute it for sliced tomatoes for me. The cafe looks like a perfect old-school diner and I sat at the counter, which was really nice. This will definitely be a staple from now on!

We've stopped into this breakfast and lunch spot in the past, but it's been a while. We don't often find ourselves on this stretch of Rt. 1A during meal time, but as we were in the area, at the right time, we stopped in for lunch. There is parking on the side of the building by the trees and in the back. The entrance is on the Rt 1a side of the building. Inside there are several small tables in the front part of the building, including two by the windows each side of the door, as well as a few counter stools. Behind a partition wall are a few booth seats. The interior is nothing to write home about. Linoleum tile floor peeling, lots of electrical wires added to the walls for things like AC and appliances. But you are not here for ambiance you are here for food and everything is clean. They have tried to make it as cozy as possible The staff are super friendly and efficient. They serve breakfast throughout open hours as well as lunch by late morning. We were told to have a seat anywhere and menu's were brought over. During our visit every table but one was full, so definitely a favorite with the locals. On the wall to the right of the entrance is a 'blackboard' type application where they write the specials and there were quite a few including soup of the day and baked goods for take away. They had many take out orders during our visit and the staff clearly knew these folks as they chatted familiarly during their purchase. We ordered sandwiches for lunch. They come with a pickle, which is both sweet and sour as well as crisp. Fries are a la carte, which is fine, because these sandwiches really filled us up. There was plenty of meat in there, and the rolls were warm and soft. A very satisfying meal. Actually, it was more than enough to fill my stomach. I left stuffed. The price for the sandwiches was reasonable and the food quality good. There is one tiny restroom tucked in behind some tables that you have to squeeze by to enter. It was clean and stocked. All together we had a pleasant lunch.

Decent diner with old-school swivel-stool counter seating, friendly service, and all the standard comfort foods you'd expect - plus some nice specials that are always well worth considering. My colleague opted for breakfast - and it looked good! - consisting of scrambled eggs, toast, ham, and home fries. I went for the lunch side of the menu and had a brace of hot dogs with sauerkraut, fries, and cole slaw. Solid and satisfying. It's a lively place, fills up fast, so I'd advise you come early to ensure being seated quickly!

Great neighborhood spot near Wickford. Limited seating so you may wait. Feels like an old timey breakfast spot with good prices and classic menu items and furnishings. Simple yet good. We especially enjoyed the mocha cold brew from local coffee shop, Nitro Cart. Also enjoyed the eggs Benedict with corned beef hash.

Very tasty food here at this very popular breakfast/lunch cafe. Because of its popularity, you will have a wait. We were here on a Sunday morning just prior to a February snowstorm around 10 am and it was packed. They have a pager system, where you need to walk up to the cashier/waitress to get the device and then wait for your number to be called. I saw some local regular customers, who were greeted by name, go wait in their car with the device. We ate at the counter and were served by a VERY friendly waitress, who clearly knew her regular customers by name. The servings were generous and my blueberry pancakes were fluffy and wonderful. My spouse's Swiss cheese omelet with bacon bits and hash browns were very satisfying, he said. I asked to bring my remaining coffee to go and was pleasantly surprised when I was given a large coffee cup topped off with hot coffee. Nice touch! I would visit here again, but will make sure to plan some time to get a table/seat.

Reliable, simple, and hearty brunch/lunch food done well and at a great price! I mean avo toast for under $4 is impossible to find! I've heard so many great things about this cute place. It lives up to the hype! It's a no-frills but charming little diner with the metal countertop and stools and all. I could tell right away our waitress was experienced, friendly, and a straight-shooter...just my style. We both got a bowl of the chicken, artichoke Florentine soup (note: it's creamy, not clear broth like I had expected) which was delish. Perfect size too. I got a Tuna Melt with curly fries while my hubby got the Reuben and a spinach/pineapple/mango green shake (great that it was all natural but seemed like the fruits weren't super ripe so was a little on the bland side). Both sandwiches were generously filled and came with homemade pickles. Overall, was very pleased with our quick meal! My only nit is that the giant "Rome Point Next Door" sign with the arrow pointing right towards a door is extremely confusing. I didn't realize there's a second smaller coffee shop called "Rome Point Next Door." The arrow adds confusion unless it's intentional? It made it seem like the entrance to the actual restaurant was past the door to the right. I wonder how often people get that mixed up!! Poor usability/customer experience that started us off on a bad foot since it was raining and we were walking around trying to find the entrance.

