Came here for lunch on Tuesday. There were only three selections on the menu, which is totally fine. I ordered #1, the original. Got steamed rice covered with chicken breast & thigh meats, cucumbers, and sauce. I found the meat to be a bit dry and rather bland. The rice was undercooked. The best tasting part of the meals was actually the chicken soup served on the side. I think the overall experience can be improved by adding a little bit of salt to the chicken meat, better cooking the rice (seriously), and getting the food temperature higher. The place is very small. When I got there around 11:45 AM, there were just four customers inside including myself. Minutes later, a stream of hungry customers started rolling in steadily. I hope R&R takes this feedback constructively and improves over time. I'd love to see them succeed. I will come back in two months or so to check out if anything changes. read more

Alright, I am a fan of the food here. I did have some concerns though. In my chicken breast, I did find cartilage. Anyone who knows me, knows that's why I don't eat chicken, because chicken cartilage is probably the most disgusting thing to me. I can't do it. There wasn't enough of it in my meal to stop me from finishing my food, so that a good thing. I get it. It's organic and it's what chickens have. Still just not a fan of cartilage on my plate, especially when I order chicken breast in order to avoid any bones or possible cartilage. Other than that, I think the chicken was cooked perfectly. Not much fat if any, which I appreciated. The brown rice was excellent, and I am not usually excited about brown rice. However, the brown rice here is cooked perfectly. I absolutely love that they include a sauce with ginger and other various tasty things to spice up the food. Which, if you use the entire container, it totally does. The broth they give on the side is tasty and pairs nicely with the food. As for the service, they were okay. You would think since they are a newer business that they would be over achieving in the customer service aspect but it was "all business," to be brief. Don't come here expecting excellent customer service, expect a "Hi. What would you like to order?" Along with a simple response of "Okay. X amount." My friend, Alex who is a chicken connoisseur, brought me here under the pretense I have never had Hainanese chicken. He was gravely mistaken. I have traveled many times to Singapore with my parents, experiencing the wondrous dish literally every meal while there. There is something incredibly heavenly that brings them together, and this dish specifically is the heart and soul of the Singaporean experience for me. The small shop felt spacious enough for a quick meal, with the orders coming out within a matter of minutes. However, the food was fresh as could be. I got the number 1. The chicken tender and flavorful yet mild in seasoning and the rice bountiful with the flavor of the chicken broth. I think the greens could use a bit of work as the cucumbers were still thawing when I took a bite. Nevertheless, I didn't come to critique some semi-frozen cucumbers. I could care less about that. Included was a sauce made by soy beans (I wish I had taken a photo or wrote down my experience bc truth be told I have Alzheimer's and I completely forgot about my laundry I put into the washer this morning), which wasn't spectacular but it did complement the mild, if any, seasoning of the chicken itself.