We had 2 breakfasts here while staying in town. It was our favorite place! They have good omelettes, great gluten free bread, yummy hot pepper relish that goes great with the omelette, and a ton of pastries at their separate bakery shop next door. Great place, friendly service! read more

Maybe we just had bad luck, but I ordered an Omelette and 1/3 of it was full of eggshell. Some pieces were so big I could pick them out but most of it felt like eating sand. Also the egg was not well scrambled for the omelette and I noticed the white wasn't fully cooked. 1/4 of my home fries were just Very Burnt Potatoes and I had to push them to the side. I have good memories of eating in the various iterations of this spot, but I don't think I'll be back for quite some time for another chance. read more

Went there with the family for breakfast. Great service and excellent food at a reasonable price! The banana bread French toast was excellent as was everything we ordered. I'm a coffee snob and I have to say the iced coffee they served was above average for a breakfast place! Only downside is the place needs a deep clean. Could see old food and caked on crud under the counters, floors very dirty. I know some of it is the age of the building but there is no excuse for the level of filth under the counter. The bakery next door is also very good with great prices! read more

Awesome little breakfast place! I will admit, having lived in the area for many years, that I have enjoyed each owner's take on breakfast, from E&J's to Suzie Q's, and now Rome Point Cafe. This is a charming place with some recent updates to the decor to include; re-lengthening the counter top (took out the deli case) and what seems like an addition of more tables, which look spruced up too. I love the use of different country style dishware for each of our meals - each plate had a different pattern, and little fresh flowers at each table. Service was top notch with attentive coffee refills. Price is right... and most importantly, the food was spot on! My kiddo had a single (Huge) pancake with chocolate chips and side of bacon and hash browns. His 2 sides were ordered a la cart so there was way too much for him - but easy enough to share (or maybe that was my plan all along?). I had the delightfully salty/crispy corned beef hash goodness with 2 perfectly poached eggs. I love that I can chose from home fries (cubed potatoes) or hash browns (shredded). They have gluten-free toast which I chose along with my meal. I also love that I can get my Frank's Red Hot or Tabasco or even sriracha! To tell you the truth, none of my meal needed hot sauce or ketchup or the extra salt/pepper I instinctively sprinkled on - the seasonings were just right. They have a daily specials board and I was so close to choosing the omelet special made with spinach, feta and bacon... I also was admiring the yummy lunch offerings. Thanks Yelp peeps for recommending this local restaurant. Great service. Our waitress very warm, friendly ( she is getting married 10/22-woop woop). I ordered the grilled banana bread after reading the yelp reviews. It was delicious. No need to put butter or syrup on it. I tried my husband's red skinned potatoes and they were so good. Well seasoned. We arrived at the restaurant around 730am. By 8am, people were waiting...Definitely worth the wait. read more

This is a regular stop for us when we want breakfast that is fresh, quick and delicious. The staff greet you with a smile and welcome. Whether we get a table or sit at the counter, the attention to a customer is the best. The homemade breakfast breads are so moist and flavorful. I really love to have them grilled. The breakfast wraps are the perfect size to share or enjoy all by yourself. It's a breakfast plate in a wrap. read more

I have lived down the street for 6 years and finally tried it yesterday. Food was amazing. Eggs Bene was as good as I've had at fancier places, hash browns nice and crunchy and blueberry smoothy very tasty and thick. I am taking a star off for service (like every other restaurant this days help is stressed out) and also the grilled banana bread did not live up to its reputation. read more

Needs ramp. Food and service are terrific! Have great bakery which is great too next door to the right side of restaurant. Wait is reasonable, food great, line reasonable for outstanding meals. The service here and the food have a lot of potential and I wish I'd visited them on a different day. I called ahead to place an order for pick up, was told 10 minutes and I was there in five. After paying for my food I waited for another 15 and watched at least two other people at the counter order their food and receive their food in that time - the kitchen is quick! Everything coming out the back looked and smelled delicious. After listening to the front of house and Kitchen yell back-and-forth for a bit it turns out my food was just been sitting there in the back waiting for someone to pick it up and bring it out. Unfortunately that meant the hot sandwich was already pretty soggy by the time I walked out the door to my car in the parking lot. The sweet potato fries were pretty darn good but by that point they started to become soft and mushy. For the price I'm not sure I see myself coming back unless I can order and have the food fresh in person. It would be nice if they had a website or posted a legible menu with updated prices online. read more

Our neighborhood go to place for both quick and leasurely breakfasts. Cheerful and non-pretentious but with fantastic food and vegan and vegetarian options plus the good olds for the carnivores. Love the Tex mex plate with avocados and salsa lower carbs! Blueberry pancakes have been a long-time tradition spanning several owners and the latest version rocks! Laid back but efficient so I'm never afraid to stop by on the way to work in a hurry. read more

Great food, great people, a great place! The food is always great and all of the people the work here are absolutely fantastic. I used to come here almost every weekend to try out their breakfast specials, then when they switched to takeout only I stopped in and grabbed some rosemary/Italian bread. All of their grab n' go items like the bread, calzones, and desserts are ridiculously tasty. I was expecting the grab n' go stuff to be good, but I mean it's so good even I can't manage to screw it up at my house. Impressive! Before the bleak COVID-19 winter was upon us, this was a great place to relax and have some coffee. I strongly recommend their hash browns (or as I lovingly refer to them, Homies) and breakfast sandwiches. The homies are crispy and seasoned just right and the sandwiches are always cheesy and satisfying. I cannot wait until they open back up again to sit inside! read more

My favorite part about this place is how sweet everyone is to their customers. We always had water and coffee full, and we were checked on after having a few bites of my food. There are plenty of options including nitro cart for the coffee lovers! The food is good - typical breakfast joint food. I'd like to try lunch! read more

We were on a vacation mission and were in dire need of some morning sustenance. Rome Point Cafe was a recommended option for a plant based breakfast meal along our root, so we stopped there. It was crowded for a Friday at 10:00am, though we were able to immediately get a couple of seats at the counter. The speed of the service was average, perhaps a bit sub-par for a diner (perhaps considering the crowd), however the food was happily, exactly what you would expect to get at such an establishment. My love and I each ordered the Tofu Veggie Scramble, and each agreed that the dish was spot on! The scrambles were well seasoned and sauteed with tomato, broccoli, spinach and mushrooms, served with satisfyingly shredded hash browns and (our choice) of rye toast. The generic cup of black tea I had ordered was steamy and comforting. Classic flavors, generous portions, affordable price and plenty of coffee refills for love makes this delicious stop worth revisiting. We left Rome Point Cafe feeling relaxed, recharged and ready for a full day ahead. read more

This is my favorite place to have breakfast and has become a Sunday tradition. The owner (Shayna (sp?) is very sweet with a wonderful staff! The portions are outrageous, their specials are different and taste, they are quick, always keep your coffee filled and I honestly have nothing to complain about. Quiches, Shakes, Smoothies, Eggs, Ham, Corned Beef, Johnny Cakes, everything (with a lunch menu too but I'm here for breakfast). I would be elated if they ever start serving crepes! BEST place for breakfast in my area! read more

Got here by accident but very happy with the place. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful. They have nice benches if you prefer to eat outside. The grilled banana bread was really good. I also had a bagel, egg and cheese, it was so simple and yet so yummy. Worth visiting if you are near, you won't regret it. Reasonable prices. read more

This is a cute, new business. Breakfast and lunch, good menu selection at good prices. Parking is a little confusing it's to the left of the building. I was in the mood for something not on the menu and they were more then happy to make it for me. It was delicious. If you want breakfast and are in the area. This place is open for both breakfast and lunch- but this review is based solely on breakfast. I went here for the second time Saturday morning around 1000- there was a slight wait to sit at a table so we decided to sit at the little bar area instead of waiting for a table. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I got one of the scrambled egg meals that comes with toast, bacon, and shredded hash browns- everything was delicious. I also ordered a chocolate chip pancake which was delicious. My girlfriend had an avocado and tomato egg sandwich which she said was good as well. I'm typically not a huge fan of coffee - however, they have this nitro coffee which is amazing!!! It is similar to an ice coffee - just way better!!! read more

Very pleasant place with tasty food and low prices. We had hash browns, home fries, bacon, over easy and scrambled eggs, white and rosemary toast. Everything was cooked properly and well-flavored. It's a casual, friendly, affordable spot where I'd go routinely if I lived there. read more

Rome Point Cafe was previously E&j's and Susie q's but changed hands in December 2016 and was named so after the well known destination of Rome Point which is about 1/2 mile up the street.

Meet the Business Owner: Shanna M.

While going to URI for both my undergraduate and masters degree in biology, I was employed full time at Phil's restaurant in Wakefield. After graduation, I loved my job and continued to manage Phil's for a total of 17 years! This past year as my children both reached school age, I decided it was time to branch out and try something on my own. I am happy I went out on a limb because it has been both challenging and rewarding and has helped me grow. I love my business and all the people who support it!

You ordered at the counter, found a table, and waited for your name to be called. No table service. No bar. Just good food in a place that felt comfortable the minute you walked in. I left that job ten years ago. Wild Harvest never left East Greenwich. My friend Frank wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday. I knew exactly where I wanted to go. Lauren greeted us at the door. She's been managing the restaurant for a few weeks. I wanted to see how much the place has changed. "Where would you like to sit?" "The corner." A minute later, I was sitting in the same corner where I'd eaten lunch more times than I could count years ago. Wild Harvest still has the log cabin bones that made it stand out when it first opened. Heavy timber walls. Exposed beams overhead. A taxidermy deer wearing red, white, and blue bunting like someone decorated it for the Fourth of July years ago and never got around to taking it down. It still feels warm. Comfortable. Like itself. The changes over the last ten years, though, are hard to miss. What used to be a counter-service café is now a full-service restaurant. There's a real bar. A chalkboard announces dinner from five to eight, seasonal menus that change every week, cocktails, and Friday night flights. The place has grown without losing what made people want to come here in the first place. They don't call it a chicken parm. On the menu it's simply "Parmesan," listed beside the hot meatball as though everyone already knows what it is. The ciabatta is baked in house every day, and it tastes like it. The crust was blistered and lightly floured, toasted enough to push back before giving way to a chewy interior. The provolone had gone beyond melted into something draped over the edge of the cutlet. Underneath, the breading stayed crisp despite a generous layer of sauce. That's usually the first thing a chicken parm gives up. Not this one. The chips deserve a mention, too. They're house-made, fresh-cut, still curled from the fryer, the kind that remind you potato chips are supposed to taste like potatoes. Frank ordered the Mediterranean wrap with Wild Harvest's homemade veggie burger, hummus, romaine, tomato, shredded carrot, cucumber, and tzatziki. His lunch looked responsible. Mine looked like someone having a birthday. Neither of us seemed interested in trading. Frank picked up the check. We thanked Lauren and headed for the door. Ten years is a long time to stay away from a corner table. It's even better when you find out it was worth coming back.
